Pools can be cleaner. Room cleaning and service was good. Friendly staff. Loved the Ocean view from our 5th floor room, and beach view from the beach pool, especially when sunsets. The Resort is beautiful and is centre to many places and walking distance to night market.

We stayed in a room with 2 beds for our family of four. The beds are single size but we managed to make it work by pushing them together. The rooms need a deep clean but the landscaping and exterior is well kept with a gorgeous view of the ocean. The villas might have been a better, but we were just here for one night and wanted to stay near the airport.

Overall, the experience was only nice because of the proximity to the beach and the sunsets. Other than that, it has been such a disappointment. The cleanliness standards are so low - the food was left outside door, multiple staff walk past the door and no one cleared it. Ants were all over the place. The AC was leaking water, wasn't cooling the room despite maintaining it at a constant 18 degrees. The staff were a cherry on top of this, so hostile, rude and incompetent. Brace yourself with a lot of patience before you decide to enter the place.

There are two things we particularly like about this resort. First, there are two swimming pools, which give guests good options for relaxing. We especially enjoyed the villa section, with its small tree-lined paths where we took a walk every day.

The breakfast offers a good variety, and the seating area provides plenty of comfortable options. We dined at the seafood restaurant three times and really enjoyed it. The staff are very friendly and helpful throughout the resort.

If we come back next time, we will probably book a bigger room. One thing that could be improved is the Wi-Fi, as it was quite slow in our room and in the dining area.

I am giving two stars for service, but this resort was by far the worst experience I had during my entire trip to Vietnam. I had to call Expedia for help in the middle of the night due to ongoing issues.

Novotel Resort feels more like a roadside motel than a 4- or 5-star hotel. The amenities are outdated and poorly maintained. My room was moldy and filled with mosquitoes, which made the stay extremely uncomfortable.

As a bilingual guest, it was frustrating to stand there listening to foreign guests complain while staff simply ignored them because they could not accommodate basic requests, such as providing enough towels.

The most annoying issue was the internet connection—you would be lucky if it worked for more than one minute at a time.

Novotel Hotel & Resort seriously needs to upgrade its facilities. Otherwise, it should reconsider its name and star rating.

The aircon is not enough the fan doesn’t work, it was always humid in the room. no ammenities provided without calling for service. There is a light in the garden directed directly to the bathroom window and it’s always bright in the night. This is one of the worst experiences in Novotel I had after staying in so many places and countries and also being a member of IHG hotels

Very much style over substance. All pools were freezing cold, not enough sunbeds, beach could be better maintained and utilized like the Sonasea Beach bar which I would prefer. The bar staff and pool bar staff were very friendly and attentive but the reception were surly and almost rude on check in and never friendly when asking them anything, was like a chore. Also at breakfast they cleared my plates 5 times when it was evident it hadn’t been left and I’d just gone to get food, I left my cap and other items but they still cleared and threw away food that was not perfectly fine and tea I’d just made, so was annoying. They upgraded me to a room with a huge bed but for 1 person it was impractical and not required, if their level of English was better it may not be an issue but it was lacking. Overall disappointed by the place

We booked a room for 3 people but when we arrived the room had only 2 twin beds. The people at reception were not very helpful.the hotel seemed nice but the options are limited and required transportation to go to other places. The beach was not very well, we found a lot of garbage on the beach and the water was not very clean so we opted to get a car to go to other beaches around the island that were transparent and clean. Unfortunately I would choose this hotel again. On the positive side, the breakfast had a lot of options to choose from.

This is a nice resort that could be nicer. There are several areas around the resort that show stains on the flooring or grounds. In the common hallways there are multiple leaks from the ceiling. My room was very nice and well appointed.

The food and beverage were considerably more expensive than other places in Vietnam, so if you are visiting here after travelling elsewhere in Vietnam - be prepared for the jump in prices!

Novotel is definitely a great resort for families. It has a ton of amentities including a weekly activity schedule that has something for everyone. Free bicycles, tennis, kayaking, paddle boarding, etc. Always something to do if you'd prefer to stay on resort grounds. The staff are very friendly and are quick to help. I know it's not common outside the US, but tipping the buggy drivers or room cleaners is always appreciated.

Negatives
Tourists. The amount of families that do not watch their kids, let them run rampant or the amount of adults that act incredibly entitled is astounding. During my 4 days, I witnessed a grown man sitting in the entrance fountain lounging like it was a pool, a woman take a paddleboard that was reserved for another guest and would not return it even after I told her the rental guidelines, a father letting his child walk along the outside border of the infinity pool on the other side of the glass where the drop was about 4 meters.

If you go travel to another country that's not your own, please don't be that kind of tourist.

Stayed as a family of 2 adults and 2 children. There is no view from the room, you should get a room with an ocean view. The space is small. It's a little cramped for 4 people. The hotel is large and has a great pool. Breakfast is delicious. Convenient free airport shuttle. There are many restaurants within a 1-minute walk from the hotel. You can also eat cheaply.

Downside, beach got dirty and staff just watched guests doing the clean up! Some bar staff very slow, 25 mins for a drink! Aircon never made room cold enough, asked to be cleaned but never got better, 10 degrees on high 24hr a day!

Nice hotel but in the wrong place!

Lovely clean hotel with friendly staff. Pool are and beach lovely and plenty of beds freely available. What lets it down is the area. It’s almost abandoned with 80% of local ‘shopping centre’ shops closed or empty units. Lots of villas and apartments have been built and most just left abandoned. Unless you hire a scooter or use a taxi/grab to go into town, you’ll see nothing g of the atmosphere of Phu Quoc.
Food for breakfast is well presented and a good variety but too many people with no buffet manners and hot food only lukewarm. Restaurant food good but expensive, as are the drinks. Really an all inclusive kind of hotel, which is not what we were looking for in Vietnam but I’m sure will suit you if that’s what you are after.

I have been this resort so many time in the past. This time , it is worst . I can see buses of local tourist. They were super loud, It was not same as before 2017-2019. The hotel was nice and quite.
When we check in They didn’t have room that we booked. I show them picture of room. Receptionist told me if I would like to have a room like the pic and downstair .. I need to call them ahead of but This is not the first time I book at this hotel. It never happen in the past.

The breakfast time is horrible.
I feel like I’m middle of wet market lol. One of the funniest thing happen when we were seating at table and a man came and sat down at our table even we said no. He just ignore it. How rude they are.

The villa we rented was in bad shape, in the garden there were old cigarettes and some garbage as well. Old ash were on the pool table.

You won't get wrong with Novotel

As a frequent flyer, I've been staying in different Novotels globally. This one in Phu Quoc also shows the typical standards of Novotel. Clean guest room with a bathtub. Polite and helpful staffs. Not very surprised but bunch of selection of buffet breakfast. The best part is it comes with private beach which is very good to enjoy the sunset.

This resort was built in 2016 so it still has a sense of newness. They offered free transfer to and from the airport to the resort. Their counter located outside the baggage claim areas past the exit. Reservation papers need to be shown to staff. Checking in was fast with security deposit of $215 US dollars. We booked a garden view room but We got a room on the second floor facing the motorcycle parking lot. It was not a great location as it resulted in persistent noises from traffic and nearby constructions. At night, there was usually a low humming white noise from something... I would recommend you ask for a room in the higher floor. Staffs, however, quickly responded to my complaint of the noises... staffs were friendly, polite, helpful and attentive. This resort offered great variety of buffet, dinner was around $30/adult. Foods are well prepared with great qualities and presentation. It will definitely be cheaper to eat in town at Dương Đông. Transportations to town were limited to taxi and chartered car. We rented a motorcycle through the hotel for $9/day as they claimed the rental agency that associated with them offered 24 hours day-rental unlike other rental agencies that only offered 8-16 hours. My only complaint with the motorcycle rental agency was the fact that they failed to have a full tank of gas upon delivery. We were looking around for gas stations but was told none was nearby but go to the street vendors as gas are sold at a higher rates.

- When we landed at the airport we were told the shuttle runs at certain times and we would have had to wait 40 mins or longer for a shuttle, so we took a grab instead (the 4 star hotels we stayed at in Vietnam all followed up with us regarding our arrival and went above and beyond even before we set foot in their hotels. And the transport was ready and waiting)

-upon arriving at the hotel there was no warm hospitable welcome

- no information about things that the resort offers

- no information about shuttles to the town and there is only 1 shuttle a day to the town from 5-9

- very far from everything (a grab to town and back would cost around 600,000 vnd)

- Nothing around the hotel so we were forced to buy food from the hotel. There is a market across the hotel that does bbq but they grill meat and fish on the same grills (if your halal or pescatarian this might be a problem)

- the spa is so mediocre for a 5 star hotel. They don't offer \"proper\" pedicures and the first treatment we received was so bad that we opted to cancel our massages for the following day.

Pros:

The beach front bungalow with private pool is awesome.

The only reason I'll give this hotel a good rating is for the room we booked. It was exactly as pictured and we were close enough to the beach, without having our privacy invaded.

If you plan on exploring Phu Quoc this hotel may not be a good option for you. There are much better options closer to everything for a similar price

Beautiful hotel, excellent location and fantastic facilities. Prices at the restaurants and bars were very reasonable.

Staff were so sweet, but not attentive enough with regards to taking food and drink orders. Many times we spent too long trying to flag someone down. Probably good for the hip pocket though :-)

It's a nice resort and the majority of the staff is friendly, but what really ruins the experience was the money exchange counter in the gift shop. The clerk attempted twice to give us a worse exchange rate of USD/VND than what was even shown on their counter. Of course the difference was not major, but it was the dishonesty from the staff that deeply disappointed us. Here's what exactly happened: For exchange of 50/100 dollar bills, the rate was 1:23060; 10/20 bills for 1:23014; and 1,2/ 5 bills for 1:28000ish. We exchanged 3 times with 50 dollars, 20 dollars and 30 dollars, and we were given a worse rate TWICE. The clerk even refused to give the written rate, stating: \"If you refuse the rate, I cannot exchange for you.\" We had to challenge the clerks to get the correct rate cited on the counter - would you expect dishonesty and improfessionalism from a 5 star hotel? Not to mention the staff giggled around customers and ran away from their stations from time to time.

My husband and I spent 11 days at this property for my birthday and enjoyed every second there. There are great restaurants with savvy entertainment and specials, a wonderful beach, and even better drinks. However, it is truly the staff that make this place special especially Jubanny and her team including Hoa, Trinh, Linh, Tulev, and others. From my breakfast birthday cake to assisting my husband with creating a birthday dinner on the beach to the wonderful departure gift, this staff knows hospitality. Not to mention the great housekeeping team who faithfully visited our bungalow every day at 2pm and really helped my husband and I to feel away from it all. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Everything are good beside two things that must have to improve. 1) the hotel staff definitely need to have more training on driving the resort car. The car almost hit me and my kids while we are getting on the car ( the staff said because the break is not working but he should have only start the engine after we all get on the car) It happen to me twice and saw once.

I went with my family with 2 adults and 2 kids in late July. I found that the equipment in the room was not design for four people...e.g. just two sets of towel, two sets of slipper etc...the room was clean and tidy, but I think the bed is 3 feet which a little bit small for one adult and one kid. Buffet breakfast is good and have a lot of choice of food...but dark side is, too many people which is not easy to find a table. I used Vietnam mobile data card during my travel, but very strange, I can not have any signal when I stay in the hotel, room, swimming pool etc....but when I went out of the hotel, I got the signal again!

Good hotel nice breakfast. Pillow was nice to sleep. Will visit again in future. Just go to night market abit troublesome, need to rent a motorbike.

The staffs do not speak English and will try to avoid you. The services provided was not what I would expect from Novotel, but anyhow, the entire stay was OK for me. Location wise: it's around 15 mins motor ride to Night Market. Quite near (around 15 mins) to Cable Car and 20 mins to Sao Beach. Very near to the famous Sunset Sanato (5-8 mins motor ride). Please do not expect anything outside the hotel area, it's like a cowboy town, however our journey to all attractions area are not a hassle at all. Rent a motorbike so you can travel anywhere at your own convenience, taxis could be pricey.
