Used to be our favorite, back in the slightly finkier past. Now, no soap in the shower, no handrail in the shower (code violation?), no hair dryer, nice drip over coffee, but nothing to heat the water with, no clean towels at the pool until we complained, etc. Used to be free snacks every day. Alas, no more. Dirty sitting at the pool. For the prices now charged, management needs to get their act together.

Some detail issues upon arrival. Patio doors were not closed proper and were open upon our arrival. Hot water was not on, and had to be reset. Maintenance took care of immediately when we notified them. This was a nice upgrade, but not worth the money. Furniture in living area, cute and looked great, but was some of the most uncomfortable furniture we have sat in. Front door would not lock, had to pull on the door at night to get it locked (or push extremely hard when leaving the property), just another inconvenience.

Very close to being perfect, but attention to details will be the only way to get an excellent rating from me.

Cute vintage motel. Rooms are very small but efficient. Adult only pool was nice. Could have used some more active poolside service.

Hotel had a large group of 5th graders staying while we were there and they were a bit wild with limited chaperones and hotel staff did not intervene. This made it difficult to sit outside for dinner.

Local restaurants were fabulous and the coffee shop in town was great!

I liked that the property felt upscale but not pretentious. The rooms were very comfortable. One tiny thing was that the chromecast for streaming didn’t work, but we spent most of the time in the pool anyway, so it wasn’t a big deal. Every member of the staff was super helpful and kind. I also really like that they had an adults only pool. The pool was fabulous and we will be returning!

We love, love, loved staying at the lodge! Gorgeous property with drought tolerant landscaping and lovely family-friendly pools. Our room looked very newly renovated or brand new altogether and it was thoughtfully done. I appreciated the pour over coffee in the room, the modern touches like the lamps with USB-C ports, and the easy demeanor about late check-out. We 100 percent would stay here again and look forward to coming back with friends with kids so they can enjoy the property too.

1st off this was a beautiful property. We stayed in the suite. The pools were great, and the hot tub exceptional. The bar and restaurant were good as well. We didn’t eat there but the drinks were good and were able to take to the pool area.

So here are the cons. Upon arrival we received our room keys, drove to the room and of course the touch pad was not working. I had to drive back to the office to get keys reprogrammed and they had the maintenance guy meet us at the room #701.

Not sure what he did but the room access was a problem all stay. The room itself was small. No bells and whistles, very basic. There was no coffee maker, no cups, no ice bucket, no iron, no ironing board and minimal amount of towels. We stayed for two days and noticed a pest issue. There were dead bugs in the corners spread out the room and some were still moving as if they were sick from pesticides. There were also cob webs on the light fixtures and various other obvious places. For the price tag I expected a lot better quality. All in all I give it a 4/10.

To top it all off the joined walls were paper thin! We clearly heard another couple fighting well into the night. We were glad to be out of there to be honest. Felt like we didn’t get the experience we wanted and decided to extend our trip one more night. We ended up booking another much better room in healdsburg.

Staff in general were rude and incompetent.
Rooms were not cleaned when we checked in…drawer had medications from a previous rental
We had to wait 1-hr at 1am since our room keys refused to work and there was no one at the front desk. Then at check out Jessica refused to provide us water bottles (which were supposed to be complimentary even after we mentioned that we had little kids)
Would not recommend this place unless you don’t have anywhere else to go!

We elected to have a Premium Room which turned out to be on the second floor. This would have been okay except my travelling companion had mobility issues. We were hoping they had an elevator - which they don't - or an additional landing on the stairs to the second floor.

We liked that the windows could be open for fresh air! The shower pressure was weak and changed intermittently during showers. We also would have liked additional electric plugs for phones etc. Beds were comfortable and temperature was easily changed. It's a pleasant property to stay at and if you enjoy walking, town is easily accessible.

The overall hotel was beautiful, however we stayed in one of the retro rooms and it was pretty bleak. Decor included a random hula hoop on one wall, an old jump rope, and a woven armadillo hanging above the bed. Was kind of lol but also at this price point, pretty absurd. Also no hooks in the bathroom to hand towels or the robe so getting ready felt hard in this space.

The pools and spa were not working and up to the heat as advertised …..but we were still charged the resort fee. The coffee instructions were to use 2 scoops but no scoop was provided. There was not a small table and chair to sit or set things. There was a lack of places to put your clothes and things … this would be a good overnight place not a longer stay due to that.

The room was not quite ready when we checked in around 11pm. Toilet has pee mark on it. Sink is broken so water not draining that we have to fix it ourselves as it was pretty late. When check out next day and shared these to staff, they didn’t say anything. The room has only one robe so we needed another one to go to mineral pool and I went to front desk to request it , they said they will ask stuff to deliver one it didn’t happen the whole morning. And my son left his contact lens in hotel. When I called back a few hours later after checkin , they couldn’t find it . Not sure cleaning service ppl just throw them in garbage. Overall pretty shocked about this is 4-star hotel. Not worth it . Very unpleasant experience.

Loved the whole shebang- a quiet motel low key live with a clean new flair. Calistoga is the true gem of the Napa valley and the Calistoga motel is such a nice clean place to relax around the pool. Nearby walk/run/bike trail through the vineyards. My favorite. Walk to downtown for great shopping and restaurants. The perfect weekend escape you didn’t know you needed!

Loved staying here and all the personal touches like the water bottles,wine, and snacks in our room. The property and rooms were very nice and clean. Restaurant at the property was very convenient. Location is absolutely perfect, walkable to everything. The only thing we would change is having a gate from the main pools to the adult pool instead of having to walk all the way around to get there.

We upgraded to a second level room with a balcony (502) when booking, however we never used the balcony because the air conditioning system for the main building was so loud it was too u pleasant to be outside. We asked to change rooms upon arrival but the front desk was very vague about availability of other rooms and we seeks to have no choice to stay despite the whole place feeling pretty empty.

Really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this property if you’re looking for a spacious non pretentious environment. We had the two bedroom room that was perfect for a friends trip . I cannot say enough about how elegant the room , bedding and amenities were in this room . Beware of the hassle with water though , considering the price - they could have made that easier . I was charged an extra $10 for two bottles of water and wasn’t told by Jessica when I asked to grab them . We used the pools daily , adult pool was freezing cold and unseeable due to temperature. We each had a service at the spa which was fantastic and spa staff were wonderful, I had Jamie for an incredible massage and used steam room. Use the bikes to ride into town as it’s a great way to get out and go into downtown Calistoga. Will come back.

It was a charming, well-curated property. They did a great job transforming a motel into a cute, modern version. It would be even better if the front-side rooms had pendant lighting or window shutters to add a bit more character.

The room was clean and comfortable. If I had to mention one downside, it would be the water pressure, which could be improved.

The bathroom wasn’t clean that well there was hair on the floor and toilet paper. We couldn’t watch TV the signal kept cutting out. The food at the restaurant was pretty yummy but very slow.We woke up to make coffee and the water pot was moldy. I did take a picture. Pretty disappointed because I’ve stayed here before and it was wonderful this time we upgraded to a better room and it still wasn’t that great. I’m glad they made an adult pool area, but it was very cold and it had chlorine in it so we didn’t go in it.

Great hotel! There are such limited pet-friendly options in Calistoga, we were so happy to find the Motor Lodge. Perfect for our needs, and nice and quiet away from downtown but still walkable to there or can ride a bike to downtown very easily. Will definitely stay again!

Absolutely beautiful grounds. We were here when the property was about 1/3 full and it was perfect. If it were during high season I think the pools would be too crowded for me. Lots of kids, awesome for families. Dining was excellent and staff very responsive. For over $700 per night they need to dial it up a little- no espresso machine, hot tub not accessible from the adult pool, etc. AMAZING massage with Mack. Would definitely go back!

This was supposed to be a calm, relaxing Birthday family getaway for my spouse. There was a racing event at the raceway nearby for the whole weekend. From 5-10pm you would just hear the races going on pretty loudly. You could hear the races poolside, while outside dining, etc. Not sure if this can be an option in the future, but maybe a notification to potential customers before booking that may be expecting the quiet, Calistoga vibes. There were a few other guests we spoke to that felt the same. There is no sound barrier between the first and second floors. If you are on the first floor you will hear EVERYTHING happening on the 2nd floor. On our 2nd day someone had defecated in the family pool. The pool had to shut down for the next 24 hours. We were a family of four with an 11 and 16 year old during what the front desk stated was the “hottest weekend of the year”. When the pool shut down I asked if the adult pool would be an option, but was told no. We went back to our room for a few hours to look for something to do in the heat. Eventually we noticed families had moved to the adult pool which was nice, but we had missed a few hours in the meantime. Overall, not a quiet, relaxing getaway as we had hoped for our first time in Calistoga.

We had a great 3 night stay. The pool was great as well as the hot tub, we wish we had more time to use them! Food at fleetwood was okay. It was nice to have it close by. We were on the bottom floor so we heard the guests walking upstairs the entire night but otherwise the resort was peaceful. Parking was easy and included with the resort fee. The only issue was a charge to my room that wasn’t from us. They need to be a little more strict on who can charge what, but they resolved it no problem. Overall great stay for the price and we would stay again!

We enjoyed our stay here. We went here with our teenage kids. We enjoyed the pool, fire pit/smores. The place is close by a lot of restaurants and shops. Will definitely recommend.
Pros: clean, safe, good a/c, friendly staff
You can purchase s’mores kit. We weren’t able to enjoy the bikes and bocce ball since it was a bit hot when we went. They have some board games available to borrow, too.
Cons: we stayed in the 1st floor and the floors and walls are thin. You can hear every movement and footsteps. Noise don’t usually bother us, but it was loud. The bathroom sliding door looks nice but it doesn’t stay close. We also wish they have a car charging station.

Should tear down old motel rooms

Love the spa, mineral pools. Restaurant is good. Quiet area. However, do not stay in the 100 or 200 (and maybe 300) level rooms: these seem to be refurbished structures form the original motel: paper thin walls, creaky floors, some trace o0f cigarette smoke from the years gone by. Insist on 400 or 500 or 600 or 700 rooms in newer 2 story buildings

People were awesome. housekeeping around the property was lax. a glass with a straw and lemon slice stayed on the outside trash bin for 3 days before it was picked up. in contrast, when housekeeping came to delivery more TP they straightened up the room and made the beds which was nice to back to. i would stay there again. food was great

We have stayed here at least five times in the past. While the pool and areas are all family friendly, and the rooms are fun and whimsical, we found that some rooms were not very clean (dirty, beat up floors) and the back camper style rooms looked out onto a super messy dumpster with construction materials laying around. It's an eyesore. Doesn't seem necessary to have that mess when people are paying so much for rooms - clean it up! A friend stayed in what might be a dog-friendly room and it wasn't clean and the floor was really bad. I think since Hyatt took over it's gone downhill.

This property was nice. I came for a day trip and was able to get a massage and enjoy the pool and hot tub. I didn’t like the carpet in the bedroom and the shower was horrible. The shower head is above your head and unless you want to submerge your under the water there was no room to escape.

We initially booked legacy room. Which we were very disappointed with it it looked like a motel slightly freshened up, Expedia really didn’t give a lot of pictures to show the room for legacy and are anticipations were not what it was . Possibly they need to show more pictures of the legacy room on the site. Luckily, the front desk upgraded us to an available deluxe room, which was very nice.!! The deluxe room was very comfortable and stylish and had all the accommodations needed. The only note I wanted to make for the deluxe room. The floors were not washed in the bathroom and were dirty!

The staff went above and beyond beginning with Luis who shared the wine partner list giving us an opportunity to plan our visits in the valley. The room was clean, comfortable, with robes and towels for the pools and spa tub.
We enjoyed dining at Fleetwood, returning for a second night to try the well-reviewed pizza. Did not disappoint!
This is a gem in Calistoga!
