The bathroom fan performed a Jazz drum solo the entire time it was on and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since it was installed in the 80s. The room smelled peppery and moist. The carpets left your feet damp. There was absolutely mould growing anywhere the darkness touched and if you think fresh air would help, you would be S.O.L. The windows do not open, although they appear to have been able to once upon a time. The mattress had a dip in the centre bigger than the Vredefort Crater, and appeared to have never been rotated, although that didn’t help much at all. The linens were questionable in terms of cleanliness and hid more questionable stains on the comforter/mattress.

This stay was the epitome of “you get what you pay for”. In short, the rooms are in desperate need of renos. The staff were charming, kind, and accommodating. They truly are the best part of the Paringa. It was worth it for our wallets, but we would never stay here again.

Nicely located in the middle of the city, with some great restaurants not far away.

Stayed here often. It’s central to everything, close to all types of Adelaide Public Transport and the main shopping in Rundle Mall 2 minutes away.
The room quality is reflected in the price and is a little dated, but they have always been clean, the shower hot and staff very helpful.

False advertising. Was expecting a nice view over the cbd but this was a fail with my window being frosted and opening the window a tiny bit all you could see was a brick wall and plumbing pipes.
Faeces in the toilet, mould in the shower area, used soap from the last person.

There were places to eat and drink nearby and you could walk the city if you wanted or catch transport (which is free if you are a senior, you are given a 2 week pass on trams and buses which helps a lot). I was disappointed in the room, the bedroom I chose and paid many months in advance for was not what we got, we looked directly at the building next door across the laneway, I thought I had booked the room advertised. There was an AFL festival in town and I wonder if our room was given to someone else for a dearer price and we were relegated to something of lesser ambience. The room was clean although small, it was difficult to open and close the curtains, we didn't use the aircon and the fridge had no rail on the door recess so it could not be used with very little space in the fridge itself, a bottle of milk and coke and that was it. Being an older building it's probably difficult to update however the picture advertised was not what we received. There as quite a step up to the ensuite about 8 to 10 inches and we almost fell up and down a couple of times, I figure they put pipework underneath to add the ensuite but there should be something to make it obvious as a trip hazard. Make sure of what you're getting. The manager and other staff were great and offered every assistance to any requirements we had, overall was still disappointed at the room as it was a surprise for my husband, he was surprised alright, nevermind won't be caught again

DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU WANT TO SLEEP WELL.
Check-in was efficient & friendly. Our \"Deluxe\" room was on the 3rd floor & fronted onto Hindley Street with almost floor to ceiling windows - & therein lies the problem! The windows are old & in very poor condition. This meant that it was very difficult/impossible to sleep with the degree of noise from traffic, late night revellers, music from bars, bin lorries, street cleaning & hi performance cars/bikes revving their engines excessively. On inspection i found 3 windows that used to open, that had broken latches, but a crude attempt to screw them closed had only partially worked. One window could still be opened too easily for safety (a child could open it & climb/fall out). All 3 were loose, so allowed noise to ingress. Even when pushed firmly shut the noise ingress was only marginally better. The whole window installation is long overdue replacement.
Additionally, fixtures & fittings were threadbare/cracked/chipped - but given the price point one MIGHT argue that's just about what you're paying for.
The staff were very pleasant. However, the owners need to invest heavily in the property to support them.

The facility is dated, clean and quiet. The receptionist was helpful and friendly. The window air conditioning unit was able to keep up for our space. The water pressure in the shower was excellent but we had no hot water on two of our three mornings. The location is very convenient.

The hotel is showing its age. The room I stayed in on the 5th floor had old furniture, dents and scrapes in the walls and the bathroom amenities were old beyond repair. There was mildew in the grout in the shower tiles and the toilet did not flush properly.

I actually didn’t get to stay there because I didn’t have the $200 security deposit.. and therefore lost my $100.40 that was the room tariff… ParInga kept my $100 and provided nothing for it. I rang the next day with what I thought was a far more palatable outcome for both which was for them to credit me the $100 on a booking for tonight. I was polite and ‘cap in hand’ but the rude mgr delivered a tyrade and then hung up on me.

Not good for families. Not worth it. Not a good area. Room overpriced for facilities. Unacceptable. Cannot recommend it to anyone. Only positive was staff member at check-in was lovely, friendly & helpful.

There was no air conditioning or fan in the room so, with hot summer temperatures, it was like trying to sleep in a sauna. There is a very noisy all-night pub next door so opening the windows made sleeping even more difficult. Rooms are not serviced during your stay. It was just very uncomfortable.

The room was shabby and not well cleaned. Noticeable dust under the bed. Curtains on the worn side and one window appeared to be missing the internal one . The room was extremely noisy as it has an alleyway running down the side. I was woken multiple times by passer-by's and trucks including a rubbish truck.
I arrived very late and had problems with the bond $200.
The one big plus was the receptionist who was extremely kind given the late hour she was contacted. Convenient location. Value for money definitely not.

Hotel is very central to all shops, nightlife, arks & transport. however from 4am the noise trucks doing their deliveries or whatever is quite loud.
Price was reasonable for 2 people.

My room was on level 2 and overlooked a pub on the other side of a narrow lane. There was a lot of noise from pub patrons in the evening and service vehicles in the early morning. The windows faced west so the room was hot in the late afternoon. Inexpensive but take earplugs.

The foyer is decrepid. The furniture in common areas is stained. The room had cracking paint, the carpet is old and worn, the shower cubicle was not properly cleaned.

Everytime the lift is used it sounded like someone was playing 10 pin bowls in the celing space.

The towels were excellent and the bed was comfortable

Woman that checked me in was amazing - but the room was positioned on the main road and must only have single glazing so I had the worst sleep of my life with people still making noise outside until 6am. The room was incredibly out dated and furniture falling apart at places but was clean. Also fire doors were kept open - not safe

Do not stay here if you wish to sleep at all, especially on weekends! It is literally on Main Street and you’ll hear loud music, screaming, sirens and cars revving until almost sun up!
Stay at Hotel Grand Chancellor if you want to be in town as it’s just up the road but no street noise. Rooms are ok, good size. Only good thing was receptionist, she was lovely and thankfully gave us earplugs to try get some sleep. Would not stay here again even if it was free!!

There were 3 positives - position, price and lovely receptionists.
There was 1 major negative - no daily housekeeping. I stayed 4 nights. The coffee and milk was supposed to last. I requested more, but it did not arrive. I also requested clean towels, which were supplied.

From the moment I walked in, on a busy Friday night the manager was friendly, helpful and efficient at checking in. The room was dated but absolutely clean as. No views from my room which didn't bother me. The room was quiet and comfortable..
It was a close walk to Adelaide Oval for the footy. Great restaurants and bars in the area too. The location is 💯 and I'd definitely stay here again if visiting Adelaide.

Manager very helpful with information that we sought regarding Adelaide, transport etc. Very friendly. She was actively maintaining vigilance over access by undesirables and reassuring us of safety in the grotty precinct nearby. Cleanliness of room, linen etc.was superb, and all facilities well maintained. You have a gem in Bernadine. Thank you
