This was a beautiful resort, that was such great value for money, and was nice and quiet.
The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, breakfast buffet was consistently pleasing, the shared areas and pool were always clean and well maintained, and the beach across the road had great spots to eat as well as for massages. We would 100% stay here again!

Fantastic stay. We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment with our own pool which overlooked the beach. Staff, service and food were excellent. 15 min taxi to Bang Tao with plenty of shops and restaurants.

Our family had a wonderful stay at the resort. The staff were so attentive and friendly, while our rooms were spacious and clean. The kids loved the pool, both in the room and within the resort. The access to the beach was easy and the beach very quiet. Overall we had a wonderful stay!

Room ok but hotel in general not as good as other hotels we stayed in Phuket. Too expensive for what it was. Hotel a bit bland and a bit too far to walk to the other beach bars etc (40 mins)
We were disappointed for the price we paid.
Staff were nice but we had to wait 2 hours to check in even although the place was fairly quiet

Really pleasant stay at Movenpick Bangtao. Its a tad old but the hotel is well maintained and the environment is great for families. It has large rooms, a nice pool and close to the beach. There are mosquitoes though which can be annoying. Overall still 5 star

The property was well situated and 10min away from great local restaurants. Service from check in to check out all were exceptional. Greeted w Tea and host was able to accomodate us as we arrived much earlier than our regular checkin time. Facilties were excellent - clean and very well kept. Grear breakfast and good service all around. Will be back again. Beach was just few steps away w local restaurants as well.

We loved this resort! Our room was amazing. If you can splurg for the room with the private pool, get it!! It is so worth it to be able to take a swim at 3am, and you never leave your room. We had a room with two bedrooms, and it was huge. The place is uniquely designed and very nice. The staff is amazingly. Yean took care of us almost every day. He was excellent. The beach was a short walk away. I would recommend this resort to everyone. It is a little secluded. So you will have to take a taxi when you need to do things outside of the resort. But the staff makes that easy for you also. They get you a car really quickly. I have nothing bad to say about this resort. Our stay was amazing!!

We got the room with a private pool. It was a lovely room & the location was perfect! The hotel will provide a ride in a golf cart to the Laguna Golf Course, which is only a quick ride. The beach is sooo close! Be sure to grab sundowners at the beach restaurant Club 22. So nice to have your feet in the sand w/a drink watching the sunset and be so close to our room as well.
The staff were so friendly and quick! Pang at the front desk gave us great tips of where to go and we enjoyed each place. We will definitely stay here again!!

Quiet location, great for families. We stayed in 2 bedroom accomodation that was really spacious, with view for both sunrise n sunsets. The beds were cosy, and the apartment was tastefully decorated and resourced. Obviously due to low season less staff on the ground, but those who were there, were very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was good. The access to beach very easy.

Superb staff and location. Just 30 minutes from the airport and right next to the beach. The two-bedroom ensuite room with a fully equipped kitchen was fantastic for our family of four. We were lucky to receive an upgrade to a suite with a pool which was fantastic.

We loved the vibe of the hotel. It is clean and peaceful, conducive to rest and recharging. Our apartment and terase were huge and included everything we needed and more. The breakfast spread was generous, food was tasty and fresh. We especially enjoyed the assortment of fresh fruit juices. The staff is amazing. Everyone we met was helpful, always smiling and ready to help. The hotel offers 2 shuttle buses each way to and from the Lagoon, an area with shops and restaurants. Walking is also possible due to the short distance,and existence of side walks. It is very safe.
My only wish was that the beach was clean. Beach cleanliness is an issue that affects all Phuket beaches. Unfortunately, Phuket was not the paradise I was looking to find when I chose a place to vacation. The pictures I saw in the media/ www are not, in any way, the reality on the ground. We bought the islands tour as well, also hoping to find something clean and nice. although to no avail. Plastic bottles, fishing gear, bags, toys, flip-flops, glass, etc are littering every corner, beach, water, streets,everything. Did not get in the ocean as it seemed unsafe with the amount of litter. I heard from other tourists that Bali and other places in the region are just as dirty if not worse. Heart broken.
It seemed like there weren't a lot of tourists on the island. Seeing the environmental disaster that is unfolding, I can understand how people would avoid vacationing there. We will probably never return.

We had a two bedroom suite with a private swimming pool and jacuzzi facing the ocean. The layout was excellent with a bedroom and en-suite on either side of the open plan living/dining/kitchen. The rooms were lovely with everything provided in the kitchen and property that we might need. The towels folded into elephant shapes and orchids dotted around were a really gorgeous detail! Having our own pool was great! Staff are extremely friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The on-site restaurant The Palm Tree has excellent Thai and western food. The VIP privilege was 20% discount on all food and beverage, which we really appreciated. We rented a car which made it easy to drive all over Phuket and go out from the Laguna area where Movenpick hotel is located.

Only thing i would say negative is that they only have one restaurant but there are plenty of options near by and most of these restaurants offer free pick up service from the hotel..the front desk will be more than happy to help you with this.

We stayed at the Movenpick for 8 days and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property and staff are exemplary in all aspects and departments. From the moment we arrived till the moment we left the staff looked and served us with the very highest of customer service. We stayed in the 3 bedroom which was spacious, well located and provided a great retreat for us. The breakfast buffet is well catered for both Europeans and those who are wanting to taste the best the Far East has to offer. The pool and fitness center will keep you both relaxed and engaged and the staff go above and beyond including those in the Kids Club to the gardeners who keep the place looking radiant. A great stay.

We love the beach access, the beautiful accommodations, the breakfast, the restaurant, and that that it's not crowded. We came here in August and then brought our 4 kids, and my brother's family back for spring break.

It's lovely and quiet. Not over crowded at all. That being said, if you're looking for shopping and night life, probably stay in Patong.

We had a 5 night stay at the resort and it couldn’t have been more wonderful! The location is quiet, although it doesn’t have a private beach, it is literally across the road from it white sandy beaches. The rooms are clean and very spacious! We were upgraded from 1 to a 3 bed residence which was more than enough for 2 people! 😊

The breakfast is of high quality which what you’d expect from a 5* resort. The staff is helpful and nice everywhere.

Steven W is a hard working manager and goes out of his way to help other staff and guests.

We wouldn’t think twice about recommending this resort to others if you’re looking for some much needed relaxation away from the maddening crowd of Patong.

Nice place for a quiet relaxing.

I stayed in the 3 bedroom for two nights here. The room was fantastic with a high-ceiling spacious living room. The living room looks like 1500 square feet facing ocean. The balcony is also great for all the five adults to take a rest while watching a kid swiming in the small pool in the balcony. There is nothing to visit in the vicunity which may make enegetic people feel boresome. But there is a nice town in 5 min drive by taxi if you look for a big supermarket and nice restaurants. The hotel runs a complimentary bus the this town three times a day. This is a good place to take a peaceful and quiet retreat.

Amazing room and beach, Chico hour was different from the one I had in Cebu.

Hospitable staff, except for one lady in the Palm restaurant pushed me to buy drinks and told me they didn’t have tap water served, but I just had tap water ordered a day ago. Especially the Philippine girl in the restaurant and the reception girls, were super nice, helpful, polite and warm hearted.

Perfect resort for old folks and young kids.

The rooms are clean and their service is good. They are located near Bang Tao beach although it’s not their private beach. They provide free shuttle to Boat Avenue. The staff - eg Nueng, Pong and Steven (the manager) are awesome, providing personalized service. The food at the restaurant is good. Two thumbs up for the hotel.

Thank you to Michael (the GM) and his service team, our family enjoyed our stay very much. Have to admit that Movenpick is not a Big resort but everything is nice and warm and friendly, though the premises is a bit old and a bit far from center of Laguna. But the size of every apartment would definitely make you happy. Most importantly you always felt that you are being well taken of... regardless you were in the room, around the pool, in the restaurant having meals, one look they would come to you and respond...this is very important to our family. I would recommend this hotel to those family who are looking for quite, comfort vacation and excellent servicing..

Wonderful stay! Such a beautiful hotel. We enjoyed the quiet gorgeous area that the Bang Tao beach offered. That said, as you walk down the beach a way, certain areas aren't as well developed, but we didn't mind. We enjoyed avoiding the crowds of Patong. The Hotel and Staff were delightful. Such personalized attention every time we saw them. The breakfast is fantastic, and the restaurant's chef is SO good. We loved our dinners there. Not crowded at all when we were there- (Wednesday-Saturday stay). LOVED every second of our stay. Would love to return. (One suggestion-If you're looking for fun pools for the kids to play in, probably not the place for you- but if you want a lovely, quiet, delicious retreat This is a great spot for you.

The staff were very accommodating and allowed us early check in on arrival and late check out on departure.
The buffet breakfast offered a versatile menu selection. The food served off the menu for lunch and dinner were excellent. Housekeeping did a fabulous job maintaining our room. The private pool was my favorite.
Only down side, fix your jacuzzi in the gym and the spa was over priced. Gym hours also too limited. Some staff had difficulty with English, which made sone communication incomprehension difficult.

I really liked the hotel. It's not very big so there's not a lot of walking. Very nice pool and close access to the beach. Great restaurant at the hotel, for both breakfast and lunch. We stayed in the 3 bedroom residence it the rooms was beautifully decorated and equipped. The staff were all super friendly and nice. Convenient shuttle to the local market. Too bad we stayed for only 2 nights!

Smaller hotel on quieter Bangtao Beach

Just stayed for a week at Movenpick Bangtao Beach and had a great experience. Would definitely go back and stay there again.

Pros:
-Great and very friendly staff. Very helpful at making reservations and booking excursions.
-Great location. Right across a small street to the Bangtao Beach area, which is a less crowded and more quiet beach that you will find in other areas of Phuket. Perfect for young families.
-Lots of good restaurants in nearby Laguna area - almost all have a shuttle that will pick you up at hotel and return you after dinner.
-Room had tons of space. We had booked at 2 bedroom room for our family of 5.
-Fantastic breakfast buffet each morning with lots of Western and Asian options (was included in our room rate).
-Hotel pool was very large (and looked great at night).
-Great fitness center and nice spa for a hotel of this size.

Cons:
-Shower and tub in room could have been a little cleaner.
-Bar/food service at pool is a little slow - just be aware if you are in a hurry.
-Just a few spots here and there on the property that could use a little maintenance or new coat of paint.

Other:
-It's a smaller hotel, so if you are looking for a mega resort with multiple pools and tons of restaurants on the property, it's not for you. We liked going to Laguna in the evening for dinner and trying different places, so it was a great fit for us.
-As with many places in Phuket, the nearby beach is a public beach, so there is no hotel service directly on the beach.

Looking back at what we have experienced during our (family of 5) stay I’ve got several points to state:
1. Don’t go there at the end of the year. European management was completely absent at the time of our arrival. Local staff has terrible spoken English and no sense of service quality.
2. New Years party was awfull. Gatsby style thing that was completely out of context.
3. Room was spacious but rather or be renovated.
4. Gym is obviously small and lacking modern exercising stuff.
5. Restaurant (The Palm)... don’t go there unless you have two hours to spend waiting on your food.
6. Rooms are not being cleaned out every day. Unexpectable for 5* hotel.

These are the major points I wanted to mention.

Overall rating: definitely not 5-star hotel and not even close to 5- star service quality. Small area, one pool, weared out rooms and amenities.

One need to be aware that Bang Tao is very different from the bustling Patong Beach... but if this is understood and accepted then the Movenpick Resort is the perfect place to stay. Very friendly staff, nice facilities, beach right across the street, a nice pool with a pool bar... not a cheap place but worth it.

My friends and I had a wonderful time. The cleaning service was so kind. She left us bedtime notes wishing us good dreams. She made sure our rooms were clean and organized when we returned to our room. The staff was always smiling and even remembered that it was one of my friend's birthday and wished her a happy birtbday. I felt very safe and well taken care of. I will be back. They are also near a very good beach club

There was a warm and friendly welcome on arrival and despite our very early arrival we were efficiently checked in and allowed into our accommodation within half an hour. The apartment suites were spacious, clean and tastefully decorated.

We arrived during in the first week of September which is low season, as such the hotel was fairly quiet but that did mean that you pretty much had the faciities to yourself with no more than 1 or 2 families in the very large swimming pool at any one time. The buffet restaurant provided an excellent choice of western an asian cusine which were prepared to a very high standard. This also applied to the evening meals should you chose to dine in the restaurant. Staff are very friendly and efficient and it's a very relaxing resort to stay and chill out.

Family friendly experience

Wonderful luxurious hotel. It was lovely and quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of Patong across the road from the beach - although pretty it was too rough to swim in. Our 2 bedroom apartment for a family of 5 was perfect. So spacious! The pool and swim up pool bar were enjoyed by all of us. The kids loved the indulgent chocolate hour each day from 4-5pm and the adults enjoyed happy hour 2-for-1 cocktails from 5-6pm at the pool bar. Daily buffet breakfast was fabulous. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. Kids club was good but there were few kids around for it to be attractive to our 3. The spa was lovely but very expensive compared with a beach massage. Restaurant food was amazing but again expensive compared with beach side eats. Would highly recommend this place but be prepared to pay for taxi rides everywhere.

Nice, relaxing family stay

We had a nice relaxing stay at the hotel. The rooms were big and decently maintained. Staff were excellent and friendly. Breakfast buffet was good, but most of the dishes were repetitive (if they could plan a different variety every other day it would have been excellent). Checkin and checkout was super fast. One feedback is that they should provide complimentary items in minibar ( all items were chargeable). Overall the hotel stay was peaceful, relaxing and memorable.

Disappointing stay as was not as expected!

We have been visiting and staying at different 5 stars hotels in the Laguna for four times. The standard of this hotel can not be compared to the other 5 stars hotels in the area. It is below standard.

Fantastic hotel!

The rooms are huge and everything you need is available. Pool is really nice and never busy and the beach is located a stones throw away......also really nice!!
Staff can't do enough for you here and are really welcoming!!
Great place!
Just be prepared to get a lot of taxis as not too close to main town areas.

Gorgeous, exceptional service at every level.

We could not have asked for more during our stay. The property was exemplary and gorgeously maintained. We were greeted with fresh orchids on arrival and in our beautiful suite. The service was above and beyond at every level. Our only regret was that we had so many planned excursions we did not have enough time to make use of the hotel and grounds. We look forward to doing so upon our return.

The hotel was beautiful and right next to the beach. The staff new all of us by name and literally nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were truly amazing - we have never stayed anywhere with such big rooms.

Beautiful, peaceful resort. Friendly staff!

There were 3 of us traveling together, so we opted for a 2 bedroom suite. It was enormous! It had a full kitchen and 2 1/2 bathrooms. Everything was very clean and worked well. The staff was super nice and helpful. They helped us book multiple excursions. This hotel is right on the beach, however, it's not very safe to swim right there next to the hotel due to a strong undertow. But if you walk just five minutes in either direction, there are lifeguards and many people swimming and the current is much easier. We opted to spend most of our time at Movenpick's immaculately clean pool, though. Every afternoon the staff would bring samples of fruity drinks to us. It was great! The food in the restaurant was great too, although pricey.

We loved our stay at Mövenpick !
From the excellent amenities to the friendly and welcoming staff !
Highly recommend this resort for couples right through to even large families.
The 3 bedroom villa with jetted spa and sea views was simply stunning.
We WILL be back...

Relaxing and Luxury Family Resort

The hotel is outstanding, we stayed int he 3 bedroom residence and it was very stylish, clean and quiet with 4 bathrooms, two balconies and its own kitchen and dining. The buffet breakfast always had a selection which each member of the family could enjoy from continental through to eggs bar and hot offering (which is impressive as there were 6 of us with 4 kids of varying ages and fussiness).
The staff were very friendly, the kids loved kids club and they even organised babysitters when needed. The pool facilities are great however there is no paddling area for toddlers if thats needed. The beach could be a lot better however we visited in the off season when the sea is very rough so that could change during the peak season. A short 5 min taxi into the main town and restaurants, however please haggle as there are no common fares but if you tell them you want a return they will give extra discount.

This hotel is fantastic!

My family and I spent 2 nights over the residence suites. It is very spacious and clean. We enjoy spend our time in the hotel. The only turn down is it is far from Phuket Town.
