Not handicap friendly in any way. 2 handicap parking spots for entire property. 1at resort and one at golf area. One at resort taken up alot iof time by valet staff with cars with no placard or license plate. Lots of hills, steps. They charge extra $35 per day to use \"amenities\" which are down hills, steps and poorly maintained. View is beautiful but everything else needs work.

recently stayed at Valhalla Resort Hotel, and I had such a wonderful experience! From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made my stay feel even more special.

The rooms were extremely clean, well-maintained, and very comfortable—definitely a place where you can truly relax and unwind. I also had the chance to dine at the hotel, and the food was absolutely delicious. Everything from the service to the quality of the meals exceeded my expectations.

Overall, this is a beautiful property with top-notch service, and I would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend if you’re visiting Helen, Georgia!

The spa experience was disappointing. The room was cold, and they didn’t have the necessary amenities for a woman’s comfort. The oil was sprayed directly onto my skin cold. I received a massage on one hand but not the other. Same with my feet, The massage was rough, and they did not properly cover parts of my body while working on other areas. Overall, it was very disappointing — the entire massage service felt rushed and poorly done.

I want to add that I get spa treatments at hotels on all my trips, and this has been the worst experience by far.I told this to the front desk lady( very gently)

Vahalla is by far the nicest place to stay in the area - super friendly staff and well equipped room in beautiful setting. It wasn’t a busy season when we stayed so it was nice and quiet for a great nights sleep. The restaurant gets mixed review - probably better during busier times - it was clearly minimally staffed and not up to expectations. We did appreciate the restrictions on age of children at the property and wish more places did this.

Our first room, was on the first floor off the lobby. Super noisy and the Fire Place didn/t work. We finally moved rooms to the 2nd floor at an additional cost and the Wifi didn't work. No compensation either. Very, very disappointing.

Cannot speak highly enough about the staff, particularly Jan, and all the others that helped make our long weekend stay in Helen magical! The grounds were clean and well-kept. We loved having dinner at the restaurant overlooking the mountains, with our nightcap at the rooftop bar. Golf was a challenge but an absolutely gorgeous course! This property is very conveniently located to Helen and many hiking trails, vineyards, and great food!

My wife and I booked a room at Valhalla Resort for three nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We arrived shortly after check-in time, 4:15 p.m. We were immediately greeted by a gentleman who helped us with our luggage. When we walked inside to register, I was taken by the beautiful interior of the lobby area and the restaurant which is visible when you enter. We were offered a complimentary glass of champagne then we went to our room on the 2nd floor which was also was beautifully decorated. There was a sitting area with fireplace, a king-size bed and very large bathroom with a double vanity and large walk-in shower equipped with a rainfall shower head and many additional amenities! Since we arrived late in the day, dinner was on our minds. Not wanting to get back in the car, we went upstairs to the Sky Bar—an intimate room with a contemporary decor. We ate outside on the terrace and enjoyed the mountain view. We both ordered the fried chicken sandwich with pimento cheese, fries and soft drinks. The food was delicious! And the service was spot on. After dinner we took a stroll around the gorgeous grounds near the golf course and saw some wildlife. The pool area also offers a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy a peaceful experience.
Throughout our stay the staff was friendly, personable and eager to assist with any needs we had.
Additionally, we enjoyed breakfast in the Caledonia Restaurant and everything was cooked and served with perfection.

The hotel was beautiful. However, I was called in advance, and explained we were on our honeymoon. I was told I could purchase a celebration package, and I did. I had paid for a deluxe king suite. They asked if I needed an accessible room, I told them I didn’t. When we arrived, we had been booked in an ADA room. The reception then changed it, stating to my new wife that she was “upgrading us, complimentary “. The room we were given was exactly what I paid for. Then she proceeded to state that there was champagne and cake and a gift in our room, and breakfast would be delivered, all “complimentary “. These were all things I paid for!! Don’t take credit for things I paid for, and don’t tell my wife you’re upgrading us then give us exactly what I paid for. It took away from the experience and had her questioning what room I had originally booked. Overall, not worth the cost or the time to travel to.

For our 17th wedding anniversary, my husband and I chose the Valhalla Resort Hotel in Helen, GA, fulfilling his dream of enjoying authentic German cuisine and old-world charm. From the moment we arrived, the experience was exceptional. The valet and concierge, Jan, welcomed us warmly with glasses of champagne, while our luggage was swiftly taken to our room.

Our spacious room featured a cozy fireplace, two TVs, a balcony with stunning views, and a well-stocked mini bar, making it easy to settle in for our five-night stay. The Sky Bar, with its breathtaking Blue Ridge Mountain vistas, was a highlight. Bartenders Matt and Loli greeted us with genuine hospitality, enhancing the picturesque setting.

The staff's friendliness was consistent throughout our stay. Judy, the daytime concierge, was outstanding, and valet Steve suggested renting the on-site townhomes for future visits with family or friends. On Father’s Day, we enjoyed a round of golf at the Valhalla Golf Club, a scenic and challenging public course. Lunch at the Caledonia Dining Room was delightful, where owners Jerry Murdock and Gayle Stewart Murdock, accompanied by their charming standard poodles, made us feel like family. They even encouraged us to bring our border collie on our next visit.

The General Manager’s professionalism added to the seamless experience. Valhalla Resort Hotel masterfully blends luxury, Scottish heritage, and Southern hospitality, all while being close to Helen for day trips.

The hotel was very clean and the staff were all very friendly and polite. I really enjoyed my stay. Judy at the front desk was extremely helpful and friendly. Daniel was also really helpful with parking. Our room was beautiful and it was a romantic getaway. The food was so good, particularly the Norse Chicken. So much so that I ordered it three times during my stay! Our waitress Elice was pleasant during dinner. We also ordered room service which came in time every time and hot ! Great menu and quality food. Views from sky bar were incredible and the pool was a fun place to spend the afternoon. Not a far distance from the tourist attraction spots in town. This was a perfect way to celebrate our engagement! Thank you to everyone at Valhalla for making this weekend one to remember!

Please do not waste your hard earned money here! Website outdated and not accurate! Not anywhere close to a 4 star resort in my opinion. Window ac unit in bungalow couldnt keep up, had to run all day and all night and didnt cool room down properly, different color paint in rooms that should be the same! No black out drapes in bedroom that website list as being in the rooms! And \"rainfall\" showerhead is just a regular, dirty shower head! We even had a hornets nest in our bedroom window!

Disappointed in the room. It was no more nicer than much lower price hotels. I was very shocked at the 100.00 fee charged for my 4lb service dog. He is fully trained and stayed in his kennel the whole time.
We were charged for drinks from the bar that we did not get. Very pretty but not worth the price.

Great location, clean & updated rooms. Best pork chop my partner has ever had at the restaurant. Sky Bar has a nice open air feel with a view of the mountains surrounding the property. Having a car is nearly a must if you will be in town late as there are very few drive shares in the area. The walk from town to the hotel is mostly uphill and we almost had to resort to that one night. It took 20 mins to get a driver to accept our ride.

Bed good; pillow lumpy; room clean; valet, reception, bartender & waitstaff were very good; restaurant was a nightmare... we never ate as every table sat with no food for over an hour ... despite trying to celebrate our Anniversary we decided to pay for our wine and we went back to our room and ate some trail mix I had packed. Waitess was very apologetic but offered no explanation. Though we know the owner was having a gathering with food in the Sky Bar so perhaps they were the priority and the restaurant clientele was not. We will never return nor recommend this resort.

Everyone we encountered at Valhalla was friendly and eager to please. Our room was clean and comfortable. We ate 3 meals at the hotel and the food was delicious. However the hotel is showing some age and the fall decor was a bit kitschy. The self-parking area is in a sketchy area next to a dumpster behind the hotel - you must climb an old wooden stair up the mountain to get to the ground level. I recommend using valet parking. Great customer service earns the 5 overall.
