The property was really clean.
Amogh( receptionist) was really really nice. He helped us with room upgrade as it was our anniversary. i felt really happy with the way he treated us and went all the way to help us with room upgrade and gave us a fair price as well. i would love to visit again.
we had a balcony view room with a personal lobby area as well.

Was disappointed this time as we had a booking for 4, 2 adults and 2 kids woke up on the morning had to show and get to an appointment and there was only 2 towels and 2 face washer cloths they have that liquid soap so you need a washer cloth to lather up the soap. Went to report it at the front desk only it was busy and we had to get to an appointment. When we returned that evening there again was only 2 towels, 2 washed cloths and 2 glasses, 2 tea cups. It's like the room was set up for only 2 people. The hotel also had one lift out of order like last time we were there... other guests also stated that it was near impossible to get an elevator sometimes as they are always full going up and down.
Advised the front desk of having to share towels with our kids. Instead of a sorry the guy just smirked and said fine how many towels do you want and went to get some and handed them to me... There you go he said, just let us know if you need more. His time was condescending. The bathroom also has a huge step up to get in and the only power point is so far from the mirror and vanity unit....looks like who ever remodelled the bathroom had no idea what they are doing. I've worked as project manager refurbishing hotels like the Sydney Hilton and never seen work this shonky. The room we stayed in last time was at the front on top floor and better and cheaper than this time. We are booked for September and I may have to book July as well but are worried about getting this bad room.

Good cheap hotel that is close to all the action. The staff were amazing - very friendly and accomodating, especially Hassan. He got our large group's 7x rooms che cked in quick at 12pm, when we arrived tired from early morning traveling. He was also very flexible with our 11am checkout, which spilled over closer to 12pm for some of our tired guests who worked late into thje evening the njight prior.

No parking used. The continental breakfast was plentiful and very fresh. The lady working on the day was delightful. Very pleasant on my arrival and farewell. She was constantly checking the breakfast items on offer and replenishing when needed. Great value for money if you are just wanting a light breakfast.

We recently stayed at Grosvenor Hotel Adelaide and unfortunately had a mixed experience.

On the positive side, the reception staff were absolutely lovely—friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. We really appreciated being allowed to leave our car in the carpark until after the football, which saved us some extra money and made the day much easier. The view was also amazing, and we were lucky enough to be treated to some fireworks from our balcony!

However, the biggest letdown was the cleanliness of the room. We paid an extra $50 at the counter to upgrade to a balcony room, but sadly it didn’t feel worth it. The room had visible cobwebs, fingerprints all over the windows and TV, and just generally felt like it hadn’t been properly cleaned.

There were also a few issues with the TVs—the lounge room TV wasn’t connected to the hotel’s internet, and the bedroom TV had poor reception and kept freezing, which was frustrating. The draws in the room were also broken and could not be used.

The bed itself was clean, which we appreciated—but when checking out, Tony noticed something black sticking out from under the bed, thinking it was his sock. It turned out to be someone else’s T-shirt, which was pretty off-putting.

Overall, the staff and location were great, and this could have been a really enjoyable stay—but the cleanliness really let it down. With better attention to detail in housekeeping, this place could be fantastic.

I have stayed at the Grosvener hotel a few times over the years and find the location great,close to Rundle Mall,The train station,casino and many great eateries.
Rooms are clean and tidy.
Staff were accommodating and helpful.
You can get a continental breakfast which was ok but could offer a few more options.
We did have trouble with the bathroom door being very hard to shut and the main door to room didn’t shut unless you gave it a push.
The down side of our stay was construction noise from a nearby building that began Saturday night at around 11pm and didn’t stop until about 4am,so loud,but understand that this is not the fault of the hotel.
All that considered we do like staying here.

Approximately 50% of all the rooms in the hotel have no windows to the outside but to a 2-3 meter wide ventilation shift. You can‘t open the window, the room is always very dark, you will need the light on even when the sun is shining, the air conditioning is loud and you always have an unpleasant smell. I never would book the room again. Horrible.

Probably wouldn't recommend longer if you want more than just a bed ,bath/shower.

Australia has more channels on free to air than the Grovenser offers,
If you want anything to watch on TV besides the basic channels expect to pay for it. $15 - 35 for a movie.
Oh and they have a porn channel - not free, so if you're into that then this is the place for you.
So yeah that kinda vibe

I wouldn't define the Grovenser as family friendly, but overall a good place to stay on your way to somewhere.

Staff are friendly, room wasnt great, thhere was splatters of toothpaste from previous occupants on the tiles, looked like left over fecal matter in the water in the toilet. The air conditioning is absolutely terrible, especially on hot days like yesterday, could not get comfortable. The tv in the room kept displaying an error with the HDMI cable.

I don’t usually like giving poor reviews and I guess when I booked a budget friendly accommodation I shouldn’t expect the finest things but my initial room had the previous guests food still in drawers and the fridge, once my room was moved it was slightly better. The place was busy and only 1 lift was functional well that was until the other lift also decided to break down so stairs were the only option or be stuck in your room/reception if your unable to use stairs for a few hours. The place just feels very ran down overall and the rooms very boxy.

Terrible hotel. I had the misfortune of having to stay twice, as it was too late to cancel once I saw how bad it was. The room was filthy, I didn’t even take my shoes off there was so much debris in the ground. The shower was repulsive—black mold, grimy bathmat. I didn’t shower at all. This is barely a step up from a hostel.

This was so unbelievably below expectations. The room was filthy--crumbs on the floor, cups and mugs clearly used and not cleaned, stains everywhere--and the windows were opaque and curtains didn't open, so the room was dark. The entire premises were unwelcoming, in poor condition, and felt unsafe. It was so bad I left early and just sat at the airport for extra hours. Truly the worst impression of Adelaide.

Disappointing Return Stay – the Grosvenor Has Gone Downhill
I stayed at the Grosvenor Hotel back in 2018 and had a reasonably pleasant experience, but this visit was bloody awful. We booked the most economical room and certainly got the cheapest, dirtiest one available. I honestly doubt there’s a worse room in the building.
Our room had two small windows facing the centre of the hotel, overlooking a tin roof and filled with the constant sound of pigeons. The unpleasant smell in the room made things even worse.
To be fair, we were allowed to check in early, which was appreciated. However, the rest of the experience was disappointing. The hotel feels incredibly tired and is in desperate need of a proper makeover. One of the lifts has apparently been out of order for ages, which adds to the general sense of neglect.
Overall, this once-decent hotel has really gone downhill. I wouldn’t stay again unless major renovations are done.
