Air conditioning works fifths of the time, I have to reset the switch in around 1 hour through out the night because the switch at the plug keeps on kicking off. Basically I can’t sleep because it gets hot.

The staff at the office were pleasant and funny. Rooms were clean but dated. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast had a few warm selections and a few protein - rich foods. I would stay there again if I ever come back through the area

The young woman who greeted me noted I was very tired. She immediately moved me to a ground level room. Room was extremely comfortable. Parking close to entrance. I departed before breakfast hours but staff had a basic breakfast ready and I departed with a hot coffee. Great job!

Yes, it’s a budget hotel. That being said, spend the extra money to stay elsewhere. The room was just gross and neglected. The comforters were filthy and covered with stains- just clearly haven’t been washed in ages. Towels had been washed but were heavily stained; the shower barely got warm; the toilet wobbled; the upstairs hallway was super dark… If it were just one of these things I’d be able to look past it. But there wasn’t a single clean, well kept area of this place. It might be ok the cheaper end of hotels in Montrose but I can assure you it’s overpriced for what you get.

The shower faucet leaked terribly, we had to close the bathroom door and turn the bathroom fan on to drown out the noise, the heater/AC made terrible, loud noises each time it kicked on,We did not sleep well at all! When we did get up to go to our sons wrestling tournament, we woke up to a very "full" bed bug crawling on the sheets.I took a video to show management and when he saw, he tried to tell me "we don't have bed bugs"... even after seeing the video.
I requested a full refund for the two nights we were supposed to stay (we only stayed the one night) we couldn't get out of there fast enough! Hopefully I receive my full refund. I will know in a couple of days :(

The staff were fantastic. Went above & beyond to help me with a problematic moving truck rental. Basically saved the day for me!!!
Rooms were comfortable & clean. I especially was appreciative of the layout of the bathroom which easily facilitated the use of the toilet as I have bad knees. I will definitely be staying here for any future trips to Montrose.

I was pleasantly surprised at the cost of the room. We have dogs and I got a room right next to outside door on first floor. The pet area had gravel and was clean. First place I have gone to with a doggie relief area. The room was spotless and quiet!

Outdated motel in a sketchy part of town. Overwhelming scent of air freshener in the hallways. Owner accused me of having my dog off leash(I didn’t)and not picking up after my dog and threatened to charge an extra fee. He finally re-reviewed the security tapes and realized it wasn’t me. But not before he called and cussed at me. However, there is dog poop ALL around the property, so maybe it’s a scam they run.
Definitely would never stay there again.

The bathroom walls were disgusting which made me wonder how clean everything else really was. Also, we needed a handicapped accessible room, which was not available. They said they did not get my request from Expedia to have a downstairs room if a handicapped accessible room was not available (since there was no elevator). The hotel was booked, so they could not give us another room and offered nothing else to help us. I used to work for a hotel and I know they could have called around and helped us find another room at a sister hotel, but they didn't even offer. The staff was very cold to us after that even when we tried to say hello and smile. We felt just because we complained about the room issue that we were no longer welcome, but they took our money and didn't offer anything in return so it's not like we could leave. We weren't happy.

Found a bug in the bed. That wasn’t the worst part…
I arrived mid-afternoon, checked in, left my bags in the room and left to do some sightseeing. When I came back that evening and turned down the bed, I found a small bug. I grabbed a tissue, picked up the bug and threw it away.
At that point I decided this place was not for me. There were other sketchy things about the place (dimly lit hallways, door didn’t close properly) but the bug in the bed was a dealbreaker. Not at all what I expected from the reviews or for the price they charged.
Then came what to me was the worst part. I go to the front desk to get this resolved, quietly. I let another guest go ahead of me, check in and leave the lobby first to avoid a scene. I then told the man about the bug and that I wouldn’t be staying there.
His response was essentially to accuse me of lying. Did I have a picture? Was the bug still there? Unless he could investigate and confirm for himself there was nothing he could do, he said. I’d had enough and wasn’t digging through trash for proof.
I’d love to know what scam he thought I was trying to pull. I had been in the room a grand total of 20 minutes between dropping off my bags and returning later. What exactly was I getting from this, besides the hassle of having to find another place to stay after a long day on the road?
What I expected was an apology and a refund, not whatever that was. I generally don’t leave reviews but this kind of anti-hospitality deserves one.

The floors are un even in room and hallway. The cracks in the walls are very noticeable. When you take a shower using the shower curtain you flood the bathroom floor. Would not recommend this particular property to anyone. It is old and needs updating. The bathroom was not as clean as could be. Thank you

Hotel was fine for a one night quick stay before an early flight. However please note there is no elevator if you are on the second floor. Rooms were quiet, clean and AC worked well. The room decor is very outdated and the cleaning smell was strong enough I had to open window for a couple hours. Also there was no transportation available to the airport. We had to rent a car.

I’m writing to share our disappointment regarding a recent stay at your property. Unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory due to the condition of the room.

Upon arrival, we found the blankets and sheets covered in pet fur, which was both unhygienic and unacceptable. To make matters worse, there were no staff available to assist, and we had to change the bedding ourselves. Despite this inconvenience, we were not offered a refund or even a credit for the trouble.

We believe this situation warrants a follow-up and would appreciate being contacted directly to discuss a resolution. We hope you take this feedback seriously and address the cleanliness and staffing issues to prevent future guests from facing similar problems.

horrible experience in Montrose Colorado

We checked into the hotel late after a long day of hiking at the near by National Park, so we dropped our luggage and headed out to eat some dinner. Once we returned, we prepared ourselves to sleep and upon pulling back the blankets on the bed, we saw that while the bed was fully made, the sheets and pillow cases were still dirty. it even looked like there was hair on one of the pillow cases. there was only one person on staff who was able to provide new linens but we changed them ourselves. as if that wasn't bad enough, we should have checked the towels in the bathroom. once my shower was complete, I went to use a "fresh" towel only to find out that was dirty too. This hotel is absolutely horrible. The entire building leans to the east so you constantly felt that you were on an angle. I would never stay here or anywhere like it again. frankly, I think you should never list it on your site. I have attached a compilation of pictures.

I needed a blanket at 2:30 in the morning and there wasn't one. You should have an extra one in the room. You should have someone go through the rooms and detail them. Meaning clean up the little things, like epoxy drips in the bathtub, paint splashes, clean corners that sort of thing.

The Expedia pictures made the place look bright and cheerful, but the day we were there the hallway was dark and felt gloomy; and the room we got was smaller than expected and had some issues - the shower handle was hard to adjust and toilet seat or toilet was a bit loose. Overall it was not worth the price we paid.
