The Quality Inn Hyde Park is a good option if you don't want to spend a ton of money at the Beekman Arms but also don't want to stay in one of the skeevy-looking motels in the area.

Though it could definitely use upgrades here and there (carpets, painting, etc), the front desk staff is very friendly and helpful, the room was affordable and clean, and the place was very quiet (we stayed on a Wednesday night).

There's free breakfast in the morning with coffee and juices, danish, cereals, yogurt, bagels and breads w/a toaster, a waffle-making station, and even some pre-made fried eggs (similar to what would be on an Egg McMuffin) and sausage. It was a pleasant surprise, since most hotel \"breakfasts\" are a crappy level of \"continental.\"

1. First floor room with sliding window pane that could not be locked closed. A dangerous negligence. Discovered it during the third day and I had to prop it closed during the last night there.
2. It snowed about 6 inches during my stay and about 22 of the TV channels of only about 30 total, didn’t work due to a satellite dish mounted on the roof where no access to clean it of snow could be done. This TV interruption lasted about 4 hours. This was during the weekend when football games were being televised. I had to go to a local bar to look at the games…spending money on drinks that I didn’t want to.
3. They didn’t bother removing snow from the walkways at the ends of the building until well after it stopped snowing and by then 6 inches of snow had accumulated on the walkways…. Also no spreading of salt either was done on the walkway. Real dangerous.
4. The plowing of the parking lot was also done well after the snow stopped…with 6 inches of snow already fallen.
5. The TV was difficult to operate…it didn’t want to shut off. You had to press two buttons on the remote to start and to shut it off. Weird. But shutting it off was consistently problematic.

Hotel was good for a one night stay. We booked a queen room, however the bed seemed to be a full size. The room was very small. No place to set your suitcase on to open it up, except on the bed. The employees were extremely nice. Breakfast was good. They did not have a big variety. But, what they had was good. There were eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, bagels, toast and yogurt. It was nice that they didn’t rush to put everything away at 10AM.

My stay was okay. Room was nothing special. There was a large cabinet in the room making a narrow passage way from the room to bathroom. A large person would have a difficult time getting through especially in an emergency. The room was clean and suitable for an overnight stay. I gave my credit card to hold the room; the card was charged 2 weeks prior to my stay. Never had that happen before.

The staff was amazingly good. It was very clean. My only complaint was the poor breakfast. I don’t mind a few selections. However the egg discs were sitting there forever and not good at all and the sausage was partially good but some were old and hatd sausage that you couldn’t even bite into. I’m not a fussy eater, but those two things were so poor …no complaints on the rest.

This place was a welfare dump. The hallway smelled of marijuana and the long term residences didn’t stop during our 3 night stay. We told the hotel staff 3 times they seemed responsive but the smell continued. They also didn’t vacuum the hallway daily and the carpet was not pulled tight. Several people were smoking very near the exit doorways- we felt unsafe most of the time there- don’t stay here!! No credit or compensation was offered, I cannot say enough stay away! The air conditioning was poor but there was ample hot water

The breakfast area was much smaller, cramped and darker than the online picture showed. That was true for the room we were in as well. Yes, the Roosevelt Home was very close by.
My husband was told that he could not have his service dog in the breakfast room. The next day a clerk followed me out the door as I was taking the dog for a walk and told me the dog could not be staying there, but was later corrected by his boss who was on the phone.
The rooms were not ready when we arrived just before 3:00, and we wanted to get to the Roosevelt home as soon as we could because we were worried about a government shut down the following day. The clerk could not even get into the computer because her password had expired. The property does not seem to be very well managed.

I have made several phone calls and emails to the GM concerning the multiple issues that I had during my stay in early August. I even made phone calls to QI corporate offices but they directed me back to the Hyde Park hotel. Nothing was resolved and I am completely disappointed in everything that this inn had to offer. Will NEVER stay at another Quality Inn...and I do a lot of traveling. Same on them!!!!
