✨ Wonderful Stay at Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus ✨

I absolutely loved my stay at Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the beautiful architecture — it truly feels like a charming Caribbean village with so much character and warmth.

The food was excellent with a great variety, and everything was fresh and delicious. One of my favorite parts of the resort was the unique garden — so lush, peaceful, and perfectly maintained. It really adds something special to the whole experience.

The beach is stunning — soft sand, crystal-clear water, and definitely one of the best “blue ribbon” beaches I’ve seen. The Lighthouse Beach Bar is such a fun and relaxing spot to hang out, enjoy a drink, and take in the view.

A huge thank you to the entertainment team! Mikey Way and Sexy Black were absolutely amazing — friendly, professional, and incredibly talented dancers. They truly made the experience more fun and memorable.

Also, special thanks to Miguel for his kindness and great service — it really made a difference.

Overall, this resort exceeded my expectations, and I would definitely love to come back again. Highly recommend! 💙🌴

Firstly the food at the buffet is amazing, we actually canceled a few reservations just so we could eat here more. So many options, and all amazing. Special mention to Altagracia just by the entrance, the loveliest person at the resort.

Apart from that, the resort is very beautiful and well designed. Staff are professional and friendly. Beach is beautiful. This is a truly fantastic resort, 5 stars in all regards.

I chose this hotel with expectations of a nice beach where I could swim and snorkel right there without having to go on a tour, stay in a beautiful upscale facility with a great pool + wet bar and eat great quality food.
After balancing the good and the bad, I left dissatisfied and will not come back to the Iberostar Selection Hacienda Dominicus, I will explain in more detail below.
Room:
Good-> Very spacious, modern and clean. I got room service 2 times a day. Everything functional. No complaints here.
Neutral-> Nothing bad for me, but another guest told us that when they arrived, they were assigned a room in building 2, not that great of a room. It rained the first day and the room got inundated, the bed got drenched. They had to be moved.

Facilities:
Good-> Beautiful design, decor and layout. Very clean all around.
Neutral-> There were employees doing maintenance work all the time, making noise with powered tools and kinda ruining the views. I got hit on my leg with the grass edge-trimmer debris at one time. I understand that maintenance is part of the beauty, but it felt like too much.
There is a dedicated café shop with gourmet types of coffee and pastries, but it smelled strongly like sewer in there (every day) making you think twice before getting a delicious coffee.
Bad-> The children’s pool was closed but no work was done on it, just closed. The main pool was closed for the entirety of my stay with no warning. I asked and I was told that an emergency occurred (sound

We had the rooftop suite and had VIP access during our stay. The resort is beautiful! Spend the extra money to go this route. You also get access to the more upscale cabanas.

The buffet food was extremely subpart, so make reservations to restaurants ahead of time. The staff was incredible everywhere.

If you're looking to do a lot of excursions, understand that many are located an hour and fifteen minutes away. We probably would've only done one if we knew that.

Monkey land was our favorite excursion!

We went the second week of November, and it was overcast a lot. If you're into that, book then. Overall, it was a good experience, but we likely won't revisit.

Iberostar hacienda Dominicus is an excellent place to vacation either with family or a group of friends. The staff is the friendliest and hard working. Everyone in the hotel makes you feel like family. The entertainment team are the most fun and make sure you have a great time. The drinks are premium and the food is fresh. Highly recommend this resort.

It was evident that the staff took great pride in working for Iberostar. The hospitality was 5 star. Seeing the workers around the property ensuring that it was maintained well, was a plus.
Some of the minus's - the lock on the sliding doors in our room wasn't secure (front desk made aware) and hot water for showers was non existent. Would have settled for lukewarm water, it never happened.

Cons: Rooms (old and not very clean), Lunch buffet at the beach (had limited seating and we were turned away), beach facilities (could be cleaned more often), guest (this is a strange one, but we did not feel as welcome- like we didn’t belong there, and they fought us for a beach lounge even though there was no one sitting on it or near it, and no personal items suggesting it was taken- never experienced this anywhere else).

Pros: Staff ( incredibly friendly!), beach (beautiful, clean, and calm), the common spaces (beautiful and spacious), the resort at night (romantic), the staff and kid’s entertainment was nice and the staff were wonderful with kids.

Tips: eat at the restaurants (better food than buffet), drinks are the reception bar were great, to secure a beach lounger, get there early, the rooms near the main buffet area seems to have a nicer and quieter atmosphere/ view than rooms near the beach/pool.

This is a beautiful hotel that lacks customer service skills and more. The check in and check out is horrible. The check in process is slow and they allowed people to skip the line,. Even though there were only a few vacationers in front of us, we waited it 30 minutes to checked in.
The lobby has about 20 ceiling fans that weren't working, so we were sweating the entire time. The food isnt great, and it takes forever to get service. The shows are terrible. Finally, I won't stay in this hotel or any Iberostar.

We loved our stay at the Iberostar Hacienda Selection Dominicus! The hotel is beautiful and walkable, the staff is amazing, the food is delicious and the beach is a paradise. My husband and I did a couple’s massage with Elisa and Rossy and it was great! We want to give a special shoutout to the Star Camp staff. For those with kids, they have activities that are super fun and educational, the staff is very well trained and caring. Thank you so much to the entire hotel for making our vacation unforgetabble! So I need to say I am one of the cheapest people I know, so staying here was a stretch as it was more expensive than all other options, BUT, worth every penny! After reading bad reviews on other places I can tell you they did not miss a detail on service, food, drinks, activities, etc. Private beach was lovely. Never more than 100 yards from a bar with excellent brands. Always something fun going on, lots of varied foods that were great, people were wonderful. Aerobics at pool or beach, shows or parties nightly, good exercise facility, very clean, attention to detail, really worth the extra money we paid. Free snorkeling, Hobycats, kayaks. The ONLY thing I can say is that they tend to cook things well, so stood over and told the wonderful cook when to turn and pull my steak. Really happy we stayed here!!!!!

I was not able to get to eat where i wanted or the times because everything was booked...makes no sense in a hotel of this size and also paying the amount that was paid...no mention of first come first serve or if space allows...also there was a bad smell in the room when we first got there, told 2 different people about it and no one came to check or investigate and definitely never came back to us with and answers as to why.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. We love the casual and friendly feel of Iberostar. Food is good. Grounds are lovely. Rooms are beautiful. Pools are clean. Lots to do or do nothing - it's up to you! Can't say enough good about the Iberostar hotels in general. This particular hotel has the best clean swimming beach I think we've ever been to. Sand is clean, no seaweed, lots of chairs and cabanas. Great stay!

This was probably our 5th stay at this resort and we absolutely love it! We usually come with friends but this time we brought our daughter and her family - husband and two boys 5 and 3 years old. We stayed a full week and everything was absolutely fantastic! From our rooms in Building 7 (which I prefer), to the beautiful grounds, restaurants, food, activities and newly introduced items like silent disco and dancing in the courtyard. The staff is exceptional at every step and everywhere. We took tennis lessons with Junior every morning, then played at the pool and on the beach. We played soccer at the beach, tried every restaurant, enjoyed drinks at the recently renovated beach bar, shopped at the stores… In one word - this resort offers everything your heart may desire for any kind of vacation. We will certainly be back!

The beach is beautiful. Lots of waves. The hotel is gorgeous, but the ac in the room wasn’t working. They tried to fix it several times , they didn’t follow up with us. It never works properly. The room was extremely hot. The service wasn’t the greatest. And the food at the restaurant with reservations was not good at all.

This resort is located on the shore of a fantastically beautiful beach. The resort is very good, all the staff are working 24 hours a day (bravo to the staff manager) to make your stay in the resort carefree and unforgettable. The rooms are updated and very comfortable. The food in the restaurant is varied and very tasty. Thanks to all the bartenders for great cocktails. The only thing I would change about this resort is the SPA. I bought 2 massages and I could also use the sauna. The massage was perfect, the saunas are very small and dated. As I see it, the entire spa building needs to be redone. Perhaps I would make a two-story SPA and make the steam rooms larger and for joint visits of men and women. I am very glad that I chose this resort for my vacation. I will definitely come back next year and recommend this beautiful resort to everyone.

Our stay was from April 8 to the 15th . My husband and I were very dissapointed, when we got into the room mid afternoon it was very warm, we called front desk to complain they said they would send someone to check. It tooks a second call to get a technician to come and check the AC. he said he fixed everything that needed to be fixed and room should cool off in a while. this was in the evening time, we had to spend the night without the AC in a very hot climate, we had to again call in the morning and had to wait for another tech to come and check. The other tech said AC was broken which the previous tech should of realized it. We had to be moved to another room. We get to the other room and no water in the bathroom faucet and shower !! we again had to call and complain and wait for a tech to come and fix it before we could use the shower and bathroom. Hotel itself is beautiful and beach and pool are phenomenal but they need a lot of maintenance done to facility. Food was okey but they served the same things with only a little variance at the buffets for lunch and dinner!! they also need to work on this. Another thing, this is a hotel in a very hot climate and all through the hotel fans are always off in the lobby and everywhere you went you had to ask someone to turn on the fans which was ridiculous. I have been to othe Iberostar hotels and it is the reason why we chose this one but we were dissapointed and don't think we will be going back.

Overall descent hotel.
Nice grounds. Excellent internet access.
There is a strange combination of excellent service and very rude employees.
The food was subpar in all but the French restaurant. Breakfast was tasteless.
The steakhouse was a sad affair. Overcooked and tasteless, low quality meats. The Mexican restaurant was barely passable.
Cigar selection was at best mediocre and incredibly overpriced.
They gave me a song and dance when we had to depart a day early. In-house reservations and Hotels.com were passing the buck until the very last possible second, and I received no refund.

If you’re looking for a calm but entertaining scene, this is the place for you. My husband and I wanted a relaxing vacation away from the parties at Punta Cana. The demographic of guests are ages 30’s and above of mostly couples and families with young children. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted with a cold beverage and plenty of smiles. The staff is amazing. They are truly passionate about their work and it shows in the hospitality. The rooms and hotel are immaculate. It is a large property, beautifully decorated, with plenty of seating around beautiful, well-groomed gardens and romantic lighting. Flamingos and peacocks greet you in the center garden. The food is wonderful- coming from two Italians, this says a lot! Our suggestion- skip the restaurants and enjoy the buffet for dinner as it has a little from each restaurant. If you want to reserve ahead of time, you can email the property. The check in could have been slightly better. We were assigned two double beds instead of a king. The gentleman said he didn’t look at the room type and apologized. People wake up at 6am to put beach towels down at sunbeds on the beach and then leave to return later. There are signs that say not to, but the hotel should have more of a system in place to avoid this. It was really inconvenient for honest guests to enjoy an umbrella arriving at 8:30am and nearly everything was “taken”. Overall, it was a fantastic vacation and very highly recommended! You will not regret staying here!

The property is beautiful and well maintained. We stayed in the renovated rooms and they were modern and comfortable. We traveled with our baby and the room didn’t have a microwave to sterilize the bottles so plan accordingly! (Luckily we found out prior to traveling). The housekeeping ladies did a wonderful job! In terms of the waitress/waiters they also we’re very kind! Special thanks to Estefany and María José, who went above and beyond to make us feel at home! The food at the reservation restaurants was really good unfortunately they only let you have one reservation per restaurant; for example, we stay a week and we’re only allowed 4 reservations (one per restaurant). The food at the buffet is ok…the main complaint is that food was cold but I can’t leave out the fact that there were mosquitoes all over the fruit and bread, etc perhaps the hotel should think of a way of covering them. The beach was absolutely gorgeous and the pools were cool too. Overall, we had a good experience!

Beautiful property, garden in the middle was amazing with the peacocks and flamingos! The only thing that I would change is the way that the sunbeds are reserved on the beach. There are no reserved sunbeds, and by the time we woke up at 8 am, there were no sunbeds available. So the rest of the days we had to wake up at 6.30 in order to be able to spend time on the beach under the umbrellas. They really should change this system and maybe reserve beds according to rooms, so that people on vacation can relax on their vacation rather than have to wake up at 6.30. Everything else was amazing!

Friendly staff. Great food at the buffet and most specialty restaurants. Plenty of pool and beach side chairs with umbrellas and covers for all - no need to rush to reserve one.

One reviewer was complaining about the Russian flag. I guess the administration paid attention and removed Russia's flag at the entrance. There was no more construction at the resort. I've read many complaints about construction going on, I guess they finished it before our arrival.

There were many Russians, but all that I met were living in US, they didn't come directly from Russia. A lot of people form Argentina as well. Very few English speaking guests. This is a mostly Spanish speaking resort. Few of the staff have an acceptable grasp of English. Most are at the front desk.The only downside is that many of the activities and the shows are mostly in Spanish (some are trying to also repeat it in English and French, but it's hard to understand it). This was not a big problem for us as we could use a translation app in some situations.

Customer service was not that great, it was OK, but not great, even after leaving a tip at every breakfast, lunch, dinner, on the beach, front desk, room, etc... Everyone is pretty laid back and moving slow (they say it's islands time..). Just want to say that customers service was not bad, but I've seen better at other resorts in Mexico and Jamaica, maybe it was just luck..

Room and resort was clean. Beautiful resort with birds. Beach awesome. Food was OK, not bad, but nothing too fancy. Shows were just OK as well. Kids playground only open for one hour a day. Snorkeling on site. This is one to go back in our book.

At the entrance to the hotel there are many flags of various countries. Among them I found the flag of Russian Federation - the country that started and continues the war against Ukraine. I will conduct strong campaign against Iberostar company until it removes the Russian flag from ALL their properties around the world. I will ask my representatives in the US Congress to sanction Iberostar if they do not stop showing their support of Russia.

This is so far far from 5 star property, nothing works as supposed to.
Staff doesn't really know what they are doing... trying to say \"yes\" but have no clue and/or no accoutability. No follow ups, no delivery of services.
All inclusive buffet has large variaty, but all is tasteless...
Rooms are outdated both designs and fixtures. Towels are grey (not white) with spots, \"course\" and are so thin from thousands wash that you almost can see through...
Same with bed sheets... beds are uncomfortable at all. Air conditioning not at its best and noisy.
TV reception and picture quality are awful: no resolution, delays, picture freeze.
Services not included in \" all inclusive\" are way too expensive, and staff tries to upsell by providing incorrect info, misguiding etc... i.e. transportation, spa services etc..
Coctail drinks at the bar taste somethibg between dirty water and juice, but certainly not an alcoholic coctails.
Nice clean sandy beach, although stuffed with beds too close to each other, so it feels like riding a subway car during rush hours.

Overall, it was a great stay with friendly staff. Our room cleaning lady, Noemi was beyond five stars! The views were excellent as well.

The only two annoyances were the construction until 11pm and the food in the reserved restaurants was terrible if you actually know French, Italian, and Japanese cuisine. Each had false advertising in their menus. For example, fruit with grand marnier had no grand marnier and the waiter tried to lie about it until he went back to the kitchen and then admitted to it. The macaroons in the French restaurant were inedible.

So I booked this hotel because I have a 10 month old baby that needs 2 naps a day. For the price I was expecting way more. The hotel was tired and needs a lot of work. Construction on the new building is very loud and always happening right by the pool.

The food was...just okay. The room we were in was supposed to have extra amenities like a playstation and a kitchen. The playstation didn't exist and the kitchen was just a room with a fridge, a hob and 2 pans. No cutlery, microwave or kettle. The rooftop pool that was part of our room was dirty and tired and needed some updates.
It wasn't up to par with how much it costs. For the same price in the Maldives I had a spotless jacuzzi hut over the water. At this hotel I got, tired, dirty and frankly crap everything.

The pool was nice and mostly uncrowded which was great for the baby. I think the only people who would have a good time here is boomers that love bland food and are afraid of local people.

Very good hotel, but not perfect.

Good: fantastic beach with crystal clear water. Variety of food. Kind and attentive personal. Gorgeous territory, buildings and wild life. Nice entertainment all day long with many activities. Eco Purified water system.

Bad: Room had cocraches by the coffee machine. The beach area was not maintained well enogh, some food and garbage were not picked up over night. The domestic market on the left side of the hotel brings lots of attention from tourists and native people. Each of four restaurants can be visited once per their schedule.

Bads are minor, hotel still deserves 5 star and your attention.
