I stayed at Banyan Tree every time when I came to Phuket. My last time in Phuket was however 10 years ago.

I found the villa I stayed this time was clean and spacious enough for 3 people. However, it is a bit dated and needs some update. Staff were most helpful. The newly opened beach club was exceptional and excellent for evening relax drinking. I would stay in Banyan tree again for my next visit to Phuket.

The Grounds are wonderful and spotless. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. The villa is wonderful but some things needed a bit of upgrading. The table when entering the villas was of a different wood type which did not really match the decor and was significantly scratched. A number of mirrors outdoors had this pink/red plastic which looked worn and many were cracked and peeling. Small details which are important for the price one is paying.
My biggest disappointment was the food:
Breakfast is very good and is served in a beautiful atmosphere.
Saffron restaurant is also very good.
Japanese restaurant was so-so. Great atmosphere but food was \"tasteless\" I would rate it a C+
The Italian restaurant was the worst and I would rate it a D. I know Italian food...the eggplant parmigiana was not good at all as an example.

Overall a great place to stay . Location is good not far from the airport as well as a small shopping area.
I wouldn’t give it many stars as it needs upgrading in a lot of areas.
Service staff are 50-60% good and the other definitely need better training.
We enjoyed our stay as it was very close to nature .

I have stayed at Banyan tree for almost 20 times, and this trip is the worst. Front desk staffs were very nice and helpful, but the Sanctuary pool Villa was a let down. upon checking in, the jacuzzi pool was without water. The bar fridge was leaking, the bathroom when raining was leaking at the glass screen. Housekeeping was disappointing. someday with tea light candles for the aroma burner some day without. Also been accused of taking their slipper when there are 2 pair in the bathroom.
I then moved to the Grand Two-Bedroom Pool Villa, another disappointment. The garden and pool lights were not working, the living room phone was not working, the master bedroom lights were not working, the living room tv was not working. What happen to all the inspection before the guest checks in to ensure everything are working correctly? But i have to applaud the front desk staff, the Buggy driver, the bell boys and the restaurant staff for putting an effort to make guest feels welcome. Would i stay there again? Maybe just because I know the area well and have property in the compound.

Absolutely incredible stay at the Banyan Tree Phuket - we decided to spoil ourselves for our honeymoon and the double pool villa did not disappoint. Phenomenal suite, pool was wonderful as were the views. Air con great and the bed was super comfortable. In pool breakfast for 1000baht was super worth it too.

The staff were incredible; so polite and helpful. The concierge, the buggy team and the spa staff were wonderful.

Would absolutely recommend the double pool villa for a special treat.

We loved our three bedroom villa, the children was playing in the private pool everyday, the staff even gave us giant inflatables to use too.
Everything about this resort was perfect, the only thing they need to improve on was breakfast time, because it seems like there is not enough tables for all the guests because there is always a wait, however once seated staff was very good and there was plenty of food options.
The resort was very quiet and not very near to anything but we only stayed here during the last few days of our holiday so we was happy to just stay at the resort.
We will definitely return again!

The Banyan tree resort was really elegant, beautiful and exotic. The staff were extremely polite and helpful. They were also very efficient. There were great dining options too , especially Saffron and Hojo! The only problem is I had to move to another Villa due to the bath tap not working properly, but overall I had a brilliant time and would very much indeed recommend it. I’ll definitely be staying here in a not so distant future.

A very peaceful resort, a bit out of tge way for local shops or restaurants other than those on the resort, which were great. Staff could not have been more helpful or attentive. Local shuttle bus or boat was useful, but only to other resorts. Grab taxis were cheap to get out a d about. Our villa was stunning, well maintained and laid out, ultimate luxury.

A Pleasant, Well-Run Escape

It was a wonderful place to relax. You can enjoy your own private pool or unwind at the hotel’s exclusive beach area. The buggy service is quick and convenient, and bikes are available to explore the large resort grounds. The resort also offers a range of activities such as meditation, yoga, and Muay Thai, so staying more than two nights is highly recommended. Housekeeping was excellent, and the overall operation of the resort appeared to be very eco-friendly. Breakfast is served outdoors, which can feel a bit warm, but the wide variety of international dishes caters well to guests from different countries. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay, with the resort’s operations running smoothly and efficiently to support a comfortable experience.

Lovely pool villas and really great service, particularly the General Manager who is always happy to help. They have some small renovations going on at the moment but it only had a minor impact on our stay, which was quickly resolved by the General Manager. The new beach club is really nice too, we will definitely be back!

Incredible stay at the banyan tree phuket

This place is stunning. Set in a series of lagoons about 20 minutes from Phuket airport. We stayed in a signature pool Villa and it was incredible. Inside the Villa was excellent with so much space even with a giant super king bed. The outside was perfect and we spent most of our time there. Great sunbeds and pool and the covered area was great for shelter from the sun or short downpours of rain. The facilities were exceptional and food incredible. It is more pricy than typical thailand prices but that is expected for what is more than a five star hotel experience. My wife has gluten allergies and they were so helpful and made sure options were available at breakfast. This was just what we needed before travelling south to Karon and kata. Would highly recommend the banyan tree we loved it.

After reading some negative reviews I was a little worried but Banyan Tree is truly a 5* resort with high level of services. Staff was very friendly, attentive and prompt. Food was very delicious, we tried Safron and Hojo restaurant and the service and food was beyond pur expectations. Breakfast was very delicious too. Room was clean, spacious and well maintained, pool with clean water was checked by pool service daily. The surrounding nature, trees, palms and gardens are very well maintained and you can cycling around inside the resort endlessly. We travel a lot and simply knew that Banyan resorts are always a guarantee of quality so was Banyan Tree Phuket too. We will definitely come back next year.

Very nice stay in a double pool villa. Efficient Check in/ Check out ( in the room), very efficient buttler trough whatsapp , room is big , clean, nice furniture, nice private pool and jacuzzi. Nice expérience ( barbecue inside villa, floatting breakfast in the villa, private yacht booking …) . 3 caviat: property is very big, you have private bike or buggy to call, beach club need to take a shuttle every 15min with 10min ride, lake or second pool not fully cleaned. All in all an excellent stay and memory.

I stayed here for 6 days for my family vacation.

During my stay, the main lobby was under renovation, so I couldn't use the Watercourt buffet or the Saffron restaurant. The breakfast buffet was moved to the golf course, but all the tables were outside, and it was so hot that it was difficult to eat. As a result, I ended up ordering room service for breakfast almost every day.

One of the staff who brought us coffee and breakfast to us (for room dining) had implicitly asked us for tips several times during our stay. He wouldn't leave my room until he gets tip. He was annoyed at me because I ordered coffee in the morning (3 days in a row), and he made a big show of bringing me the coffee. And when he brought us the food, he acted like he was doing me a huge favor by giving me some of it for free. But it doesn't make sense since the food is already included in the price. And on the last day of my stay, when I ordered full set breakfast, he forgot to bring me several items including butter & jam, orange juice, coffee, and bread.

Overall, the hotel's facilities are outdated and need improvement. Specifically, for a 5-star hotel, it's disappointing that most bathrooms don't have bidets, as this is a common amenity. The hotel also needs to address the musty and moldy smell that comes from the air conditioning. Furthermore, the housekeeping team's cleaning tools appeared very old, which didn't give guests a sense of cleanliness.

Property is very nice - very quiet and serene. Beach requires shuttle/boat, which isn’t bad but it’s not really walkable. The boat is a bit irregular on schedule. One night we were stuck on beach for longer than expected, but staff at the partner beach resort and banyan tree helped us with the shuttle.

Private pools are great, lots of free shuttles to nearby shopping, beach clubs, far enough from the other side of Phuket but still close enough if you want to experience it
We spent 9 days there and honestly should’ve easily spent 9 more, we will be back in a few months

The finishing is poor. Many defects. Painting. Broken towel holders poorly fixed. Breakfast definitely below standards in the past.

- Hotel transportation to private beach
- Great view of lagoon
- Privacy as this is a villa only property

Improvements needed:
- Brakes on most bicycles couldn't stop the bicycles (the property has lots of downward slopes) - need to use feet to stop on the narrow road to avoid incoming buggy cars
- Waited ~20 minutes under the hot sun at the outdoor activities centre for the staff to arrive in order to get and use the hotel kayaks

Love the property. We stayed in one of the renovated pool villas which was nicely done. We could see some parts of the resort needs renovation and updating. Warm and welcoming service. Housekeeping a little inconsistent and can be improved. Restaurant bookings also can be managed better. There could more choices of outlets for lunch and due to CNY, breakfast was a little chaotic, maybe open up one more outlet to accommodate the overflow of guests during breakfast? Beautiful setting and grounds. Highly recommended.

Actually this is the first review I ever did tbh, but you guys need to hear this before booking at Banyan Tree. Ritz was fully booked so I had to choose between Banyan and Anantara. Went with Banyan because the chain is very luxury and thought it will keep its level in Phuket. Was wrong. Awful hotel, really worn down and tired. Staff doesn’t care about you, breakfast is very bad, they don’t have their own beach. Buggies are work out completely. Gym is awful. I had better machines in 1996 in my high school. You have to take a self made tuk tuk truck (it’s literally falling apart and looks like my grandfather’s cattle transportation vehicle in the 70s, they call it a shuttle here) to a near by beach club where you pay 12$ for a corona and unfriendly staff. My friend told me that in 2012 this hotel was amazing. Well, in 13 years they haven’t done anything to renovate etc. Now we are at Anantara at a slightly more expensive rate, but omg the difference is a football field. Banyan just sucks big time. If you are looking for luxury just spend a tiny more and book at Ritz or Anantara. This is not worth it I swear.

we stayed in Bayan tree hotel in Phuket for 4 days and we couldn’t be happier for staying here.

the hotel and villa we stayed at was very spacious and thai/tropical style.
the hotel service is one of the best available and they were always ready to serve us.

The on premises amenities such as the gym and spa were very good.

The breakfast has a large selection of food and looking out on the lake side which was a splendid view.

I have to also thank the welcoming staff in the hotel, made the experience very memorable.

It was a property where we could truly experience the renowned reputation of Banyan Tree, and the accommodation we stayed in satisfied every member of our family. The friendly service of the staff left a lasting impression.
One thing to note is that I had read in several blog reviews that, when choosing a dinner course at the Saffron restaurant, there would be options for appetizers or desserts. However, on the day of our visit, only a fixed menu was served. I wasn’t aware that this had changed. The food was excellent.

Although the resort is ageing, it is fantastically maintained. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. The grounds of the resort are superb and offer a great variety of things to do. Also it’s easy to get out and see the surrounding beaches, eating and activities. We ate a few times in the resort restaurants and were pleasantly surprised at the cost to do so and the quality of the food. The room itself was great, everything we could have wanted.

Service was great. However, room cleaning staff could be briefed to care more for the customers and environment and not to throw away our plastic bag and also throw away our shower cap. A resort that claims to care for the environment should have somewhere informing customers how to indicate not washing the towels every day. Besides, it is a bit green washing to say the shower cap is environmental friendly without explaining how.

But room and pool villa made up for it. Great bicycle rental, kayaking. Gym in poor condition and requires modernization. Food at poolside disappointing. Wellness activity amazing but should consider allowing older kids to join as kids activity too you for older kids.

Beautiful hotel. We had a one bedroom villa with private pool and we were ready to move in here permanently. Everything was perfect- the grounds, the pool, hot tub, room, etc. The incense were a nice touch. Breakfast was outstanding. We wish we had more than two nights to enjoy all the hotel had to offer. Room service was a little pricey as was the excursion. We were there for our honeymoon and they brought us a beautiful cake to help us celebrate.

The greatest place to enjoy Phuket!

The Banyan Tree Resort at Phuket was just amazing! I and my family, including two kids, have rent a Pool-Villa unit. The room was so clean, and the private pool was great not only for the kids but also for the adults. The breakfast and room-service were exellent, and all the staff were so kind. It was one of the greatest trip for my family, and I am sure I will visit this place again (actually my kids want to come to this place every year!).

The hotel is so nice. Kinda far from downtown but everything you need is around. Restaurants around the hotel and dine-in Villa are very delicious. The free bicycles are good to move within the resort. The Villa size is huge for the kids. The pool are good for adults and kids. The spa was amazing. The hotel is PERFECT !!!

Wonderful stay. We had a 2 bedroom villa, which was well maintained, clean and very comfortable. The design shuts out the external world, and the air conditioning works well.
Breakfast was good, although it got very crowded.
We had an in villa bbq, and that was really nice. Lots of food, all very tasty, and the 2 staff members who helped us with setting up, cooking and serving the bbq were very friendly and helpful.
A great long weekend stay!!

It was a lovely hotel with private pool bungalow spreading out a manicured campus. Decoration was beautiful. The only complaint which brought down my rating to 3-4 was because of bug infestation. The outdoor bathtub was a romantic notion but the bugs were overwhelming. Moreover, the door from the bathtub to the bathroom and bedroom were not sealed tight. So at night it was a magnet for mosquitoes to gather and fed on us. The hotel provided us with 3-4 repellent units, it didn't stop the mosquitoes. The, there were gecko which came by to visit for its cool air and feeding. It was a bug-a-lord party.
If one could look passed that, the place was beautiful. Because the bungalows were spread out, a golf cart \"buggy\" must be called to transfer guests from private bungalow to lobby or restaurant.

The 2 bedroom signature villas were a real treat...absolute luxury! The concierge staff couldnt do enough for us and made our stay really special. Lovely was particularly helpful and thoughtful.

The staff was very good for our stay. We did have an issue with our pool, which took some effort to be fixed by Banyan Tree.

The only issue was the availability of the carts to take you around the property, especially during peak periods.

Hands down one of the most luxurious properties in Phuket. We were upgraded to the Spa Villa, and we could not get over how beautiful the bedroom was. My partner and I intend to come back, likely with a far longer stay, and take full advantage all that the resort has to offer. Due to our short stay, we weren't able to fully utilize ameneties such as the Wellness Center, but very much intend to next time.
