When I arrived the front desk staff refused to swipe my credit card when the chip wouldn't pick up, she said she wasn't allowed because people had desputed their charges, not sure how that's relevant to how you run it. There were no towels in the room at all and the room smelled like old food

Do not stay here. This place does not look like the pictures. We checked in and immediately checked out. They still charged us a full three nights stay. And said I had to take it up with Expedia. Expedia told me to contact management since they’re the ones who charged me. When I contacted management, they said it’s not their policy to refund, or cancel within 24 hours of check-in. I told him how am I supposed to know how bad the place is 24 hours before I check in if I’ve never been there. And if your pictures represent one thing in and in real life, they’re completely different. They reluctantly agreed to reimburse me two nights out of the three. But I have yet to see any credit on my credit card. So basically they just lied to me to get me off the phone. This hotel has terrible customer service. And I would not recommend that anyone stay here.

Despite the glowing, hip pics of a Sonoma inn, remember that this is an aged 1960s 2 floor motel with aluminum windows.

One loud child at the pool and the sound travels into your room.

On plus side, able breakfast, nice new shower, and nice sheets

I have traveled all over the world and used all kinds of accommodations and this is the most interesting hotel in the world. The decor and atmosphere is unique and original. They have a yoga dome, although it's operational in the summer rather than all year around. They have a dog run area, and an outdoor seating area with fire pits, but the vibe is much more communal and artistic than what you see at corporate hotel chains. Breakfast every morning is by the pool side and they even have a small cute bar in the pool house. There is so much heart, creativity, and effort in this property that it would make any trip feel magical.

Nice hot breakfast and the shower/bathroom was recently redone so that was nice. We had a 5 night stay and not once was the room made up. We had to go and get new towels and toilet paper when we needed them and take out our own trash.

Check in was easy. The room was very cute. But we were on the first floor and the people above were very active all night long - and loud. We heard every movement.
The breakfast was not as good as we had hoped. The waffle maker was not cooking correctly and the potatoes were chewy.
The hot tub/pool area and the bar attached looked great and I wish we had time to try those out.

My stay here was absolutely terrible. The rooms are disgusting. I will attach pics. I had to stay over night because I had a family members funeral to attend, I cut my stay one day early because I couldn’t stand if and the hotel refused to refund my money. This place of filthy and needs a deep cleaning! The hot staff played games and were flat out rude as I tried to check out. I will never stay here again!

Beds are super comfy, the pool and hot tub is clean and there is a nice fire pit to relax by with friends and family. Very dog friendly. I’ve met some amazing people while staying there and it’s interesting meeting new people and hearing where they’re from. Made a few friends with other travelers like myself.

we love the amenities and property as a whole, the times we've needed staff however, they extremely removed, customer service seems so foreign to them, no warmth or confidence in the service, lack luster people experience and they don't answer the front desk phone, it took 5 cycles through the phone tree on 3 separate stays to actually get through to someone there. everything else is great just not the actual people.

The Sandman is just \"fine\" -- the room was a bit shabby, and the walls are thin, but we appreciated the pool for our two active kiddos in the afternoons. It is \"family friendly\" insofar as there is a pool and nothing is too precious, but there was not much open space for kids to play safely other than the pool, so I would only recommend if you're literally only looking for a place to sleep.

Front desk did not mention about extra charges on check out. Did not say that there is a parking fee of $5 per day. Where do they expect us to park if we dont want to pay for the parking or dont have enough money for parking?. The bottomline is they should have inform the customer verbally of that extra charge, surprise charge is ridiculous.

We were disappointed that the refrigerator froze everything we put in it. Absolutely ruined a 1-pound package of strawberries that we placed on the bottom shelf. We didn’t realize until too late how cold it was. The only other drawback was that people were smoking very close to our room (144).

While I was almost ready to give a 5 star review for the nice amenities, decent breakfast and a clean room, the customer service pissed me off a bit. I specifically requested for a late checkout during check in and the front desk advised me to call the next day to confirm, when I did , she said she can’t honor it as she already ran out of the 10 late checkouts she can offer per day. I totally understand it is at the hotel’s discretion to offer it but If it is first come first serve and has a limit on the number, she could have simply mentioned it the previous day when I already requested it. When I expressed my concern at the checkout process, there wasn’t even an acknowledgment of the problem , she is like “ok” , I mean , common , some customer service response would have been great .. otherwise , loved the place. The 5$ parking fee was not expected either but not a big amount , so will live with it as we only stayed for a day

Needs larger breakfast area, just a small bar and one couch, elbow to elbow dining. But mostly: Put some HOOKS on your bathroom doors and in the room! Why is every hotel too cheap to do this? Just get a cheap bar of hooks off Amazon for coats, robes, etc for the room, and NO hotel bath door should be without towel hooks! NO, they do not dry on towel racks in a wet bathroom, especially with 2 or more people. Dont you use hooks at home? Coathooks, at least!

It was clean, the people doing the cleaning are doing a great job! Check in was awkward, guy barely spoke to me and was not friendly. Lady at check out was nice and friendly. Average all around. Check-in was bad because a guest was cussing someone out down at the end of the rooms. I tried to call the front desk twice about this, but they never answered the phone. Police were called by someone, though, and responded quickly. We wanted a second floor room but were told the king kitchenette wouldn’t be ready for 40 more minutes even though it was 4:10 pm. My opinion is that all the rooms should be ready by the 4 PM check-in time. We downgraded to a standard room so that we could get off the bottom floor and not have to wait 40 minutes. Front desk clerk was friendly, but we saw no one there for backup. Pool was very nice. Breakfast was adequate.

B E D B U G S !! Came home with insect bites all over my abdomen and back. There were young men outside rapping music loudly in the parking lot. Made me feel unsafe as a mother with her children staying at the hotel. The pool was open to anyone and people just let their friends in loads at a time. No supervision. The bed bug bites were just the icing on the cake. Had my do not disturb sign on the door and house keeping came pounding on the door and tried to open it. Seriously, never NEVER going back EVER. Avoid at all cost. Will be requesting full refund and im sorry but this was just unacceptable.

The room was very clean, except for a weird thick greasy substance on the handle of the minifridge, which I cleaned off with wipes.

Beds were VERY hard and kind of uncomfortable.

In the room there was a lamp hanging from the ceiling that was low enough that I had to duck away from it to walk around the side of the bed (I'm 5'9\"). Seems like a hazard.

Breakfast was great, check in/out was fast and easy.

Also a VERY quiet place! Loved that.

The property looked good. The amenities--pool and gym were well maintained and convenient to access. Our room however was not as well cared for. We found bits of cereal under the sheets which were not very comfortable for sleeping on. The windows allowed for a lot of noise to get into the room, so it felt like everyone passing by was in the room with us.
