Our reservation was cancelled less than 24 hours before our stay. Had to sleep in our car. Red roof inn had overbooked so they cancelled all 3rd party reservations.
We'll never book a stay there again. Not a smart business move.

Awful experience- this might be a hotel where they do human trafficking, the mirror might have been a two way mirror that faced the bathroom, the bathroom door was broken and they had to get tools to get my sister out of the bathroom, there were bed bugs, blood stained sheets, dirty floors and furniture. People were doing drugs in the parking lot. And I haven’t received my refund they promised me.

Upon arrival, the staff was very polite. When going into the room, bathroom toilet was clogged and backed up. The hotel is supposed to be nonsmoking facility with nonsmoking rooms. All throughout the hallways you smell smoke. Couldn't really get any sleep due to music blasting right next to me. Hesitant about coming back but this hotel is affordable

This property is absolutely filthy and in horrible disrepair. The fact that we prepaid almost 1000.00 for 3 nights in an absolute dump is despicable. Shame on Expedia for even listing this property. We walked in and the room smelled disgusting. The floor had not been cleaned, the accent chair was filthy and had sticks and leaves on it. The furniture is falling apart and the desk chair had holes in it. There were no other rooms available for us to even move to. We had to go to the store to buy cleaning supplies to. Lean the counters , bedside table, bathroom and anything else touchable. Do yourself a favor and scroll right past this listing. I’m reporting this hotel to the health department and I’ll never use Expedia again.

Not sure what is going on at this property. There was a a room that a case worker is set up full time. I asked the person at the desk and he mentioned they are running a shelter out of the first floor. Would not recommend. Paid a premium price and never really felt comfortable at this hotel.

It was parents' weekend and the property was charging near nearly 4x the nightly price. In the room, there was basic cleanliness -- sheets, surfaces, etc. But there was wear on walls and toilet, and the floors felt grimy and the smell of disinfectant was strong. There was a social worker who had a permanent office on our floor (weird), and the parking lot seemed unsafe for our car. Overall, a cheap place, which would have been ok for $70/night but not $266. Price gouging, not quite safe feeling -- overall \"yechh.\" Made me want to avoid the chain entirely.

My girlfriend and I booked a room just for a place to sleep at 7 PM. We went to bed at 11 and from 11 PM to 5 AM. The people above us bang and stomped their feet all night. I don’t know if they’re having a party or what was going on I called the front desk four times and on the fourth time at 3:30 in the morning The night manager had the nerve to tell me first that they were sleeping secondly, that there was nobody in that room at all the place was disgusting and filthy. I had security guards all over the place. I wonder why there was a stab hole in the ceiling. It was absolutely the worst day at any hotel I’ve ever been to in my entire life and I’ve traveled the world they really need help. I would never recommend this place to anybody. I’m hoping after they see this I get a refund because I spent like $300 for not even a night of sleep. Expedia should no longer put this hotel on their website.

When arriving at property there were a number of people hanging around outside with a strong smell of weed. Gentleman behind counter was very nice, but I believe they assist relocating homeless. They had case workers on site and a number of people they were relocating. Walls are very thin. We had to have sheets and towels replaced before use due to stains. We had spider webs and a couple live bugs in room. Towels, tissues, and toilet paper supply VERY limited.

When we arrived the outside and parking lot had old, broken outdoor furniture and trash in parking lot. There were many people standing around and hanging out in cars. It appeared very unkempt and unsafe.
When we went into lobby there were 2 to 3 people who were administering a migrant program. The man who was to check us in was behind a glass partition area in the corner. It appeared that having guests at the hotel was a secondary business in the building. My husband and I felt the situation looked too unsafe to stay the night and left. I have used Hotels.com and have stayed at Red Roof Inn, multiple times. It is clear after this experience that the quality controls for selecting hotels is not in place. I will not use your services again

Never stayed, walked in so called lobby was a lady checking in migrants and I don’t have a problem with housing the migrants.How ever the security guard sitting in his chair falling a sleep was not comforting and it was filthy. Don’t know why but but checked in to see room. Opened door to 102 to see cockroaches scattering everywhere. The floors are all buckled. Closed the door and never went in. This hotel is horrible.

The Red Roof Plus Inn is either homeless or DSS housing split with some Motel rooms. Guards at the front door with, what I would guess is, a DSS social worker. Other guards in the hallways. This is not a motel anymore

One night

I needed a place to get some much needed rest and a hot shower. I was thankful that they allowed me to bring my dog in this emergency situation. I was without air electricity in my new apartment and it wouldn't be turned on 'till the following day. However, I was a little uncomfortable with the young people loidering in the parking lot smoking something. Also there was trash bins overflowing on the side of the building and trash thrown all over the parking area.

The hallways smelled soo bad made me nauseous. Had to get a new key was locked out on second night. Also the door did not full close on its own had to pull close. Saw a huge roach like bug crawling behind tv stand. Very out dated for a PLUS+. Outside the hotel the smell of garbage was also so bad, probably cause there dumper area looked like it was right by the main entrance, talk about bad location. WAY too expensive for the quality of stay was not worth it, ive stayed and cheaper ones before and they were updated. But the smells were just unbareable.

I don’t like to complain. But, this was so bad, my son and I contemplated sleeping in the car or just driving the 3 hours home. It was just supposed to be a place to crash, but next time I’ll spend the extra $$ on a better place. There were random people lingering around the property. The front desk kept telling me NOT TO SMOKE. As soon as I got to the room, it reeked of smoke. Everything was sketchy, we didn’t want to touch anything. Never again. Spend the extra $$ to feel safe and have a clean room.

The place was very dirty from the inside and outside. It was one of the worst hotel stays i have ever had. The ceiling was dirty and looked like it needed repairs from previous leaks, the bathroom had dirty walls, everything felt so dirty. There was also a roach in our room. I am not usually the type to complain or leave bad reviews but this was just so awful and i wouldnt recommend it to anyone. The staff was great enough to change our room but the conditions werent any better.

The rooms were filthy and you could see back mold in the bathroom. The bathroom door lock had obviously been broken at some point and badly repaired. It was extremely difficult to open the bathroom door. Besides being annoying, this is a fire hazard. Everyday our keys were somehow reset and we needed to get them reprogrammed. The bed covers and carpet were stained. I rented several rooms for my family and my brother and his wife checked out after one night. Their front door had obviously been kicked in at some point and badly repaired. The headboard in the room next door kept hitting their one wall all night from what sounded like a group of people having sex. There is no elevator so you must drag your luggage upstairs with no help from the staff. Most of the front desk staff were rude and unhelpful. This hotel is used by NYC to house immigrants there is a security guard sitting at every door. You can only enter through the front door. If you attempted to walk in the door from the parking lot, security would not let you in and ignored you. I cannot in good conscience recommend this hotel because of its poor condition and very real security issues. My family will not stay there again.

No parking with signs to be towed away not 20 feet from front door. A man seated at front desk area did not help but sat at a desk facing the entrance and said i don’t know when i asked him where the desk staff was

(1) The desk attendant was fine.
(2) The maid service was annoying. I never had previously experienced a maid service banging on my door exactly at check out time -- and then after my saying I was on my way out in a few minutes -- another coming by and doing exactly the same thing. It seemed unsettling and disturbing. I would anticipate there being at least a 15 minute grace period for guest check-out built in by the hotel management.
(3) There was not an elevator. This really was a surprise. It may have been an issue if my bags had been heavier (or I did not have good strength), as well as my having a recent leg problem that -- thankfully -- was nearly resolved. I am uncertain if the info about stairway access only to guestrooms was noted on the website anywhere -- but upon my booking the room there was nothing obvious.
(4) I appreciated that there was decent coffee available to make in the room; tho' it would have been an improvement if there had been a small personal pack of biscuit cookies or something as well, particularly given there was no breakfast available on-site.

Very sketchy people hanging around in the parking lot and lots of strange things going on in open hotel rooms near the office. I stay in a lot of hotels - this one was very sketchy and I felt very odd being there. I grabbed a few hours of much needed sleep and then left. I will not return to that hotel

If you ever want to know what it is like to stay in a motel in skid row, then come here for the experience. Sticky floors, stinky rooms which have lingering smells on your clothes after you leave, people smoking outside at all entrances, people randomly knocking on your door at all hours, empty shopping carts outside, and shifty people who are high as a kite, and all for the lovely high price of US$150.

When we first walked in, the hotel looked like a dive. The carpets were well-worn and dirty looking and there was that distinctive smell of 1970s-hotel room spray that never could cover up the smell of cigarette smoke. Our room was smoke-free, mostly updated, had a functional desk setup, good-sized mini fridge, and seemed clean. We had to return to the front desk twice to get the magnetic strip on the room keys to work. The fan couldn't drive out the sound of the people next door. It seemed like people were living there long-term. Front parking lot had dangerous hole only partly covered by plywood.

Room was clean. No bed bug issues here, staff is friendly. Only complaint is that the rooms had hardwood floors. So the resident above me (people lived there full time) was stomping loud in the middle of the night like at 1 and 2 am. I stayed here because it was on the same side of rhe bridge as Dutchess Stadium where the Renegades play. It beats crossing the Beacon Bridge 4 times in 2 days and staying in Newburgh.

My only suggestion is put carpet in the rooms. It will be more quiet. But atleast it is clean.

This hotel should not be franchised! It took 3 rooms to get one that was not destroyed or smelled like marijuana. The room we ended up with had a broken lock, broken towel rack and chair. Front desk staff couldn’t tell me where nearby food was and they didn’t have any takeout menus of local restaurants. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve had in 30 years.

Room heater did not work well. In upstate New York. In January. Turned it up all the way and it blew cool. Room went from 65 degrees to 71 by the time we woke up- probably due more to body heat. Toilet filled very slowly, so could only flush once per 15 or 20 minutes. Holes in walls. Stained sheets. Broken lamp. Noise from other guests playing music until after 1:30AM. Noise from guests walking upstairs. Towels were very thin.

Better than sleeping in the car in January, but not by a lot.
