Dreams Dominicus La Romana was very disappointing!!! Trip started out okay… The hotel is definitely not as nice as Dreams Onyx but the weather was beautiful. Then the food poisoning began… We of course did not use the tap water, however, staggered throughout the week 9/10 of us vomiting/diarrhea. I am the lome survivor but I ate bread/butter and bottled water the entire trip. I felt nauseous the entire time and took lots of zofran. Other guests reported similar issues to ours. The hallway leading to my Preferred Club Swim out room smelled of sewage. Anytime we went to get our beach towels, none were to be found… Something is wrong here… Stay away until they can figure out the source of food contamination!

Good entertainment in the evening.
Food was ok. My suggestion would be that à la carte restorant should offer a better quality food compared to the buffet. In some evenings we noticed that some food options were better cooked at the buffet.

The resort was AMAZING! We had such a wonderful time. The beach was crystal clear, a little cold when you first step in but afterwards exquisite! Our butler was the BEST, Juan Alejandro, he was so so helpful to us. If we needed a special arrangement he took care of it, we needed lounge chairs and the beach, he took care of it, when we wanted to reserve Bali beds, he took care of it. He was also so friendly and warm towards us, that makes a big difference. Our housekeeper, Kenio, was also amazing. She made sure our room was not only clean but made it special for us when we would return from the beach. Rose petals, wine bottle, etc. Even the bellhop was amazing! Mauricio, was a ball to talk to and so friendly!
Everyone we encounter was super friendly!
That being said, the only downside was our room was outdated. We reserved the Preferred king pool side room, the pool was good but we didn’t use it because the because was stupendous! The room need some updated! Other than that we had an awesome time. I would highly recommend this resort!

The access into the ocean from the beach was excellent. Proximity of swim up pool to ocean was great. Resort was very clean. Good service. Occasionally had a hot water issue. Loved the preferred club restaurant by the beach. Could use more seating for some night time other than the big show. Add more tables to lobby bar for example. You can't really call the sports bar a sports bar.

La animación no era la mejor. En términos de comida, no tuvimos la mejor experiencia, comida fría. En el restaurante francés, esperamos más de lo usual ya que dieron nuestros platos a otra mesa.
En la habitación había limo en el baño. Además varias cucarachas. Encontramos ropa de huespedes anteriores debajo de la cama, denotando la falta de limpieza.

Todo muy bien en la estadía, el personal muy amable y profesional en especial Gustavo, que nos atendió personamente muy bien durante toda la estadía y Mauricio que muy atento tambien llevaba a mis padres que son mayores a todos los lugares del hotel. Lo unico malo fue para la cena de año nuevo que teniamos reservado a una hora y nos dieron la mesa una hora despues ya que no habia espacio.

Desde nuestra experiencia, mientras una parte del personal trabaja dando lo mejor de sí, otra parte del mismo hacen lo contrario, como por ejemplo la gerente del Spa quien presenta un deplorable trato al huesped y ademas denota falta de competencia para la posicion que ocupa. Sin embargo tambien está Merihan, de servicio al huesped, quien presentó un profesionalismo y una empatía resaltables y que, en cierta medida, sirvió para rescatar lo negativo recibido de otras áreas. La cena del 31 de diciembre, vendida como algo memorable, fue realmente todo menos eso; definitivamente que la cena del bufé estaba mucho mejor. La animación muy pobre, con un equipo de empleados que parecían estar locos por irse todos los días. La limpieza excelente; la calidad de la comida muy buena, el restaurante francés nos encantó. El lugar es muy lindo y la playa preciosa.

The resort was beautiful, we stayed in a Preferred Club family suite which included access to exclusive areas and restaurants at the resort which was worth the extra amount. The preferred club food options were consistently better than the other food offerings. Beach was great - was usually able to get spots just fine. It would have been nice to get away from the constant music which tended to be on the loud side. Service was good - there did seem to be somewhat rude service but we weren’t sure if that was more of a cultural thing or not.

The Hotel was excellent right from the entry, to the beautiful suite we got, courteous and always smiling staff, the World Cafe, which had a good selection of Vegetarian Food and the evening entertainment events everything was A+. We were group of 5 families traveling together
and the kids enjoyed the Kayak and other activities. The bright sunny beach and the wonderful sunny weather was Cherry on top, specially coming from cold weather. We all enjoyed a memorable vacation and have definitely put on a few pound with all the delicious food. Just one caution, please avoid regular tap water or ICE, we were requesting bottled water in the hotel and the hotel staff gladly provided each time we asked for it.

This was my first time staying at an all-inclusive resort, so I didn’t have anything to compare it to and wasn’t sure what to expect. Overall, I really enjoyed the convenience of having all meals and drinks included. The buffet restaurants were decent, though not great. However, the Italian and French restaurants on the second floor were both surprisingly good for an all-inclusive.

The staff throughout the resort were very kind and accommodating. Since I booked through Expedia, I also had my own concierge, who I could contact via WhatsApp and meet in person when needed, which was a nice added bonus.

Unfortunately, I did have a very negative experience at the spa. It was the worst massage I’ve ever had. My masseuse barely spoke English, which led to some communication issues. She was extremely hard on the pressure and I felt she should have been able to recognize my body language even though she wasn’t fluent in English. Within two hours, I had noticeable bruising on my arms and one side of my back. I was very upset because I felt I overpaid for the quality of service I received. After the massage, they had me fill out a survey which I rated as “okay”. After learning about my experience, my personal concierge reached out to me. I explained what happened and sent her photos. She handled the situation very kindly and was able to resolve it for me the next day, which I truly appreciated.

I do have a comment however about a potential safety hazard with a walkway connecting the \"Preferred Bldg\" to the Main bldg. There are two steps which need to be marked and lighted because if you are not looking down, you will trip. One step approaches the stairway and the other is a step that shows up after you think you have
finished with all the steps.

We loved our stay at Dreams Dominicus! Our room was perfect, with a view of the ocean and very central and easy to walk everywhere. We had a suite with a pool which was maintained well each day. The beach and ocean in this area is absolutely gorgeous. The Kids Club was super well organized and such a gem for parents trying to enjoy adult activities at the resort. Unfortunately we happened to fall ill during this trip, but our concierge Carlos was amazing and helped coordinate runs to the pharmacy and even provided us with pedialyte during our stay. We would definitely recommend to others and intend to come back one day!

Food is very good. I love that guests get to enjoy all restaurants without having to make reservations. The only thing we had issues with was with the smoking. They don’t have smoke free zones nor designated smoke zones. It is pretty much permitted everywhere in the resort, so if you don’t smoke, have health issues, or have small children, you’ll just have to keep up with it as there are no regulations around it- people smoke next to you (and your children) at the beach, pool, night shows, etc. We just couldn’t escape it.

The resort is drop dead gorgeous. Everything from the pools, the gardening, the rooms are all top notch. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The buffet restaurants at the Flying Fish and the international buffet were exceptional. My wife and I were disappointed in their so-called upgrade French and Italian restaurants. We are lifelong NYers and travel a decent amount including a good deal of cruising and didn’t feel these were up to par. We discussed this with management and they were very open, understanding and seemingly very willing to make some changes, which will take some time. People who are sun and beach lovers will I think marvel at the place. As we still have other places we truly want to visit we may or may not get back here, but we are seniors in our seventies, so time is limited. But we loved it and hope to visit again!

I really enjoyed the property overall and had a great experience on most days. The beach was absolutely stunning, soft sand and such a relaxing atmosphere, which made the trip truly special. I also loved the nightly performances; they were fun, lively, and added so much entertainment to our stay.

That said, there were a few areas that could be improved. The restaurant waiting times were consistently poor, and when meals did arrive, the service often felt rushed. The constant pressure to book spa services each day also became a little overwhelming. Additionally, I didn’t feel the Preferred Club offered much value, as it didn’t seem particularly worth it.

Overall, I had a wonderful time, especially enjoying the beach and entertainment, but I think with a few service improvements the experience could be even better.

Out of everything I loved the staff at this resort, the attention was immaculate. Honorable mention to Carlos (our butler), Wilson from the main buffet restaurant, Luigi the bartender, Josting. All the bartenders and waiters that I interacted with were amazing and also the entertainment staff. Everyone was super helpful and friendly.
While there are a few things that could be improved, overall I had a good experience and would definitely recommend.
Getting the VIP package is absolutely worth it.

The property is beautiful, the staff is friendly and hard-working. The beach is one of be he BEST, so calm, clear and just perfect. There’s not much of a night life which is fine since I am more of an early bird. The food was good and our favorite was the French restaurant (Randy was wonderful). The morning buffet had plenty of breakfast options. The omelet station, bread and fresh fruit were out favorite.

The room was gorgeous with a huge balcony and plenty of amenities. I would stay here again.

My family and I choose Dreams Dominicus because the listing gave us a family-friendly vibe. We were not disappointed -- the staff (including our concierge Merihan) went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and at home. They paid outstanding attention to us and especially to our 2 and 3 year old sons. Also, the dining options were very good... even their red (merlot) and white (chardonnay) house wines hit the spot. However, one shouldn't be fooled by the family friendly atmosphere as Dreams' night-life is also a fun experience. We enjoyed ourselves and hope to visit again.

The place is magical and the foods are good. The restaurants is Better than the buffet. Personal sometimes is friendly but there are many that are rude or don’t care about you when you need something. The kids club is amazing !
