A genuine high quality hotel. Very friendly staff. The Dining Room is top class, superb food. Good sized rooms and well cleaned each day. Nice public rooms on Ground Floor with separate bar and dining room. Underground carpark, very useful when we got a severe snow storm.
Easy walk into the town centre and there was also a crew bus shuttle service if needed.
Will certainly return I hope.

Some few things need update, showe glas far to small and everything silla o er, faucett in labatoey had a leaj and it was noticeable it has been tried to fix it with special glue. This property is a bait and switch. They advertise on their website that every room has a balcony, but that is not true. Secondly, there are no screens on the windows. We opened the windows to let the cool air in while we ate dinner and returned to our room to find bugs and mosquitoes inside. As a result, we had to close the windows all night, which made the room warm.

Additionally, at 5:30 am, someone in a nearby room took a shower, and the pipes made a squeaking noise that woke us up. Furthermore, there was major construction on a new building that is going to take a while, and all the construction noise started early. We had very little sleep, and the front desk staff seemed like they couldn't care less. I even pointed out that their website clearly states all rooms have balconies, but they just said sorry. I would never stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Staff was excellent and friendly. Room was spacious.
Very clean. Only 10 minute walk to town on a bike/walk path. Restaurant menu limited but delicious. One of better breakfasts I have had. Hotel is older and quaint. I enjoy well maintained older hotels as I think they have character.

The service from the front desk was fine and Carmen was exceptionally nice and helpful. However the room and bathroom definitely need an up to date upgrade since the cabinets and bathroom were literally falling apart, the sink drain didn't open and the deck furniture looked like it came from an old garage sale in Appalacia.

The room was very small and old looking. For a four star hotel I was expecting a much better breakfast. The cappuccino was awful and so was the carrot cake. The waiter used the word ‘cazzo’ I do not want to seem too fussy, but the overall quality of the hotel was three stars and I definitively overpaid it.

Hiking in the Dolomites

Great service at this alpine style hotel with great views and a spacious terrace. It’s about a 10 minute walk above the heart of town but quiet and more roomy as a result. We did two amazing hikes while here and used the local Dolomiti bus to get there both times. Front desk was very helpful in arranging onward travel. Good value given that it is peak season in the Dolomites.

Fantastic hotel! Just a few minutes walk to the city centre, makes it perfect for a quiet break! Super friendly staff.

Hotel might need some upgrade soon, but still can’t complain. Very generous breakfast, and free parking at hotel garage.

Room was spacious with plenty of storage, and had nice view of the mountains.

3D View of the Dolomites

We stayed for 2 nights in Cortina after haven stayed in Bolzano for 2 nights. Looking back, we should have skipped Bolzano all together and stay all 4 days in Cortina. The area is incredibly beautiful and the hotel is exactly how we like it, not in the city center so it is quiet but close enough that we really enjoyed the 15 minutes walk to the "city". The views amazing, the service at the front desk was great. They gave us some great recommendations for hiking and areas not to be missed. The only drawback was that breakfast only included boiled eggs and I requested 2 eggs sunny side up (fried) and they did not tell me that the was an extra charge and they charged us $8 euros for 2 eggs. Plus, all the hotels we stayed during this trip included the additional style of eggs made to order without a charge so this $8 charge was a turn off for us. If management is reading, I would recommend not to nickle and dime, that was a very bad taste when everything was going so perfectly. Make sure to get a room with the Dolomites view. As to the bed, it was your typical uncomfortable bed and pillow so will not ding them for that. Almost every hotel we stayed at made me wake up with a sore back until moving around and loosing it :-). The pictures are a good representation of what to expect. Overall, we loved it because of the view, the location away from the city center but yet close by, the hospitality and free parking. I would go back again!

We had a great time staying in Cortina at this hotel! The views were amazing, it was within walking distance to the town, and everyone was very friendly. The only thing we didn’t like was that we were asked to leave the hotel room key in the lobby whenever we left the building. This didn’t seem very secure to us, as anyone could ask for the room key. We had an amazing time and hope to visit again!

This is a super hotel in a lovely setting. The staff couldn't be more helpful. The buffet breakfast was great. They provided a bus to go to the slopes. There's a 15 minute walk down an off road track to get into town. It has a large underground car park with a ski and boots storage room. Will definitely be going back.

Extensive wine list with a beautiful 2008 Amarone della Valpolicella. Highly recommended.

Character often comes with age

When we arrived we were welcomed warmly and assisted with our luggage and immediately shown to our room. It was very cold outside but as expected our room was warm and cosy and we had a nice fruit basket awaiting us. We had a corner room with a balcony that afforded us the most beautiful views of the town and mountains. What we missed and would have loved was the facility to have a nice cup of coffee and tea made in our room after our long trip. This facility though small will make a huge difference as you do not always want to go down to the bar or lounge just for that.
We had the fortunate opportunity to meet the GM and have a nice drink with him and he made us feel even more welcome.
We always take a flask with us when we do long trips and the barman was so kind to fill it with hot water for us end even deliver it to our room himself.
We had excellent service right through our stay and we need to compliment the staff and management for that. Whatever information we needed was given to us immediately and in a very friendly manner.
As with most hotels in Italy we found that English was still a bit of a challenge and misunderstandings can take place and I therefore advise to double check whether the message was understood so that all parties are on par.
As far as their amenities are concerned we loved their free shuttle service downtown and their free wi-fi signal was good in the rooms. We loved their policy of no wi-fi in the dining room.
Breakfast variety was good!

Excellent, efficient and friendly service.

The hotel was a perfect base for a short skiing holiday. Although it is a short walk from the town centre (and taxis VERY expensive), the free shuttle bus provides an easy route to the bus station and town centre. It is also a short walk along a scenic disused rail track. The hotel itself is very comfortable with a lot of charm - and small enough that the service is personal and friendly. Views from the rooms are stunning and breakfast hearty enough to start even the most arduous day's skiing.

The pros: friendly staff, terrace views, and a location far enough away from town to give you a nice perspective of Cortina, but with only a 10 – 15 pleasant walk there. Dinner at the restaurant (Amadeus) is top-notch, and the wait staff is friendly and hard working, although they can sometimes become overwhelmed, and the live entertainment is charmingly cheesy. Cons: the rooms are very ‘last century’ (which could be said for the entire town). They’re relatively small, the décor and plumbing could use a renovation, and the internet is on the slow side. At Cortina prices, one might be left wanting a little more.

Nice, but not 4-star nice.

We stayed here at the recommendation of a friend who travels to this area for skiing. It would probably be an OK place to stay in the winter, but in mid-August, its lack of air conditioning was pretty uncomfortable. Speaking of uncomfortable, the beds and pillows were the hardest we experienced on a 2-week stay in Europe (mostly staying in hotels claiming to be 3-star). Otherwise, the breakfast was fine and the hotel staff were friendly enough.

What a Gem

Words cannot express my satisfaction with everything about this hotel. The Front line staff go the extra mile to assist in any way possible. Their competence and suitability in each of their jobs is across the board like no other hotel I have visited.
When I asked if I needed to sign the bill for supper I was addressed by name and told there's no need to sign in this hotel. This speaks volumes!

Villa blu is old Italian grandeur. Restaurant and breakfast were good. Bar/restaurant staf spoke hardly any English. Reception oké. Bathroom was outdated. Fungus on the ceiling. O quarto não estava devidamente limpo. Na chegada, o cesto do banheiro estava cheio e uma das toalhas de rosto com mancha de maquiagem. Acima da cama há um suporte de madeira parecido com uma prateleira onde eu e minha esposa batemos a cabeça com força por duas vezes. O hotel poderia rever esse acessório que não traz praticidade nenhuma. Localização ótima, atendentes prestativas. Hotel para classificação três estrelas.
