The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The room was very basic and the bathroom looked like it has been updated but not by a pro. The Ice machine was broke, but the front desk person had ice on hand. The room had a coffee pot, microwave and fridge, but I iron, which I needed. The TV picture was blurry and it was hard to follow the guide. All in all it was just a room nothing special, but when on vacation you don't play to spend a lot of time in it.

I was nervous because of other reviews but it was fine for us. The blanket is thin so may want to bring another. Also bring your own toilet paper. The room was decent, however the bathroom needed work. It was within walking distance to what we wanted to see.

The door handles did not operate properly. We had to switch rooms because we could not get our door to shut after fighting to get it open to begin with. We were told the owner was aware but just hasnt taken the time to fix them. Second room worked a bit better but not the best. We had to get our card key reset each day because it would no longer work.Our tub did not drain. Nothing like standing in everyone's dirty water to shower. The continental breakfast was a choice of cheap nasty packaged danishes or waffles. It was located in a lobby which was not very clean.

The room was not fit for rental absolutely disgusting. There was discharge in the toilet, Holes in the black out screen that let in light everywhere. The comforter was warn thin and stained. As were the under sheets and pillow cases. They graciously gave me clean ones but alas they were just as stained and thin. We drove to the Walmart in Cleaveland ga and bought sheet sets and a new comfortor and camping chairs as the chair inside looked as if someone brought it in from an alley. Service was great. Place abhorrent.

The hotel staff was very helpful when we needed assistance. That was about the only good thing about this day. The hotel is not very well maintained, there were several items broken in the bathroom and the bathtub had several chips in the porcelain. It was also very difficult to get in and out of the room because of the door not operating properly. The refrigerator/freezer was frozen and we were not able to use the freezer. The air condition did not maintain a comfortable setting.

Heater was working great. Room was clean and in good condition. Bathroom was clean and lots of towels. Check in and out were easy and quick and staff was friendly. Close to attractions and Festhalle, great spot. Lots of parking space. Awesome TV and a ton of services and channels. Would recommend and will stay again!

My room had not been updated and was not as nice as the 2 rooms which I stayed in twice last year but the location was great. There are several newer hotels in close proximity for those who need new.

Do not believe any positive reviews.

Simply put, this place is disgusting.
Not just dirty. Not just rundown. Not just outdated. I would perfectly be fine with any of that. I don't need white glove service or top tier amenities. But this place is putrid.
And it is grossly misrepresented here on hotels.com.

I stayed exactly 15 minutes before packing up and leaving.

And I've been fighting with this website ever since for a refund.

For starters, the hotel looks completely abandoned. So much so that you'll think you're in the wrong place.
My non-smoking room reeked of cigarettes. Not a faint tobacco smell. People were absolutely smoking in there. Probably for years. None of the lights worked. The door frame and molding were pulled away from the wall. Everything was filthy and the sheets were covered in brown stains. Read that again....the sheets were covered in brown stains.
Check other more reliable sources (Google reviews) for a more accurate representation. The reviews here are not just phony, they are ridiculous. Do not stay at this motel.

Opening weekend at Helen 2025 Oktoberfest

Hmmmmm. A towel and a sock in one of the drawers. Interior front door lock wouldn't lock (Rm 214). Pot smokers underneath or next door. Pool hasn't been opened this year at all (according to staff).
Short distance to the festhalle and downtown shops which are easily walkable.
You're going to get what you paid for here. Room is cheap and really need to be updated

This hotel allows long term rentals and the owners live on property. There was a fight and police had to be called to escort a couple of people off the property. I was told by other locals it wasn’t uncommon. However. The bed was clean. I did a bed bug check and it came back clean. So it served my needs for one night stay. Although the outside of the building needs work. The room was clean. Just a little outdated and run down.

We arrived on a Thursday at 3 am and the check in was easy, we went to room and it was mostly clean but had a horrible musky or moldy smell. I had to go get fabrize and run the ac cold and constantly ti keep the smell away. The shower had other people's hair in it. Towels were very thin. The next day they came in to clean but did not make the bed or clean shower, only replaced towels and took trash out. On sat they never came in the room to clean, no trash taken out and no clean towels i called when we got back to our room and got told they were still working and they had a lot of rooms to clean. I specifically asked for the trash to be taken out and dirty towels replaced. No one came. On sunday before we left for the day i spoke to house keeper and asked for trash and dirty towels to be removed. They handed me clean towels. When we returned around 4 pm still no one had come to clean, take out trash or get dirty towels out. I called and they said they would send someone over. They came in and took trash and dirty towels but nothing else was cleaned. The people working the lobby were nice, the location was convenient but i will not stay again due to house keeping and smell.

The staff was super friendly. The properties location was very convenient. We stayed two nights. The first night the room we had there was cigarette burns in the comforter. The room smelled extremely musty. You can hear every step the upstairs guest makes, and apparently the group was insomniacs because when I say all night and into the morning they never stopped pacing back and forth. Then for the best part, we got in the shower and were getting leaked on from the bathroom above. The ceiling started bulging in from all the water. We showed the lady in the office and they offered us a different room for the second night. They swapped our room when it became available that evening. When I say totally different room and experience I mean it. Clean comfortable and this review would have been totally different if we had stayed in this room first. The owner needs to fix and update this property, and then I would say this is the go to place. The staff was very apologetic and nice though.

I booked the hotel based on the pictures online. It didn't look like the pictures. The place is run down. I had to change rooms 3 times until I found one that was acceptable. The first room smelled of cigarettes, the next room wouldn't lock, and the third room smelled like a sewer, but it went away after running the water. All the rooms smelled musty, the shower was gross. The only good thing about this place was the location and the friendly staff, whom I had to talk to several times to address issues.

Stay started off kind of rough. Original room that was given to me reeked of cigarette smoke. It was supposedly a non-smoking room, I don’t necessarily know how this was missed by the cleaning service. However the customer service was great, the woman working at the front desk was able to find me a different room very quickly.

Cleanliness was the other issue, the shower wasn’t exactly “clean” and had was appears to be mold in the tub sealant.

Other issues: The key cards for the door would deactivate after a day, making a trip to the main office a daily occurrence. Not the biggest issue, but definitely an inconvenience.

Unfortunately, while there was an event going on in Helen, I don’t think the conditions of the accommodations were worth the price per night.

My family and i stayed here 1 night before continuing on to Cherokee. The hotel was clean and the staff was nice. The beds are very firm, not my preference, but my husband loved it. You get free parking with your stay and your close enough to walk to the stores in Helen. The building is very old so you could hear every step and children running around the rooms upstairs. If they walked/ ran too hard it kinda sounded like the roof was going to come down. When they were running up and down the upstairs balcony at 1am it echoed around our room.

Location, Location, Location. This Ameriview is really close to most of Helen. The hotel is dated but is kept up well and clean. My wife and I stayed there last month and she had no complaints. My brother and I stayed there last weekend and no compaints either.
However, I made reservations for 2 rooms back in March at very good rates but in the middle of August either the hotel or Hotels.com cancelled my second room reservations without my knowledge. The room price in August was well more than double. My brother would have been fine using the second room and I have friends that could have used the other room the month before. Ironicly, I believe the hotel had vacancies each night I was there so they lost money on the rooms that they cancelled. Plus, I may not trust them or Hotels.com anymore.

Staff was friendly. Did not get the rooms we signed up for. We signed up for 2 Kings and he said they didn’t have anymore. He said Expedia was suppose to let us know that we would have 2 queens. We were never notified. Showers in both rooms the knob to turn on were broken. Very hard to adjust the temperature with knobs broken. Hotel rooms were old.
Best part is it is close to all the activities in Helen and you are only in your room to sleep.

The guy who runs the office John is super nice,friendly and knowledgeable about the area. They are making upgrades to the property and the rooms, John the guy who is the property showed as one of the rooms they are making upgrades too, and it looks really nice. The pool is also in the process of being updated. The beds were a little hard for my liking, but my husband Had no issue with it . Like the other guy said it’s not the Hilton, but it is still a nice hotel and I’ll definitely go back

The outside areas needed to be cleaned more. There was large piles of bird poop under several lights that had birds nest outside of rooms. There was cobwebs everywhere outside. The sheets and blankets had a not so clean smell to them. The refrigerator barely kept items cold. The bath tub was stopped up and drained very slow.

The guys running the front desk were great, very apologetic with the conditions at the property. With the said, pool had been closed for 2 years due to White County regulations, according to the staff. Bathroom door wouldn't close, one of my most dissatisfied stays in a motel and ive been in close to 100 in my life.

There are so many resort hotels in Helen i believe they have a maid service problem. I liked the hotel, good value for the money. Management was very helpful when there was a problem. Hotel room and exterior looked very good, just landscaping andgrounds could use some TLC. Pool was not open, in terrible shape but would be a great asset to the hotel.

It says there is a pool….the pool is green with frogs in it! The first room they put us in smelled like dog pee…the second room didn’t smell but the floor was very soft and felt like you would fall through in certain areas. The shower was disgusting the shower head had mildew in it and was barely hanging on. Do not stay here!

Pillows were bad and room looked like it hadn’t been swept had a bleach smell. Not sure how housekeeping is done, but all we had was towels, changed, and trash, taken out other than that nothing was done.
Only positive is we were able to get our room early.
