Hotel staff was very friendly. Valet was excellent. Pearl bar was good. All I had to do was ask for the remote bartender gave it to me and I was in control of the sports that were being watched but before that there was just movies playing on a pretty big sports day, which was Sunday nachos were great although they did take more than 30 minutes to get. Hotel was in a great area very easy to get in walkable distance to great restaurants, great bars and clubs and Daikin Park.

I got there and my bedding looked like someone had soiled themselves on the bed. All the way down to the bed pad. It had makeup all over the bed and hair. They brought us be Linen but there was no one there to make the bed. So we had to do it ourselves. This was on a Saturday. I was told to wait until the manager came in the next day. She arrived late. She came in and told me that she can refund me a half a day and that I should have came in earlier so that she could have sold the room but since I didn’t it was not her problem and she could only give me half. Then upper management didn’t come in until Monday. He got there and decided to tell me that hotels don’t have managers on the weekends, as if I’ve never been to a hotel before. Both of their responses were not a response to assist the situation but to rebuttal.. 0/10 would not recommend..

1st off we got there at 2:30pm to check in. The very nice lady at the desk said there wouldn’t be a room available until 4pm-6pm! When asked when check in check out time was, she said it was “whenever “ . Well we had to get ready for an event and be there by four so when I asked what could be done she did make it happen and get a room for us. That and the fact the room was clean is the only reasons we give it 3 stars. The noise from outside kept us up most of the night. Loud music and a very vulgar DJ . The bed was so uncomfortable my wife was considering leaving and driving on home in the middle of the night. If it hadn’t been for the extra effort the Desk clerk made to get us booked in this would be our first ever 1 star review. Will not stay here next month when we return to downtown Houston.

The hotel is amazing, the staff is amazing. Unfortunately on the first morning of our stay there was an emergency and they shut the water off…. We were in the middle of getting ready, finished up by using water bottles. The water did not come back on until 5 pm. We couldn’t use toilet or showers. Now this is no fault of hotel! The property is amazing 100% would stay again. Very close to ball park and highly recommend Morton’s steakhouse!!!!

Overall great!

Overall great! Very friendly staff, comfortable, and clean. Only complaints were the shower handle was broken and took a while to get the correct water temp and figure out how to work it. There was a hair wad in the shower drain. Not terrible but just not pleasant to see.

ALERT—— the only parking is valet and it’s $52 per night. When I booked this hotel stay for two nights, 8 months ago, this important information was not mentioned. The hotel itself was fairly quiet but the street noise from all the night walkers during 2-5am was annoying.

The overall appearance did not match the photo layout on the website. It was extremely misleading. The elevators were small, the rooms were small, mattress extremely uncomfortable. The only good thing about my stay was the staff and food. The staff was amazing the moved like a well oiled machine ...I shared my concerns with the general manager and he advised that I reach out to your company with my concerns. The renovation were in process and it spoiled my entire visit. i did not see the notice pertaining to that on the website. At this point I want a FULL refund, due to the website being misleading.

Literally just okay

Stayed just one night to see a show at the Hobby center and the hotel was close by to the theater so that we could walk there.
One of the big cons is that it is valet parking only, and that costs $52 a night, which is unreasonable in my opinion. Next, when we were checking in, the front desk concierge let us know to expect construction noise as workers would be working close to our floor. The manner that this was expressed was very matter of fact, not that maybe there could be some noise or \"sorry about that.\" Just to expect it. Was just surprised that the employee set us up to expect a bad experience?

The room is small-- much smaller than what I was expecting for a single King bed suite. Walking in, you'll see the bed in the center of the room and a small amount of space on either side and then the door to the bathroom. The bathroom had lightbulbs sitting on the counter which I found was strange. The bed was fine, suitable for sleeping for one night.

I don't think I would choose this hotel again in the future.

The hotel itself was nice but heavily worn. Very little interaction with staff but any were positive. The area in is located is terrible! The hotel charges an exorbitant amount per calendar day to park your car so guests park themselves and fear for their lives going to and from their cars. The area has a lot of homeless and void of any other visitors/residents. We didn’t search well before booking and will not return to that area because of this. We had food delivered and did not venture out not knowing the area.

Room was very small for the price. Clean but rather cramped for two people.

Front desk personnel were polite and helpful.

The Pearl restaurant is nothing but an average hotel bar at best. Understaffed and unable to keep up with orders. No seafood as advertised about The Pearl restaurant on the website. Simply bar food (burgers). After receiving menus, bartender never came back to the table. We finally walked out. Fortunately there are some good restaurants within walking distance.

The so called free breakfast in the Pearl breakfast area was nowhere to be found when we left at 9am Saturday morning. So again we just left.

I had what I believe to be realistic expectations for a $300/room in a hotel that advertises a sit down restaurant and free breakfast. I expected a room that was somewhat larger than the cramped one I received. Check with the property prior to booking to make sure you get what they’re advertising.

There was only one person working the front desk and she was on a call, so I waited about 5 minutes before even being recognized. Once she put the customer on hold, she informed me that she did not have a reservation for me. I showed her my confirmation number and then she was able to find it. Once I was given my room keys, I went to my assigned room, opened the door and there were already people in that room. There were clothes, shoes and luggage in the room and the TV was on. Thank goodness I didn't see anyone or anything going on.

the staff was wonderful and very welcoming. the bed was really nice, and i liked the natural lighting the rooms offered. however, for the price, and lack of self parking i found some od the accomodations to be lacking and outdated. for example, the tv was borderline retro. the lack of a mini fridge was a bit annoying. i understand this is to encourage using the restaurant in the hotel, but i wanted to come back to cold water after a night out lol.
small annoyances for a relatively chill stay. i thought it was fun, but don't think we will be returning due to price and parking alone.

One of my worst hotel experiences ever. Our need for a room was to have a place to sleep and shower in the morning. We got back from our venue around 10:30 and fell into the bed. outside street noise went on for a couple of hours. In the middle of the night, there was some weird electronic clicking sound that seemed to be coming from the ceiling. finally, after a not-so-good night's sleep, we both needed to get a shower to prepare for our three-hour trip back to corpus christi. The water trickled out. the water in the sink faucet was stronger. the temperature kept on changing, so we could not even shower in the trickle.
in addition, the toilet was not cleaned even to normal home standards (hair, dirt and urine around one of the seat hinges, crud on the shower tile edge next to the glass door, etc.
Our 300 dollar room was very small, but attractive. they clearly were using the small space to it's best advantage, with a built-in desk and a tiny couch that still gave us room to move about.
when i approached the manager about our situation, he apologized, explaining that only one other person had made the same complaint about the water. turns out it was a bad pump. I insisted that this was a serious inconvenience, and he responded that i had full use of the room up to the morning, so only a small percentage of my stay was impeded. WHAT? a good shower was 1/2 of what i booked a room for. 1/2 to sleep.
manager was unempathetic and barely responsive.

The hotel itself is ok, rooms are on the small side, but adequate. My vehicle was broken into while it was valeted and the hotel tried to say that the window “exploded” on its own. The vehicle was located in a private parking garage that supposedly only they valet had access too. Yet somehow my vehicle was singled out and broken into. The hotel tried to not take any responsibility until I informed them that items were missing.

Not what you would expect from Hilton....

where do I begin. First I want to say I have stayed at Hiltons for over 35 yrs, and really like them. But we go there and the AC was set at 70 and it was 76 in the room. Thought it was because the windows where wide open, but later that night it only cooled to 75. Then the show leaked. Not a little, a lot. The whole bathroom flooded and 1/2 the living area. Was not through the door, but the show pan must be cracked. They did not have another room because it was the Astros home opener and the NCAA Final 4 was in town. Not really worried about the ACV and water as much as how long has this beed going on in room 903 and how much mold it in there?????

Very nice boutique style hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are very nice and modern. Check in and check out was very simple and quick. Over night parking was expensive and should be included in the stay, but it seems all downtown hotels charge for parking. The homeless population outside the hotel is overwhelming but that not the hotels fault. I will stay here again.

Unbelievably loud. There was a party on 2nd with live music (some of it in the hallway) that went until midnight, and it literally shook our bed on 3rd floor. Everyone was told we basically just had to deal with it. Loud outside the windows. All “renovations” are super shoddy. Dust all over our room (light fixtures, etc.) Carpet smelled bad. Entire floors smelled horrible. Front desk staff was always incredibly friendly though. Bar tender and Chef incredibly hardworking and kind.

Hotel is nice but so many homeless people sleeping on the sidewalk across the street we’re off putting. We were not comfortable walking, even a short way to a restaurant, we will probably not stay at this hotel again, at least not until Houston cleans up their homeless issues.

Our room was nice,but nothing fancy for the price you pay for a night stay . I also thought the room would have a refrigerator, but it didn't. Parking is not included in the stay. Its an extra $40 per day. The one thing i can say is the staff was very friendly.

Fantastic! Stayed overnight to go to an Astros game. Hotel staff very supportive and helpful. They were able to accommodate an early check in. Forest gave us a welcome package. Forest, Damien and Tommy were all very helpful. Will definitely stay here again for our next downtown event ( we live locally).

At about 4am I left the property to catch my flight at IAH. The front door of the hotel had been barred from the inside with a piece of wood. I assume this was to keep homeless people from entering the lobby. I did not see any staff in or around the lobby.

I don't know if this is a fire hazard, but it is certainly a terrible feeling to have to remove a 2x4 from the front door of the hotel where you are staying to wait for a cab alone at four in the morning amongst whatever dangers necessitated barricading the front entrance as if it was located inside a warzone.

I will not being staying at the Sam Houston again under any circumstances and I will be avoiding the Hilton brand altogether in the future.

I was charged $200 for incidentals. My room was not cleaned daily and i wasn't told upon check-in that I had to request for my room to be clean. There was inadequate lighting in the room. The water in the shower and the sink was cold. had to run the water for 20 minutes before getting hot water for the shower. Wasn't treated as a Hilton Honors member at all. Was extremely disappointed in this product.Will never stay here again. Not to mention all the homeless people in the area. This made me feel unsafe.

Quick trip with the kids for a downtown parade/ festival. Room was clean and comfortable, staff was very pleasant and professional. Hotel is very close to Market Square and Main Street so lots of restaurants and plenty of late night dining options. Nice get away, great location, very nice property.
