We stayed the night before our cruise. $25 cab ride away from airport and from cruise terminal. Cabbie did not recognize hotel name as it was called something else. Staff did not speak English but check in was easy. Rooms were a good size. Very basic amenities. Just a bed and a table and chair ( I think). No towels in room. I think there was a small soap. Front desk guy went to find some towels for us. Bathroom was poorly lit and slightly moldy. Water was cold. Breakfast was eggs, toast, juice and coffee. Staff member serving was friendly.

All rooms that were booked through expedia were double booked.No rooms were available. No one spoke english at the counter, which made it very difficult to sort out. Went to another hotel and expedia will not refund my money as hotel will not return their communication

It took us almost 3 hrs. to get checked in.
Of the 5 rooms that we got only one had a shower that worked. One of the rooms toilet seat was broken. Our room only had one electric outlet and it was up near the ceiling. There was black mold on the ceiling. Phone hanging down on the wall. Closet ceiling had holes in it.
The positive things, where the Beds, they were clean comfortable, They served us Breakfast (Eggs, Toast and Juice)

There was no room available. They said they were overbooked. However staff vey helpful and moved us over to Hotel Olympia two buildings away and paid more. I booked way ahead in Jan for our Feb 3rd stay but waited an hour to be told there is no room! Not happy that they were overbooked and did not inform us ahead of time!

I felt like I had a room outside in the streets assigned to me. The noise and traffic is heard day and night. There is no hot water and there is no dinner available in the hotel as they said there is a restaurant on site but only for breakfast.

The hotel crew does not speak English so they use an app translator. When i arrive at the hotel they did not acknowledge me standing snd waiting to check in. The room assigned to me was shy on cleaning. There was hair in the drawers and spider webs living there. Old and outdated. However the bed was the only thing that was comfortable snd clean. The door to the room was not fully secure.

The neighborhood was commercial and if you looking for something to eat you need to take a taxi. Did not feel too safe. WiFi was good

There was no hot water for 5 days. The TV channel was out of service for three days in my room. I reported this issue on the first day. This hotel is broken down. It needs new management. The reception lacks training; they are loud late at night, and sometimes there is noise in the hallways. I would not recommend this hotel to a friend.

My stay at the hotel was quite disappointing. The cleaning of the rooms was mediocre, and the showers in the bathrooms were malfunctioning. I had to change rooms three times during my stay, and each one had issues with the bath, including backed-up drains and low water pressure in the shower.
The restaurant offered the same breakfast every day: plantains with eggs, cheese, or pork chops. For lunch, the only option was the Dominican Flag, which consists of white rice, chicken, and beans. Dinner was almost identical to breakfast. The food at the restaurant was very simple, and it seemed that the manager lacked hospitality experience and did not adequately supervise the staff after their shifts.
The hotel needs new, proactive management that pays attention to detail. For instance, a worker folds guest room towels on top of the lobby couch, where people sit. This practice is quite unhygienic. Additionally, staff play music in the reception area daily, which adds to the disorder due to the lack of supervision.
On a positive note, the location of the hotel is excellent.

Pros: Perfect place if you are looking for a well distributed shopping mall, public office, clinic and recreation.

Cons: very shy with room cleaning. Spider webs everywhere. Front desk staff seems to be used to locals only so they not so friendly.

The hotel has a good location and it’s close to stores. The area is a bit dangerous due to traffic. The staff is excellent and very helpful, but sometimes forgot to send us clean towels. The room was a bit dirty and we found some socks under the bed that weren’t ours. A few thing in the room were dirty, but the rest was clean. All windows a shut for security reason, so the room is very dark. Breakfast had very limited selections, but the food was good. A few things broke down that made the experience a bit uncomfortable.

The hotel has a lot of potential. It just needs a little love.

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. Comfortable bed nestled in a cozy and clean room. All the staff that I encountered were courteous and helpful. The only drawback for me was that the tv channel selection wasn’t very good.

My husband used to stay at this hotel 2 to 3 times a year growing up. I had stayed with him here about 3 years ago and it was such a good experience. We decided to come back this year and we found out management had changed. Unfortunate, not for the best. Some of the staff, obviously did not want to be there with the exception of staff that had been there prior to the change. We were given 3 different rooms either because one was too dangerous for a child, other only had 1 bed when our booking was for 2, and the other the AC was not functioning. Our final room plumbing and water pressure was poor. We are sadden to say we wont be staying here anymore.

The location of the hotel is good, we dint like the hotel service, the building is very outdated, the rooms are so old, the bathroom doesn’t have enough water, but worse thing is the service that they offer, specifically from the hotel manager. The entire personal need training in customer service. In one day they moved us to four different rooms, that’s how bad the hotel is, the restaurant food is horrible, I never had been in a worse place, and I do a lot of traveling, I do not recommend this hotel at all, nice pictures on line but the reality is totally different

Ese hotel es una mentira lo venden con el nombre de hotel la romana center y en realidad el nombre es hotel frano lo anucian con desayuno buffet incluido y tienen una pura basura pan tostado sin queso ni jamón y café yo me enojes y le reclamé y me dieron huevo hervido y todas las personas que estaban se estaban quejando nadie habla inglés el de recepción cuando llegamos nos dijo qué como no opedabamos hay qué el trabaja ahí y ni muero se quedaba ahí

El aseo de la habitación estuvo bien, eso un punto a favor, en la recepción había un muchacho en las noches, era increíblemente desatento, se notaba que no le gusta ese trabajo, realmente un mal elemento para esa empresa, los dos meseros que nos sirvieron desayuno, un hombre obeso grande el primer día (doy esta descripción para que no se vaya a confundir con otro) y la mesera del segundo día. Se nota que son personas que no quieren estar trabajando ahí. Estuvimos en un tour por república...y estás personas fueron nuestra peor experiencia

We killed about 7-8 cockroaches in the room and bathroom. The bathroom and toilet conditions were very bad. The TV in the room wasn't working. The sound insulation was zero. We couldn't sleep because of the noise from the motorcycles on the street and the people inside the hotel. When I went down for breakfast, I left immediately after seeing a cockroach on the dining table. I absolutely do not recommend it!
