Staff was great, room was good, but the shower did not have much hot water. The sink was very hot, so not sure why there wasn’t any in the shower, but it made it tough to shower! Other than that, the location was phenomenal, breakfast was great, and I would stay here again, if they can get the hot water figured out!

It's a budget offering so you need to set your expectations appropriately. Location was great, room was reasonable for the money. Bed was rather uncomfortable. You didn't get much in terms of shower washes. Just the one, that is supposed to be ok for washing body, hair and as a conditioner. I didn't get on with that.

Breakfast was overpriced so I skipped that.

Location near the main train station and on the edge of the old town was brilliant.

I would stay again because the general offering was perfectly fine for the price I paid. That bed though, yikes it was uncomfortable.

The ibis Nurnberg Hauptbahnhof accomplished what it needed to do. We had a convenient location to both the old city part of Nuremberg and the Christmas market, as well as the train station for day trips to multiple close by towns. The room was utilitarian... the bed was comfortable. One of us had breathing issues after using the shower, so we weren't sure if there were lingering allergens, perhaps due to various causes. The staff was a mix of very pleasant or simply direct but were responsive. All in all, the hotel accommodated our needs for the duration of our stay.

Abysmal Stay at Ibis Hotel
My recent experience at this Ibis hotel was a catastrophic failure. From the moment I checked in, I sensed a palpable disconnect between the staff and genuine hospitality.

The room was a mere afterthought, with a bathroom that seemed designed for utilitarian purposes rather than human comfort. It created an uninviting atmosphere and its compact size only exacerbated the sense of claustrophobia.

Checkout was a jarring conclusion to an already disappointing stay. Staff indifference and a lack of courtesy left a sour impression.

Critical Flaws
1. *Auditory Assault*: Inadequate soundproofing allowed external noise to ravage my sleep.

2. *Service Chasm*: Reception staff require radical overhaul to align with Ibis' customer service ideals.

3. Bathroom maintenance falls woefully short.

4. *Noise Abatement*: Upgrade window insulation or implement noise-reducing measures.

A Call to Action
Ibis, take heed: address these glaring issues to reclaim your reputation for excellence. Provide comprehensive customer service training and prioritize cleanliness and noise reduction. Only then can you restore trust with discerning travelers like myself.

1/5 stars: Unpleasant Stay

As a frequent traveler who has stayed at numerous Ibis hotels, I was disappointed by my recent experience at this hotel in Nürnberg Hauptbahnhof. The initial impression was very bad due to the unfriendly and unprofessional reception staff. Their behavior was unacceptable and made me question their suitability for customer service.

The room was average, but the bathroom required maintenance, with dents on the door frame and dirty shower walls. Furthermore, the bathroom was incredibly small, comparable to those found in airplanes.

However, the breakfast was acceptable thanks to Maria, the friendly and hospitable staff member in the breakfast area. Her warm smile and attentive service made a positive impact.

The worst part was during checkout. The staff ignored my greeting and failed to wish me a pleasant trip. Their behavior was unprofessional and disappointing.

Suggestions for Improvement:

1. Customer service training for staff, particularly the reception team.

2. Improved cleanliness and maintenance of the bathroom.

3. Ensuring friendly and professional service at all times.
I suggest that Maria, who demonstrated exceptional customer service skills, lead training sessions for the reception staff. Her positive attitude and hospitality would greatly enhance the overall guest experience.

As someone familiar with Ibis' standards, I hope this hotel takes my feedback seriously to improve their service.

The location is good and the rooms were clean. However, the description states this hotel has laundry \"facilities\" when in fact they only have very high priced laundry \"service\" which is not available on the weekends. It also states there is a bar, which is a joke. The word \"bar\" is painted on the wall in the lobby next to two self-serve refrigerators. The shower is barely larger than RV size. The beds don't actually have real mattresses but are more like futon cushions. I could go on. I would not recommend this hotel.

Hotel is in a great location very close to main station and old town. Room was clean but very basic. No drinking water or coffee making in room. Our sink only had hot water so cleaning teeth without cold water was unpleasant. For reference, the hotel does not have a bar…. It has a fridge with drinks in it that you pay at reception.

The location is great and the room was fairly clean. That’s where the positive stops. One has the feeling you’re walking down the hall in The Shining to get to your room. We were literally expecting the twin girls to pop up at any second walking down that hall. The room was small and the bathroom was tiny. There was no safe or refrigerator, but also not much room for either of them. Low water pressure in the shower and the water temperature was almost impossible to adjust. It was either scalding hot or cold. It took me over 5 minutes to get an acceptable temperature set up. The reception people weren’t very helpful and any friendliness they showed seemed forced, other than the girl working when we checked out, she was genuinely friendly. They even make you pay for coffee and tee in the lobby. I’ve never seen that before in a hotel. No coffee machine in the room either. I would only recommend this hotel to single travelers needing minimal amenities and a good location.

Although there is no-smoking sign on the door of the rooms, you can still smell smoke even when the door is closed. I have seen so many people smoking right in front of the hotel. The air HVAC system is just not efficient enough to filter the air properly.
The rooms and washrooms are really small compared to other hotels.
The hotel staff messd up my reservation, they cancelled my reservation wihtout my prior consent. They did not even send me a notification or nothing at all. Instead they kept a booking that was not even made by me. I had to wait till after 8:30 ish in the morning to be able to get breakfast because of their incompetency.
I am never going back to this hotel and would advise everyone to stay away from this property.

Staff were brilliant, really helpful and friendly. Room was fine, great bed, pillows a bit soft (but that's a personal thing!) Good shower, decent hairdryer. Plenty of sockets for charging phones etc. Breakfast was good. Hotel is a great location - 5 mins from station, easy to find, great transport nearby, walkable to the heart of the city. Liked the bar area in the foyer - very handy for a coffee/beer.

The hotel is in an ideal location for traveling by train or bus and being able to walk to lodging. It was also ideal for walking to the Christkindlmarkt and shopping and dining. Our room was small; it was clean and the bed was comfortable. No frills. I would have liked to have a bathmat (we used the handtowel to stand on after showering). I missed not having a hot water cooker to make tea and coffee and missed not having a small refrigerator.

Overall a very well located hotel near the central train station. Well within reach to food and transport. We arrived over the very quiet Christmas period so not much luck with food options.

Hotel staff were very helpful and accommodating. Cheapest hotel on-site parking I paid during my Germany trip. Had to switch rooms once due to air-conditioning issue. Breakfast was better than expected and the breakfast server lady was fantastically efficient.

So very CONVENIENT! Right opposite the train station, they have on-site parking, just opposite is the old city... Tonnes to shops and restaurants within strolling distance. They just need to encourage guests to smoke further away from the main entrance, otherwise lobby can be smoky.

This ibis was really a pleasant surprise. It was very near to the central station and the city center. And for me, the best thing was that my room was very, very quiet and I could sleep very well. Just be aware that the room (and specially the bathroom) are small. For sure, I would stay over there again.

I’m a loyal Ibis customer with repeated stays in Vienna, Lausanne, London, and long stays in Singapore, and Tokyo.

My perception is that this property has a rating higher than it should be simply because the property is due for a refresh.

It was clean, the staff were very friendly, which is a something extremely important for any business traveler. I cannot overstate how pleased I was with the staff and how they calmly and very efficiently dealt with a computer failure that impacted the electronic door keys - Kudos to the staff for minimizing the inconvenience for everyone!

My frame of reference for a top notch Ibis is their Wien Hauptbahnhof property, followed by Singapore and Lausanne.

With a refresh I’d give this property an even higher rating.

This hotel would have been great except the shut down the air conditioner making the room uncomfortable and the windows faced the street. When told this was a problem the said to ask for a room in the rear ahead of time. That did not help. I am not happy about that answer.

I would have given 5 stars all around but weather was warmer than normal. Was informed AC was not available until May. Even with both windows open at night, we were very hot. The hotel was nice, clean and ,otherwise, comfy. Staff were nice. Even with windows open, the noise of city was not bad at all. The lady that kept up with our room most the visit was very sweet and helpful. Amazed at how well she kept the room up!

A friendly center to this city

The Ibis hotel is in a great, great location- close to the train station and close to the entrance of the old city. Rooms basic but clean and efficient. Friendly staff and check-in. The long hallwas give a monastic atmosphere. There is a desk but IBIS seems not believe in lights above it for work or reading. breakfast was very good but there is a problem clearing dishes from the tables and it gives a negative impression in a very crowded situation.

Location is close to the train station and the old city. Loved the convenience of being able to walk 5 minutes and be at the train station or a short walk to all the sites. Definitely will stay here again.
The taxi stand is right across the street so sometimes you would here random honking at all hours of the night. Since it is off of a major street there is a lot of traffic (sirens, trucks) so be careful when crossing the road to the train station.
The staff overall was great. Sometimes the friendliness of the night staff was hit or miss, but they were never rude, just acted as if they were being bothered. Shower is small, but typical for European budget hotels. Not a complaint, just for awareness. The hotel also posted any time there would be disruptions in services...in this case two of our nights we had no water from Midnight-6:00am due to construction outside the hotel. Had to sleep with the windows open since the AC control didn't seem to work. Our room looked over the parking lot so some nights you would hear yelling (drunks) and bottles clanging.
