The property is very run down, and our room was very dirty. To top that off, we were woken up at 7:30 AM to someone blasting their bass in a car just outside the window for several minutes. Overall, the worst experience I have had at a hotel in years.

I do have to say that the staff was very helpful however, and were able to refund my stay. They were nice, friendly, and apologized for the experience.

We did not use the amenities as we only were there for the night. Room was clean enough but definitely not spotless. We stayed twice, a week apart and found the same children’s toys under the beds each time. Walking up to our room, the carpet was coming off of the stairs and paint was coming off the wall. For the price it’s an alright motel

The shower was broken where the head rests in its holster so you had to hold the shower head the entire shower and the microwave needs help.
I had requested an accessible room but was told it has rails but not a walk/roll in shower. Not accessible for someone who can't step over the side of the tub.
It was quiet.

THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE WORTHLESS. GOOD: Hot water and water pressure, clean towels, sheets, and good room sizes. BAD: My wife and I took the time to photograph four different live roaches and we found numerous dead roaches under the refrigerator when we moved it slightly to plug in an extension cord. I am waiting to see if the review will accept photographs. WORTHLESS: I never book anythin without wifi. The wifi was not working in the Annex building where they put us (Room 307) and the Manager said it was an Expedia Room, as if we were delegated to some kind of outer darkness since we booked at a great rate through Expedia. The Annex building hadn't been cleaned in what I could only guess was years. We didn't desire the \"Free Breakfast\" for concerns that the kitchen was not any more hygenic than the room. I will never stay at a Rodeway Inn again! I should mention that we take one or two cruises a year and travel to remote places on earth but this place is full of misrepresentation and filth.

When I arrived and went in the lobby, there was no one at the front desk. There was a sign saying \"I have stepped away. Please call my cell phone\". As I was calling the number, a man came out to the desk looking dishevled, with shaky hands. He spent 10 to 15 minutes trying to log in to the computer, with no luck. He went in the back and came back out with another woman, who tried to help. She kept moaning that she was in pain. That lady left, then he first guy wwnt next door to another b hotel to bring over a former Rodeway employee to help him sign in to the computer. To make a VERY long story short, I found out that they had given away my room (which i had already paid for on Expedia) to someone using my name, reservation number, and account number!! Her must have given him MY paid-for room without checking his ID. Other strangeness ensued, but I'm running out of space here. Worst hotel experience of my life! And I've been to thousands.

We booked on Expedia. That went well. The Rodeway Inn is old. Upon arrival the desk clerk, Teresa was great, however, the facility was terrible. Housekeepping did not clean the rooms. Limited supply of cleaned rooms. When we did get a room, we turned on the heat. OMG!!! IT STUNK. smelled like a wet mangy dead decaying animal. The filter of the HVAC unit needs serious cleaning. We went to the desk for a cleaning product like Lysol nothing available. Another patron happen to have a can of lysol. Helped a little, but after 3-4 minutes the unit shut down. Back down to the desk. Moved to another room. HVAC smelled better, but the room had NO toilet paper. So 4th trip back down to the desk. Teresa was great, breakfast was really good, but the property needs serious updating, clean filters, housekeeping needs to do their joob. I will not stay here again.

Outdoor pool closed for the season. Indoor pool not in service. Only 2 towels for 3 adults. No hot water and shower head didn't work correctly. Ran out of food 45 minutes prior to end of breakfast and wouldn't make more until manager was called. Ran out of toilet paper. No TV remote. Only good thing was the beds were comfortable.

If you’re just looking for a place to sleep, then yes, I wouldn’t pay 3x as much for nearby hotels in McPherson. If you’re looking for clean, updated, amenities, this won’t be the place for you. A few bugs in the bathroom, musty smell in the room, but I didn’t feel unsafe, bed was fine. Unfortunately, I stayed on a weekend where there was a dog show of some sort, so there were dogs barking in other rooms, one through the night.

The first room we were shown to was completely run down and had a funny smell. There was a huge spider in the bathtub. When we asked to see what else was available the staff was very polite and put us in a much better room. After the move to the new room I would say my biggest complaint was the lack of WiFi. The breakfast was okay.

DO NOT STAY HERE! my room was so dirty, looked like carpet hasn’t been vacuumed in months, along with pile of dirt/bugs in corner by front door, under the bed is disgusting, I found a dead cockroach in my room, my brother found a live one in his, there are open areas on corners of walls with sharp metal sticking out that I cut my arm on. Outside lights don’t work in most areas, only above where the maintenance guy lives. Heat lamp above shower had no bulb, no cover and it was full of dirt. I got what I am hoping is only flea bites all around my ankles, better not be bedbugs! Shower head barely spits out water. Water stained ceiling tile in bathroom. Breakfast is sub-par.

Room was not throughly cleaned prior to visit. There was lint/dirt on carpet and hair in bathtub. The main lamp was without a light bulb so we fumbled in the dark finding another lamp to turn on. Comforter on the bed isn’t a comforter at all. Barely a light blanket that barely covers the bed. When we went to breakfast, food was gone, there was no employee to help or refill items.

Definitely not a luxury stay, but is adequate for a quick night’s sleep in the road which is all we needed. Overall, it was safe and convenient, but the facilities and rooms could use updating and better cleaning. Both our rooms had some dead bugs, and did not look thoroughly cleaned, but were not terribly dirty either. Our tub had mildew stains around the edges on the caulking (bleach can remove this!) and the tub itself was very worn and discolored from age. Breakfast is included, but was a little sad. Overall, you get what you pay for. Not bad, but not really that great either.

I rented 2 rooms. One room had dirty sheets and had get new bedding. The door looked like it had a pry bar used on it. One room was covered in mold/mildew. They gave us a new room that had a floor that needed vacuumed and the carpet was wet by the door. Both rooms had dead bugs.

Afordable price if you are not picky

It was extremely affordable, not many options with so many hotels sold out for the State Fair. We were a late check-in, and told it was the last two rooms at check- in. Nobody waz at the desk, had to call someone to check-in. The room was not up to my cleanliness standards, (see pictures rm 302) and obviously had safety issues missing a secondary lock. We had other family that stayed and their room wasn't in as bad of condition but the tv in their room did not work rm 352, and they said the bathroom was disgusting with stains. We were not even there 11 hours so we made do with it. The breakfast was great, lots of options, and actual hot food sausage, eggs, potato. We did not see or use the pool. It was very dark at night without a lit sign, and a poorly lit entrance. I also could hear everyone in the hallway being loud, but did not hear them once in the room. The room had an interior hall door and an exterior door which made loading and unloading easy. The property has great potential.

Well, the best thing about my staying there it was the break fast that was my favorite part, but the day I check I I got a room that someone was already there, then the firs morning, a housekeeper knocked on my door saying “housekeeper “ so I got up and told her not today we still sleeping, then one night my toilet got clogged so I went to the front office to notify and the lady said “we don’t have any maintenance right now unless you want to do it so I asked her for the plunger and we went to look for it, guess what I had to do it my self, well I didn’t get room service after all and I had to go ask for clean towels that was my experience.

Checked in and 1st room for didn't work and couldn't get in. 2nd room had holes in the walls, the ceiling tiles were dirty and stained, and the bed sheets had stains that looked like pee or poop stains on them. Lady working was mad when I told her I just wanted to check out and go find another room because she was at the pool talking with her friends and even asked if I was going to make her walk up to the office to check me out. I think the health department should check on this hotel as it was disgusting.

Spent a week at the hotel and it was definitely something to remember. Enjoyed their outside pool, the ac, the nice clean bed. Everything about it was enjoyable. The only issue I would say I had were the flies. They seemingly constantly increased in numbers or decreased, but there were always flies inside. Other than that everything was amazing, would definitely stay again.

This was my second time staying here and I'd stay here again. With that said, this is a budget motel. The cost is a great value. The rooms are big, the beds are comfortable, the staff is exceptional, and the complementary self-serve breakfast is hot and tasty. The pool was nice and several families were swimming on a hot day. It was great as a place to unwind and overnight before heading out the next morning. There are plenty of restaurants and stores very close. A nice gas/convenience station is right next door and Walmart is across the street. I get the feeling that this is probably locally-owned. Not a lot of staff, so those who are employed wear many hats. It's an older building and a bit run down (needing things like paint on doors and various repairs), but the property is not otherwise neglected. The grass was mowed and the essentials were taken care of.
It's supposed to be a non-smoking property, but my room smelled of smoke. Someone either smoked inside, outside with the door open, or with the air conditioner filtering it in. It was tolerable or I would have asked to switch rooms, which I'm sure they would have happily allowed. The air conditioner kept the room at 72 in late June with temps outside around 85+. There were a couple bulbs missing out of lamps, but I moved one bulb to from one lamp and got all of them working with one bulb each. The iron was missing but they ran one up to me in 5 minutes.

We had to last minute book a hotel stay here after breakdown with our camper. What landed us here was their availability to bring our dogs with us. I was worried reading some reviews previously but we have had the BEST experience. First of all, it couldn’t have got more affordable. Second, hauling all of our kids and dogs, our bedroom had FOUR beds & SO much space so no one had to be close to eachother if we didn’t want too.
I had some trouble reaching the hotel prior to our visit, I was able to send them a message via our booking app, and the GM called me personally on her own time while she wasn’t even at the hotel. She answered all of our questions & was so kind to us.
Breakfast was awesome! They had lots of choices for us and the kids as well. Everyone was extremely polite walking into breakfast as well.
We went to the pool & it was extremely clean & our kiddos had so much fun. They said we could bring our own floats & had a shallow end for our small kiddos and a deeper end (9 foot) for us!
In a rush, I forgot to ask them about checkout. I texted the GM to see if we could do a late checkout, she responded immediately and was happy to allow us to have a late checkout so our kiddos could have some swim time before we had to go.
We have had a great experience. Our room WAS clean. And while we were swimming we watched multiple people out cleaning rooms in the 95 degree weather and 35 mph wind. So I definitely could see that rooms were being cleaned despite other reviews.

The check-in staff was very helpful in kind. The room was okay besides that the carpet was pretty well soaked near the main door. The bathroom was, appearance wise, below par for the price. The fridge still had someone else's food in it and there was a hat under the bed upon arrival; not a big problem but it was evidence of poor housekeeping/cleanliness. The breakfast was a bit lacking but better than nothing. Even the juice was in low quality prepackaged containers. I didn't get a chance to try the pool or the hot tub, or any other amenities, so I cannot speak to those. For the cost, we'll be going elsewhere next time.

We were not able to stay at this filthy place. From the first drive up to the Inn it looked like it had been shut down for years with not a single vehicle in the parking lot. We did go in and the place was abandoned. We called out to try to find someone and no one answered. We needed a restroom from hours of travel but both the Men's & Women's had out of order signs on them due to water leaks. We finally saw a counter sign that said to call this number. The attendant answered and came to the office. Not at all professionally dressed but she was very pleasant. The credit card machine did not work so she asked if she could write down my CC number and that was a definite NO. We did hesitantly take the room keys and drove around to the back of the buildings for our room. I was afraid to park my nice vehicle and the room was not clean. There were no comforters on the beds, cat food on the floor, spaces around the a/c unit that we could see light through, etc. We simply did not feel safe with the clientele we saw outside the rooms.
Obviously many were long term residents as there were chairs and small grills outside their door. Some had metal doors with hotel numbers but no windows. That was very odd. Just Gross! So we returned our keys and left.

Front desk was amazing - very helpful. Hotel is older - still have renovations going on. Hot tub (although advertised) is not in working condition. Breakfast was good. Although the sheets were clean - room was not. Sticky cup ring on nightstand, hair in bathtub, poker chip left in room, Gum and candy wrapper in hallway when I checked in - still there in same spot 3 days later when I checked out. Concerning sign regarding no smoking and losing your job if you smoke in the building, doors propped open at night. Housekeeping drags sheets on floor when folding (door open - I observed). This is a pet friendly hotel but I do not think that includes the hotel staff’s dog going in and out the kitchen and the room where breakfast served

Worst hotel ever. Dis-gusting. They were also skimming credit cards. Sleeping wet in the gutter next to the hotel would have been a better option.

Front desk clerk was great. First room we couldn’t get into the room, had to go back to office to get new key cards to a different room (desk clerk was great, she had the cards ready when I walked in) hall ways and stairs were dirty, trash piled up over the sides of the trash cans and on the floor in the stair well entry. The room had two missing lights in the ceiling, bathroom was so dim you could hardly see what your doing, hairs in the beds between the “clean” sheets, tons of cracker and chip crumbs under the pull out sofa, no sheets for pull out, only a stained mattress. From the reviews it said older but clean and I’m fine with that but this is beyond that.

When we arrive no one was at the front desk, took some time to get someone to come.
Room was super dusty and dirty, we ended up leaving to a different hotel.

This facility is extremely dated. Upon entering the room the smell of disinfectant or air freshener was so overwhelming that within 10 minutes we became ill and were forced to leave. In addition the facility is no smoking but the smoke in the stairwell was also overwhelming. We did not stay here and spent additional money to move to a different facility

Honestly, we were only there to sleep and it serves its purpose. Beds were comfortable, rooms were clean and shower was so so. Its close to the highway, restaurants and Wal-Mart. Staff was friendly.

First room they could not get the door open so they move me to diffrent room and door is stuck also but got in. They must not have paid their cable bill because they had no TV service or wifi either.

The room was clean. Pool looked nice. We were not at hotel much so we did not swim. Staff was friendly. Would definitely stay here again.
