My wife and I stayed at Sylvan Valley Lodge & Cellars for our Anniversary and it was fabulous. Lucy, at the front desk was amazing! She went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The location is peaceful and only 8 minutes from downtown Helen. We loved our short stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

Our check-in was seamless and the staff was exceptionally friendly. The room was very clean and very comfortable, from the small couch in a little alcove to the bed. In fact, it was the most comfortable \"hotel\" bed I can remember experiencing. The property is a little older, but has been very well updated. There aren't many receptacles, but they've solved that by placing a power strip in the room. The balcony was shared with the room next door and looked out onto the parking lot, but it was still nice to be able to go out and sit there. And there was a large common area right outside our room that was well-stocked with snacks and board games. We were very pleased with the property and very much enjoyed our stay.

The stay was absolutely amazing. We checked in with no problems. Our cabin was so cute and cozy. The bed was super comfortable and loved having the fireplace in the evenings. We were able to have our dog there with us. We had a wine tasting with Lucy on property that was wonderful. Just a 10 minute drive to a Helen and many outdoor hiking opportunities. We will definitely stay again.

This is a beautiful property! The accommodations were clean and very comfortable. Things were calm and quiet. I liked the ease of access and check-in with the door code system. We enjoyed the heart-shaped hot tub. As an amateur naturalist, I noticed and especially enjoyed the historical botanical prints on the walls - that was a special little detail, and I and would love to know more of the story about these prints.

No food around we get stuck at the cabin because the snow no DoorDash was available no Walmart delivery available we ddnt eat no food on Friday bt crackers n soda and some chips that the cabin had it’s nice cabin the area is good just make sure you bring food cabin was nice comfy bed fire place was good. My only complaint is who Watever is cleaning the cabins need to do a better job they are not cleaning right the cabins. All the Blinds are full of dust coffee make was dirty Dust under the sofa mini oven was dirty u can tell they don’t move or cleaning the cabin I have pics

Room was clean and area was really nice and calm. We stayed at cabin 22 with the family and liked how spacious the room was. It was a 22 min drive to ruby falls and a 6-10 min drive to helen GA so fairly close to the main attractions we were hoping to see. The only con was with the amenities since our bathroom had an empty bottle of body wash and barely any shampoo. We also had to request more toilet paper rolls but besides that 10/10. We had a wonderful stay!

The owners of the property were responsive and helpful, and their check in instructions were easy. We weren't aware of the $80 resort fee and wish that had been clearer. Finding the cabin was easy, but be prepared for a tight turn and steep hill. The cabin itself was beautiful and the closed porch was great for our dog to hang out on. There's not much of a view, but it wasn't what we were going for. The biggest downside was the beds - they were not comfortable and left my back sore. Overall, it was pretty, convenient to Helen, and within our budget.

It was wonderful, I will say Expedia advertises this property as sound proof room and that is not true at all, the property also stated that this is incorrect so we mentioned for the property manager to have kayak and Expedia fix this as this was the reason it was booked due to our dogs. It changed up our trip since we couldn’t go off and explore unless we took our dogs (they bark) The place was clean and the staff was really kind. The bed was amazing!! We got to enjoy the jacuzzi tub in our room, except it drained the whole time but it was still wonderful! Very close to Yonah and the town of Helen which you must check out!

The staff was pleasant when addressed. The windows could use blackout curtains as we could not sleep due to the parking lot lights. The room was clean but needed updating. Also, had a musty smell as we entered. We bought an off brand bottle of wine from the gift shop which was $55 to our surprise. The clerk informed us that only one wine glass was supplied per room and gave us plastic cups. Really? We just paid $55 for a bottle of your subpar wine. We used the coffee mugs. No one said hello or goodbye. Did not feel very welcome.

First off I'll state that the room was actually very clean very comfortable but I rented a king size bed and end up with a double no big deal it happens sometimes but my main concern is the wine tasting was not available because they was no staff the restaurant nor bar was open because it wasn't any staff so when I went to rent this for me and my wife to spend the weekend that was a big plus for me because we enjoy those type of stays

There were outlets that were loose in the bedroom and the bathroom. They would not support a phone charger. The porch light was not working good enough to support a well lite porch area. The overall expierence was wonderful. The cabin needs a few minor fixes. We would suggest the property and would rent again.

Planned our anniversary at the Lodge. We were very pleased with the ease of check in, cleanliness and how private it was!. We did have a shared balcony but that was fine. Perfect weather 👌. Ac was good and cold. Shower nice and hot. Loved how it was just a short 8 min ride to helen. And Cleveland is just right down the road and has some great restaurants. Try Ol Cyldes!. We will definitely be back thank yall so much. They have have an email and text message that you can contact the employees and they have always been prompted and very helpful to me.

The room itself was great. When we arrived everything downstairs and upstairs was fine. We went out to supper and when we arrived back there was the most horrendous odor that hit you when you walked in the door. The horrible odor remained the entire weekend and followed us upstairs. We were unable to enjoy the common room due to the odor hit us the minute we stepped out our door. No explanation was given by the worker in the gift shop.

We stayed for one night. It was an inexpensive place to rest our head for the night after a long drive. We were going to Babyland the next day.
The mattress is very low quality. I could feel the springs through the mattress. I really wish all hotels would provide quality, comfortable mattresses to sleep on. Housekeeping could do a little better of a job paying attention to a couple things.

Some front office service to guide us in the area and on the facility, 3. Offerings on site. It feels like the hotel is only operated by a skeleton crew providing only minimum maintenance!

For overnighting travel the complicated checkin made the staff look poorly. Expedia implied a pay onsite checkin but I never saw the staff. We corresponded entirely by text message. The check-in window is very narrow so you really can only pay and check-in by phone and website.

The room HVAC was so loud and blows over the bed every 40 minutes so sleep was bad. The bed was over soft and had a large depression in the middle so we had to sleep close to the edge to minimize back pain.

The setting is in good condition but it is dated.

Room ventilation was poor so that even the bathroom fan running a long time could not get the excess humidity out of the room.

For the value to price, I wish I had stayed elsewhere for an overnight stop.

This is a really pretty location in the woods, located just outside Helen. We did book through Hotels.com and there is contactless entry BUT be vigilant the day of. I paid my full amount minus a small amount and the 15.00 a day fee stated ( what Hotel.com asked me to pay like 90% of the fee) but the day of I did not get a code to get in as stated. There is only staff at this location until 5 pm and they are not back until 9 am so I was aware I needed the code as we would not be there until after that time. I messaged them and was told they needed the remaining balance paid before I would get that information. I was at work in the middle of craziness so I had to call in a flurry to get that done… so if you are booking through here and know you will be showing up after 5pm make sure you take care of this or are on top of it. In saying that the woman I spoke to was VERY nice and took care of it and minutes and I received all my codes.
I would give this property a 7/10.
Pluses- short drive to Helen. Quiet in the woods feel, and a very pretty property. They have wine tastings by appointment, a cute gift shop and a very nice covered venue area, and a back patio with little hanging lights that’s very pretty at night. Ample parking, very clean, the family room if you were with multiple families is a nice touch. They have keurigs with nice mugs in the rooms with good coffee and nice size TVs, and our room had a jacuzzi tub ( we didn’t use it so no reviews on that). A nice veranda

We stayed here for a night this weekend. I specifically sought out a cabin instead of a hotel because my husband loves nature. The cabin was easy to find, cute, and private. There was a private porch with chairs, bathroom, kitchenette, living room area, and a bedroom in the cabin we stayed in. You also get your own parking space for one car and wifi, which was so great because we had NO cell reception. We only had two issues - along the driveway where we parked were a ton of pistachio shells on the ground. It was obviously left there from a previous guest but it was gross and all over the ground as soon as I got out of the car. Another issue was that we were sound asleep after an event and at 5:30 AM the fire alarm started blaring!!! We woke up with so much adrenaline and were panicked looking for smoke or fire - no appliances were on (or used), the ceiling fan was going, there was no reason for it to be blaring. After a few minutes, we started looking for the emergency after hours number and the smoke alarm stopped. I couldn't sleep after that. We told the staff over the phone when we checked out and all they said was that they would tell maintenance. There was no other efforts to make the situation right, which was disappointing. We won't be staying at this location again, which is too bad because we would have if we received more compassion from the staff after sharing our experience.

The front counter service was nice. The room and bed were comfortable and clean. Headboard could have been dusted but other than that it was really nice. Bathroom was clean but water took a long time to heat up. Toilets were outdated so it used too much water.
The breakfast was inadequate. Only one container of oatmeal and some yogurt were there and that was not replenished from the night before. The coffee was good but my spouse doesn't drink it and there was no tea or juice. This was listed as a bed and breakfast so it was rather disappointing in that aspect for the price. I slept well because of the bed and quiet, so that is the reason for the higher rating.

We got there a little earlier and they were kind to let us in . The room was ok, needs a little update but it was a good size. It has a fridge with freezer so I loved that . It was pretty cold and they didn’t have any heater so we were freezing, we call reception but nobody was there to help us. We had a good night sleep that night because the following night some guest were at the living room and they were loud , not a problem to me if after midnight they would’ve lower their voices but it was after 2 am and they kept the party going, we were not able to sleep at all that night (even though it says 10 pm-9 am quiet time)…..
We were there for only 2 nights . We left exhausted . Place is pretty but i expected to be more like the website shows.

Everything was amazing! All pros except 1. The only con I'd say is the TV in the room was extremely small and with prices of TVs for like a 42\"-43\" are very cheap at this point. My monitor for my computer might be bigger. Not that we stayed in the room much but just unwinding at night. My family stayed in the Suite room of this property. The ladies at check in were super nice and give you a unique code to access your room keypad which made us feel really safe. The only downfall of this property is that this room was advertised as family friendly—family friendly to perhaps those who have pre teens or teenagers with them, but definitely not a toddler! There is no elevator on property so if you’re not traveling light, be prepared to haul your 50 pound luggage up flights of stairs! Thankful for my husband to do this while I stayed with the baby. The wine tasting in the evenings was the perfect way to spend the night relaxing after hiking at nearby parks. Overall we definitely enjoyed the property, just not for a young family such as ours at this point in time!

Wasnt the greatest experience. We checked in \"they text you the door code\" there were people already staying in our cabin. Walked in on another couple and thier dog. They were great about it, but it was awkward. Called the \"after hours number\" and they appologized and asked if they could call me back once she pulled over since she was driving, called back and gave us a code to the cabin next door. While I was on the phone with her I confirmed that we could be able to stay in the same cabin the next night also since we were going to be there two nights, she said yes she would make sure that happened (spolier alert this did not happen) This cabin was nice, bed was hard as a rock and my husband didnt sleep very well that night. Back to check-in there was suppose to be a wine tasting until 6pm, but when asking (had to call) because there was nobody there she said they \"decicded to go to dinner\" it was 5:30ish and the wine tasting was suppose to be open until 6. The next day, we had a reservation for ziplning at 10:30am while we were there I got a text that asked me to call at my ealiest convienience, so when we finished we were headed into Helen to get lunch and I called then back. They asked if we could come back to switch cabins back to the origional because it \"would make it easier for them with the people coming to check in to the one we were currectly placed in\" so we had to drive back to the cabins, move our stuff and then we would go eat lunch. Very Inconvenient.

Great place. One issue was no soap or shampoo for the shower or tub. Unfortunately we did not discover that until later in the evening. I am sure they would have responded if we requested help and it was not so late.

Restful Accommodations

Very nice accommodations. Some minor maintenance issues, i.e., fan light bulb out, control rod for blinds missing.

Lacking an ice maker for quest use.

Very quiet location, restful. Quick trip to Helen and tourist sites.

Would make nice location for family gatherings.

Girls trip

The cabin was clean and comfortable. Coffee and snacks were provided and check in and out was easy. We spent most of our time out and it was comfortable for us!

My stay at Sylvan was great. It was very relaxing and cozy. All my needs were met, the staff was very friendly, and the booking process was simple. My bed was so comfortable! I loved the shared living area, and the breakfast bar was a nice touch. I hope to stay here again soon.
