Don't want to give even 1 Star.
Allocated room was not clean, got a new room which was pretty much the same. Windows were disgusting with 90% covered with limescale or something, wobbly taps, then the AC wasn’t working. I had to stay up till around midnight till the maintenance guy fixed it. To top it off, at breakfast, just one guy in the egg station catering to a restaurant full of people. The guy was slower than sloth bear. To summarize, WILL NEVER EVER STAY HERE again.

The breakfast buffet was good quality with a good mixture of local and western foods. Eggs cooked to order was a huge plus too.

The rooftop pool and restaurant were lovely in the evening when the sun was setting. I ate here twice and the quality was great and staff very friendly

This hotel is beer centrally located - the drive to the airport was average 20 mins; the Suria shopping mall is a 3-5 min walk and the boat docking port to the islands (gaya island; Sapi island etc) is also 5 mins walk.
The staff were always really nice and smiling. The breakfast was definitely fresh and varied.
I would recommend staying here and booking the sea view room.

The hotel is very close to the mall and the harbour. We booked it mainly because we needed to take a dive course, and the price was a great deal. Breakfast was okay, and it was also conveniently close to all the restaurants we wanted to visit.

The location is great—very close to Jesselton Harbor. We booked the OWD course, so it was super convenient for us—only a 3‑minute walk. There’s also a big shopping mall nearby, plus it’s easy to find the durian street, fruit market, and seafood market. The hotel price is quite cheap, and it’s clean enough. It could be a bit better, but overall, it’s all good.

We were given a room looking out to the sea; great view. Once the vacant lot between the hotel and the sea is constructed, the view of the sea will be blocked. Bed is comfortable. Service is good.
What pulled down the score is the hotel conditions. There are stains along the edging of the shower screens and walls. The bathroom grout is clean. There are moldy spots in the tiles of the swimming pool grout at the water level.

Nice enough hotel.
My wife has diabetic medication that needs to keep cool so we like to use freeze packs as we travel to keep the meds cold. The rooms don’t have a freezer and the hotel would not freeze the packs for us. Every other hotel in Borneo was willing to do this for us.
Security guard out the front (Aidi) was very helpful and organised a taxi to get us to the airport when our Grab failed to pick us up. We are very greatful to him for ensuring we made it to the airport in time.
Sister in law left her phone at the hotel and the staff kept it safe until we returned to pick it up a few days later. Again we were very grateful however I was a little surprised they didn’t contact us when they found it originally. We didn’t contact them for a few days after we realized where we had left it.

Hotel is conveniently situated in the city centre. A short walk to the harbour and markets, restaurants, and a shopping mall. Rooms are spacious and has everything a traveller might need. As with most hotels in Malaysia, it needs some housekeeping attention and maintenance.

Bed was comfy, room seemed abit dated for a new hotel. Hinges of the shower were creaking and lots of dirt under the sink.

Hotel had terrible access road as we were driving, and parking was not available and had to park at govt issued parking on the road side.

A car next to us had its window smashed in one morning, and I guess that shows the lack of safety without own compound.

The hotel is located in a busy area with lots of dining options. It's steps away from the ferry port which takes you to the surrounding islands. I found the staff less helpful compared to other SE Asian countries, things like not helping with booking tours. Little things like not greeting you when you walk by the front desk, but that really was not an issue, just a noticeable difference from other places. Overall, the hotel is good and i would recommend a stay here.

1. Requested adjoining room was totally ignored (not communicate to from agent to premises). Instead two rooms next to each other was provided with twin beds (not as selected choice earlier)
2. Shower hose was broken for both rooms upon check in.
3. Toilet bowl blocked on 1st day check in.
4. The floor was not vacuum cleanly during house keeping, still found food debris on the floor from previous guest.
5. Cloth hangers are not in good condition.
6. Room is small and no privacy for toilet and bathroom.

Was our first time to Kota Kinabalu and the room we were given was dissappointing as I specifically picked this location to have a sea view, might have been my fault for not reading the rooms correctly but the hotel didnt seem busy so we could have been moved but we were not. The foyer was welcoming but once up onto the floors the presentation here is in need of a refurbishment. Rooms not very sound proof and door do not soft close so the comings and goings of others was very loud at all hours. Pool area was the best view and staff their were extremely friendly and helpful. Would stay again but would make sure to get a better room.

Other reviews are accurate...very run down. Is not 4 star. Windows didnt open and were filthy but as i looked out over a void into eindows about 3m away, jstvas well! First room and corridor stank of cigarette smoke in a non smoking hotel. Eventually got a new room but staff not at all concerned and didnt believe me as 'no smoking in hotel'! Italian wasnt open. Breakfast not great especially for veggies/vegans. Good they have water filtervtaps and toiletry regills...not so mych the drntal kurs though. Worst thing...no soundproofing. Can hear everything in next room and was woken up by the sound of coughing. Pool was pleasant but rooftop restaurant dreadful.

I'm disappointed that your service and facilities are below par. Firstly your curtain is not well maintained and upkeep is bad with torn on it ( please refer to photo). Secondly your hotel is not providing the basic in room coffee and tea bag, While I request from the front desk he replies the coffee is \"By request only\" Wow I thought it must be a luxury or hi quality of coffee. It makes me speechless when the housekeeper sends me the unknown brand instant coffee and I am doubtful about consuming it. Thirdly while I planning walk to nearby convenience store it was raining dog and cat I'm request umbrella from the concierge, he told me that hotel not providing umbrella, it make me feel the unpleasure to staying your hotel for the next visit. However I hope you can improve on what I've commented.

The hotel is sitting right at the heart of the city and the surroundings are quite buzzing. In terms of location we are good.
The check-in experience was good and smooth.
Nevertheless, the breaker is the hotel cleanliness. To say the least, it was filthy. I can understand that in post-covid situation with the Sabah borders just opening to domestic travellers all businesses have been disrupted and that hospitality has been hit the harder.
Though, I can't conceive that a hotel operating under the Accor brand can tolerate such a level of filthiness. Carpets were not vacuumed anywhere in the hotel, surfaces in the room were not wiped, the sofa turned from grey to black.
I usually don't report complaints on this platform but that time it was really over board.
Some representative at Accor might want to have a look at this hotel....

This hotel has the most amazing pool on the 25th floor looking out over the sea and a great pool restaurant. The morning breakfasts were great egg station fantastic.the only slight gripe was that the room change left a little bit of need for better service. Location was good hotel was ok poorly maintained for a Mercure chain hotel, as I would expect in Malaysia lack of hot water power cuts fuses tripping ... changed room to other issues ☹️. Extremely poor management ... billing system was extremely poor wasted hours working with senior management to resolve incorrect billing ... very frustrating stressful hotel to stay at ruined a good holiday, have travelled the world and never had this many issues with a hotel !!!
Management at hotel were not helpful in any way some staff door men cleaners bar staff were great but are let down by poor management, no help with trips sight seeing etc .... a 1 star hotel at best ☹️

Cleanliness wasnt up to par to the standard and rating of the hotel. Room service provided, didnt provide a change of towels, water glass wasnt washed, toilet wasnt clean. When I came back to the room and discover, i tried calling receptionist, operator and also housekeeping - there seem to be none picking up the call. Very upsetting to receive such service. The hotel staff after that did, apologize and wanted to do housekeeping but it was too late at night already.

Disappointing 3 nights stay, first experiencing a carpark maintenance in their hotel on our 1st day and a breakdown of their mechanical carpark system on our last day. No solution was given by the front desk and we can only hope that our car will be out of the mechanical carpark system before our flight takes off. I will not suggest guest to use their carpark as they don't have the capability to manage it. Park at your own risk if you are driving.
Design of the hotel room bathroom is bad, walls are thin and doors are slamming hard even with a door enclosure.
I have stayed in Accor group hotels before and this is definitely not a 4 star hotel standard, customer service is disappointing. I would rather spend my money elsewhere.

The hotel is located not far from airport, nearby malls and very close to the city jetty; hence, very convenient. Our family room was quite spacious and clean, beds comfortable; the terrace restaurant and pool is a very pleasant place to lunch / dinner; overall, all as expected or more, actually. We did have only minor issues with the magnetic key and hot water; nevertheless, the staff was always kind to respond and prompt to put things in order. Would not hesitate to choose again.

Great room with great facilities, amenities and friendly staff.. I got a sea view room so the beautiful Borneo sea and Jesselton Point was right across along with other tall nice buildings. With the price I paid for, the service was just too good and can't complain much. Thanks for the lovely service and hopefully shall return to Borneo some time soon. I noted previous guest review regarding tiny toilet and shower cubicles without concrete wall to separate from bedroom! I found the shower cubicle does not have hooks to hang towels and clothes. After showering, guest can only towel dry and put on clothes outside shower cubicle that embarrassed room mate to see the guest in nude! Reception staff advised suite room with bathroom door suits me better. Front office supervisor and staff Asmawi and Sham are considerate and flexible to grant late checkout as my flight is 4pm. Will come back to stay if bathroom door issue is fixed.

Loved our stay!

The staff were very welcoming and accommodating at the hotel. Everyone we interacted with were very friendly. The reception area was nicely decorated however the room floors were slightly dated looking. The rooftop swimming pool was beautiful though it possibly needs more sun loungers. The breakfast was delicious, it would be helpful if the food was labelled for vegetarians and food allergies. The bedroom was a good size however the bathroom layout was a bit strange, there needs to be proper full length doors separating the toilet from the bedroom.

Every time i shower, the whole place gets wet, including floor towel and basin etc. The bathroom is large but only the way it was designed is not practical. Air conditioning is very good.

I was given room number 810. The room size is worst than any budget hotel and the shower is incredible small in size. Never in my life stay at a 4 star hotel that is worst than a budget hotel. No window, very very tiny room, surrounding inside toilet have stain that not properly clean.

Not made to feel very welcome by staff. Despite the hotel only being 2 years old, upkeep has not bee good. Daily cleaning was not thorough and swimming pool was extremely dirty - my poor husband contracted a fungal ear infection from there! We also informed the hotel that we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and it doesn’t cost anything to provide a few celebratory words in return - such small steps such as this make people feel welcome. The hotel also celebrated it’s 2nd birthday while we were there and customers were very much inconvinienced by the event and also excluded! Nevertheless, the location being so close to the jetty and in the city centre is good - such wish that Service was better and more welcoming.

Pros: Accommodated family of 5 very comfortably; stayed in large 3-roomed family suite. Price on Expedia very reasonable, suite very spacious with sea views. Very clean, cleaned daily, staff very attentive and friendly. Bottles of mineral water provided (x6) and replenished daily. Located very centrally within city. Parking limited but available for a charge. Good views from pool; well equipped gym. Excellent breakfast, good variety and quality.

Cons: One of the rooms had a strong sewerage stench; staff alerted, problem investigated and resolved quickly. Same room also had some ants on the wall and table. Pool quite small.

Very Noisy Property. We stayed for two nights and we could hear everything our next door neighbor was doing. Unfortunately for us, our neighbors were extra noisy and liked to stay up late talking and also liked to get up bright and early in the morning with an alarming going off for 20 mins whilst they were in the shower! If it wasn't for the paper thin walls we would have been very happy here.
