Booked hotel to take shuttle to George Brown convention center for three adults and one child. Unable to ride shuttle due to the five-year-old. Cars were in valet to avoid parking by convention center. We had to take Uber to and from for three days.
Very disappointed with restaurant on property food was below standard of fast food. Took order to go for spouse and found a hair in the order. Awaiting for refund. Not worth the cost.

The room was run down and the $75 nightly deposit was shocking. The place looks nice on the outside and have a nice outside bar but the room was dusty and had hair everywhere . I requested the room to be cleaned after two days and they never came. Bathroom is extremely small. They need to renovate everything.

Staff was accommodating, Great ambiance - The aroma of fresh roses wafted throughout the Property
Fixtures were a little tired,
To know fault of their own: street work going on that limited access to the Property.
Disappointed that one of the 3 restaurants was in a steakhouse considering I was in Houston.
We definitely stay with them again.

Breakfast is really good. It’s not the standard buffet fare, you actually get to order a proper main from the restaurant menu. I had a croissant breakfast sandwich one day and avocado toast the other. They will also wrap up breakfast to go if you are headed off.

The bed was super comfortable.

The room smelled like smoke the first day but this dissipated.

Rooms where dusty, coffee pots didn't work, Faucet leaked. The hallway smelled musty, I was totally shocked at the $50 dollars a day for parking! That would have cost more the rental car by double! The staff was really good and very polite, no complaints there at all! Food was good but limited.
Overall i would not recommend staying here!

I travel often for business and leisure, and this was one of the most disappointing stays I’ve experienced. We booked based on price, amenities, and reviews, while attending an event at the George R. Brown Convention Center, about 1.4 miles away.

Check-in was quick but cold and unprofessional. The room looked fine at first, but a closer inspection revealed stains on the toilet, mold on the curtains, a foul-smelling carpet, and missing essentials like shower gel and toilet paper. The room phone didn’t work, requests were ignored, and we had to go to the lobby ourselves. The lockbox was broken, the TV remote had no batteries, and the A/C drains into the shower, dripping water while you bathe.

The shuttle service is misleading and unacceptable. It does not allow people with diverse disabilities, is not ADA-compliant, does not allow service animals, pets, or even families with children, only adults. It only runs within 1 mile, forcing you to walk the rest, and operates strictly on the hour with zero flexibility. Pickup never happened despite repeated calls.

Staff showed no accountability. Housekeeping failed to restock basics, and requests were ignored. We ended up buying essentials ourselves.

This hotel is poorly maintained, poorly managed, and falsely advertised. Do not fall into this tourist trap. I would not recommend it and would have preferred a full refund.

Zero stars if I could.

Charged $50/day for parking just to stay in a room that was borderline uninhabitable. No fridge, loose jagged bathtub tiles (actual safety hazard), mold that looked painted over, and filthy, smelly carpet.

Hotel was “full,” so staff did nothing. No fix, no relocation, no accountability—just excuses because we booked third-party.

You’re not paying for a stay here—you’re taking a risk.

Avoid.

Old, run down hotel. Furniture is from way back , used excessively, old carpet , windows are so dirty you cannot see anything. Bathroom is old, the toilet is literally touching the bathtub and the toilet paper holder is unreachable unless you take it off the roll! The amenities (shampoo and soap) are disgusting & smell bad .

Be aware : the coffee shop advertised on thei own website is closed and never opens . The bar/breakfast/lunch/dinner is at the same one single location and coffee is NOT available until 7:30. Plus they are closed between 2-4 daily ! Nothing around the hotel for amenities or anything !

Overall : this is a place needing major overhaul & training of reception staff - who is clueless on how to run a hotel !

The hotel felt safe and the staff were lovely. The hotel does show it's age in some areas. You could tell the rooms had been repainted although there were paint splotched dried all around the room on the floor. Baseboard in the bathroom was broken and the missing spaces were a collection spot for dirt and debris. Besides the showing age, the rooms and hotels were clean and comfortable.
We enjoyed the pool, patio, and sitting areas in the lobby. It was a nice place to relax with the other people traveling with us.

The location is great! The staff is friendly, helpful and professional. Service in the restaurant is excellent. The only thing to complain about is the slower than slow. It’s not that bad unless you’re arriving or departing and unable to take the stairs. We will stay there again and recommend it. You won’t see the great price anywhere near downtown!

Hotel is beautiful. Front desk staff exceptional! Valet very nice. Room was spacious, clean. Bed very comfortable. Only issue was the restaurants. Bayou coffee didn't open at 7am as advertised. Part and Parcel had bar seating and table seating but you had to go to the bar to order. Edgar's Hermanos restaurant also had to order at bar. No table staff. I would have thought beautiful hotel would have a restaurant with someone who came to the table to take your order and check on you periodically. Made ordering more drinks ackward, so I didn’t. Had to stand at bar to close out tab.

The location is phenomenal and convenient. Some staff were as helpful as they are trained to be. Housekeeping was very friendly and helpful. Checking in the front desk attendant looked irritated we had our pet. She put us on thee ninth floor(our view of downtown Houston was nice) next door to the elevator then proceeded to ask, you're not leaving her alone right? Maybe I was wrong to assume that a family friendly hotel is exactly that. There are no microwaves (1st floor one is available) and or refrigerators in the rooms. We were not informed our room phone did not work. She had a lot of information to tell me but that. Half of our channels didn't work. Keurig was dusty. Glad my instinct lead me clean before truly settling down.There were a lot of little inconveniences that made it a bit more annoying as a family traveling. I did enjoy thee art on the walls. My personal experience and opinion I would not recommend it for families. I would not stay again.

Once you venture past the Lobby and reception areas, the hotel was generally all very tired and a bit scruffy. The Breakfast set up is a total joke, queuing at the bar to order, only one staff member taking orders and making all the coffees etc. After waiting for ages even the food was disappointing.

Pretty sure this place has a mold issue. Room smelled musty and when I woke up in the morning I could hardly breathe. Lobby is pretty, gym is OK but no mats. If you have mold allergies you may want to stay elsewhere. Room was pretty old and worn.

I can’t really see if there were shops nearby because we drove everywhere surface family. I didn’t see any pets, what I thought was crazy is that you had to pay $45 a night to valet your car also when we did check into a room I had dropped my phone cord on the floor when I went to pick it up in like one halfway under the bed when I pulled it out, there was a pair of dirty underwear under the bed so obviously housekeeping doing their job. We call downstairs They put us in another room but the other room the floor was buckling and the ceiling was peeling so they put us in another room the same thing what’s happening but not that bad so we ended up staying in that room.
Manager was amazing. He gave us $60 in vouchers to use in the restaurant/bar in the whole time. We should’ve gotten a free night but it is what it is what I recommended again yes

Overall the staff was incredibly friendly - I was very surprised by one woman at the front desk being rude. The rest of the front desk staff, the valet, the bartenders… everyone else was incredibly helpful & friendly & attentive. The lobby area & outside bar & restaurant were lovely with plenty of room for our family to gather. It’s very convenient to downtown Houston spots. I’ll definitely go back.

The hotel itself is clean and homey, but there is nothing in the area to do or walk to. Staff is friendly, you get a coupon for waiving housekeeping which was good incentive. But when I texted for extra coffee it never came. Restaurant has good food but our orders were consistently wrong and the staff seemed uninterested in working.

Friendly staff, unique property within driving distance of lots to do. $45/night valet parking is a bit steep but nice to have. Housekeeping frequently didnt replace all items, so had to ask front desk. Other than that it was a great place to spend the night.

We stayed here after our cruise and had a great experience overall. The room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and everything felt well maintained. We were especially impressed by the restaurant, both the food and atmosphere were excellent. Shirley, John, and the restaurant team were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which really made our stay even more enjoyable.
