Nice hotel, great staff. Being an old hospital, the rooms are a bit of a strange configuration (at least ours was). The hotel is located in the restricted vehicle / pedestrian area of town so transporting luggage is a bit more of a chore. Nice stay overall, and good breakfast.

The building is relatively old (about one century) in the very center of Deventer, an old Dutch city (founded as a city about 1250 years ago). You are literally in the old center, but only a 6 minute walk from the train and bus stations. The original style of the building has been well maintained, sometimes at the expense of practicality. Our room for example was on the top floor and could only be reached by a steep staircase after an elevator ride to the floor underneath us.
Plus points: location and very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast.
Minus points: outdated and stained carpets , no water heater, coffee/tea maker or refrigerator in the room (but a nice bar or outside terrace where they can make you a drink with a snack).

Leuke ooverloop en trappen en glas in lood. Ontbijtzaal was ook gezellig, maar de kamee was klein, met 1 kleine kast in midden. De badkamer was kil en er waren te weinig plekken om je spulletjes daar neer te zetten.

Disappointing stay

According to the description of the room, I was supposed to have a double bed but I ended up with a small single bed. The bed sheet was not clean with a big spot on it. Furthermore, the room was very cold when I arrived.

In general, the room I had did not represent at all a 3-star hotel and was completely different than the photos I saw on hotels app. Compared to the price I paid for the room, it’s so far the worst room I booked on hotels application.

If you are looking for a fancy hotel, this is not it. Still, I have been a few times in the hotel now. The entrance hall of the building is cool. The rooms are very clean but simple and good if you need the room to sleep and not to work. The staff is very friendly, the breakfast is good. I will be back.

Unique monumental hotel in heart of Deventer!

Everything was great! Location is perfect, staff is always here to help you and the breakfast was more than good! Just mind stairs to the last floor can be steep just like in almost all hotels in Holland.

I'll Come back to the Gilde Hotel in Deventer.

This has been my favorite Hotel for many years. I have stayed there at least five times if not more. Every time I get a different room, and since each room is unique, that adds to the experience. I love the friendliness of the staff. They are alert and remember what I need. I enjoy the breakfast and use the small bar as my office away from home. Deventer is such a friendly city with so many choices for eating out, I haven't even tried 10% of them yet.

Wonderful conversion of 19th century convent building with lovely woodwork and stained glass in the public areas. Right in the medieval heart of Deventer close to main sights, restaurants and shops. Spacious, spotless room overlooking courtyard - huge, well-equipped bathroom. Relaxing background sounds of church bells and birdsong. Friendly, helpful staff and very good breakfast.

Lovely hotel in excellent location

This hotel is housed in a former convent, and the building is beautiful. There is a lovely courtyard for breakfast (which was great). And the rooms are large, very clean and modern. Also, they rent bikes for a very reasonable rate and it's a great home base for rides in the Dutch countryside. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and the location is on a quiet, quaint street in this very pretty city. I would definitely stay here again.

It is an historic building, very authentic, that was very nice. But because of that, it was noisy.
The city of Deventer is very nice.
There was no restaurant in the hotel-building. Only for breakfast. There was a Fletcher-offer : 3 course diner included, and lower price to stay, but because of the lac of a restaurant, they could not give me the offer, they also did not lower the prise.

Op zich een prima hotel. Wij hadden een kamer op de eerste verdieping aan de straatkant wat van 2 tot 4 erg veel lawaai gaf van mensen die naar huis gingen van uit de stad. Om 6 uur begon de ontbijt ploeg waarschijnlijk want toen was het een hoop lawaai van klappen met container deksels. De badkamer is oud en er is weinig ruimte om je toiletspullen kwijt te kunnen. Verder prima bedden, ruime kamer en goed ontbijt.

Het pand waarin het hotel zich bevind is prachtig. Mooie entree, mooie vloeren.
De kamer is erg gedateerd. Vloerbedekking op de grond. De badkamer voldoet maar dat is het dan ook. De matrassen waren prima de kussen waren meer dan versleten. Het raam sloot heel slecht, door de kier keek je naar buiten.
Het ontbijt was uitstekend en ook de bar was prima. Personeel was top!

Ik had Gilde room geboekt maar de foto's kwamen niet overeen met de kamer. Het was in een kleine kamer in de kelder dat toe was aan een renovatie.

De ramen konden bijvoorbeeld niet gesloten worden.
De douche was ouderwets met witte tegels.

Wij hadden kamer 23 in het Fletcher hotel te Deventer en helaas bleken er diverse dingen in dit hotel niet in orde te zijn.
1. wij hadden een 2 persoons bed waar je niet makkelijk in kon gaan liggen omdat het bed 15 cm van de muur stond. Ook was er aan deze kant geen nachtkastje of plank waardoor wij spullen op de grond moesten plaatsen. De kwaliteit van het matras viel ook zwaar tegen.
2. de w.c.bril konden wij niet omhoog klappen omdat hij dan terugviel.
3. de kraan van de wastafel bleek geen zeefje in te zitten waardoor de kraan alle kanten op spatte!
4. er waren in de kamer slechts 2 kleine handdoekjes en na onze melding hiervan werden de handdoeken niet aangevuld dus douchen was praktisch onmogelijk.
5. de ventilatie in de badkamer zat geen filter in maar er zat gewoon een gat in het plafond.
6. de lift was defect waardoor je steeds met de trap naar boven of beneden moest.
Deze punten in aanmerking genomen blijkt dit hotel absoluut een grote flop te zijn en ik kom hier ook zeker niet weer...!!! Iedereen die van plan is om dit hotel te nemen zal ik het sterk afraden!

De eenpersoonskamer was wel heel erg klein.... een bed, een stoel die precies past tussen het buro en het bed geeft deze kamer (32) gewoon geen fijn even-genieten-van-een-hotelletje-gevoel, eerder een klooster gevoel. De deur tussen de kamer en het gangetje naar de grote gang was weg, maar de plekken waar de scharnieren hadden gezeten waren nog zichtbaar als ruw hout. De douche was oud, er zat allemaal bruin spul tussen de tegels en in de doucheslang. Omdat deze deur weg was, hoorde je dus ook het piepen van andere deuren op de gang. Niet voor herhaling vatbaar.

Prachtig pand! Ligging heel mooi in het centrum, parkeer garage dicht bij.

Bij inchecken werden we omgeboekt naar een kamer aan de tuin kant, echt prachtig! Heel leuk ook dat we eerst naar buiten moesten om bij onze kamer te kunnen komen.

Ontbijt was goed en vers. Zeker een aanrader!

Bij aankomst vuile was op de grond. Zak op bed was erg gefrommeld. De handdoeken 2 Badlakens waren zo dun dat ik ze thuis zou afschrijven. Geen handdoek om handen na toiletbezoek af te drogen. Geen zeepje.
Het ontbijt was goed verzorgd.

We had a family room on the 4th floor. Elevator only serves to the 3rd floor. Last meters to be done with the most dangerous stairs i have ever seen in a Hotel. The room was old and poor. Not enough water pressure for a proper shower. Materaces old and soft, linnen too thin and worn out. No complimentary mineral water and no bathroom armenties at all. Hair dryer only on demand to be picked up at the front desk. Promo photos in Hotels.com were taken from other rooms. Couldnt find our room anywhere. Simple Hotel bar serviced from the front desk. Good prices. Nice breakfast even though the room is too small for the number of rooms. Full breakfast. Nothing is missing. We enjoyed the breakfast. I have paid 580 Euros for 2 nights and i will not consider to stay there again.

Het hotel is een heel mooi oud pand, maar de kamers zijn wat gedateerd, dit is op zich niet erg ware het dat de waterdruk uit de douche belabberd laag was. Ook de ombouw van de bedden zie er versleten uit, al met al het zou een opfris beurtje kunnen gebruiken. Tijdens het ontbijt bleek de capaciteit van het koffiezet apparaat niet toereikend voor de hoeveelheid gasten wat resulteert in een lange wachtrij. Toch hebben we een heel mooi weekend gehad dit gezien de lokaliseren van het hotel en de aantrekkelijke stad met omgeving.

Superbe lieu pour séjourner à Deventer. Le batiment est magnifique. Les chambres ont de jolis petits balcons avec table et chaise. L'emplacement est tres calme car les voitures ne circulent pas dans la rue.

Zondagmiidag wilde ik terras op, bediening moest via receptie waar op dat moment niemand was. Prima, dan ga ik toch de stad in? Gemiste kans op wat extra inkomsten voor het hotel. Details, daar draait het om.

Het hotel zit in een mooi pand en de ligging is ook prima (op loopafstand van het centrum), de kamers zijn echter wel aan een opknapbeurt toe. Personeel is vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

De accommodatie was midden in het centrum. De kamer was oubollig en houtje touwtje. Wellicht is dat de charme van een ouder gebouw, maar het kan wel wat meer TLC gebruiken. Ontbijt wordt ruim voor tijd afgeruimd terwijl je zit te eten en voor ons de klap op de vuurpijl de wc die niet doorspoelde.
Al met al zou deze (luxe kamer) nooit boven de €90,- moeten komen IPV €130,- p.n.

Niet meer van deze tijd ,vieze vloerbedekking ,te kleine douche en geen nachtkastjes ,geen bed lampjes en je moet over elkaar heen klimmen om uit bed te kunnen komen ,onderkant bed is kapot ,ontbijt te simpel geen roomboter en zeer slechte koffie alleen het balkon was aangenaam en prettig zitten ….. gemiste kans want het gebouw is prachtig en verdient beter
