There was nothing to like about this property, except the location. The building was disgusting. We received the key to our room and the door was open. There was dirt and hair in the shower, the floor was a mess and there was rubbish, the air conditioner had duct tape stuck to hold it together and it wasn’t sealed properly so there was a gap and no noise proofing to the room. There was bars surrounding that had loud music and they all partied until 6 am. The worst place I have ever stayed. We were also charged en exorbitant amount due to gather round and then they wanted a bond of $200. There was nothing in that room that would warrant that.

Looking at it outside smashed windows, very old looking needing some tlc but wait till you try to sleep toilet ran all night, walls windows are not sound proof can
hear the music banging all night from nearby bars and clubs last night went from 10pm to 6am then the street cleaning started would never stay there again

The reception is not manned after 6pm, you have a number to call. One lift worked. Room was dark and not very clean, in particular the bathroom had broken tiles and dirty corners. Wouldn't recommend it or stay there again.

The rooms were extremely small, noisy, and not clean. The toilets and beds were dirty, and there was dust everywhere. The venue was under construction, with renovations happening at night, so it was impossible to get proper sleep.

The elevator was also very unsafe—it felt like a roller coaster every time I used it.

I booked accommodation for three nights but had to check out the next day due to these issues. Unfortunately, I was not given a refund. The staff were not helpful at all and kept telling me to contact Expedia instead of assisting directly. This is terrible customer service.

I have never stayed in a place like this before. There were also random tradesmen walking around with a dog, making uncomfortable remarks. It did not feel safe, especially for women staying alone. I felt very unsafe during my stay.

Unvacuumed floor. Long hair from previous guest blocking shower drain. Corridors that smelt like stale takeaway food. Air conditioner positioned to blast Antarctic air directly on head from 1m away. Blockout curtains perfectly positioned to allow street light to glare into room all night. Late night check in key pad positioned in dark corner.

Staff good, room nice daytime and unfortunately weekend night time 1 club over the road ( as the rest are shops closed ) so loud and no double glazed window's so ended up leaving 12.30am and went home as unable to sleep.. so if you want a quiet nights sleep on the weekend and like your sleep its not your you sadly as by looks was out the night club scene but that 1 club grrr

I stayed at Eminence on Bank and it is not too bad if you are just looking for a cheap place to sleep in the city. The location is convenient and works fine for a short stay. That said, it can be very noisy, especially on weekends. If you are a light sleeper or want a quiet night, this may not be the hotel for you. But if you do not mind the noise and just need somewhere affordable to stay, it does the job.

The room was terrible, aircondioner was just stuck in the wall and glued in. Not one mirror in the room or bathroom. No wardrobe or hangers to hang your clothes. 2 disposable razors were in the bathroom with hair in them. You could open the window and jump out if you wanted to kill yourself as there were no screens on them. Smelt like a Bali room. Very noisy as well. The only good thing was the bed was comfy.

The hotel was in the process of being updated and renovated, so there was 'stuff' along the corridors and in rooms. My room was clean and comfortable but obviously still not completed - there were no bulbs in the bedside lamps, which were obviously brand new. The mirror in the bathroom was so high up that all I could see was the top of my head. Thankfully there was another mirror in the room. Once the renovations are completed I think the room and the rest of the hotel will be excellent.

The fridge in the room smelled like off milk. How long had it been like that to get that pungent? I removed it from the room and left it in the hallway it was that bad.
The cupboard that held the fridge smelled and I had to clean it my self.
The floor had stains all over it. The bathroom was below average.
Someone had left a tea towel in there and reception tried to tell me it was a hand towel.
The air conditioner was appalling.
The service at reception, once you found it, was extremely poor and unhelpful.
Do not stay there!!!

Check in was an absolute joke. Staff appeared to have no idea. Key-cards went missing. Process took forever. Room was not what I paid for. Photo showed a king and a single. First room one king, second room two singles. Second room door did not even lock. I had to push one single bed in front of the door to feel safe. Whole place felt old and tired. Staff were friendly, but our stay had several issues. Someone was banging on our door at 1am, and the guests next door were very noisy. The bathroom had no mirrors, the bathroom ceiling had a hole with mould and stains, and the bedside table was coming off the wall. Not the experience we were hoping for.

I understand that the building is undergoing renovations, but the lifts may or may nto work at any particular time; the door knob came off in my hand when trying to get out of the room; no shower curtain; iron, but no ironing board; very noisy; and has a real pay by the hour vibe to it. I feels like I got ripped off with the price I paid. They should not charge more that $90 a night for this place. One star.

The ladies on reception were wonderful, however the room and corridors were dirty. The chair in the room was so dirty you wouldn't want to sit on it. We were there for 3 days and the room wasn't serviced at all, including removal of rubbish. The shower had a shower curtin that was mouldy on the bottom. The room was tiny. The external noise was horrible, the hotel needs sound proofing. I would not recommend this hotel. The photos of the rooms are in no way truthful

Despite emailing prior to arrival, staff did not assist with getting a parking pass, suggesting instead that we should be right to park in the loading bay as long as we moved the car early enough in the morning. Elevator only moved if you held the button in until you reached your floor. Whole property was filthy. No towels in room, bed not made very well, old food items in smelly fridge. Street noise was extremely loud, area felt unsafe at night. Door didn’t seem to close completely without chain on( looked like door jamb had been previously jimmied) and photos of property online are not what it actually looked like.

I booked this for my daughter and her friends for her 18th birthday. The main reason for choosing this hotel was the amount of beds vs price and location. The room was able to comfortably sleep 6 and had 2 large couches if required. The room was very spacious, air conditioning worked well and had everything they needed, it is just quite old and in need of a reno. The manager was very friendly and accommodating, I was able to bring balloons before check in and set up the room for the birthday. It was very noisy as the other reviews suggest. As the girls were out most of the night it wasn’t a big issue, and they had their check out time extended (complimentary) to 12pm to give them a chance to sleep in once the noise died down. The girls had a great night, the beds were comfortable and everything was clean. It’s not the greatest hotel, but it was fine for what they needed.

Terrible. I got stuck in the city and had to find a hotel quickly. I booked online amd went to the hotel about 8:30pm and it was locked. There were lots of dodgy people hanging around outside, with one man staring and coming near me. I couldn’t get into the hotel and then fled out of fear. They were supposed to call me and so far have not contacted me.

Well this hotel, if you can even call it that was nothing short of an experience in itself.
The experience started as soon as we pulled up to the Cosmo and looked up at all the rooms from the outside and were met with a cat in the window and someone blowing smoke out the window and we thought surely not and were met with horror we realised that infact it surely was. We walked in the front door and was met with a stench of old socks which could be standing straight up as if someone was still wearing them mixed with musty stale alcohol this is when we just looked at each other and there were no words just shear terror. The elevator was nothing short of out of a horror movie the carpet in the elevator hasn't had a vacuum since the building was built.
As we entered the 3rd floor we were met with the lovely sound of Mrs crackhead having a lovely wee moan with Mr crackhead. We walked down to our 2 bedroom apartment we entered to a mold ridden room, stained couch and holes in the roof. I wondered why the curtains were closed and opened them and the curtain & curtain rod fell from the ceiling well that explained the closed curtains. The photos are completely inaccurate and are NOTHING like the rooms. The pub under the hotel raged til 4am, this hotel is not family friendly. And in the morning we were met with Mrs crackhead and her track marked legs in the lobby to send us on our way. Don't stay here unless you want to leave extremely angry trying not to get an assault charge.

\"**WARNING: DO NOT STAY HERE**. This place is a complete scam. The room was NOTHING like the photos online.
Starting from the moment you enter the foyer and are greeted with the smell, a mixture of old take away and rubbish, the manager a disheveled unkempt individual with less hospitality skills than that of a 30’s hospital matron, who explains to us that the room we booked was not what was available due to cleaning that day and the dampness associated, who then informs us “if you don’t like the room we have for you we can always move you tomorrow”.
We are then greeted by furniture and bedding, covering the fire extinguishers in the hallway with the smell of damp throughout and dirty laundry piled in a corner.
We move into our “apartment to find 5 beds throughout the two rooms and the only bathroom within the bedroom of the apartment, without any windows. The other room housing one bed and two fold outs with no blankets or doonas, lighting not working, windows in the main room that don’t open nor the blinds, so you’re in darkness throughout the day. Make a cup of coffee? nope! No cups, plates, cutlery etc, no coffee/tea etc, no tea towels/cloths to clean and mould and damaged internals of the cupboards. Uncomfortable beds and don’t get me started on the bathroom. All up we were booked in for 4 nights and left the next morning. Do yourself a favour, STAY AWAY and enjoy your trip instead of having to find alternative accommodation at last minute. STILL AWAITING A REFUND!

Very outdated, not at all like the photos. Spruiked as a two bedroom apartment, actually only one bedroom with three other beds set up in the living room. Two of the beds were not even real beds - folding beds - and they did not have blankets, just sheets! We arrived late at night and it was 12degC. My kids were freezing and I had to use bath towels as extra bedding for them. The single box A/C heater was grossly undersized for the room and barely took the chill off. The kitchen had no coffee or tea (yet there was milk in the tiny fridge?!) and there were only a couple of glasses - we were a group of 5. There was a sponge, but no detergent and no tea-towel. So no way to adequately wash any dishes. Two chairs at the kitchen table (for 5 people). Shelf directly over the toilet so that you banged your head getting off. No vanity - just random bits of wood screwed together with some kind of foam stuck to it that had *almost* been removed (unsuccessfully). We had croissants for brekky from the bakery over the road - no way to sweep up our crumbs because there was no broom or dustpan provided. One good thing was the little bedside lights over the main bed (best thing in the place). Location excellent - in a very cute laneway with lots of cafes / food places around. NO PARKING - not even a drive through bay where you could pull in to dump suitcases (although this is beyond the control of Cosmo - more of an Adelaide City issue). There were several paid parking lots nearby though.

The hotel is close to shops, transport and places to eat which was very convenient. Price to stay was cheap and staff provided us with a fob for late access after we asked for one.
The hotel supplied no toilet paper or tea and coffee, we had to buy our own, even after staff assured us some would be supplied. It was hard to sleep with the noise of 3 bars and people shouting, and even fighting, in the street until 3am every night. Then the street sweeper goes through at 5am and there was no noise reduction at all.
Facilities were basic and the bathroom fan didn't work. The shower screen showed visible mold and the chairs were stained.

The Cosmo on Bank lives up to its reputation, the location is second to none. We stayed for a cricket trip and I would recommend this place to any group who wants a cheap place to rest their head for 3 hours a day. The room we had was actually clean compared to some Google reviews. Our room had no toilet paper but with one simple request to the helpful man at the front desk there was 2 rolls waiting for us when we got back from a night out

Would not recommend this property to anyone. Noise was ridiculous, room was not tidy, the curtains didn’t even cover about 2 feet worth of window so I was exposed to the street, fan was noisy in bathroom, parts of the tiled floor were lifting and an old banana was under it. The fridge was dinted all over the front and when opened was full of rust! Walls were patched where holes had been and hadn’t been repainted. A bed light had been ripped off the wall and not replaced, light above bed also didn’t work! Overall, worst hotel I have stayed in my entire life. Will not be going back! And would advise EVERYONE to AVOID!

The location is excellent, with public transportation right at the doorstep and proximity to everything. However, the listing as an 'apartment' might be misleading. While the beds were clean, the refrigerator was completely iced over, no cooking facilities and basic cutlery was missing. Additionally, the apartment had noticeable stains on the walls and floors, and the windows were obscured and filthy. Receptionist was kind and helpful.

The hotel is placed in a very useful location and the service was good. However the cleanliness and overall state of the room was terrible. King bed was torn and mattress springs sticking out. Bed sheets not clean and I suspected bed bugs after waking up with bites. Our key did not have a tag to get in after hours and would have to buzz an intercom to get in.

I grabbed my key after hours and someone was in my room. Was transferred to another room however the room was old and damaged. The bathroom looked like a public restroom.

There was no lock from the inside so I felt completely unsafe as a single female. The only lock was a handle lock.

The staff understood and offered me a refund thankfully.

There's really not anything good to say about this place. It has been left to run down for far too long. The blind in our room fell off when I tried to open it, the toilet roll holder swung loosely, the shower was dripping, the street noise was terrible even with ear plugs in and the noise was at all hours on a Wednesday morning. I wouldn't stay here again.

There was a bit of a funny chemical smell in the room, however we were barely there so did not let it worry us to much. It was very convenient to be able to walk across the road to Adelaide oval.
Next time I would ask for a Higher up room as the noise from bank st in the morning is very loud we were on level 4.

If you want to save money this place is ok, but make sure you bring ear plugs as it's very noisy. It's clean and comfortable and located close to everything. If you can afford more money I'd stay somewhere else but but if trying to save it's ok, still over priced for what it is though. Staff were polite and professional.

Lights wouldn’t work in room apart from two bedside lamps. Mentioned this to reception (Steve) and was told someone would be up shortly to have a look. I stayed 2 nights and no one came!! Left the hotel to grab myself something to eat and was asked by two random people to go and see their mate on level 4 for them and grab them some stuff as the reception would not let them inside! If you have a family or kids of any age I very much discourage using this place for accommodation. People running through the hallways at all hours of the night/morning, mould and squashed flies on the bathroom walls. Yep I won’t be going back ever!!!!

Ceiling tiles broken, flickering fluro tubes, a smashed ironing board, leaking toilet that refilled every 20min, paper thin curtains that cover some of these window and peeling paint on the rest, patrons off their heads on drugs raiding the vending machine downstairs - the list goes on.

And just so noisy from inside and out.

The cleaners had made an effort to do the traditional fold the triangle on the toilet paper for the five squares left on the roll...

But on the plus side the linen was clean and the bed was comfortable enough.

Walked in to check in front reception windows broken, staff looked terrible. Property was disgusting.
Went to my room and there was no way i was sleeping in that bed.
I ended up walking with my bags and booking into another hotel.
That place is an absolute dive do not stay

Very basic hotel with a convenient location.

I visited Adelaide for an exhibition at the AGSA and booked this hotel as it was close & affordable. I can understand why some people might have given it 2 stars. It's definitelly in need of some TLC and there are pretty much no facilities. Not even a toilet in reception, so you need to go before you check out. I was on the 4th floor and didn't have any of the noise issues others have mentioned. It was a Wednesday night however, and the streets were pretty quiet. It might be worse on a weekend. The staff were friendly enought. The location is definitely the best thing about this hotel. It served it's purpose for my needs on this visit.

I didn't really enjoy my stay here due to the all-night noise coming from the street below. I was on the fourth floor but could hear people on the street below screaming all through the night. It made it difficult to sleep and relax. Also the facilities in the room were very outdated and in need of repair - power sockets hanging out of walls and stickey tape covering cracks in the windows for example. Probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The staff were nice to deal with but the hotel itself was very poor.

The location of this property being in the CBD is the only benefit.

It is very old, very very very run down, and a lot of drunk people congregate immediately outside the door.
They’re abusive and hostile towards people coming in and out.
The place is very very dirty, the lighting doesn’t work properly, hot water in the shower lasts only a few minutes, the windows aren’t properly sealed so it is very very very noisy inside.
Arrived late and was left in the street (along with 5 or 6 others) for around fifteen minutes trying to contact staff to let us in.
There are a lot of reasons why I will never stay here again.

Booked two twin rooms for a small group, One room had a a/c that kept making this loud clicking noise on or off and the second rooms toilet didn't flush properly and the fan in the bathroom didn't work at all. The roof was starting to sag in the rooms and some windows had taped up cracks. Due to location you'd expect some sound from the streets at night but even then you'd expect some quietness due to the walls and being multiple floors up (I've stayed at other places around this area with no issues) but the walls were too thin to drown out any noise making sleep extremely hard. The price paid for these rooms were not at all worth it, they were probably worth half the price at most.

The room was not made up even when we checked in at 3.30pm
There was no cold water for the hand basin...none!!
Bathromm floor was dirty.
Most surfaces were dusty.
The window blinds that were down could not be raised, those that were up could not be lowered.
A rat hole.........

The picture is certainly not what it seems, the rooms are very outdated but clean and the beds are comfortable. It is in the center of town but not much can be seen through the very dirty windows. the air-conditioner worked fine but I like to open a window once in a while. there was nowhere to hang any of my cloths ( no hooks on the wall, no wardrobe or even a coat hanger), no lounge (like the pic) but a desk and one chair.
biggest problem is the night club underneath after 4 hours of the same beat coming through the floor it got a bit excausting

I get budget accommodation but really this place needs a deep clean and a little extra love!
I was on 6th floor but was still so noisy i had to check the windows twice because i thought one might have been open - none were. Very dusty on lamp stand and hairdryer but other surfaces wiped down so cleaner just needs to take more care and do their job properly.
Issue with Expedia price not showing up when i checked in so was overcharged for room but thankfully they refunded most of the difference when i went back and asked for it.
Bathroom just needs a clear mirror - not a tinted one!

Not a place I'd take.my family. Location was great near the casino & Hindley st entertainment. I paid about $130 which is ok for the loaction. No wardrobe and no cupboard for coffee kettle. Saying it needs a refurbish would be 30 years late. Homeless people downstairs. Good place to stay for $130 for a single guy. Room worse than on website. Staff good. Id stay there again for $130 to save money.
