This hotel is in a great location, right near the colluseum, but resonably hard to find!

The rooms are so uncomfortable as the put two single bed frames and mattresses next to each other and a sheet of them, we ended up waking up around 7 times a night just to push the beds back together as we would fall through the middle! Also there was no tv.

Very nice people but it was honestly a very uncomfortable stay for us.

Average In A Good Way

Seriously; a \"4.3\" average rating for this hotel? Don't get me wrong. I didn't have any sort of bad experience. In fact, everything was just fine. It's just a classic \"average\" hotel in pretty much every way. It's pretty much a 3 with a couple of extra digits to the right of the decimal point because it has no tangible negatives.

great and honest staff who provide you with maps, directions, tips how to move around the city, rooms has themes and names *Cute!* we got Aqua nice and clean room, but rather than an hotel is an appartment on the second floor of the building wich you need access from inside or keys,, and staff is only available few hours on the morning, then you are on you own, nothing wrong with the place is just a different experience than staying in a hotel

Fantastic Location, Accomodation and Staff

FYI get in contact with Diana a couple weeks before to confirm when you are arriving so someone is there to greet you. Her emails went into my junk mail, but luckily I found them in time!

Arriving at the hotel it was hidden as a traditional Italian Apartment (the gentleman in the shop next door luckily knew to buzz us up to the apartment). We were greeted by Francesco who could not have been nicer. He greeted us by the door, and sent us up to the first floor where the hotel is. He gave us a map of Rome and became our personal tour guide telling us what to see in the 5 days we were there for, and a good history lesson too (which after our flight and needing the toilet went a little bit over our heads). We paid the city tax and then he gave us the keys to the apartment and room.

We were in the Earth Room which was green, everything was clean and tidy. We had a kettle and two mugs and some teabags (you need to buy milk but there is a shared fridge which we were allowed to use). The only downside was the bed was a bit hard and that we had 1 1/2 pillows each (of course that is no problem for those who like hard beds and only 1 pillow). There was a blanket i'm sure we could have put under the bedding to make it softer and asked for an extra pillow but we didn't think of that at the time and was definitely not a deal breaker. There is a simple hairdryer in the bathroom and also a spare plug adapter which was very handy!

Unacceptable. Air Conditioning didn't work well

Room was basic but functional. Bed, tables, closet. I stayed here three days and air conditioning was not functioning properly at all the entire stay. I told the owner/manager, he'd come and play with the remote control but made no difference. After sightseeing for hours in Rome's blistering July heat and humidity then coming back to my room tired, hot and sweaty only to be in a warm room that never went below 28 to 30 C (82F to 86F) was unacceptable. Additionally, there is no TV in room and wifi didn't always function. No way I'd stay here again. Better hotels around.

Highly recommend!

This place was really great. We took a 16 day trip through Italy and this was the best place we stayed by far. Diana is incredibly helpful and accommodating. The location is amazing because it was a short walk to the Colosseum and metro. There's also a small store next door so we bought fresh fruit every morning. The room was very modern and clean. I had absolutely no complaints about this place. I highly recommend it.

Your ideal home in Rome

It was my first time in Rome and I was unfamiliar with the city. Diana helped us from the moment I got out of the train at Roma Termini. She guided us to the location with appropriate directions.

The check-in process was smooth, transparent and cordial. A gentleman received us and I owe our complete Rome experience to him. He laid out a travel plan for us to visit all the important places in Rome as per our schedule and sketched the routes on a map which he made for us. I can't thank him enough!

The rooms were gorgeous and exactly as per the images; very classy, elegant and clean. There were ample towels and the sheets were clean. The whole experience was wonderful. The building is located in a central yet quiet part of the city. It's a lovely building with great eating options around and some supermarkets and stores to pick up essentials.

Even though, there is no breakfast included in the price, Diana made coffee and croissants for us every morning. That was really nice of her. She is a darling and she takes utmost concern in her guests'comfort. I couldn't find any warmer host in our whole trip!

Your place in Rome

We loved our stay at Domus Diana. Francesco gave us a lot of information when we arrived and the owner, Diana, was very friendly too. Every morning they had an espresso and a croissant ready for us. The rooms are in an apartment that has been turned into a B&B. It' s great for independant travellers, near the Colosseum and also in walking distance of Termini train station. There is no big sign outside, just a huge wooden entrance door and the name of the B&B on the door bell. I will stay there again if I come back to Rome

Worst \"non\" Stay Ever.

We did not actually stay at Domus Diana. We had made & paid for 3 nights, 3 months before our arrival. I tried several times to contact before leaving for Europe without success. Finally, we were able to connect on the day of our planned arrival (while in transit) & were told we didn't have reservations & they were toltally booked.Only after giving the confirmation info AND saying we paid upfront did they \"find\" our reservation but again said there were no rooms BUT they would find us another place & call back. They did test back in a few minutes with a new location which was distant from the original. When we said \"OK for one night but we expected to be in Domus Diana the nest 2 they first said \"no room at the inn\" & THEN changed their tune saying it was impossible because Asbestos removal work was beginning the next day.
We ended up at the substitute place with was definitely NOT up to what was advertised by Domus Diana. In a scary, marginal neighborhood & not near anything we were planning. VERY BAD BUSINESS PROCESS & being lied to is totally unacceptable.

A perfect place to stay close to everything you could want the welcome was brilliant with the gentleman going through the whole map of Rome from a locals point of view making sure we saw the best bits of Rome. Do not expect normal hotel experience but expect clean comfy rooms and a great attitude from staff and owner. Could not fault in any way

Nice stay for the price

the bed was incredibly hard. The room is very clean and neat. the couple who run the place are very good at helping you out with where to go and how to get there and what to see. They do not serve breakfast. They will give you a pre-packaged croissant and some instant coffee. It's walking distance to the Coliseum and easy to take the metro. Buy a multi-day pass because it's quite expensive otherwise.
Yhe pasta carbonara at Osteria Angelino on via Campo de Africa Road within walking distance is the best meal I had in room.
you have no view from this hotel but it was very safe.

Really lovely people, clean room

Arriving at the Domus Diana we received a very warm welcome from there we were given map of Rome and advised of all the places to see, this was invaluable to our trip as we were able to see lots of things we otherwise wouldn't have. The room was a decent size and very clean and was in a good location if you don't mind a good walk. The only tiny negative was that it was very noisy from about 7.30-8 every morning, so a lay in was difficult but it gave us plenty of time to see everything!!

Domus Diana was a nice place to stay

We stayed for 3 nights beginning 4/22/15. We were able to walk from the Rome Terminal to the hotel, so it was quite convenient that way. We were not sure of the exact time of arrival as we were taking a train in from the port and didn't know how long the walk would be to the B & B.The owner was not there when we arrived and nobody understood English. After about 1/2 hour, Diana showed up and told us that we owed her 3.5 Euros per day for some tax (?) and we had to pay her 21 Euros right then. We were not told that there was a tax that had to be paid there. She was helpful with directions. We never saw her again. The room was clean and bright. We had to go out for coffee and breakfast. We would book there again.

Beautiful, charming little B&B!

We spent 3 nights at Domus Diana and absolutely enjoyed our stay there! The rooms are cute, charming, and clean, and the location is just within minutes walk to a centrally located train station. Diana is a wonderful host and prepared for us delicious Italian expresso when we were there. :) We would highly recommend this place to anyone, and would return to stay there if we ever visit home again. :)

Domus Diana - a perfect base for a visit to Rome

The house is well situated and easy to find from Termini Station in a pleasant part of the city, very well situated for a short walk to many historic sites, particularly the Colosseum and Palatine Hill. We were made to feel very welcome and given plenty useful information on our arrival. Although breakfast is not listed as included, Diana was kind enough to provide us with coffee and a croissant each morning of our stay. The room we had (the Fire Room) was decorated in a colourful and interesting style and was ideal for a romantic break. We were very comfortable and had more than enough storage space available - very happy with our choice!

Perfect for a short city break

Situated within walking distance of the heart of Rome the Domus is the perfect place to stay for a short break in Italy's capital. Upon arrival we were greeted by Francesco who spoke English fluently and was very knowledgeable about the history and culture of the local area. We found our room to be very clean and comfortable and was everything we needed as a base to explore this beautiful city. Even a quick espresso and a croissant each morning before we headed out to explore. Would definitely stay here again.

Great decor, v. comfortable. Just bring earplugs!

The decor is amazing, and everything in the rooms are well thought out. Location is very good too. Diana gave us lots of information about touring the city. The only criticism is the bed & breakfast is a little miss-sold as you don't get breakfast - Unless you class a yoghurt in the fridge as breakfast, and the walls are incredibly thin! You can hear everyone talking in their rooms and everything is so loud from your room. Earplugs are a must!

central located hotel

This is a great B& B that is very centrally located to the train stations and Colosseum with lots of local restaurants around it.

We arrived on Thursday evening and were greeted by Franceso at the front desk who was an amazing guide and will tell you all the history and best places to go in Rome, he is very very knowledgeable!

The rooms were modern and nice and great for a short break.
There is a fantastic italian restautant called Ristorante Pizzeria da Michele around the corner which we went to 2 nights in a row for some of the best pasta and tiramsu. Its very popular with the locals. and there is a great bakery across the road called Panella which is popular for and breakfast and all day patisserie and nibbles. Highly recommend it.

Great apartments close to Colosseum

We stayed for three nights here while we were in Europe travelling around for four weeks. We walked there from Roma Termini train station with no issues (took us around 15-20 minutes with big backpacks).

Can be difficult to find at first as this is not a hotel; it's a series of apartments in a townhouse so there is no street signage (make sure you take the address with you when you first arrive!); you will need to read through a list of tenants in the building and press the buzzer labelled 'Domus Diana' where you will then be buzzed in, get buzzed in through another door by a courtyard and go up a flight of stairs to the reception area. Man on reception was very friendly and helpful with places we should visit while in Rome.

Room was fantastic; beautiful decor, double glazed windows, good signal wi-fi. Bathroom a little small (not a bad thing, but means your knees are quite close to the opposite wall when you sit down on the toilet!).

We more or less kept to ourselves as we had already planned out our key activities in Rome, but we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We are quite active people so we skipped using the metro/busses and just walked everywhere. The longest we had to walk was around 40 minutes to the Vatican City.

When we left, we just took a train from Roma Termini to Fiumicino Airport - really easy! More expensive than bus but faster (bus takes around 55 mins, train around 30 mins and are more frequent).

Fantastic B&B close to the coliseum.

Perfect location for sightseeing all of Rome, all the staff we came into contact with were so nice and helpful ,nothing was to much trouble, Franchesco ( sorry if I spelt wrong) especially, so willing and passionate about where and what to see, we did things that weren't on our to-do list on his recommendation and we were so glad we did.

The location was great-near the Coliseum. Good restaurants and grocery stores around. It is a real italian home. Felt like locals at some point. The windows of the room faced the street and it was quite noisy all night long. That was the only minus.
The host was very nice and talkative, spoke very good English and gave us a good outline of where to go and what to do. We never had breakfast there but I heard they provide coffee and toast in the morning.
The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We may consider this place again if we were to go back to Rome.

10 mins from termini & colesium

Great place to stay. Extremely clean, new towels every day. Breakfast very basic but too be honest the amount you eat at other meal times it's more than sufficient. If you book view in Google Earth to help you find. Large doorway next to a trattoria and tiny supermarket. Diana great host who doesn't hesitate to help you. Recommend Ornelli to eat on main street, good food and welcoming staff

Perfect little spot for our short tour di Roma

Great hosts with fantastic suggestions for seeing the eternal city in just 48 short hours. great room too (we stayed in Aqua). Location was spot on; walking distance to the train and the coliseum! 2 downsides - 1) wifi was spotty (read: non existent) in our room, but great in the kitchen/\"lobby\" area. 2) we were asked to pay in cash when we arrived, \"if it wasn't a problem.\"

I appreciate the small business owner so we did, but we were pretty perplexed (and still need to ensure our credit card wasn't charged...eek!). Not too big of a deal but carrying around the huge key ring with 4 keys AND a steel/iron key card got a little annoying.

But this is the \"price\" of charm I suppose :)

Stay away really !

This is not close to a hotel the place is shady and the lady is never there, I did my reservation months ago one we got to Rome we took a cab and arrived around midnight for the check in , it turns out it is not a hotel just rooms somebody rents and by the way nobody was there to open the door. After calling the number this lady just said \"I'm sorry but you are too late I'm far and I'm not going\" so me and my wife had to look up for a hotel at 2 AM carrying all our luggage in a neighborhood we don't know. Stay away from this place.

Lovely little hotel in a brilliant location

Domus Diana is a lovely little hotel in a great location - ten minute walk to the station (Termini) and the Coleseum. We walked everywhere from here apart from the Vatican where we used the bus (20 mins) at Termini to get to it.

Hotel is lovely - very clean and bit different to your standard chain hotel.

Staff are lovely - guy on reception very helpful and have us a lot of information on where to go .

We will definitely be staying there again.

Great location, wonderful host.

Domus Diana was chosen off the internet and we were not disappointed. Many great eating places on the streets around the hotel, Diana's english was very good, many major tourist attractions very close, the train station within 800m and when there was an opera rehearsal just leave your window open. If you like to walk then The Pantheon and other attractions were available. The bus service to areas such as The Catacombs is just down the road. Highly recommended.

Great location and value !

This little B&B is so close to the Termini main train station. The Colosseum and other attractions are minutes away. There is a convenient store right at the door of the hotel and a lot of restaurants on the main street a couple of minutes away. We were received with a warm welcome when we arrived and were given a map of Rome. The gentleman who checked us in, took the time to circle and explain all of the attractions so see during our stay. There is no real breakfast in the morning, however miss Diana offered us coffee and croissants in the morning. Our room was clean and every day we got fresh towels and our bed was made. Our room was at the back of the hotel and there was a lot of noise in the courtyard bellow until at least midnight. If you are a light sleeper you might have a hard time falling asleep. All in all, we were happy with our stay and would definitely stay here again.

Great Location and Fantastic Service

Our stay was excellent. After reading other reviews on Hotels.com about this hotel we decided to book Domus Diana and we are so pleased we did. The location was great, just turn left out of the appointment, walk to the end of the road and then you enter a park - a short walk through the park and wow you are at the Colosseum and not far from all the other tourist sites in Rome. Diana the owner was superb, couldn't do enough for you. We were not being picked up for the airport until 2.15pm for the journey home and unfortunately could not leave our cases at the hotel and we wanted to fit in one last tour before leaving but Diana allowed us to leave our cases at her family hotel which was about a 10 minute walk from this hotel and she even telephoned the airport shuttle company for me to re-organise the pick up point. It is made very clear in the description on Hotels.com that breakfast was not included so I do not know why there were a couple of negative reviews regarding this and the fact that there was only coffee and a croissant available for breakfast in the morning - Diana provided this at no extra cost if you so wanted I would definitely recommend this hotel and we have already decided that if we return to Rome which I hope we will some day we will definitely be booking this hotel again.

Cozy little gem

We had the \"red room\", it was clean, cozy and spacious. Free wifi with fabulous internet speed.. Window is not sound-proof, but you don't really get to hear much noise during the night. Location is good, roughly 5-7 minutes of walk to the nearest metro station. There's no breakfast option, but you get this so called complimentary coffee/tea + cake/croissant, very simple. You either take it or leave it. We enjoyed the place, so the overall experience was pleasant. Oh ya, and Diana is extremely friendly and helpful! :)

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel which is very clean and comfortable and very handy to the Colosseum. The room was biger than expected and we had good bathroom with plenty of hot water. No TV but that is no problem. Good WiFi access.
Diana was very helpful and accommodating - making breakfast and providing good tourist info.

A great place to stay to explore Rome

I couldn't fault the hotel at all, particularly Diana's service. The rooms have everything you need and are bright and clean. The b&b is in a great location for the coliseum and forum but it's probably worth getting a bus or the metro for the other sights as you'll probably be doing a lot of walking around anyway. One point is that the walk from the station to the hotel, particularly after dark, can be a bit dodgy so it might be worth jumping in a cab late at night. We had a wonderful stay and would stay here again if we return to Rome

No service at all!

When we arrived in Rome we had issues with getting a bus from the airport into town as the buses were full so arrived an hour after we estimated, however we didnt think this would be a problem as it was only 3pm. We struggled to find the hotel due to lack of signage and when we did find it, the doors were locked and no one was there to let us in. A neighbour helped us out and rang Diana who then growled at us for being late. We had to wait another 15min before someone came to let us in. When I booked the room, I requested 2 twin beds as I was traveing with a friend however this was not followed and there was no staff around to ask it to be sorted. I found the lack of service here terrible. No one was ever around to ask advice about the best places to eat or visit in Rome. This place also adevertised as a B&B, although breakfast was not offered

Overall good service and a warm comfortable room. Some small considerations would have made it excellent. Window blinds fell off the rail, caught in my clothes and didn't keep the light out. The red centre light was awful and made everything difficult to see. Tea and sugar provided - but no spoon! Kettle wouldn't fit under the tap. A TV in the room would have been great.

Domus Diana (rooms for rent)

First of all, Domus Diana is not a hotel, it is a place where they rent rooms, it does not have television nor a telephone, the rooms are comfortable and clean but there is no one there except when you arrive and when you leave. They give you a key to enter the building and the apartment. They offer coffee, yogurt and croissant that you can pick up in a room next to the entrance. If you leave your key by any chance you have to call and the person will come from another place to open for you, if you are a traveler and do not carry a phone it is an inconvenience. Diana and her associate are nice but not much more can be said since we only spoke to them twice, We stayed for two nights and came back for another two nights. For a little more you can find a hotel with all the amenities of a hotel.

This is not really a hotel but rather a block of private condos. The rooms are very nice and well maintained. They have all the amenities you would expect in any hotel (except for the TV). However, free WI-FI and a common kitchen area stocked with all kinds of goodies make up for that. You feel more like you are staying at someone's house rather than renting a room. The place is not very well marked. You have to find the building and ask for Domus Diana (if your Italian is rusty, you should still be OK). Don't expect a receptionist manning the front desk 24x7. There is someone who lives in the building that comes down and helps you with the check-in. The location, however, is great. It is within 10 minutes of Coliseum (walking) and not far from many other attractions.

Domus Diana was a great spot to be in. It's in a building that is more like an apartment than a hotel, so it really felt like we were living in Rome rather than visiting. The room was clean with great funky decor. Diana was a great help and very informative. My only complaint is the noise level on the street. It was hard to sleep at night without earplugs, but I am a very light sleeper.

Great little base in Rome

We really enjoyed our stay at Domus Diana. We were met upon arrival and kindly shown to our rooms, provided with information and a map. The apartment is located in a traditional apartment block in a quiet area near the Colosseum. Being part of a large building located on a road, you do get noise from neighbours and traffic but nothing too bad. The apartments themselves are bright, clean, spacious and modern - we were in the aqua room - and have plenty of facilities, including a powerful shower! Diana provides information, support and a basic breakfast each day except Sundays, which we were very grateful of. The location is about 5-10 min walk to the Colosseum and the metro line and we had no complaints about its location. I'm just not sure it was worth 100 euros a night..

Think of it as a hostel for adults

I chose to stay at Domus Diana for our last two nights in Rome after nearly two weeks visiting Umbria, Tuscany and Venice. I was looking for a good value without having to stay outside of the city. The price was right. The hosts are helpful, the amenities are minimal and the rooms are spare. My disappointment centered on what wasn't available either in our room or the tiny shared space: no radio or television or phone, wireless only available in the shared area, illumination in the room poor (we were unable to read by the light of the bedside sconces). Gloriously, there was an air conditioning unit in the room. The a/c was very nice to come \"home\" to at the end of a hot day in Rome.

This was a real gem of a find -- super close to sights (10 min walk to Colosseum and Forum complex), the train station, and metro stops on both lines; very reasonably priced; clean, quiet, completely adorable rooms; free wifi; in-room AC and thermostat; very helpful staff; and with a very comfortable atmosphere. I highly recommend it, and it will be the first place I look to stay the next time I'm in Rome.

Rooms are cleaned daily; good simple breakfast provided with great coffee. We had the red fire room; it is on the street and was a bit noisy at night with some road works or rubbish collection but that cannot be helped. Very good size room for 2 people and modern bathroom. Recommended!

The hotel was very nice and accomodating. Wifi did not work all the time in the room but there is a common area where we went and it worked great. The surrounding area can get a little loud at night but I felt it was tolorable They served a great coffee with some pastries in the morning and Diana was very nice. Would stay there again.

The place is very beautiful and clean. The rooms are clean. The beds are hard as rocks. They do not accept credit/debit cards and didn't warn me of this until checkout. I had to run around to collect all the cash with one hour to make my train. I saw another couple going through the same stress. They only provided one set of keys; there were three of us in a room. Two of us got locked out with no way to get into the place on two different occasions.

Not a hotel or B&B but brilliant

This is not hotel or B&B accommodation, it's basically an old apartment and there isn't anyone manning the desk 24 hours a day, but you can come and go as you please as you are provided with a set of keys on arrival. The rooms are very secure, the location is superb. In a lovely neighbourhood in Rome and it's a five minute walk to the Colosseum. You have your own room with your own keys and private bathroom/shower and usual room facilities. However, there is a shared kitchen you can use to cook food, make drinks but we didn't really use it we eat out. The standard of the room is brilliant, it's been decorated to a really good standard, it's clean and the shower is excellent (very powerful!). Diana is lovely, very friendly and helpful. The accommodation is very difficult to find, please try and plan how to get there before you arrive, Rome was very hot and it was hard work slugging our suitcases through the cobbled streets trying to find the accommodation. Excellent cafes and bars near the hotel, we would recommend in particular Bar Orneilli which does fantastic pizzas and great service.

We stayed in Rome for 4 nights during an unusually cold & wet May. Diana & her staff were most helpful with anything we needed, provided a map & even made sure I knew that the Pope would be saying Mass in the next street that evening. Very thoughtful. More a B&B than a hotel, consisting of 4 rooms with bathrooms & a shared kitchen for a light breakfast (coffee, croissants, jam, milk, toast & or bread provided in the cost of the room,) & simple cooking facilities to cook your own meals. Our room had a view of a typical European private courtyard, also handy for smokers. The building is behind a massive locked door that opens onto the street, but the neighbourhood is quite safe & family friendly, with a choice of eateries that generally cater to the locals. 2 blocks from the Colosseum, which we walked to through a lovely park:ancient ruins to the left, to the right, students sleeping in the warm late afternoon, parents with children, nuns & dog owners taking their pets for a walk. Our room was a little dark, but that could be partly due to the gloomy weather. We spent little time there so it didn't bother us. We had free wifi, which was mostly reliable for our needs. There is a bus top on the corner of the street, a letterbox opposite the bus stop & walking distance to shopping. The historic attractions are spread over the city, making it very, very good walk to see them all, so use the Metro if you can handle the stairs down to it, or use the buses.

Housekeeping was excellent and the location was perfect. The neighborhood was conducive to quiet (for Rome) evening walks with reasonable access to transportation and neighborhood restaurants. We stayed 3 nights in Rome .Diana was very helpful and professional . Domus Diana is very centrally located could really walk (about an hour) to most of the places of interest. The metro is also very close by 10 min walk. The Room/toilet excellent . The room we stayed in was very restful. The little kitchen et was very well equipped with a fridge, stove , sink, a few pans cutlery and basic crockery . The small grocery store right next to DD makes life even easier ! will recommend DD highly.

This place was not what we expected at all. Apart from when we checked in we didn't see any staff or have any assistance. This would have been helpful when the alarms were going off late one night. We wouldn't classify this as a hotel given the lack of facilities yet the price was what you would expect to pay for a reasonable hotel. The location was very good however it was very noisy given that we had a room near the road.

Great home outside of home

The hotel was in superb location - just minutes walk to Coliseum, 5 min walk to metro station (Vittorio Emanuelle Station), in the heart of Rome. It's located in the old apartment building (possibly from early to mid 20th century), with beautiful architecture. All the rooms were renovated recently and decorated in a modern/ futuristic fashion. We stayed in \"Aqua\" room which was lovely and spacious. It overlooked the street. We didn't personally used the kitchen too much, but there is fridge available for use, cook top, espresso maker, and some snacks.

It's not listed on expedia website, but there is free WI-FI in the hotel, which was great! The signal isn't too strong, though. Our room was the furthers room from the reception/ kitchenette area, and sometimes the signal would be too weak to get to our room, but we could always get the signal w/o problems in the kitchen.

Diana was super helpful and on top of things.

Finally, if you stay in Domus Diana make sure that you eat in Trattoria Morgana located in the same building downstairs - amazing Roman food. And have morning coffee and pastry in Panella - it's on the corner across the street from a theater on the corner - delicious!

We'll be definitely staying at Domus Diana next time we come back to Rome!

Perfect room but disappointed with the service

The room was perfect, very comfortable especially after a long day walking around Rome. Very clean and modern. There was a bit of noise from the theatre opposite the hotel but that didn't stop us from getting a good night's sleep. The shared kitchen was very useful. However the service we recieved was terrible. We didn't even meet the owner, the only communication we had with what we think were members of staff but may have just been some friends or family of hers was when we were shown to our room and when someone came to pick up the money for the room. If I hadn't text the owner of the hotel the night before we left to arrange payment I don't know how she would have taken it. I chose this hotel for the reviews saying that the owner was great and helpful when giving advice on getting around Rome and where to go etc. Unfortunately I never got to see that side of the service. Other than that the room was perfect and the location is great, five minutes to the Colleseum and five minutes to the Metro which is the best way to get around.

My wife and I stayed for 5 nights. The hotel was a bit difficult to find at first because there is no sign hanging outside - keep an eye out for the house number. The receptionist spoke little English, but enough to communicate the important things. He was friendly and helpful. The room was well decorated and all of the amenities worked well (our room did not have an iron/ironing board combo), except for the hairdryer which had been glued to the lowest setting by a previous occupant. The room was tended to daily - I say \"tended to\" because it was not necessarily cleaned. The garbage was emptied and the toilet paper and tiny packets of shampoo/body wash replenished, but that's it. The floors were very dusty for the duration of our stay, but otherwise the room was very clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the comforter soft and warm. Wifi is only available in the lounge. One downside is that noise travels very well in this hotel, so it was quite noisy in the morning. On the upside, the location of the hotel was great and is in close proximity to lots of sites and Metro stations - a 10 minute walk from Termini, 10 minute walk from the Colosseum. There are good restaurants and cafes nearby as well. If you are looking for something more than a bed, table, toilet and shower on your vacation, then this is not the place for you.

Lovely little hotel. Very convenient to the Colleseum and most other areas. We never got to meet Diana but the other workers were very helpful. One criticism would be that the room we were in was a bit noisy in the mornings with passing traffic. Lovely restaurants down stairs and across the road.

BEAUTIFUL!!

Such a BEAUTIFUL place to stay. I loved the neighborhood and the rooms were BEAUTIFUL and incredibly clean. Comfy bed. :-) Diana was a GEM. We adored her as well as the maid on staff. They were both incredibly friendly, helpful and accomodating. When you arrive you will see 2 huge locked wooden doors...there is a call button to the right. Look for Domus Diana and then hit the button for them to buzz you in. You will get keys to all of the doors after you arrive. WE WILL DEFINITELY STAY HERE AGAIN!!!!! Thank you Diana!!!!!!!! Amazing hidden gem!

The hotel is conveniently located near the termini station and there's a metro stop around 5 minutes away. It's in a lovely little neighbourhood and part of a very secure apartment block. You'll find plenty of bars, restaurants and shops nearby but we didn't eat in them. We enjoyed walking round all the little back streets and finding quiet, non touristy places where the food and drink is half the price.

Back to the hotel, we were welcomed by Diana's friendly cleaner who showed us to our room and did a superb job of looking after our room every day. We had clean towels every day although one day we had no towels left but a phone call to Diana on the mobile she leaves you quickly sorted this out. The rooms are modern, spacious and very clean and I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a reasonably priced stay for fantastic standards.

Thanks Diana for a pleasant stay! Your hotel definitely made our trip more special.

The accommodations were nice and modern and right around the corner from a street with restaurants and stores etc. They also provided a map of Rome and told us about what subways to take to get places etc which was very helpful.

When we arrived, it was difficult to figure out where to go because it is basically an apartment building, however, Marco, the building porter called Diana, the hotel-apartment owner-manager, who let us in. We did not know what to expect until we went into the place. It is basically one big apartment that has been turned into a hotel by separating the rooms and installing full bathrooms for every room. The rooms themselves are large, comfortable, clean, airy, with modern furnishings. The bathrooms have new modern fixtures and are equally clean. The huge plus was the A/C in the room. It was 90 degrees plus outside everyday we were in Rome, and having A/C in the room was wonderful. Food in the shared kitchen area available to all guests no extra charge including bread, pastries, yogurt and coffee for breakfast. Rooms were cleaned and towels replaced daily. Diana was very helpful in pointing us to the city's attractions, transportation, and dining options. Rome's red metro line has a station 3 blocks away and it stops at most tourist areas. It is not a \"hotel\" hotel, don't expect someone at the front desk at all times. It is more like staying at a friend's place who gave you the keys to their cool apartment. There is a cell phone available at the common area that you can use to call Diana when she's not around and she will gladly help you with anything you need (get you a taxi to the airport for example). For the price this place was great. Cash only, plan ahead

Great room, but...

In looking at past positive reviews, we decided to try a hotel that was not part of a chain. The room was clean, modern, and close to everything. The only problem is the theater across the street, We are not sure if it is a nightly issue, but we were awoken (once at 1:30 a.m.) up two nights in a row to loud cheering and screams as the dancers exited the building. I wouldask for room not facing the street. My children had a room off of the street and they never heard anything.

Had just a super time. Diana herself greeted us and checked us in. Incredibly helpful with our sight seeing and the best ways to get around. Hotel was Spartan by what some look for (no TV, no Wi-Fi) but very comfortable and very clean, if your life depends on internet almost all bars and restaurants have wi-fi and there are tons internet cafes and it's cheap. In a great neighborhood close to a lot of sights and very close to Metro and train stations. Great food all around you and a wonderful quiet villa style. What you get for what you pay, can't be beat.

Close by Colosseum, clean, friendly service

Domus Diana was a positive experience. Diana was helpful and friendly and the location was really nice (5 mins walk from Colosseum and metro station, you can easily walk also to all the main attractions if you want a bit of exercise - the city center is surprisingly compact). Termini station is 10 mins walk away, and although that area (Termini) is considered rightfully a bit dodgy, by the time you get to Via Merulana and Via Mecenate, that area is a lot cleaner and safer, to my observation and experience. The room was clean and newly renovated & decorated, and the bathroom too (really important to me!). Cleaning lady came every morning for vaccuuming, bathroom touchup and clean towels. There is a common kitchen area where you can cook, eat and store some groceries in a small fridge that is shared between a couple of other rooms. If your budget is tight, Diana provides some bread and coffee for free for breakfast. I was really happy - the only minus for me was the mattress that was harder than what I am used to, but regardless was able to sleep well in it. I would highly recommend - great value for quality service. Would stay there again if ever went back to Rome.

Hôtel Diana in Rome

The positive thing of this hotel is that it's clean, only 10 min's walk from the colisée, and the host is quite nice.
BUT the price is way to expensive for such a small ''hotel'' (it's not a real hotel). no tv, no bath tube, no breakfast, no wifi (that's really inconvenient when u travel...)
and the hotel doesn't accept the card, u have to pay in cash which is not practical...
Anyway, i don't really recommend this hotel unless u don't have any other choices.
