Our stay at Tanque Verde Ranch was wonderful. The view out our window was the reason we came to Arizona… pure desert 🌵 beauty with thousands of Saguaro peeping their heads n arms up. SPECTACULAR VIEW We came here specifically for horseback riding… and rode almost every day. The riding was wonderful too. You are amongst them as we say (you couldn’t take a picture without a saguaro in it.) The staff, trail ride guides, and morning breakfast buffet all were top notch… and did I mention THE VIEWS🏜️. Thanks so much for our beautiful visit… we would love to return.
Ps… we love animals. The cutest Nubs the cat and a reclusive old ranch dog… along with hummingbirds. We saw roadrunners, javelinas, cute little quails, rabbits and those beautiful horses!! Gentleman Jack was the most handsome I rode, but Big Tuna was a looker too. Hitchhiker I have to say was such a good ride… perfectly trained. They all were so good. Thanks again!

My family loved Tanque Verde ranch! There were so many activities and my younger girls (aged 10) loved the kids program. My 12 year old son found it to be a little too “kiddie” for his taste, felt like it was geared towards young elementary aged kids. The food was great, our room was great, staff were nice, horses were amazing! Wish the food prices and menu hadn’t been changed for spring break, made our meal charges way higher for the week. My family did enjoy mountain biking but it seemed that inexperienced kids would sign up for the intermediate biking and then bring everyone down to a beginner speed or level, so that was a bummer for our experienced riders. We loved the Saloon, and honestly any chance we could get to be in the stables for rides. Cowboy cookout and line dancing was so fun! Already rebooked!

We had two adjoining rooms for our party of 6 that were very clean, beautifully appointed with very comfortable beds (including the two Murphy beds) and good quality linens. The staff in the dining room stood out as being the most friendly and attentive. We have visited Tanque Verde with our family at least four times and when I asked why our name did not appear on the Welcome Back sign outside the dining room, I was told it was because we did not choose their \"All Inclusive plan\" which did not sit well with me as we certainly spent our fair share of money while there. We enjoyed our trail rides, the mountain biking and the CowboyCookout which was the perfect way to end our trip. Having been to Tanque Verde in the past, I have to say that this time around we were disappointed in the dining room menu choices which we felt were very limited. If you plan to celebrate a special occasion and want to order from their bakery, make to sure to follow up! I did not and found out right before the surprise dessert was to be served that our daughter's birthday order was never received. All in all we had a wonderful time and beautiful weather....the perfect place for our family reunion.

Loved Team Penning, the Cowboy Cookout, Breakfast Ride and Sunset Ride in particular. This was my 3rd holiday here, and I'd definitely go back a 4th time. My favourite place to go.

Top notch resort, even out of season (summer in AZ). Access to the beauty and wildlife of the desert is first-rate. Saw my first gila monster after 20 years in AZ, lots of lizards, javelinas, great hiking, etc. Friendly desk crew and restaurant servers, excellent kitchen.

I was last at Tanque Verde 46 years ago.
What can I say, still has that old western charm about the place.
The staff are second to none, absolutely brilliant, so friendly.
Nothing is to much trouble for them.
I chose July, but it's very hot. ( My fault) When the number of guests goes below 50, there is no longer a buffet option at meal times. So lucky there where over 50 ladies, who come every year for quilting.
There are so many activities to do and to choose from, as I said just a little to hot for me and my nephew.
It was fantastic to go back to the Tanque Verde after so many years.
I would recommend trying the ranch lifestyle, but not in the hotter months as far to hot for most people.
I will definitely go back.

While we only stayed overnight, I could definitely see staying longer and getting a chance to enjoy the pool and hiking trails. The food at the restaurant is excellent. Would definitely recommend.

Staff were very friendly and attentive and always willing to help. The room was a good size but a bit dated and worn— furniture could definitely use an upgrade. The cast iron bed frames were nice, but not attached properly so every time your pillow pushed against it or you rolled over it clanged against the wall and woke us up. The ac in the room was locked so it couldn’t be set any lower than 68. But it was much warmer than that in the room, and even a sheet was too warm to sleep under.

Lovely Ranch Experience

We had an incredible stay at Tanque Verde Ranch. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and offered a beautiful view of the city - the perfect place to unwind after a day of adventure.

Every inch of the ranch feels truly authentic, from the charming decor and delicious food to the warm, welcoming staff and the stables full of beautiful horses. You really get the full ranch experience here.

We spent a lot of time enjoying the pool, which was lovely and refreshing. Dinner was very good, with the Chile Relleno standing out as an absolute highlight. The breakfast buffet was also delicious and had something for everyone.

The true highlight of our stay, though, was the morning kids club activity. Running from 7 am to 3 pm, it included horse riding, archery, clay making, water activities, and even breakfast and lunch. It was an incredible experience for our 9 year old - she absolutely loved it. The kids club leaders were all phenomenal, creating a fun, safe, and memorable environment.

Any time we find ourselves in Tucson, we would return to Tanque Verde Ranch just for this amazing kids club experience. We can’t recommend it enough!

It took us 24 hours to get from NY to Tucson due to travel issues. I'm not sure I'll ever try to get there again. As a result I was exhausted and unwell once I got there and lost $550 night stay. The activities seem plentiful but all the good ones are in the wee hours and I am not a morning person.

There is a restaurant on site and plenty of beautiful views to enjoy. I would say if you’re looking for something different and enjoy horses this is the place for you. Enjoyed our stay.

My grandparents came to this dude ranch annually in the 60's and early 70’s. Ive always been curious about the place and wanted to check it out. Our expectations were sky high and i was afraid this trip would be a letdown, but it was the opposite. It was the best family experience i could have imagined-- a dream come true. The ranch is so special and its history is so unique-- you can imagine exactly what it would have been like to visit back 200 years ago. It has that wild west vibe with cacti and dust and old historic structures, lodges, dining areas, and a cool, old bar-- all set in front of a dramatic backdrop of saguaro cacti and mountains. It's perfect! Our twins (age 5) attended the kids camp daily and LOVED it! They did every activity imaginable from horseback riding to tennis, fishing, swimming, and making crafts. While at the ranch, we did the breakfast ride, which was amazing and the breakfast was delicious. It was set up on picnic tables with red tablecloths at a dilapidated homestead surrounded by mountains and saguaro cacti! We did the cowboy cookout twice, which was fun and delicious! A band played and it was set out in an open field. i loved the hiking and horseback riding my husband enjoyed the mountain biking. At the end of the day, the pool is amazing and so is the bar! The food was great and varied with nightly menu changes. There is always a great kids menu. The staff and our overall experience was unforgettable! Long live tanque verde!

Well the surrounding property is beautiful. This is a very old establishment and over time it shows.
Our room was so small and one chair to sit in. There was a real wood fireplace. So the room wreaked of a campfire. Not my deal. Our bathroom was tiny tiny. No hooks l, no where to put our toiletries and the shower sucked. For the crazy high price of staying here it certainly is not worth it. And the food was very average. We had steak that was full of grizzle and very expensive.
We would never recommend Tanque Verde Ranch.

What an incredibly beautiful place! I am a local from Tucson and I was still impressed! The service was absolutely excellent on a par with a 5 star hotel. They have a gorgeous pool and hot tub both indoor and outdoor. We did a guided mountain bike ride and a guided horseback sunset walk and both were really fun. You really get the horse ranch experience with all the activities they offer. Our room was located in the original ranch building and was a bit small. The nature center there is small but mighty and the naturalist was incredibly knowledgable about everything desert. The Cowboy Cookout was really fun. Food was very good and there was live music with line dancing. My only complaint is that it is expensive. If you don't get the all inclusive expensive package then every activity costs a pretty penny. If you have the money this place is worth it!

Checked in to a room and the heat was on and in Arizona in the summer the temps can be over 100F I got that fixed by messing with thermostat. I was there for a function and got a room as I did not want to drive after drinking. I came back from the function and the room was at 81 F. I could not get the A/C to come on. Called the front desk and they do not have anyone at the front desk but talked to the guard. He told me to wait a few minutes and if it still was not working to call him back. The room was up to 82F I called and he said the best he could do would be to move me to another room. I was ok with that even though it meant 3 different trips to get my things moved. The new room was cool. I went to lock the dead bolt and it did not work. For security of customers I would think the dead bolt should work. The show had a used bottle of shampoo on the window sill and there was a huge piece of tile broken. Picked up the phone in the room and the receiver cord was not connected to the base. I tried to plug it back in but it was not the right cord for the phone. I called again to the guard and he told me he would let the front desk know in the morning. The front desk opens at 6:30a.m. I was there just a short time after opening. The young lad at the front desk was nice and apologized and said she would have the room charges sent back to the third party I booked with. I am still waiting to see the reverse charge on my credit card.
DO NOT book a room at this place.

Our Room in the Road Runner neighborhood was amazing and the view we had was incredible. We love the facility. The smell in the hallway at indoor pool was unpleasant. The Cowboy cookout is cool but wasn't worth what we paid as the flies enjoyed the food first. Musician was great but expected a band or hoe down. Overall disappointed with the food there. Ordered a steak medium and got well done on our breakfast inclusive asked for OM eggs got scrambled. The manager of course fixed my ticket but I wanted a nice breakfast. Breakfast buffet is always the same as when I've visited usually hard pancakes items sit too long before being changed out. Otherwise the resort is amazing, staff are very accomodating and friendly. They will pick you up and take you anywhere you liked to go. Please improve the food thats my only complaint. Also cowboy cookout I know they'll be flies but needs to be watched better as I declined some food because the flies were all over it. Thank you!

We have never been to a \"dude ranch, spa\" vacation. We had so much fun my 21 year old daughter was already asking if we can visit again! We did horseback riding every day. Probably would have gone twice a day! Visited the spa, did watercolors, guided hike at night, did pool time, there was so much to do we didn't get it all done. Our room was spacious and very clean. We had a coffee maker in the room as well as a mini fridge. One of the best vacations we have had in a while!

Beautiful family getaway

We booked a one-night stay as a last-minute family night in January 2024. The kids were a little bummed that there was no TV in the room! However, we came ready with some board games, there are also board games available throughout the property (Buena vista room and Saloon). They loved playing Yahtzee by the wood burning fire in our spacious room, while drinking hot chocolate (complementary drinks and snacks provided in Buena Vista Room). We also used the indoor pool and hot tub!
The service in Dog House Saloon was great! The kids were welcomed with fresh popcorn, games and a pool table.
We did a few hikes, the property is breath taking! We spoke with staff in the Nature Center, they were so informative and kind. We also pet the horses....so many amazing horses. We didn't do much else, since it was only one night. There are so many activities to choose from.
