This property is the worst. As a platinum member i will not recommend. I had a group of 9 persons and they were racially profiled and the bathroom was overflowing with water. the rooms were stink. the management did not care about customers.

The service was very slow. 2 hours for food or drinks, and power went out twice. Rooms seemed clean but it friend room wasn't. Their toilet broken, and mattress was disgusting. Plus no security locks on the door.

El lugar es muy bonito y acogedor, sin embargo carece de limpieza y mantenimiento en los aires acondicionados. Están sucios y sus filtros tapados. Esto provoca el pobre enfriamiento sino también alergias y enfermedades. Tampoco dan mantenimiento al área del baño especialmente a la ducha. Pequeñas cosas hacen una gran diferencia. Demasiados inconvenientes para dos noches.

There was no service. The receptionists were unfriendly and not knowledgeable. My key stopped working after one entry. I had to go to the reception each time to have it reset 5 times in two days. Last night at 23:30 I could not unlock the room and nobody was in the reception to help. It took me about 20 minutes to find a security guard to open the door. There was no hot water, and the toilet was not filling. The water kept running the whole night. Even when I told the receptionist no one came to check. The internet was awful. I am not going back and I would not recommend it to anyone. They sent me a message asking me to give them a good review. The other good reviews are probably becuause they have asked for. The only positive point is their restaurant and the nice lady who serves there. Otherwise it is waste of money.

Not the best area to be able to walk to points of interest. And the area around the hotel is very dirty and right off a main road but inside the property the hotel feels resort like with a garden and pool with a swim up bar. Pool was amazing and seating was conformable. And breakfast was great I recommend combo 4. I didn't like the rooms so much because the showers take about 4mins to heat up. Also the shower doesn't have a door/curtain to block water from getting all over the floor so bring shoes to walk around in bathroom. The hotel keys were the most annoying thing about the hotel. They barely work to the point that the staff told us that every time you come back to the hotel to bring it to them to reprogram the key. Even after it still a struggle to get in the room.

We booked this property six months in advance because we were going on a cruise. We got to the property and they didn’t have a reservation. Everybody that was walking in the door had reservations and they had nobody’s reservation three hours. We spent there they transferred us to another Hotel they found out we paid for it in advance. It was an awful experience.

Property was well kept albeit a bit simple, but a good value for the price. Food is ordinary, but ok for a short stay. 10-15 min taxi from the cruise port. Not near the beaches, so if that's your thing, look elsewhere. Also helps to be bilingual

This property is very good for a one night stay if you are boarding a ship in the nearby port. They have a pool and a restaurant and you don’t need to leave the compound. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Hotel is conveniently located at gateway to Romano, the rooms are large, clean and modern. Bed is comfortable. The pool is awesome with good music, food and drinks poolside. All hotel staff was amazing, friendly and professional including front desk, pool, cleaning, restaurant, security etc. Staying at the hotel was a highlight of a 12 day vacation in DR. I speak no Spanish and yet had no problems here.

There was no hot water in our room. We had to take cold showers. the mini bar was stalked with one bottle of water. There was only one towel in our room as well. We had to call the front desk several times. We went to the restaurant for breakfast and they only had one thing on the menu, and that was grilled cheese sandwiches for way too much money.

and wanted to chatge me for early check in when website says 2pm and i got there 2:30pm.
i have stayed there once before and its convenient,right at the entrance of town,also breakfast should be at 7am because people wants to start the day early and they start serving breakfast 7:30am.

For being one of the more expensive properties I expected alot more. Check in was a diaster with so much confusion, With so many rooms available, was put in aroom facing the parking lot. Only 1 towel in the room. Bar service was good by pool, but drinks over priced. Told mini bar was complimentary, the after consumed items, was told it was not part of the Expedia price and had to pay. They admitted to the mistake, but had to charge us?? Check out was long as well. Not recommended!!

When we first walked in the rooms (we booked 2 rooms), they smelled like raid. As if they put a whole can a raid into each room to kill bugs. I told the front desk clerk and asked to be moved. We were told, they had no more rooms available.

The second day there. I noticed tiny blood on the bed and my skin was itchy. I think I saw what looked like a bed bug. Let just say once we got home, I didn't even go in my room with my suitcase, and I removed all my clothes, even the ones I was wearing before walking in the house. I put the in the dryer on high heat for 3 hours. I also took at least 2 showers before hugging my kids.

Overall it has the potential to be a great hotel. I has great outdoor space. The restaurant, pool, Lounge area, and staff were great. But, they have to get rid of their bug problem. I will not go back there.

The hotel overall was ok. Nothing to be excited for and nothing to absolutely hate. The staff was unfriendly. Our key deactivated twice everyday we were there. The pool was nice but no towel service or any service for that matter. I have stayed in other places far better for the same price without the little hassles.

Hotel is good if you are in transit to somewhere else and don't want to drive by night. In general is good to spend the night an no more. Have the basics. wifi signal in my room was't present. The TV fail the last night. Hot water wasn't easy to get on the shower. The area is no good to walk, there is Multiplaza like 500 mts but it is recommended to go by car. I was aware I was picking a 3 star, but I have been in better places with this stars.

The bed linens smelled and had stains. Room was very dirty. Closet only had 3 hangers and I had to walk (because the room phone did not work)to the front desk to ask for an iron. The bathroom smelled like raw sewage the whole time and not a single drop of warm water to shower with.

Budget Hotel - Clean Rooms with some Shortcomings

The Good: Nice Bathroom. A/C works OK at night (Can't say during daytime, as we were out). Very Clean Room. Courteous Service by the Hotel Staff. Nice pool and common areas, even though they are a little small. Firm bed (Standard Queen Size).The breakfast is included.

The Bad: Surcharge for paying with the Credit Card.The Hotel converts the US$ amount to the local currency (RD$) with a very unfavorable exchange rate, which results in aprox 7% increase over the reserved price trough Hotels.com.
No hot water in the Bathroom. Skimpy breakfast (One scrambled egg+ two small ham pieces+ 2 small croissants + 1 small bun+ diluted fruit juice).

Overall, I would anyway recommend the Hotel for a short stay,with a few suggestions:1) before handing over the Credit Card, ask for the amount to be charged. Make the conversion to US$ and refuse to pay unless the amount matches the Hotels.com reservation. I regret I did not do it. 2) When the staff takes you to the room, check the hot water in the handwash & shower (If no hot water, ask for another room before unpacking. 3) If you need a big breakfast, skip the Hotel's breakfast and go the Food Court in the nearby Multiplaza Shopping Center. Having a car is also a must, the location is not convenient for walking.

Great for the price

I didn't know what to expect from this hotel. I've stayed in some similarly price hotels in the DR, and I would never stay in them again. This hotel exceeded my expectations. The room was clean, the A/C worked, The shower was pleasant, though there's no hot water, (It wasn't advertised so I assumed there wouldn't be.) We didn't use the pool, though it looks nice.
If you're willing to roll a little with the Dominican culture, you'll enjoy your stay. The first room the staff gave us was occupied. The second room had clothes and toiletries in it, though supposedly the people had checked out that morning. We just laughed, finally got a room on the third try and 5 minutes later, and all was great.

Very convenient. Great value accommodation.

This place is very convenient for my purpose. Room is a bit too tight. Bath room needs improvement, there was no soap and leaking from roof and pipe. Right side of the complex is very noisy, lots of machinery going on. Bed is FIRM.
Staff are nice. Restaurant and pool area are pleasant. JUST TOO MANY FLIES. Nice place overall. Its is a great value hotel.
PS I hope they stop calling it HOSTEL. Is scaring people away.

First, the hotel advertised jacuzzi. It has one but absolutely no hot water. Also, the water comes out so slow that it would have taken it at least a day to fill up. The tv had blow out speaks. The wired internet was extremely slow. We couldn't stream NetFlix or the Vikings game. The bed was very uncomfortable and by the end of the stay, I had bad back pain. The wall between the sleeping area and the bathroom was glass, so you could see people using the bathroom. The wall under the airconditioner was terrible. It was chipped away probably from the unit leaking but not being fixed. The key cards constantly stopped working and we would have to go all the way back to the desk to get it fixed. The hotel has a pool. Ice cold water!! The change rooms and bathrooms were all messed up. I went in to use the bathroom that said men and there was a woman in there using the stall. A very highly uncomfortable situation. The manager and cleaners were cleaning the pool bar area and rinsing that water right into the pool. They allowed people to come in with a day pass. A lot of noisy teens and kids! Terrible idea to allow extra people in. Discotec on site was never open. Pictures do not show things accurately. Reception and the restaurant constantly were asking us for change, they never had any. They told us there would be hot water. We stayed 6 days and it never came!!!

Hostal Silvestre is a very nice property near the Metroplex. The staff is very warm and friendly. We didn't speak Spanish as well as we would have liked, but their staff took the time to make sure they understood our requests. Very considerate and most appreciated.

Hostal Silvestre was clean and neat - an oasis in the center of La Romana. Most of the staff was friendly and helpful. The hot water was lacking since they use solar to heat the water, so it seemed limited. The hotel felt very secure. We would stay there again.

Room was not ready upon arrival and had to go out for it to be cleaned. There was water ponding on the shower since is pitching to the opposite side of the drain. After returning when they \"cleaned it\" the water was still there. Come on guys, the slope did not change in a morning, it's been like that since it was constructed.

Convenient and comfortable

I stayed only one night but it was worth the price. The free parking and laundry service is an added advantage that not many places are offering in Santo Domingo. The location is easy to find and safe.

You get what you pay for. The hotel is need of some attention. They gave me a room with no hot water and the shower head was spraying water all over the place cause it was broken. So when I went to request a room change they say no problem and gave me another room with no shower head broken but no hot water.

The hostel was a bit far from the last bus stop (a bus going from Higuey to La Romana) and we had to take a taxi from the last stop to the hostel for about $5 USD.
We were greeted by friendly staff, and the hostel had basic amenities. Things were clean but a little older. The faucet was leaking outside of the sink when turned on.
On the pro side, the staff is super friendly - from front desk to people at the restaurant. We asked a waiter to give us hot water for instant noodle and he took the cup in and cooked the noodles for us and served it on a plate with knives and forks. In the morning, the staff was very patient in helping us secure the cheapest way to go to Cuevas de las maravillas and Althos de Chavon.

Leaves something to be desired

This hotel has potential to be just right but improvements must be made. Service is slow and uncoordinated. Rooms are comfortable but electricity and AC goes off when you are not there. Breakfast options are limited and inflexible. Security is good but if you plan on returning late let them know ahead of time.

I made online reservations but they didn't have them and couldn't find them. Automatically, I was checked into a more expensive room. I spent 45 minutes checking into the room I reserved but door had issues coding keys. I asked them to move me to a room that would accept a key card and I was moved to a 3rd room. The rooms were clean and most of the staff were pleasant. The day check in clerk needs some hospitality training as she didn't cordially acknowledge the patrons with a basic hello or good morning.

A dona do hotel e os funcionários são muitos prestativos, tem uma piscina maravilhosa , as meninas do bar fazem um drink de Pina Colada que nunca tomei outro tão bom quanto . O que não gostei foi não ter uma máquina de café expresso e meu namorado é argentino e gosta muito de comprar café expresso. Mas o deixou a desejar foi o café da manhã muito fraco sem frutas, tínhamos que escolher um menu e acabei comendo todos os dias , panqueca com ovos mexidos e café coado e o espaço do café da manhã estava todo reservado para uma congregação cristã dos EUA. A localização é um pouco feio o lugar , aconselho a não ficar andando a pé , nos sentimos inseguros e pegamos Uber porque tem um shopping e mercado perto . Escolhemos o hotel porque fica perto do Porto que iríamos embarcar em um cruzeiro !

O que foi acertado com a recepcionista no momento do check-in/reserva sofreu tentativa de alteração unilateral posterior. Queriam nos mudar de quarto ou cobrar um valor maior.
O hotel é bom, nada demais, mas bom. Contudo, afastado da cidade em si. Qualquer saída eram 30 min de carro.
