I booked one of the most expensive rooms, the room was awful only positive it was big the moldy smell from cabinets bathtub cracked covered with wood and painted with wall paint shower head awful pool towels old and broken lots of trash deposit near the hotel , room full of mosquitos and not Insulated also has a unlocked door to a room next to your room no privacy or safety ,traffic noise kept me awake along with mosquito bites the only decent thing about this place is the pool but since they allow smoking there it's not enjoyable if you are a non smoker stay away from this place it's priced as a high end hotel but worst than a cheap motel or hostel...

A great stay here for three nights in Bangkok! The street itself has lots going on without it being noisy. Lots of street food/food options within touching distance, as well as a couple of laundrettes. I also felt very safe as a solo female traveller.

The staff are so helpful, polite and happy!

it looked better on pictures than in person.. the room had a smell and slight roach nothing to run away.. the hotel location is in the back of the boonies, but you can walk 7 min to the foood strip..the pool roof is 3 feet the seating area was better than the pool . the workers were amazing i loved them they treat you reall good makes you not want to go home and talk all day

This is the ideal place to stay in Bangrak. Easy walk to BTS, plenty of food qnd coffee options in the area, including late-night dining. Rooftop pool , which was renovated just a few years ago is great, with ideal view of the area. Staff is attentive and always welcoming. Perfect place!

This is a really good budget hotel. You get exactly what you pay for. If you want something luxurious then this isn’t the hotel for you. The staff were really friendly though, the location is good, nice rooftop pool and bar. It’s just a bit tired. But for the price, really good.

My room was nothing like the pictures on hotels.com. They must've showed the remodeled ones. Mine was definitely not remodeled.. Also, when I booked online it said my room had a king-sized bed. It was NOT a king-sized bed. When I called the front desk to let them know, the lady, while a nice women, put me on hold - likely to see what management wanted her to say to me - and returned to conversation to say, \"That's our king-sized.\"... What!?!... There's no such thing as \"our\" king-sized! There's only king-sized!!... So, while the staff was Thai-friendly, I just can't dig the whole lying thing... \"Our king-sized.\"... What the heck?!... Never lie, Grand Sathorn Hotel! TERRIBLE for business!

Great location. SAFE. Down the alley from everything we needed. Across the alley from a bakery and a 4 star restaurant. Not a chain hotel. Definite SE Asian atmosphere. Extremely clean. Only fault we found was an awkward shower set up with low water pressure. Fabulous roof top pool. Sraff was very helpful, although they struggled with the English language. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice little hotel for a really good price

It's a small clean hotel in Bangrak, close to food, the Sangri-La, the BTS and other amenities. The surroundings are not pretty, but it feels safe. Keep in mind taxi drivers might act as they don't know the place, make sure you bring a card with the details of the hotel with you. Breakfast was good and varied. Room was spacious and comfortable.

Loved the location near the river. BTS station within 4min walk, same with the pier from which you can take the boats across the river as well as lots of sites. Staff are very friendly. The bathroom needs updating, though, and the swimming pool and gym are tiny. But for me personally, location in a city like Bangkok is the most important.

The pictures of this hotel are overly exaggerated. The “fitness center” consists of a treadmill that needed to be turned on, an old bike, a few weights, and an elliptical. The door is open so there is no air conditioning. The rooms are tired and worn down. I called the front desk for an in the room Thai massage. They said it would be ready in 1 hr. TWO hours later, no one showed up. I walked to the front desk, and the lady was unapologetic.

Terrible location, back alley location. Small lobby, rooms were unkempt, mattresses hard like sleeping on the floor. Restaurant on roof top, small, food mediocre at best. Had booked for two nights, checked out to another hotel after first night. No refund offered for second night booked. Would not recommend this hotel.

Good location for BTS about 5/10 minutes walk. Plenty nice little local restaurants and cafes nearby that a reasonably priced.
Some areas of the hotel look a little tired but it was clean and comfortable. Staff were always polite, friendly and nothing less than helpful. Cannot praise them enough.
If your getting a taxi, make sure you have a map to help the driver, or allow more time if you're going to airport.. 2/3 taxis could not find it! The hotel did offer a taxi top airport but unless you're in a group and sharing the cost its too expensive.

Perfect hotel in a convenient location

Location is great, very close to boat and tram stations where you can get to anywhere using public transport. There is a shopping centre nearby where you can get great breakfast quite cheap (you have to go down some stairs next the the mcdonals. Not many good options for dinning nearby though. The swimming pool in the top floor is great and is perfect to relax after a long day walking. The room is huge and they provide with everything that is expected from a 4 start hotel.

The staff were very friendly, and very helpful. The room was a nice size and spotless. Everything worked well with no problems.

Food was tasty, and nicely presented. Breakfasts were a great start to a day out. The swimming pool was my grandsons favorite place after a day out.

A good experience and will likely book again next time I come to Bangkok.

Our room was clean and had all the facilities listed. Is dated but that has no bearing on our comfort level. Aircon worked well but is perhaps a little noisy, overcome with ear plugs.
Love the roof top pool and bar, could stay all day. Great location to BTS, local eats on the Soi leading down to a Robinson dept store and the Bangrak market then River. Have stayed before and will stay again!

The location is good, with excellent access to transportation links. The room and hotel overall wasn't quite what the pictures presented, but it wasn't too bad. The problem was the bugs that kept showing up in the middle of the night. I think you can find better value elsewhere.

Good deal for Bangkok

Large room, nice buffet breakfast, pleasant pool (but 1,2m deep) on the roof. Mini-gym. Very clean. Close to two skytrai stations, and a 5Mun walk to the pier. Lots of eateries nearby. Not always easy to get a cab. Excellent staff, and they have been the best part of the hotel for us. We will go back.

Not so Grande rather little

The Hotel is completely unsuitable for a business traveller, there Internet / wifi service did not work at all and the staff was unable to fix it, I had to go to a nearby coffeshop and spend hours there to get e mails and data don. The first room they gave me was dirty, broken toilet and bathroom in run down condition. Change rooms and got a nice size thanks to the friendly staff, but doors and walls so thin you every word from the other rooms and the door lock is just a round push button type with metal key easy to forget to lock, so not even basic safety.. Breakfeast was unedible.. but if you are 25 and coming to party and get trashed in the nightlifed so you pass out drunk you wont notice any of all that anyway..

We've spent our last day in Grand Sathorn Hotel and it was a good choice. Good location and we love the pool what is open until 11p.m. The room is ok, but bathroom is so used. The shower head fell apart in my hands and the water temperature was difficult to control. Overall is ok.

The hotel is located in a run down neighborhood, but then, all of Bangkok is run down.
The interior is much nicer than the exterior and the employees are great. Very polite, helpful and sympathetic. Rooftop pool is small but adequate for an afternoon away from the street level pollution and dirt. AC works, but difficult to regulate.Big rooms.
Fantastic international restaurant Mazzena is 5 mins walking distance. Do not eat anywhere else.Skytrain also 5 mins. walking

Fantastic front desk staff and a great location. The rooms and communal areas are very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The only negative was that the bathroom was a little tired and the water pressure from the shower wasn't great.

Great room - king bed, quiet and very spacious. Pretty good area - very close to the Sathorn pier where you can ride the ferries and hop-on-hop-off river cruises. Some areas are expensive for food/drink. 50 baht ride to Patpong market.

Only down side was the internet access which wasn't stable during my stay as i was there for a business meeting trip. Overall is above average. Will stay again to rate better

Great Value for Money

Stayed for 2 days while in Bangkok. The Hotel location is very very close to the river taxi for exploring Bangkok by train - but also very close to the Sky Train for going anywhere around Bangkok. The rooms are unbelievably big for the price. There is also a mall 3 min from the hotel where foreigners can buy all their needs especially if just arriving in Thailand (i.e. sim cards etc)

Good hotel, fantastic location

This hotel doesn't look like much from the outside, but we were pleasantly surprised by it. Our room was absolutely massive with a very comfortable king bed and was always spotlessly clean. Breakfast was decent, although quite a limited selection by comparison to other places we stayed in Thailand.
The rooftop pool was a perfect escape after a busy day in Bangkok and was open late into the evening so you could even go for a swim after dinner if you wanted. There was also a small gym up there, although I couldn't imagine using it in the heat.
The location of the hotel is brilliant, as it is close to both the skytrain station and the Sathorn pier, both of which are very convenient ways to get around Bangkok. There are several excellent bars and restaurants within walking distance as well.

Nice hotel tucked away south of Bangkok proper

It is a good hotel if you are looking for an average cost and accommodation hotel. The pool on the roof top is ideal. The staff was very helpful. If you get a taxi, make sure you ask for a metered taxi, as most places in Thailand, otherwise you may end up getting a ride in an employee's friend's car for a more expensive price. The breakfast is a respectful continental breakfast.

Das Hotel Grand Sathorn ist ein sehr gutes Hotel mit freundlichem und hilfsbereitem Personal. Die Lage des Hotels, mitten im lebhaften Stadtzentrum, nahe dem Fluss und nur wenige Minuten zu Fuß von einer U-Bahnstation entfernt, ist sehr praktisch. Die Zimmer sind funktional, relativ geräumig und sauber. Das Frühstück ist gut und typisch thailändisch, aber es gibt genügend Abwechslung im Buffet für diejenigen, die andere Geschmäcker bevorzugen. Beim nächsten Mal werde ich definitiv wieder hier übernachten.

The Grand Sathorn Hotel is a great establishment with friendly and helpful staff. Its location, right in the heart of the vibrant city, close to the river and just a few minutes' walk from a metro station, is highly convenient. The rooms are practical, relatively spacious, and clean. The breakfast is good and typically Thai, but there’s plenty of variety on the buffet for those seeking other tastes. I will definitely return here next time.
