Our room had lots of dirt, dust and dog food in the corners. The room was barely dusted. There was hairs in the bed sheets. The walls were dirty. Chairs were soiled. We did request a pet friendly room, however I didn’t even want my dog to sleep on the floor. The bathroom lights were so dusty there were dead mosquitoes in the dust.
The room reaked of cigarette smoke and there was a thin blanket between two sheets for warmth.

The lobby is closed after hours, which I wasn't aware of. I felt really bad making the staff member come over from their home to check us in after midnight. I typically would choose a hotel with a lobby staffed 24/7. The room was very large and the beds were comfortable. But everything was very dirty, including either blood or ketchup stains on the walls and curtains, a spot of dried liquid on the bedspread, and just general dust and dirt on window sills, and along the corners of the room. The deadbolt just spun in circles, and the chain lock was partially pulled out of the door. The carpet felt very dirty on bare feet, like maybe it was one large spill that had dried or they had tried to clean the carpets but didn't rinse out the soap well so the carpet just kinda made your feet feel sticky/dirty. I spent the whole 2 days suppressing my urge to go buy some cleaning supplies and clean the place myself. But the staff member I interacted with (who I pulled out of bed by checking in so late) was very nice. And the room is huge and would be good for a family traveling with multiple kids who needed space for like an air mattress.

Rooms trash was not emptied from previous guests, parking lot filled with sketchy junkies roaming around asking me if I wanted to smoke up with them. Room had multiple broken lights, shower was still wet with hair in it, shower head is broken. Breakfast is just 1 item you can grab and go, I didn’t even bother trying to get anything, wanted to leave asap. Type of hotel where you have the gun out on the nightstand while you sleep.

Everything in Colorado is expensive. The first room they gave me was not clean so they immediately gave me another unfortunately it was a handicap room with a roll in shower. Everything was at the level if someone was in a w/c they could reach it. The coffee pot was broke, a standing lamp was broke, you had to ask for what choice was available for breakfast, then the staff would bring it to you. But it served its purpose for a couple of nights.

Though it was a short overnight stay, the room was spacious and clean. The property is a bit outdated with no USB adapters to charge phones. Old AM/FM radio and phone in restroom mafe me giggle. No bottled water for morning coffee, very appreviated breakfast with coffee to go. Didn't notice a hot tub. Overall great value for $50.

The room was dirty.Bugs in room. Shabby furniture. Closet door didn't work. Lighting and vent fan in bathroom didn't work. Bathroom smelled of mildew. We had to unscrew 4 of the 10 lights over the sink because of the high-wattage bulbs used. The curtains were torn in places. The "continental breakfast", with the worst coffee with only powdered creamer, left us wondering '"what continent are they referring to?" Exterior was nothing like the pictures on Expedia. Those pics look like they were taken 25 years ago!

Our first room had dried blood and wet blood in the shower. A ton of dead bugs on the window sill. We got in very late and I wasn’t going to make the kids stay up, so we slept there one night and I contacted staff for a new room in the morning. The new room was much better, and more quiet. The first room was unacceptable. Hopefully I will get a partial refund. I did submit pictures. The staff on site were great.

If you want a cheap room this is the place. Bed comfortable and checkin clerk friendly. But WiFi didn’t work, tv sound cut out, dresser mirror fallen on floor, front of drawer off, tile off in bathroom, phone blinking with message that can’t be retrieved, no batteries in tv remote, smoke alarm on ceiling has no cover nor battery, toilet phantom flushes, no hot water when all the permanent residents get home from work, choice of breakfast items off a short list - prepared in the closet by desk clerk “to go” (she toasted a bagel served with 1 butter & 1 grape jelly packet - plus a nutrigrain bar), coffee grounds still in pot from previous guests.

It's fine for what it was. The price was fair enough. It had a fridge, was close to town. The room smelled like smoke, and the floor was warped. It is obviously an old hotel. The water pressure was good in the shower, toilet ran constantly. I probably wouldn't book it again, but it serves the purpose if you just need a place to overnight in Montrose. The staff was nice.

If you are looking for a cheap stay in an expensive town. This one s the place but don’t expect much more than a hot shower and a bed. Room was pretty clean but had many issues. Cracks in walls and ceiling. Shower door leaks and sticks. It’s ok if you are passing through and need a cheap place to stay.

Staff was very nice, and rooms have a lot of space, it's just very worn and dated. Wifi didn't work at all -- major demerit for that, hard to plan next day without wifi. AC was also so old it didn't cool at all, so room was pretty hot. Shower and bathroom were fine (roomy again) and bed and pillows were clean and nice enough. Lamps didn't work because they hadn't been maintained and didn't want to touch carpet. Room rate was very good, but swear this place used to be nicer.

They were in the process of remodeling so I’m not sure how many of the issues I experienced were related to the process. My room had problem with the lights working intermittently and randomly turning off.
They had a very hard time finding my reservation from Expedia finally just giving me the room after seeing my email saying they would contact me if there were issues.

Great location and friendly staff but our room was not thoroughly cleaned. The cleaning staff was very friendly but they were not equipped with the right supplies to properly clean the room. For example the room had not been vaccumed and the cleaning staff did not have one with them.

Staff was friendly when they were there but we had an issue of our key card not working and an off duty staff member was the only person able to help us. If we didn't see them we would have been locked out of our room for at least an hour. Not great.

Was told there was breakfast at check in and coffee wasn’t available until almost 8am and there wasn’t anything for breakfast. Lobby relocated into a different building on site due to remodeling.
Hot breakfast was a sausage, egg, and cheese croissant, actually pretty good.
Room was huge, king bed was comfortable, and the jacuzzi tub was nice.

Never found the light switch for the bathroom vanity lighting. Room is very dated, tv is quite small, exterior stairs to 2nd floor.

If you want a relative bargain and want to walk a block down the street for pizza or McDonalds, it’s fine.

I like to stay at this motel. This time I brought a friend. Our initial room: non-functioning toilet, loud squeal if water left on and would not flush without water poured in (we used the trash cans). Garbage not taken out from prev use, dirty, needed light bulbs 3/8 bulbs. after one night we moved. the second room was better, but the building and lack of building security was still unsavory. The stop in the tub did not work.
We loved the staff, they were good people and easy to work with, and responsive to our needs. Thank you!

This was the worst hotel I've ever been to. The room had one light working. The bathroom had no lights and was to dark to brush your teeth. The TV didn't work, the fridge was missing legs in the back and was leaning.tub was clogged and some outlets were broken and exposing wires They also didn't work, the room smelled of mold and people were doing drugs all around. The custodian was smoking pot in the hall while cleaning the rooms. Absolutely terrible do not stay here.

They demanded a $50 damage deposit!! Lord knows if I ever see that as there was no toilet paper spindle, stained carpet and furniture and one light didn't work. ::( And no fan in bathroom, and while surfing channels the remote would quit after about 25 changes. Had to let it sit to surf more.

I stayed two nights rather than the one night I reserved…Maids didn’t make room up the second day…I called the front desk, and receptionist in broken English said they only clean rooms once a week…I tried to tell her I was not staying for a week..She didn’t understand…My room was in an added part of the facility very hard to park my car close to my room…I had to park in a restaurant parking lot…Room was old, not modern…Out of the 60’s….Not that I watch much Tv, but their were 3 remote controls…I gave up watching Tv…Just wanted to keep an eye on the Weather Channel…

Very nice stay - would recommend

The staff was very accommodating and friendly. When there was a mechanical issue with the door, they were apologetic and fixed the problem very quickly. The room was spacious and clean, and the beds were comfortable and clean. The back door to the courtyard was convenient for taking my dog out. The room was quiet and heat worked well. The price was also affordable and fair.

The hotel was cheap and clean, and staff were nice, but hotel is in need of total remodel. Bathroom was yucky. The 30 year old looking plastic shower enclosure and jacuzzi tub were very uniting so I skipped showering. one of the 2 exterior stairs were closed off due to a broken stair tread which made access to 2nd level in convenient and dangerous in case of emergency. I would never stay there again. Not worth the cheap price.

If you are into a strong disinfectant smell this is the place for you. Also be cognizant that you may reserve a room with your American Express card, and they will inform you that they do accept them your card will be declined. Rest assure your card isn't compromised. I believe that s their way of not accepting the card due to the merchant fees.

Dead bolt and chain added to door from parking lot for needed "added security", but entrance to interior hallway has no security. Hall rug filthy. Floors creak badly. Run down condition prevented restful sleep. "Free breakfast", but no common place to eat it and no buffet. Must "order" breakfast. Guy at front desk said we could eat it "anywhere we wanted, our room or even in the road.) Pictures online are misleading - except for the roll in shower that prompted us to pick this disaster. Would be willing to bet that many comments from other patrons are either phony or come from upgraded rooms.

Wouldn't stay in this room again even if THEY PAID ME $125/night rather than vice versa.

We’ve stayed at this hotel many times over the years. It’s definitely gone downhill. The room needed lots of repairs—the cabinet floor under the refrigerator was rotted and items would fall out when the door was opened because the fridge was falling through the cabinet. They were out of breakfast brown bags each morning we were there. Convenient location.

They are in the process of upgrading the property and it is looking very good. Our air conditioner wasn't working properly and theywere able to swap it out for a quieter one. Breakfasts were take and go and a good variety of options were offered. Will definitely stay here again.

This place looks worn and is dated, but it actually was a decent place for us to stay. The room was much bigger than expected with a couch in which there was plenty of walking space between it and the bed. The room came with a refrigerator and microwave.

My 23-year old nephew got a kick out of the phone/AM-FM radio, which he had never experienced first hand -- it's his era's reactions to these throwback items to the 70s/80s that make a person feel old. The hot tub and pool are out of commission, but the staff members are very pleasant.

I want to do a call out to the 2 morning receptionist personnel who helped me find the owner of a lost dog that was wandering in the hotel's parking lot.

Also highly recommend the Mexican restaurant that shares the same parking lot as the motel.
