No email response on early check in request - door locked and only able to get in within 2-5pm.
Room was located 3 metres from reception so was v noisy with guests arriving/leaving.
No physical keys provided - access by electronic keypad - due to a power outage I was unable to access the hotel - this is ridiculous. I had to bang on windows until another guest opened the door for me during a storm event. No communication from the hotel during or after. This is not acceptable.

No staff. Sheets on bed were not clean, windows and screens need a good clean along with curtains. No hand towels supplied, washing machine not working and n toilet roll holder missing and not replaced. Bit expensive for what it was. Positive , good location

This place is absolutely disgusting. They have no idea what bleach or cleaning is. I there were little bugs and cockroaches everywhere. The room stunk like it had not been aired for years, old human body odour type smell The floor was dirty with sticky carpet. The fridge still had smeared all in it.
They advertised spa baths, this didn’t even have all of the caps on all the jet outlets - unusable.
The showerhead was rusted!

There’s no way any normal person could sleep in the smell that was in this room. The curtains had fungus spots on them.
It was a vinegar odour that was coming out of the air-conditioner. I couldn’t even use that to air the room out
There are no privacy locks on the internal doors so you definitely do not feel safe
There was an access door that opened to an adjoining room which I didn’t pay for was actually left unlocked and could be opened
The sliding door to the balcony didn’t even close or lock properly
Fawlty Towers gone wrong is what best describes this place

Loved how close it was to the Main Street and beach, enjoyed the hammocks by the beach, put in by member of community. Reasonable price, place is a little outdated, but clean, self contained and in a quiet area. Spare single bed springs could be felt when sleeping, but overall an enjoyable experience.

Copa 1 night stay

Check in was easy, shower heads needed fixing. Everything we needed was in the room and nearby shops and beach was a walking distance. Had issues with random boys jumping into the pool from the roof and nothing was done about it. Apart from that stay was OK

I stayed on room 2 which is a groundfloor spa suite and I am so sorry I did.
It seemed all the plumbing for tbe other suites ran through the walls of mine and transferred into it.
The walls were thin and I could hear the conversations, movements and intimate moments of other guests.
Slamming doors, stomping feet, dragging furniture, the list goes on.
Another suite put their spa on, twice, at 11.00pm on Sunday night and the noise made it impossible to sleep. My call to reception must have been diverted to the owner who said he would contact the onsite manager to "sort it out" but nothing was done as the spa continued until 11.30 pm, followed by audible initimate activity upstairs.
The manager was pleasant but useless, the doors inside my room were ill fitting, the curtains didn't cover all the windows, they were scabby witj the toilet paper and there were no tissues provided.
I'll need a number of nights at home to catch up on my lack of sleep caused by my stay here.
I will never stay there again and I would never recommend it.

Shama is delightful and clearly aims to please. She is friendly and helpful and clearly tries very hard to please her guests and make their stay pleasant.

HOWEVER … the property itself needs a fair bit of work to feel more holiday let and less flop house, in my opinion.

The rooms are quite compact and very dated.The flooring needs replacing. The bed was unbearably uncomfortable (the mattress desperately needs to be replaced) and the pillows smelled so bad we couldn’t use them. We left a day early. Some of the electrical outlets didn’t work (although there were at least several to choose from)

The location is decent at one road back from the main beachside strip. It’s a shame, ‘though, that the pool side of the property faces onto the street that is ostensibly the back alleyway of the commercial buildings on the strip - the view is the back of the buildings, garbage cans, air conditioning units and driveways. A few palm trees along the property line would help enormously. The security door into the garage from the road didn’t work, so it was always being left open and didn’t feel safe.

Bathroom needs updating. Wish it wasn’t through the kitchen.

The kitchen has all the basics but should be regularly checked as the pots & pans had been completely destroyed & needed replacing. The tile grouting makes it hard to wipe down the backsplash next to the stovetop. And the vent light didn’t work.

German cocroaches in the room. Dishwasher didnt work.
The lift was filthy dirty.
Spa bath was good after we washed out the hair and dirt out.
No views, except of the buildings. My fault, I assumed being one street away from the beach we would have ocean views.
Kids enjoyed the pool and the park down the road.

They have a lovely pool on-site as well. Lovely staff.

Very good value for money.

We had the Deluxe Townhouse and it was a fantastic setup, 2 full rooms with kitchens we were pleasantly surprised at all the room.

Fantastic for 2 couples to not be in each other's faces or a larger family really great. We look forward to coming back.

Great location however we were disappointed with a number of aspects including broken shower door, rusty soap holder, poor shower pressure/shower rose, saggy mattress meaning I woke up very stiff as I have ongoing low back issues and need a firm mattress to manage it. Also I requested a room with a beach or pool view but got a courtyard view instead and the place was only half full or less. Also there were repeat offenders (local high school kids) who jumped the fence into the pool and no action taken as CCTV doesn’t work. Place needs updating to ensure repeat customers.

Good access to the beach where there was plenty of whale watchers getting a good view of the passing pods.

Room was clean and tidy, it had everything we could of possibly needed. Check in was easy and property provided free off street garage parking.
Only issue we had was our room was right at the entry/reception area so we were woken every morning by people coming and going/chatting, however this was around 8am so not unreasonably early but did prevent a sleep in past that time.

We stayed in the Townhouse. It was clean and comfortable and just what we hoped for. The Owners were friendly and accommodating. There were only a few issues to speak of..... 1. Our check in was delayed for over an hour. 2. There was someone staying in an adjoining room that was making a lot of banging noises (which I suppose can happen when you have common walls etc) but it was loud and disruptive... the location and premises were great & when there wasn't loud noises it was very pleasant and relaxing.

Location Location Location! Honestly it’s a 2 minute stroll to the beach, 1 minute walk to cafes/shops etc.

The room was a good size large double bed very comfortable, jacuzzi bath and shower in the en-suite, self contained kitchen with plates cutlery etc.

All in all very well laid out. Check in was easy no fuss and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Not far from the beach, just along the lane and up the hill to overlook the beach. Not a lot to do in Copacabana. Pressed the button twice at the reception counter, then had to call to get service to check in. The lady was quite pleasant. The room was nice enough, wasn't happy to find, what i thought was a pair of undies in the cupboard though. Security gate wasn't working properly and on most occasions that i needed to use it I had to come in the security roller door instead. Overall it was a pleasant room and a fairly quiet place. Not sure i believe it was worth the cost though.

The lady who checked me in barely spoke English. The apartment had a funky smell. The parking lot was so small and tight with only one entry/exit which made it extremely hard to drive out. Their disabled parking spot was cluttered with cleaning items etc around it, I’m not disabled but I don’t think that a disabled person would’ve been able to even get a car parked in there! The showers had good pressure and the bed was fairly comfortable but that Is about it. I definitely won’t be going back.

This apartment hotel was reasonably comfortable and clean but there were no special touches. I tried to contact the hotel before we went to say it was our 29th wedding anniversary and I hoped for a late checkout, but they didn't even answer me.
Our room was the spa suite that the on button didn't work on, we had to switch it on in the fuse box next to the bathroom door, so I don't even think we were given the nicest of those rooms. The TV was small and a little old so we had trouble plugging in our laptop to use our Netflix account. Our room was right in the stairwell so it was noisy and didn't feel very private. There was a mystery buzzing noise like some small electric motor running outside every few minutes but it didn't intrude much so we didn't ask.
As we had to take our own rubbish to the bin and wash our own dishes, it didn't feel at all luxurious. All in all I was disappointed in this as our romantic one-night getaway for our anniversary.

The motel was situated nicely near the beach in a beautiful area. The room was clean and beautiful but the washer/dryer was completely broken and tripped the breaker alsmost shocking us. The manager was nice but didn't take it serious. He did try to rectify the situation by washing our clothes but did not dry them

Its an apartment with full amenities, good bed, and in a quite location.

Its 4 star rating in our opinion is incorrect and a 3 star is more appropriate as its crockery, cutlery, (small bath towels) etc are very poor or non existent as are the garden views due to it being enclosed in a built up area. Parking is under the building and appears to be secure with coded key pad entry. The one disabled car space is filled with maintenance equipment and should be made available for use.
We did not use the pool and do not know if pool towels where supplied or quality of pool or water.

Great location - two blocks from the beach. Can't complain with that. Copacabana is a relatively quiet place, so it's a good place to go for some relaxation.

The car park was a little cramped. It would be difficult to get a large car in and out of there.

When we arrived, I went to check in, place is a non-smoking establishment, however when the receptionist came to the counter there was a strong smell of cigarettes. The guy on reception did not speak English fluently. The pool was filthy. Although the vehicle was in a lock up garage, security was at a minimum, as the owner leaves the place open all hours, therefore, anyone could come in, make their way to the basement and damage the cars. No where to get a meal of a Friday night.

The suite was clean apart from a piece of plastic left on the floor around the dining area. I enjoyed the bathtub with jet. The bed was a too soft. On check in the lady at the front desk forgot to mention that at night they are closing the main door and she omitted to provide the code. Thereby, we got locked out when we got back around 9pm it was a very unpleasant experience! After waiting a very long time, luckily some guest that were heading downstairs to the car park saw us and opened the main door.
