Excellent stay! The staff were all welcoming and helpful. The views are amazing. Breakfast cost 14. 95 and was worth every penny--they had much more than would be offered at a free breakfast. One day they even served shrimp and grits!

Beautiful location! You can't beat the beach view! The hotel is centrally located in Orange Beach. I booked this hotel for colleagues attending a conference at the Perdido Beach Resort. They liked the fact that it's close to the conference. There is a pool bar with good pizza! There was construction there when I booked the last stay. Even though I booked on Hotels.com, the hotel was kind enough to call ahead and let us know that there was construction there and it may be noisy. That was very thoughtful of them! The construction was not an issue at all!

The tides is such an amazing way for a family to experience the beach. Right on the water, the rooms have plenty of space and storage as well as bunk beds for kiddos. We much prefer this to renting a condo in Orange beach. The breakfast buffet in the morning is so affordable and a great way to start the day looking out over the gulf. We have been three times and will return

The pregnant lady checked us in and was super helpful. Room was exceptionally clean, housekeeping came everyday and was friendly. Breakfast bar was all you can eat and there was something for everyone. The best breakfast of any hotel I’ve ever stayed at. There is a fee, but it is about the same cost you would pay at the Diner across the street. The hotel breakfast is much better than the Diner. Easy access to the pool and beach. It rained during our stay, but we enjoyed the balcony listening to the waves and there were many things to do with a short drive. I don’t recommend the Diner or Cottons, both were horrible. Big Mike’s steakhouse was phenomenal. The guy who makes omelettes and crepes does an excellent job and helped me see dolphins from the breakfast/lobby area. It’s a wall of windows and beautiful. Everyone was nice and helpful.

I liked the large balcony.

They didn’t have room ready for check in at 4. Pre checked in around 1pm and was told I would get a call when room was ready between 3-4. That didn’t happen.

The lady that checked us in apparently did not have our card on file for the room. We got a text that they didn’t have our card after we ordered food and drink at the bar. Paid cash and cleared with the very nice bar tender.

Came back from dinner and we were locked out of our room. No text telling us they were going to lock us out of a room we paid for. This required my husband to go back to desk provide a card and get new key.

I’ve shortage on the first day of stay and no ice on our last day. Not at the bar or machine.

We spent a whole day at the beach to come back to no room service had been performed at 5pm. So we just asked the maid for clean towels.

Hot tub wall was moldy and dirty.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The facility was poorly maintained. The pool was not heated only one of two elevators were working and it would stop at every floor even if no one was waiting very unsafe. We chose to take the stairs for ninety percent off our stay. We were on the fifth floor. Lastly there was no coffee service in the room and no house keeping service for the duration of our stay. Hotel is at best a one star very disappointing.

Travelers this is something I didn't see upon booking parking is $10 a day. Also beach chairs and umbrellas are $45 dollars a day. If you are a coffee drinker theirs is no complementary coffee. Save yourself $$ and bring your own beach chairs and cooler for alcoholic beverages. The drinks are $$. Over all everything was expensive! I Will not return. It is much better to do an all inclusive in Mexico! The staff was great! Lots of restaurants close.

Good hotel with a side view of beach. They charged extra for breakfast and parking and did not have a coffee maker in the room or an alarm clock. Parking was very crowded with a lot small spaces designated for compact cars (duh) instead of a all standard size spaces. Beds were hard and uncomfortable. They are building a new hotel on the side so there will probably not be any more side beach view rooms after this year. All nearby restaurants were exorbitant with all but one place in gulf shores with meals below $20.

Having the ice machine on the 5th and 7th floors makes it difficult to get your ice chest ready for the beach. Expensive ( not free) breakfast was a shock to me. Charging to park was unexpected. Lobby on the 4th floor is something I've never seen before. Nice pool but I will never stay there again.

My family has been staying at Best Western on the beach for roughly 15 years. Although the hotel is an older one, it has been kept up beautifully over the years. The buffet breakfast used to be included in the room price, but now there is a charge for breakfast and a server attending your needs. As everything in life has gone up I'm guessing that this is the reason the hotel is now charging for breakfast and coffee as well unless you have the buffet which has not changed. In addition you can order off the menu if you ask. If you have breakfast at the Waffle House across the street you would pay the more and nowhere close to the atmosphere of looking at the magnificent gulf! The staff is great and if you arrive early and there is a room ready, you may get to check in a little earlier. I love The Tides and will come back next time I visit Orange Beach! Thank you all and please stay safe during Hurricane Season!

I understand not all rooms will have a beach view. I didn't notice or possibly overlooked a way to specify \"beach view\" or not when placing the reservation. We had a view to the east, of the neighboring hotel.
The hallway on the 6th floor was always way chillier than necessary for this time of year. The elevator(s) are excruciatingly slow.
Exiting the parking area can be a challenge. Making a right turn to the east, then planning a U-Turn, would be the safest way to go west from here.
Charging for parking was a surprise at checkout. This may have been mentioned at check-in, but that was a blur.
The front desk staff was pleasant & helpful.
The breakfast staff could have provided better information. On Sunday, an omelet bay was offered. It was not made clear that this was to be serviced by staff & not guests. When I approached the bay, a man called out from across the dining area, stopping me from attempting an omelet myself.

We really loved our stay at The Tides. You can’t beat the location, walking right onto the beach, and every window has a view. Parking was easy.

There are private chair rentals right in front of the hotel ($45/day for 2 chairs & an umbrella). Our room with 2 queen beds was amply big, as was the washroom. And a good gym too.

We would definitely recommend.

Little disappointed that for breakfast the shrimp and gets was over one of the main reason I book with the hotel, and my room was available for the Xbox system and the kids were excited but trying to get them connected on the tv was hard to do so they never got a chance to play it. Overall the staffs were phenomenal and I enjoyed walking out being straight on the beach

So first, I booked my husband and I a beach view room. There were rooms listed as a partial or obstructed beach view, however, I chose the one that did not mention that, thinking we would have a nice view of the beach, like the pictures in the listing showed. Upon arrival to our room, we discovered that our view was actually a view of the construction work next door, the highway, and a small sliver of beach. We informed the front desk, and I tried to show them my booking and what was advertised, however they insisted that I just didn't read the booking information properly, placing the blame on me, rather than even trying to be understanding of the misleading room advertisement. They said that if we wanted an actual beach view, we would've needed to book a beach front room (which were advertised as ground level beach view rooms). All they offered was to take the fee for parking off, which we were never even informed of upon check-in; which is concerning, as I'm sure not all guests drive/park here.
On top of that, the lock on the door was insanely hard to lock. The body wash smelled awful. The tv would go in and out. The hot tub had so much chlorine in it, that it burned both mine and my husband's eyes and throats.
The only positive things about the stay, was the direct access to the beach, and the close proximity to anything we wanted to do outside of the hotel. Overall, I would never have paid so much for the awful experience we had at this hotel.

it's a great place to stay- one of my complaints is the elevators are very slow. Also this time, we noticed that the coffee machines have been taken out of the rooms. So if you want coffee, you have to go to lobby and pay for it.

I was a little disappointed this time. This is our 3rd stay here. The coffee makers have been removed from the rooms. The fridge is not cold enough to put anything perishable in. We had to throw out several things, like milk. there is no way to adjust the temperature. With as much as I paid to stay here, parking should be including. The room was clean though.

Robyn at the check in desk is so rude! Zero customer service skills! I arrived at 3:45. Check in time is at 4pm. I was asking Bella about check in and parking, etc., Robyn rudely interjected twice about check in is at 4 and we don’t guarantee your room at 4. Blah blah.. no one was talking to her! However Bella called and found that our room would be ready in ten mins! She checked us in without any problems! She showed us where to park, when our room would be ready and all the things we needed to know. Thanks Bella for your hospitality!

The hotel is on the water and the the kids loved the heated pool.
Be prepared to pay for parking and to sign out towels, games, and to travel up and down the elevator for everything.

The hotel was clean, the staff nice, the beds hard and the water temperature in the shower changes while taking a shower.

The youngest was excited about the heated pool that's about it.
