Beautiful cozy room, felt luxurious. We never saw any staff, works more like a Vrbo. Smallest TV I’ve ever seen at a cabin/hotel. If you prefer quiet cabin ambiance, this is a great place.

The cabin was clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. It had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway, and we especially enjoyed spending time on the deck taking in the beautiful scenery. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. One of the highlights of our stay was the bar and restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, the portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable. It was a great option to relax and enjoy a meal without having to leave the property.

This place was beautiful! A really fun and attractive update to a traditional motel (now barely recognizable). The duck down suite was a spacious size for a family of 4. The knotty pine and country decor was clearly a labor of love and was appreciated by my whole family. The carved log frame beds were beautiful and very comfortable. The suite was very clean with lots of amenities in the bathroom and kitchenette. The family loved playing games at the kitchenette table. It was raining or we would have used the deck in the back and probably played horseshoes. The owners were very nice. It was a contactless check in but I had missed the email due to travel. They were gracious in explaining the process. The location is remote but a quick drive to Helen and Clarkesville. Found a great pizza place in Helen and great breakfast place just down the road toward Clarkesville. We were only passing through but would come back to stay to check out the area more. The only thing i may have missed in the online description was that the restaurant on site is only open Thursday - Sunday.

We stayed in the Big Horn room. It was very clean the shower pressure was great. There are two beds in the room. It would be great for a family with small children. We were not able to take advantage of the fire pit area because of the weather but would have weather permitting. The location is great not far from Helen and hiking areas. Would definitely stay there again.

Appearances of this Lodge is Mountain-motel, yet the room, Big Whiskey is a small but airbnb quality. Cindy provides homey touches and thoughtful additions to make your stay enjoyable. ‘She had me at Egyptian cotton sheets!’ The bed is so comfy and the coffee bar is well supplied. My only complaint is that the refrigerator froze my veggie snacks and boiled eggs, and the control knob had been removed.

Anyone looking for a nice secluded place to stay in Clarkesville, GA, this is the place. The staff is outstanding and the view out the back door is awesome. I have stayed here 4 to 5 times, and every time has been a great experience. You will not be disappointed if you book any of these rooms.

The syay was very comfortable. But the next morning, maintenance guys were very disrespectful with drilling and banging that woke us up. We had arrived late from flying into Atlanta. We needed to rest before our onward journey and we did not appreciate the noise of drilling and banging at 7am. I am sure this isba one off. But please could maintenance of property be managwd better for your guests. Thank you.

Room is cozy, well appointed and has the amenities any traveler would need for a home away from home stay. Before arrival we were provided with the necessary code to enter and begin our vacation free of intervention from a front desk or otherwise. Decorated for the holidays, the room says “this was the right choice” we truly enjoyed this stay. Although we didn’t bring our pet, the next time we visit we may just do so because of the room’s appointment with a back porch and a way out into the acreage behind the lodge for pet exercise. Conveniently located to Helen and other Appalachia locations.

Well photos on website showing gated entry are not correct.. this is an older motel with six rooms which has been updated with some log siding not an actual lodge.. bed was to be king but was more like a queen .. room was clean and decorated nicely .. had a nice area for my fur baby to go out so that was a plus .. was conveniently located to Helen so overall not bad stay

The spread has holes in it but besides those few things it was ok.it was nice overall for a short getaway for my husband and I. My mother passed away early Tuesday morning and I truly just needed the time away to try and distract me some.
Cyndi was so very kind to me during this process. We initially canceled and then the next morning I called to see if we could still come and she was so understanding with my wishie washing decisions. She was sweet to also add some very kind words and conversation about her own mom.

Upon opening the door, the view was unexpected. The photos did not do this room justice. Felt like walking into a cabin in the woods. They provided a bottle of wine and some snacks which I thought was very thoughtful. There was everything there that you need for your stay. Even had a fireplace (electric) but made it cozier. There was hardly any road noise. Had a pretty view out the back sliding door. Plenty of hot water for a relaxing shower after a day of exploring.

Cindy was very sweet, her husband wasn't. The rooms were good, but the fan in the bathroom, the back porch lite didn't work, and the utility pole light in the back of the property never came on during our stay.

This is the place to stay when going up in the Helen area. The rooms are large,well appointed and have special personal touch. I loved the interiors of the suite and the interesting renovation from a motel to a vip themed cabin interior suites. I didn’t dislike anything but would have liked to have had some drawers to put clothing in. But that’s minor; everything else needed was provided and if not you could get the host to bring what you needed. Excellent service, convenient location, and quiet.

When me and my wife checked in it was beautiful, nice and quiet . We booked in to check out hotels in the area because we will be working here for the next couple of months and I wanted to check out this hotel before we decided if this was the hotel we wanted to book for our trips here . The owner Cindy came knocking on our door and asked for the bottle of complimentary wine back that was on the bar with a note addressed for us . We found that very strange because when you book in , it says one bottle of wine included she tried to say it’s for frequent travelers which we are ,we travel for a living for work . She offered us appetizers in exchange for the wine which we agreed upon because we don’t drink . She told her son which we are assuming is her son he was a younger guy to show us the menu and let us chose some appetizers. He looked at me like something was wrong like he didn’t want to deal with me he whispered to his mom which is extremely rude . Yes we just got off of work and well we’re still in our work clothes looking rough . Well they left and nobody even came back to show us anything on any menu . I will never return to this lodge if this was the way you get treated . I also noticed she didn’t knock on anyone else’s door just ours . I was reading the guest book in our room and guests seem to love her . So I don’t understand why I was treated this way acting like I was going to get drunk and party or something off of wine . When planning a trip to the area, primarily to see the mountain village of Helen, Georgia, we decided on to stay a short drive outside of Helen in order to avoid the tourist crowds. The Nacoochee Valley Lodge was a great choice for us. It’s a simple drive out of Helen (about 10 minutes). The property is a completely renovated and updated little motor hotel, and the rooms are very cozily set up along certain themes. We stayed in the Whiskey Suite, which had two rooms, a nice little back deck overlooking a grassy field and trees, and parking right in front of the room. It was so much nicer than staying in a traditional motel, as we had our privacy and comfort. Hotel owner/manager Cindy was super nice, checked on us when we arrived and made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. The hotel has an adjacent sports bar/restaurant open Wed-Sun and it’s a very cozy place to eat and drink, with a full bar and Sunday specials! The room had a smart TV with Roku installed, so we could watch our own streaming accounts, and the Internet worked great! Besides the village of Helen, the hotel is also close to Unicoi State Park and several other hiking and outdoor recreation areas.

The suite was absolutely beautifully decorated. Felt like I was in a country home and all the decor was all wood and that style. Everything was neat, clean and appropriate, from linens to furniture. Property outside around the back end is in the process of upgrades, so did not look wonderful, but front area and parking was perfect. We did not really meet the staff and it was not to easy to keep contact directly vs internet that our carrier was battling with.

It was an amazing place to stay. Great price for the quality and service. It is far enough away from the tourist area of Helen, GA but a quick drive when it is time to be the tourist. Comfort bed, very clean, no smoke smell at all, looks like a cabin on the inside. Can't wait to go back.
