parking lot is outside, not sure there’s any security there. lobby is very small and during check in it’s extremely crowded. The girl who did my check in on Friday was very nice. No one took me to my room or helped me with my bags. Most of the staff is extremely nice and helpful. The building I stayed in was not in the best condition, I was in the top floor, you could see filtration in the halls. The room was okay, I’d say the decoration was minimalistic. I’d say the room was clean 3/5 the bathroom floor was stained and so were the bed sheets. TV and wifi did not work in the room. The direct view of the ocean was worth paying for and the hammock was the cherry on top. Extremely comfortable. I would go back for the view and hammock hahaha. When it comes to the food, it’s 2/5 most food was not the best and I had some pancakes on Saturday morning that were bad, either the batter went bad or they used something on it that made them bitter. Very sad. Also, scrambled eggs with ham in them?! Why?! I’m sad to say I left a lot of the food on the plate on every meal because it just wasn’t right. The alcoholic beverages were 1/5 maybe the beer was good but I don’t drink beer, coctels never tasted right and even the pina colada was wrong. Very sad. The snack bar was good, always had food, hot dogs, burgers, fries. It was acceptable (cheap meat you could taste). The food truck was cool, they have a bigger variety of snacks but only one cook, very long line. No waiters outside main buffets

This was our second stop in Dominican Rep we were coming from a 5 stars resort in Bavaro where we had a great experience.

At HM Food, the main buffet was repetitive but acceptable, the grilled meat was a safe every day, chicken or beef, fruits not the best i ate in Dominican Republic. Italian rest honestly to be avoided, Dominican rest better but I’m not sure if I got poisoned there.

We booked a room with ocean view and the view was spectacular in particular at the sunset, cleaning and dimensions of the room were acceptable and we had a fantastic hammock on the balcony that was a great spot, bad of the room air conditioning and fridge extremely noisy and hot water one day yes and one day no, no idea why

Provide a review about the animation team is very personal, in my opinion more than entertaining the guys were flirting with the girls and not paying attention to other customers, there’s few activities and no one is reaching out to include you, the evening shows like magicians and dancing groups were good but everything ends at 11 pm that in my opinion was too early on holiday

The pools were okay, the sea for non-expert swimmers better to avoid, no fish or tortoises to see under the water so you won’t really miss anything.

We had horrible experience at the checkout with the uber drivers, they were accepting book but asking to cancel it to charge more on cash,we have been forced to accept

Overall is an acceptable low cost resort basically you get for what you pay.

Pillows on beds that probably never get washed, and dusty ceiling fans, and some pools had paint chips peeling off them with mold underneath. Other than that loved the pools. And the views and the quick shuttle to and from the beach. Staff was so nice.

I expected soft bread I could’ve broken my teeth biting that the food didn’t give it was made from a Dominican person. the service needs a little work but it was good staff was good. thank you for the experience!

The room was beyond my expectations! Very spacious, clean, the view to the pool and ocean it was worth capturing a picture every morning and night. The food selection was not so good. My best meal was at the excursion. It was authentic Dominican food! Entertainment was not the greatest. There was really nothing to do. Overall I rate 3-4. Would I return? Probably not. But I will say get your own experience.

The seating outside in lobby had mold on it. The staff didn’t seem to know any English at all. Cats, which I’m allergic to, allowed to sit and lay on furniture in public areas. Ceiling leaking in 1 room. We stayed only 1 nite because it was so bad and they only refunded a small portion back instead of refunding us for the nights we didn’t stay, which was March 14-18th. The WiFi barely worked and kept dropping so we couldn’t keep in contact with elderly family member. The lights went out in the property due to electrical issues. We were eating in the dark so if bugs or whatever was in our food, we wouldn’t have known because we couldn’t see in the dark. It was a horrible experience and to not be reimbursed properly made it that much worse. The hotel lied and said it was up to Expedia to determine the refund amount. This wasn’t true. The hotel didn’t want to reimburse us all of it because they wanted the free money.

I would not give this resorts a 4 star
Room where clean but old
Staff didn’t not speak much English

The checking in is at 3 and even if the rooms are ready you can’t go in before
People where waiting hours to get in to there room and by then was 4 pm
Restaurant not a true restaurant they are all set up in a covered area a night and is a sitting area in the day

The resort was great. Room was clean but decorative pillows on the bed could have been cleaner. Staff were helpful and friendly. Food at buffet and snack options were plentiful and always tasted good. Quite a few vegetarian options, never left feeling hungry. We had a negative experience at the Italian à la cart where we waited a long time and the server brought us our dessert before our dinner, then eventually after bringing the dinner never returned with dessert. We went to the buffet for dessert instead. The food that we did have at the à la carte was still pretty good. This was a rare experience of poor service and we didn’t let it affect our enjoyment. Drinks were good and we had no problem with the bar rack alcohol quality. New welcome cocktail served at every meal. Coffee was good. Trail next to the resort that leads to Bayahibe is fun, free shuttle bus to Dominicus beach was great. Pools at the resort were lovely too. Crabs at the wall of the sea around sunset were lovely. A decent amount of entertainment with the resort becoming quieter around 11pm felt just right. This might not be your typical *spring breakers* resort and for us that was great. All in all we felt good about our stay here and may someday return.

Shower head did not work told front desk did nothing. Men’s bathrooms smelled dirty door not off for two days thrn put one that didn’t fit right coffee stains up the stairs they clean once a day . Told all inclusive them get there charge for towels for pool and beach .alcohol was bottom tier junk . When ask to buy better packages said no but a bottle full price like back home shots and bottle beer us prices high food disgusting very small entertainment. My wife was getting a massage a guy came up twice to the booth talking to the lady while my was laying there top less . If you want to buy top tier you have to go to front desk pay then go back to the bar every time. No one speaks good English Al all !!!! The sushi restaurant no good and it’s American prices . The other 2 restaurants horrible 80 percent of the people eat with us went to the buffet to eat because how bad and little amount of foods ask for manager multiple times never got one till I lost it with th watching my wife get a massage ! The only good thing about the place is the pools and the view. And don’t put food down in your room bugs on it in seconds . Also they go threw your stuff I put tape on top of the closet doors where are stuff was when can back in the room it was off both sides

Very nice pools! Very good food! Staff wonderful! Large Morning coffee table would've been nice centrally located! The entertainment music was repetitive and would've liked to have seen more of a variety of different types of music for dancing. Their fire show was excellent!
And I thought it was nice that they had exercising in one of the pools every day. And a nice weight room.

My husband and I just returned home from our stay at HM Alma De Bayahibe and I can't say enough great things about this property. For starters, it is absolutely beautiful. The large salt-water infinity pools overlooking the Caribbean sea make sunsets an absolute dream. The food at the buffet was always very tasty, although at times some of the dishes could have been warmer. The 2 included a la carte restaurants (Alma - Dominican; & Anima - Italian) were fantastic!. We also dined at Tamashi which is the Japanese/Sushi restaurant that is not included in the all-inclusive plan, and our meal was not only delicious but relatively inexpensive. The rooms were clean & modern. The staff throughout the resort were extremely friendly and accommodating. We did have an issue with our room where one of the wall panels fell down, however when we reported it to the staff, instead of just opting to fix it, they upgraded our room complete with a complimentary fruit platter & bottle of champagne, and also provided us with massages for each of us!

The entertainment staff was a lot of fun and had us dancing every afternoon & again in the evening. If you're looking for a party spot, this is probably not the resort for you, as everything ends at 11pm - however it was perfect for us. Definitely a great place to go if you're looking to relax! We will definitely be returning!

Beautuful ocean and grounds..thats definitely the highlight and why we chose this resort.

Customer service was lacking. Non-attentive.
I didnt expect food to be great because that isn't what we expected. But food wasnt tasty and food at buffet was served luke warm to cold.
We got sick on 2 separate occasions.
Wine selection was either white or red.
If you wanted pinot noir for example there waa an up charge
Coffee was typical breakfaat coffee. They did have a cappuccino machine but it was a powdery mixture.
.when i asked for iced tea waiters looked at me like they never heard of it.
At one point i ordered diet coke and by the time the soda came we.were done with our.meal.
Waiter would walk by with water pitcher and wouldn't refill your glass unless you asked.
Staff was indifferent and inattentive
When waiting in line atbat, bartenders played favorites and served people who were behind you..happened multiple times.

The entertainment director was non attentive and seemed like she wohkd rather be somewhere else..and there wasn't much entertainment to speak of.

Now to the room for some inexplicable reason the water was shut off around midnight.
Management wanted to fumigate the room during the day and had to go to front desk to say no.
Room was sterile no decorations.

The resort cut corners at every oppportunity

Do your homework; there are lots of resorts within minutes of this including Windham don dom

Overall I would give this a solid 3 star+ resort - almost to 4 star - I am gluten free so I was concerned but although the food wasn’t labelled- I had non problem finding g gluten free alternatives - alcohol (wine) was really limited and questionable ( I am not a wine snob) so I had to pivot - room we had was amazing - would definitely recommend

We arrived and did not receive the room we booked. They gave us an absolutely horrible room upon arrival…tiny, dingy, puny balcony overlooking a roof! We complained and immediately we were told that they could upgrade us. This should’ve been free since it was their problem they didn’t give us the room we paid for. Instead they brought us to a nicer room and tried to charge us $80 US per night more! We were so tired we agreed to pay them $450 US more for the week! They did exactly this to 3 other sets of tourists we met the week we were there!! That’s criminal!!! Also most of the staff were unfriendly, spending as much time on their phones as serving guests. We were made to feel as though we were bothersome. Never going back! Other tourists be warned of the room scam they’ve got going when you arrive!

La fenetre de la chambre était brisé donc l'air humide de dehors entrait. innaceptable pour un hotel. Les chambres non prête avant 15h pour tous c,est impossible. Bon menu au buffet mais impossible de réserver au resto à la carte pour le meme jour mais nous avions seulement 1 soir ici. serait bien d'avoir quelques places de disponibles pour les gens qui sont la seulement une soirée. Bruit de musique le soir en se couchant. belle grande piscine. PAS assez de chaises pour tous :(

la chambre était une chambre fumeur, c'était épouvantable l'odeur de cigarette qu'elle avait, heureusement ont à réussi à me trouvé une autre chambre, elle était beaucoup mieux pour l'odeur mais il y avait de petits moucherons dans la salle de bain.... à l'extérieur c'était bien mais ce fut difficile de se trouvé une chaise longue. pour ce qui est du buffet, rien d'exceptionnel.... une chance nous y avons passé qu'une seule journée

This is rated as a 4 star and it's barely a 2 star. It's unkept loaded with mold and roaches. The HM Stands for HUGE MISTAKE. READ THE GOOGLE REVIEWS IN THE PAST YEAR. It has over 200 1 and 2 star reviews. The food had bugs all over it. We had to go off property to get food because it was that dirt and bad. Btw it's not all inclusive it's particularly inclusive. STAY AWAY

They had assigned us a room with one king size bed for my 25 year old nephew and I, I obviously requested a change for a room with 2 beds. At 5:30 PM we assigned the very last room in the oldest part of the hotel, next to the street in front of the hotel, every morning we were woken by Roosters just outside our window and the buses and trucks who would reverse into a parking spot or do whatever they were doing with their backup indicators blaring, again between 5:30 and 6:00.
Now for the food, it was terrible! Dry, tasteless, and obviously unhealthy, I was sick for 3 days starting on my last evening on the resort. Obviously I was not impressed and my star ratings are generous, if there was a poor + or a good - I would have chosen that rating.

This property did not meet expectations.

The photos on the website do not reflect the current condition of the resort. Although my room had the partial sea view as booked and was clean, it was outdated and in need of renovation. The bed was uncomfortable, and basic amenities such as a hair dryer, lotion, shampoo, and shower cap were not provided. The satellite TV was almost entirely in Spanish, with very limited English channels. Privacy was also an issue, as guests from a nearby building could see directly into the bathroom.

The food at the buffet was repetitive, bland, and generally unappealing, with the exception of the salad bar and fresh juices. We frequently chose to eat off-property, including in La Romana, where the local seafood was excellent.

Staff were friendly and helpful, though most spoke little to no English. Entertainment and activities were minimal, and seating around the pools and beach was insufficient for the number of guests.

Overall, the resort has potential but requires significant upgrades. Based on my experience, I would not choose to stay here again.

The hotel layout and design is beautiful, with nice sea front, pools and bar areas. The rooms are very modern and comfortable. There is good snorkelling in the sea, we really enjoyed this.
On the other hand the food and drink are more average, the buffet quality being poor given the fantastic local fruit and vegetables available. The free drinks are also limited, with poor wine and over sweet cocktails (good local beer). The staff are helpful but not very friendly and the checking in experience is a bit chaotic. It was busy, a bit overcrowded when we were there - we only stayed 2 nights and could not get into the 2 free restaurants, but we did pay to eat in the Japanese restaurant which was very good.

We had a lovely stay at HM Alma Bayahibe. The rooms were clean, the staff was courteous and best of all.. the food was excellent!! The buffet was always full of tasty choices, and we were lucky enough to experience their beautiful Christmas eve dinner which was spectacular!! The pools are filled by the ocean and there is ocean access to swim off the reef. Best of all is the Sushi restaurant. It's hands down the best Sushi restaurant anyone in my party has experienced. Marguerita our server was an absolute delight. I will recommend this stay to everyone I know. Thank you for a perfect vacation!

Overall I had a great experience all of the staff was really nice especially if you tried to speak their language (remember we are in their country). Daniel and Aribella were always smiling and friendly! The room was nice I didn't expect to get a partial ocean view so that was great! I loved how every morning I could wake up and jump into the Caribbean without having to go anywhere (I would trade a beach for this any day). The food choices were plentiful with different options - Buffett, food truck, snack shop and 3 restaurants. There were a few slight snags (air conditioning dripped water) but staff fixed right away, remember you get what you paid for.

Room was clean. Upon arrival the language barrier was a problem. We were given a room right away but luckily security took our bags and escorted us to the room and there was someone already in it. From then on it was over 2 hours before we could get another room and that was only because two gentlemen we travelled with got a room with a king bed but required two beds. We suggested getting the king bedroom ourselves and that worked out. However, we did not get the balcony we paid for, just a simple window. We were done with trying to change rooms however. Other than having no balcony, the room was very nice.

Beds are rock solid. Food was horrible at best. The staff was awesome tho which was the only saving grace. We ended up eating out for lunch and dinner every night after one person in our group got violently ill and ended up in the hospital. They also refused to give our towel deposit back even tho we had the cards they had giving us cause they lost our info in their towel registry…. Your better off renting a van for the week and sleeping with the 200 stray cats in the area

Mi estadía en el HM Alma de Bayahibe del 26 de noviembre de este año comenzó bastante bien: el check-in fue rápido y las áreas comunes lucían cuidadas. También quiero destacar que algunos empleados fueron muy amables durante nuestra estancia, como Esterlin en la barra de la piscina, el equipo del bufet, el muchacho del food truck y el señor que nos vendió la excursión a Altos de Chavón, quien nos envió con Dennis, un joven excelente que nos complació en todo el camino y nos trató muy bien.

Sin embargo, la experiencia cambió al llegar a la habitación. El aire acondicionado no funcionaba; pensamos que podía ser algo de programación y decidimos esperar, pero al día siguiente seguía igual. Cuando lo reportamos, nos comentaron que ese aire ya había sido reportado previamente. Esa noche fue casi imposible dormir del calor, y aunque había abanico de techo, el aire que tiraba era caliente. Además, en esa misma habitación encontramos una cucaracha, algo que no llegamos a reportar por olvido, pero que definitivamente indica que deberían reforzar la fumigación.

Ya molestos, regresamos a recepción y solo por insistencia logramos que nos cambiaran de habitación. Si no lo hubiéramos exigido, probablemente hubiéramos pasado toda la estadía en un “sauna”.

Al día siguiente nos dijeron que fuéramos a solicitar una compensación. La “compensación” fue un desayuno en la habitación a las 8:00 a.m… desayuno que nunca llegó. Yo pedí una devolución parcial del dinero, pero nos dijeron que no traba

Unfortunately, my recent trip to HM Alma de Bayahibe was quite a letdown, primarily due to the state of the facilities. The resort is definitely on the older side and is in serious need of a makeover. Many areas feel dated and worn, which detracts significantly from the \"all-inclusive\" experience.
A major source of discomfort was the room's sleeping arrangement. The sofa bed was noticeably old and extremely uncomfortable, making for very restless nights. The resort needs to urgently upgrade this furniture to match modern comfort standards.
Another area that fell short was the service in the dining areas. While the food was adequate, the restaurant servers lacked any discernible personality or warmth. The interactions felt purely transactional, missing the kind and welcoming spirit that makes a vacation memorable.
However, there were a few saving graces that made the stay bearable. The air-conditioning worked perfectly, which was essential for combating the heat. Furthermore, the view from the room was lovely and relaxing. Lastly, the front desk staff were exceptionally helpful and efficient, standing out as the highlight of the resort's service team.
While the front desk and air conditioning were positives, the overall dated condition of the property and the cold service in the restaurants made this a disappointing stay that I would not repeat without significant renovations.

The room ( partial ocean view) was great with nice balcony, staff was very friendly, view and grounds were nice. Bus to beach and beach was good too. Food was not so good, in fact it made my companion sick one day. We didnt drink any alcohol so cant blame that. Overall we got what we paid for, since it was super inexpensive. Liked the activities and the pools on the ocean. Cleanliness in the room was just ok. Bed was comfortable. Shower was just ok. The food might need some more attention, but again, worth what we paid for it.

This hotel is beautiful and the staff great, the fact that you can swim in the ocean is amazing and the sunset there is breathtaking. I read such a bad reviews about the food that I wasn’t even thinking about eating there but the food was good, a lot fruits and natural drinks to choose from, many good food options to please anyone. I decided to go because of the venue itself and I’m very glad I did because it’s a beautiful place a very affordable price.

Overall, it was a great property clean, nice, and well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I did have a few hiccups along the way, and not everything went perfectly, but the team handled things professionally and made sure I was comfortable. Definitely a more relaxing type of resort.
