The night we checked in, the woman on duty soent the whole time on the phone, never smiled and left it to him to check us in. Yet he kept asking her? He took 40 RM hotel tax (10 a night) in CASH. I asked for a Receipt, never got one, afain he asked her, she would not help.
Room was very hot and humid, nobody had cooled the room down even though I clearly advised our arrival time.

ALL ELSE was Very Good, everybody lovely staff, great location, hotel has chalm and all staff always wanted to help (except tge second time I saw the same woman, again she refused to smile 😃.

So overall very happy apart from arrival etc. Hotel probably needs some care as built in 1963.

Great location in KK

The hotel is perfectly located in Central KK, within walking distance of almost everything. All off the staff were outstanding! Very friendly, well trained and accommodating. My only small complaint would be the internet which was in and out. Frustrating. It’s possible that was due to us being in a corner room. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this hotel and am hopeful rato visit again.

Clean hotel with friendly staffs

The room is clean and the staffs are very friendly and helpful. In the hotel, you may find a lot of pictures for the town history. The only problem you might have is parking. They don't have their own parking lot, so you need to park at the public parking lot right in front of the hotel and you need to use the council parking coupon for the normal hour.

This nice hotel is, as the name indicates, located on 63 Jalan Gaya, in what may be called the Chinatown of Kota Kinabalu - locally known as KK. Entering the elevator one also gets the impression that the building is from 1963. A view of 1963 KK is covering the walls of the elevator and it’s interesting to see how much the city has changed during those years. Covering the walls of the rooms, the corridors, and the lobby are also vintage pictures of times long gone, of a town once known as Jesselton during the rule of the North Borneo Chartered Company.
The staff at this hotel is very friendly and helpful. They were able to meet all our fussy requirements, like providing new, clean pillow cases, change an old mattress and help us to log in to the WiFi when my iPhone was uncooperative. The rooms are spacious, there are hardly any noise.
The hotel doesn’t provide breakfast, but there is a cheap eatery next door where you can have Asian breakfast as well as toast and coffee.

Overall a good hotel to recommend.

I asked for rooms near the lifts, and obliged. Thank you very much. The room was very and spacious, we loved it.
However the hotel is uptown so going to Gaya takes some walking like 7 to 9 minutes.

Hotel Sixty3 exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff was very responsive to all of our questions leading up to check in. Even with a late check in, it was very easy getting to our room right away. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom was spacious and clean. Sixty3 was very close to lots of restaurants and tourist services. Anyone looking for a convenient and affordable place to stay in Kota Kinabalu should look no further. Highly recommended!

Nice and spacious rooms, very well located near the Jetty to go to nearby islands (and a large shopping mall). A lot of staff at reception, but poor level of service when needed - not a big deal, just need to be patient. Would still highly recommend as great value for money!

It might be the best in town

The room is clean and relatively new. It is also large. Actually it was better than photos on Expedia.
The location is also great - on Gaya St. near famous Bak Kut Teh restaurant and other famous restaurants.
At last, the price was reasonable. The best cost performance:)

Best shower in 4 months on the road in SE Asia! Spacious room with 2 queen beds for family. Loved the attention this hotel paid to its history, lots of black & white photos of KK from around the time of the hotel construction in 1963.
Room could use some TLC for worn carpet in places, chips out of furniture but not a problem. Could walk everywhere and appreciated the loan of umbrellas one rainy morning!

Undisputed having the best location! Rooms were relatively quite big yet clean and comfortable. Location is near to a Suria Sabah (a shopping mall), popular eateries and sea. One let down though was the parking where there weren't any designated hotel parkings, you gotta park like any others on the street. Slightly inconvenient and annoying.

Had a good stay here. Good size clean room & huge double bed. Plenty space for luggage. Equipped with hair dryer, TV, safe, tea/coffee making facilities, bottled water etc. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Can't say too much about the location as we only stopped over on way back from sandakan, but hotel was close to lots of restaurants & shopping malls. The waterfront bars were within walking distance too. Would recommend.

However staff unusually for this country, were on 3 occasions in 24 hours, unhelpful and unwilling to put themselves out and actually lied. First day, upon check-in our room was upgraded to a suite on 3rd Floor. We had a quiet and peaceful sleep. After we came back to KK from Ranau our room was also upgraded to a suite on 1st Floor and renovations were in progress right outside our room. Traffic and voices of people outside of the hotel could be heard in our bedroom but later in the night it was quiet.

-there's a tourism information office in front of the hotel!
-nice spacious clean comfortable room with two beds which is suitable for 2 adults and 3 year old and a baby

Nice place, it is close to the places you want to walk to in KK. And the Sunday market is just outside the door-- people are friendly. The rooms are big and clean. The internet worked pretty good about 85% of the time. There are a couple places to eat near by-- all in all a nice hotel.

Small boutique hotel in the centre of KK city

Great hotel in the middle of KK city. It has no restaurant but there are numerous food outlets selling local and international food in the vicinity of the hotel. The hotel is clean and quiet and the large family deluxe room had everything we needed with good wifi and a fantastic bathroom with a rain shower. Staff were helpful and efficient. We stayed twice during our 8 night stay in Sabah and in between our two stays we stored our larger bags in the hotel.

The counter is always willing to answer our questions. They are friendly and polite. Good location. There are a lot of restaurants and shopping mall around there. The room service start at 10am everyday. The hotel is quite silent and I live on the 3rd floor. You can keep your luggage before check-in or after check-out with no charges. Really to say weakness is that there are no breakfast, but I think it doesn't matter for us..

Wifi is stable. It is sufficient but not fast. We were staying in Execute suite which is nice and big. We do not expected that it was located on the first floor. Though it is not loud from the street, we couldn't enjoy any views from the room. The Jacuzzi is comfy. There is no restaurant in the hotel. And the lobby is kind of old.

All good except housekeeping needs improvement

Stayed for 5D/4N in early July 2015, room was only cleaned once on the 2nd day. On the other days, no cleaning was done despite putting up the \"Tidy Up\" sign on one of the days. It would be good if housekeeping staff can greet hotel guests whenever they meet them.
On a positive note, the hotel room is of 5 star comfort and it is in a good location within walking distance to eateries and shops. Front desk staff are very helpful.

Overall is nice.

It's very convenient to go to restaurants around Gaya street and having breakfast in fuyuan locating right opposite of the front gate. Sadly when we arrived around 2am. We are not allowed to check in until 10am. Strongly suggest providing flexibility for that as the flights between china and kk are really limited. Others are fine. Room is large but the bed is a little short for us.

Great Place to Overnight in KK

Made a trip to Kota Kinabalu for a climbing tour up Mount Kinabalu and stayed at Hotel Sixty3 on the way in. The hotel was located in a very convenient spot with food, groceries, and massage outlets nearby. The hotel looked new and the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Even had a rain shower. Service was good and they stored my luggage during my climb without issues. Would stay here again if in town.

Located right in centre of town, plenty of restaurants and coffee shops around. Walking distance to Wisma Merdeka shopping complex and Suria shopping mall. It is right along the Sunday Gaya Street but my stay was not on a saturday night.
Overall a good hotel. The hotel booking system quotes a higher rate than if you book through booking agents on-line, such as hotels.com.

The location is convenient, because it is very close to the mall and the jetty port. The Sunday Market is right in front of the hotel.

The rooms are excellent - more on par with a 4 star hotel in KK, so long as you're not looking for a full service hotel. Check in staff were friendly and always smiling, the rooms were very spacious, and bed comfy, with a nice modern bathroom. The rooms (& bathrooms) are much better than at the Jesselton Hotel, which rides on its name. We asked for a quiet room off the main street, so weren't disturbed too much by noise, but could be an issue if you're on the street side. The only complaint that really disturbed us was the fact that if someone smokes in another room (it's meant to be a non-smoking hotel, so they shouldn't be smoking), it comes through the bathroom drain (or A/C system?) into your room - VERY strong! We ended up closing the bathroom door and only diving in there very quickly as it felt like we were in a smoker's room.
