I didn't have high expectations to start, but the bathroom was ridiculous. The shower curtain bar was barely attached to the wall on both sides. The sink would not drain unless you removed the stopper piece completely. The toilet had seen better days. The room was incredibly crowded.

It was a terrible experience staying at Super 8. The staff was rude and not cooperative. Because of wildfires in Ouray and Telluride, we requested an early checkout but the staff and the manager did not cooperate.

We paid for the nights when we did not even stay there. The manager was rude and did not cooperate despite the unforseen sitation with bad AQI in Montrose.

Overall very terrible experience at this property and would not recommend it to anyone.

It was very quiet, I couldn't hear anyone once I was in my room. That is critical for me.
My AC made a noise the first night and I reported it and a new AC was installed the next day and I was given a different room for the night.
The cleaning ladies were very friendly and helpful.
My only suggestion would be to get some kind of lighting in the hall upstairs as it was hard to see where to slide the key card. But I managed ok.
I would definitely stay here again.

It was conveniently located to Black Canyon NP. Otherwise it was dark, dingy, stained sheets, and cracked bath tub. The breakfast was okay, some cereal, oatmeal packet, waffle machine, and toast. There wasn't nearly enough room for people to sit and eat, though, which is challenging with small children. We booked the room for four people but they only provided three towels (we went and got another). The AC took a while to kick in but once it did it worked well.

This is a budget. Hotel Montrose is a good location towards the area if you’re on a budget. From here telluride and some of the other towns like ouray are feasible to drive. Don’t expect a lot, we have issues with our shower in our air conditioner lady at the front desk was friendly, but the gentleman not so much amenities were a little lacking.

This is definitely a budget Hotel, The breakfast was adequate but nothing outstanding, the room shower wasn’t working properly in our room, the air conditioner also had issues, the lady at the front desk was very helpful, but the gentleman was seeming like he was having a bad day. Anyways, for our needs in that area and for the price, it was fine.

We had two rooms. We arrived around 9:30 pm. It took over 15 minutes for someone to help us and check us in. There were two groups waiting. No one responded.

Issues we encountered:

Room #1 -
- hair in the sink upon arrival
- refrigerator did not work
- shades were in terrible condition
- very few working outlets

Room #2
- hair in the shower
- Shades were in terrible condition.
- TV intermittently turned on randomly
- SMOKE ALARM WAS MISSING!!!

Overall not a great experience. When I told the person at the front desk in the am - she didn’t write anything down about the issues we encountered and said a manager would call. So far no one has contacted me. I feel bad for the next person getting these two rooms.

Overall very good property.
The room is clean but you will notice the room has been updated in pieces over last few years.
The hotel is hot but the a/c in room is excellent!
This room is “good” for me, the caveat is the shower shows its use (my OCD) via bottom of tub stains, it’s very clean.
Linens are showing their age, again clean.
The staff I encountered was helpful and nice.
$100 cash, debit, or credit deposit required at hotel check-in.
No shade in parking lot, safe though.
I really like the furniture in room 210.
No elevator is biggest issue, so opt for first floor depending on your situation.
Overall good property.

Room was not vacuumed, still had finger prints on mirror, food behind tv, crumbs all around bed and desk. Door handle locks were very poorly installed. I could unscrew it by hand. Air conditioner blew warm air when supposed to be blowing cold. 1 trash can by the dresser, no room service for 5 days. Went to get my deposit back, they said they were keeping it because of stains on the towels. Towels were stained when we got em. Overall horrible experience!!

Room very dark as was the hallway. Bathroom very small and room felt claustrophobic. Would have been better if it wasn't painted dark green. Beds kept sliding off the base. It needs new beds, bedding and towels although clean very worn. Staff helpful when we needed anything. Also walls paper thin and could hear everything from next room.

The young woman who greeted me noted I was very tired. She immediately moved me to a ground level room. Room was extremely comfortable. Parking close to entrance. I departed before breakfast hours but staff had a basic breakfast ready and I departed with a hot coffee. Great job!

Yes, it’s a budget hotel. That being said, spend the extra money to stay elsewhere. The room was just gross and neglected. The comforters were filthy and covered with stains- just clearly haven’t been washed in ages. Towels had been washed but were heavily stained; the shower barely got warm; the toilet wobbled; the upstairs hallway was super dark… If it were just one of these things I’d be able to look past it. But there wasn’t a single clean, well kept area of this place. It might be ok the cheaper end of hotels in Montrose but I can assure you it’s overpriced for what you get.

The shower faucet leaked terribly, we had to close the bathroom door and turn the bathroom fan on to drown out the noise, the heater/AC made terrible, loud noises each time it kicked on,We did not sleep well at all! When we did get up to go to our sons wrestling tournament, we woke up to a very \"full\" bed bug crawling on the sheets.I took a video to show management and when he saw, he tried to tell me \"we don't have bed bugs\"... even after seeing the video.
I requested a full refund for the two nights we were supposed to stay (we only stayed the one night) we couldn't get out of there fast enough! Hopefully I receive my full refund. I will know in a couple of days :(

The staff were fantastic. Went above & beyond to help me with a problematic moving truck rental. Basically saved the day for me!!!
Rooms were comfortable & clean. I especially was appreciative of the layout of the bathroom which easily facilitated the use of the toilet as I have bad knees. I will definitely be staying here for any future trips to Montrose.

Outdated motel in a sketchy part of town. Overwhelming scent of air freshener in the hallways. Owner accused me of having my dog off leash(I didn’t)and not picking up after my dog and threatened to charge an extra fee. He finally re-reviewed the security tapes and realized it wasn’t me. But not before he called and cussed at me. However, there is dog poop ALL around the property, so maybe it’s a scam they run.
Definitely would never stay there again.

The bathroom walls were disgusting which made me wonder how clean everything else really was. Also, we needed a handicapped accessible room, which was not available. They said they did not get my request from Expedia to have a downstairs room if a handicapped accessible room was not available (since there was no elevator). The hotel was booked, so they could not give us another room and offered nothing else to help us. I used to work for a hotel and I know they could have called around and helped us find another room at a sister hotel, but they didn't even offer. The staff was very cold to us after that even when we tried to say hello and smile. We felt just because we complained about the room issue that we were no longer welcome, but they took our money and didn't offer anything in return so it's not like we could leave. We weren't happy.

Found a bug in the bed. That wasn’t the worst part…
I arrived mid-afternoon, checked in, left my bags in the room and left to do some sightseeing. When I came back that evening and turned down the bed, I found a small bug. I grabbed a tissue, picked up the bug and threw it away.
At that point I decided this place was not for me. There were other sketchy things about the place (dimly lit hallways, door didn’t close properly) but the bug in the bed was a dealbreaker. Not at all what I expected from the reviews or for the price they charged.
Then came what to me was the worst part. I go to the front desk to get this resolved, quietly. I let another guest go ahead of me, check in and leave the lobby first to avoid a scene. I then told the man about the bug and that I wouldn’t be staying there.
His response was essentially to accuse me of lying. Did I have a picture? Was the bug still there? Unless he could investigate and confirm for himself there was nothing he could do, he said. I’d had enough and wasn’t digging through trash for proof.
I’d love to know what scam he thought I was trying to pull. I had been in the room a grand total of 20 minutes between dropping off my bags and returning later. What exactly was I getting from this, besides the hassle of having to find another place to stay after a long day on the road?
What I expected was an apology and a refund, not whatever that was. I generally don’t leave reviews but this kind of anti-hospitality deserves one.

The floors are un even in room and hallway. The cracks in the walls are very noticeable. When you take a shower using the shower curtain you flood the bathroom floor. Would not recommend this particular property to anyone. It is old and needs updating. The bathroom was not as clean as could be. Thank you
