Give a gift to yourself

What a peaceful and relaxing delight. The dining was exquisite. Well worth the trip and very easy to get to using only public transportation from Amsterdam. After taking a train, get a bus at Amsfoort. Eight stops later, it stops in front of the hotel Couldn't be easier.

My wife and i really enjoyed our stay and our dinner at the Echoput restaurant. We opted for a 5 course set menu with wine pairings for each course. Food and wine were both amazing and highly recomend a stay at this property. Very close to the Paleis Het Loo which we also enjoyed visiting.

Hotel is very nice and personnel is friendly.
The problem I had is with the severe lack of proper lighting.
Use of LED fixtures is admirable but does not work for every location.

Bathroom lighting is deficient. Some stairway lighting is also
insufficient for safe decent.

Bathroom door (at least in my room) does not open sufficiently.

This is a lovely hotel located in the middle of a forest. There are not a lot of shops or restaurants around it.

The room was very large with a big bathroom. I stayed in winter and the room was very warm.

The clean was good, although one day they took all the cups from the room and didn't replace them. You also need to ask if you want your minibar stocked.

Breakfast is lovely with your eggs and sausage/bacon cooked fresh for you. Dinner in the bar was also nice (game focused menu).

Staff were very attentive to my needs and moved my room when requested. The room facing the highway can be a bit noisy though the staff did say this stops over night, but I thought why take the risk when they had plenty of rooms facing the woods.

Nice try but does not work for us

The rooms are spacious, but the decor very dark and cold. Black and grey ..
Lighting insufficient especially innthe bathroom. This is supposed to be a Hotel gastronomic, but the dinner service was so slow, that it took 45minutes to get a menu, and after 2 1/2 hours the main course of a 4 course dinner was still not served...As we could not get the attention of our waiter who we later found in the foyer, we gave up and left. So we never had our dinner..! Disastrous.

Very nice hotel, clean fresh forest air abundant

I have been coming to this hotel for quite a few years now, and quite frequently as well, I may add. The hotel and its staff have never disappointed me and I always like to come back here. I am a frequent business traveler and I have seen my fair share of hotels around the world. This one stands out because of its smaller size, friendly staff and perfect location if you like tranquility and a beautiful forest setting and lots of crisp, clean forest air.

Everything about the hotel was great: service, comfort of the room, location on the doorstep of great walking and cycling routes. We had a room overlooking the road and there's no denying it: you hear the birds as well as the cars. But we felt that everything else overshadowed this (and yes I normally hate noise!). The bed was extremely comfortable and having a bath looking at the tip of the trees was very relaxing! The staff were extremely helpful, efficient and knowledgeable. The food was delicious both breakfast and tasting menu for dinner including paired wines. If we're back in the area we will definitely
go back.

There is a bar, casual restaurant and a more formal restaurant on site.

A restful place in a crowded country

Lovely hotel. Third time I have stayed here and I specifically choose it because it has an \"away from it all\" feel but is quite close to the town of Apeldoorn (which also has a quieter feel to it that than the big cities of The Netherlands). This area of The Netherlands is particularly attractive, with a forest and woodland feel which is a little reminiscent of parts of Germany/Scandinavia that I have stayed in. The hotel is surrounded by trees on all sides. The rooms are very well appointed, well kept, clean and comfortable, with pleasant views of the surrounding forest. Parking is easy and free. The bar and restaurant have good ambience and excellent food. The only negative thing about this hotel for me is that it is not located close enough to very many of the business customers I visit in The Netherlands. I wish this place was within 50km of Rotterdam!

A Perfect Stay

The setting was beautiful, right in the Forrest near the Palace grounds. The hotel was easy to find. The landscaping and outside amenities were lovely. The restaurant food was delicious and the service, everything I could ask for.

We should have stayed longer!!!

This was a lucky pick on our trip. We thought we might stop and see a theme park and this hotel looked like it was nice but out of te way. Well we never got to the theme park because this place was so beautiful. It was located in huge forest all off to itself. it was so peaceful and beautiful we had a great break in our busy holiday trip. There was a nature museum and huge long trails everywhere. The time we were there it was raining but that could not hide the sheer beauty of the location in The Netherlands forest. It is isolated and has it's own restaurant on site otherwise the closest restaurant is about a 45 minute walk. Stores and other shopping is even further so, for us, a car was needed. That didn't take away from the beauty of the location.

A gem on the historical beaten path.

This hotel is excellent and an amazing find for the area. It happens to be close enough to Barneveld to be useful for business stay if you have meetings in the area. It is really a hotel which is great for couples and revolves around a spectacular restaurant. It is situated across from a large forested park area and is excellent for biking or walking and taking in the scenery. I highly recommend this hotel, the rooms are huge. Just one word of understanding, it is not what one would term a \"warm\" construction, it is all stone walled and tiled but they provide slippers and robes. For the price this is an amazing find. One of the really neat features is a well that is there because this used to be on the main traderoute between London and Moscow as the historical sign indicates. This was all royal grounds back then and according to the staff the queen was so upset by the mess made by people visiting the well that she had a small building built around it to control access. Very quaint.

when checking in to the hotel the reception took a deposit off my credit card on the 15/12/2014 when we checked out the hotel took a card payment for the full amount of the stay and on checking the reservation paperwork they overcharged for the room and on the 29/12/2014 I am still waiting the refund of the deposit.
that said the room was of exceptional standard there was only the bar open for meals when we stayed the food was of exceptional standard

Beautiful location, exceptional service

The area around and the grounds of the hotel are stunning. It's a bit outside of town, but being there on business, I loved coming back to the hotel and having the quiet, green respite. I missed the restaurant, having been there the two days it was closed, but the Bistro was delicious. The staff were top-notch for service. And the \"gift shop\"... hard to call it that really... has an amazing wine selection. I felt like I was in a private connoisseur's cellar. Prices were quite good, too. Wish I'd had more room in my suitcase to bring home gourmet oils and various wine finds.

Way-too-expensive a breakfast

We were charged 22.5 Euros for the standard buffet breakfast. That was almost twice what we paid for the same fare at a 4-star hotel in Amsterdam. Otherwise, it's a nice place: quiet, great decor, friendly staff.

Fijn dat de kamer zo ruim was en netjes. Groot bed alleen jammer dat het 2 aparte bedden zijn die aan elkaar geschoven worden en 2 aparte dekens zijn. Stond bij het reserveren dat het 1 kingsize bed zou zijn. Voor de rest was het een top ervaring en zouden we graag weer terug komen naar de locatie.

Mooi hotel, prima locatie. Heeft fietsverhuur. Service is goed met netjes en vriendelijk personeel.

Lekker en rijk ontbijt, leuke oplossing voor de Corona. Ze mogen alleen wel de kopjes en lepels beter schoonmaken, tot 2x toe suiker van een vorige klant.., en kast in de kamer was stoffig.

Desalnietemin zeer aan te raden, prima locatie om de Veluwe rond Apeldoorn te ontdekken.

Goed hotel met heerlijk restaurant erbij! Super wandelroutes starten vanuit het hotel... er mag wat meer ervaring bij het personeel komen en een menukaart zowel bij de Bar als het restaurant zou niet misstaan.

Comfy hotel with central location in the Veluwe region. Very nice breakfast (in Coranaproof version). The in-house restaurant is was a positive surprise. The rooms are spacious but a little loud in the morning due to heavy traffic on the main road.

Sauna-Bereich ist nicht nennenswert; wir konnten nur zwischen einem 4, 5 oder 6-Gänge-Menü wählen; Preise waren nicht ersichtlich; lange Wartezeiten; für ein 5-Sterne-Hotel fehlte es an Details; die Zimmerreinigung war unzureichend; keine Aufmerksamkeiten wie z.B. Wasser auf dem Zimmer, was zu Knabbern zum Bier in der Bar; es fehlt ein Wasserkocher für Tee/Kaffee; Zimmer mit Granit ausgelegt, aber nicht sehr gut gepflegt; sehr schönes Haus, unglaublich gemütlicher, aber der Fokus liegt wohl auf anderen Aspekten

We have been here 4 to 5 times now. Actually from the very start, 12 years ago, since now. Over time there was a big downfall in service and hospitality. Also in amenities, however that is fine, it is happening everywhere else. But service and hospitality makes the difference between 4 to 5 stars.

I don't want to complain about all the issues that happened, but the most impressive - and also hilarious one - is that they did not want to provide a corkscrew. 'There was not such item in the hotel'. You should have in mind that there is a big bar in the hotel as well as a restaurant. Please be straight to your customers: if you don't want to have people drinking wine at their private terrace make that clear in your statements. Handing a letter saying that you want to do your utterly best as management to comfort your guest doesn't resonate with this cheap trick.

Normally I would not put effort in a review, however, together with the very bad experience in the room I now will put a review online, hopefully to create better experiences for further guests. It is not a cheap dump there. The first photo shows you a dirty toilet. Some dirt on the wall, next to the toiletpaper. The other photo shows you a whole in the wall. the last photo is taken in the shower. Water doesn't find a way other then moving into the bathroom. This happend also the last time.....

Die Architektur des Hotels ist einmalig, die Betten wunderbar und das Personal freundlich. Das Essen im Restaurant ist ein Traum.
Das Zimmer auf die Strasse ist leider laut (viel Verkehr); ruhig schlafen ist nur bei geschlossenen Fenstern möglich.

Mooi hotel, maar geen value for money

Het hotel is netjes en de kamer schoon, alleen was het balkon niet goed schoongemaakt. Ook werd het lichtje in de badkamer niet gerepareerd (de badkamer is erg donker). De badkamer is wel erg mooi met een aparte douche en diep ligbad.
Jammer dat een waterkoker met koffie en thee niet standaard op de kamer is. Na erom vragen kregen we er wel 1, maar alleen met thee.
Ook een babybedje moest worden afgerekend, maar dit werd niet bij het inchecken verteld. Een beetje raar als dit wordt verteld bij het uitchecken, maar dit zal wel nederlands zijn.

Modernes Hotel im Grünen

Das Hotel ist wirklich schön, sehr modern und die Zimmer sind sauber, geschmackvoll eingerichtet und einfach hochwertig.
Das einzige RIESEN Manko ist das Personal! Ich weiß nicht, ob es daran lag, dass wir ein niederländisch gesprochen haben, aber als wie abends zum Dinner ins Restaurant gegangen sind wurden wir erst mal sehr lange warten gelassen, mussten und ständig erkundigen, ob wir denn auch etwas zu trinken, etc. bekommen und bis auf einen sehr netten Kellner (der wahrscheinlich der Restaurantchef war, weil er der einzig aufmerksame Mensch im Raum gewesen ist) wurden wir von den anderen Kellnern ignoriert. Dafür, dass wir für das Menü 75€ gezahlt haben zzgl. Getränken finde ich den Service echt unterirdisch.
Empfehlen würde ich das Hotel wahrscheinlich schon, denn es ist wirklich schön gelegen und ausgestattet. Wenn man keinen Wert auf geschultes Personal legt, kann man seinen Urlaub dort auch besser genießen, als wir es konnten
