Stayed 3 nights with my wife. Property is in a good proximity to beach and boardwalk. Parking is a bit rough because main lot fills up quickly then you’re stuck parking 2 blocks away in a very tight secondary lot that also fills up quickly. Wasn’t impressed with the patio area. Large area but nowhere to sit down apart from a very hard park bench. The evening we sat there on some chairs that were already left there by the restaurant next door, after a little while the police came over to tell us to get off the chairs and return them to the restaurant which we never took them to begin with so I wasn’t thrilled to be approached by the police over some chairs. The hotel should splurge and put some complimentary seating for their guests on the patio. Outside of this, beach is nice and clean but sand is a bit rough on the bottoms of your feet closer to the water. Lots of police presence on the boardwalk so that’s good to deter nuisances. Nice town but wouldn’t return. There are better beach towns on the Jersey shore to visit.

Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate with our plans to fully enjoy all of the fun things that being right on the boardwalk offers, but we still had a great time. The hotel bar served good drinks, and the food was very good. Room was clean and comfortable. We stayed on the side facing the street, which was pretty noisy very late into the night, but the hotel does warn of that on the website so we were prepared with a noise machine. Would 100% stay here again, and maybe next time Mother Nature will gift us with decent temps and no cold rain for 3 days in a row!!

The front desk let me check in early and park so I could enjoy the beach. They have daily beach badges for guests who stay more than one day. Unfortunately I only stayed one night and paid to go the beach.

Book here if you are coming with kids, are old and don’t want rowdy kids around. Can’t smoke or drink by the pool is in the Aztecs outside bar that is literally not in use. Oh and house keeping will be banging on that door at 9 am sharp like the feds whether or not you have your do not disturb tag on. But, clean room, comfy bed, nice bathroom- room did include a jacuzzi tub and a really nice shower. But I personally would not stay here again.

Okay room if you get it months in advance and are only using it for sleeping I suppose. The drain in the shower was clogged so when we showered it started filling up. The staff and security guard were very nice and helpful I will say though.

We booked in January and it for late May to accompany our daughter during Prom Weekend. We booked the VIP room with 2 Queen sized beds- shower and jacuzzi. It was overlooking the boardwalk and beach on the top floor- and spacious. That is what I expected. First they put us in the wrong room- one below with only one bed. When I went to the office to ask why they said they gave it to someone else. No explanation. After I showed them my receipt for the room I paid for with the details- they put us in another room with two beds. It was cramped, overlooking the pool, and there was definitely a price difference. I did not get the room I paid for. I was not compensated for the price difference. Consequently I knew the people who had gotten the room- they booked it 2 days AFTER I had after I told them that is where I was staying. Overall the location on the boardwalk was what I wanted- but I am disappointed in how they gave the room away and didn't offer to refund me the difference between the rooms.
The positives were the free parking a block away, and the location on the boardwalk was great. The pool looked great but it was 64 degrees out and too cold to swim.

The room was completely dusty everywhere. It’s the perfect place to not sleep. Too noisy any time. They offer parking spaces and you ending parking like two blocks away from the hotel. All rules are not enforced at all. My room has liquid water on top of the air conditioning and over the floor.

The view from the room/balcony was fabulous. While the interior of the room was modernized, the furniture and beds ARE in NEED of being replaced. Very old and worn looking. The mattress extremely lumpy. The beds were completely made differently which made me think that they might have been slept in prior to my arrival and never had the sheets changed!
Tub drain yukky and held water.
AC unit fabulous and cold!
Hallways horrible and needs to be remodeled.
Terrible parking, had to walk a couple of blocks from parking lot.
Elevator needs to be changed out. Buttons not working properly.
Excellent location facing Casino Pier.
Lobster Lounge restaurant..excellent!
Fabulous ice machine in lobby.
Would stay there again!!!

I was really looking forward to this hotel and the walk down the boardwalk. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The hotel was old, not taken care of, almost tripped a few times on bumps and cracks in concrete, and the other guests were loud/noisy, and a little sketchy. I will not be back.

The Aztec used to be a hot spot to stay at while at seaside. That ended about 10 years ago. The property is run down , they still ask for a 200.00 deposit and the air tin the restaurant and the rooms need updating . Lastly the shower which looked fancy didn’t work. When I checked out at 10am which is a hr earlier than almost all the other places in town. She didn’t even apologize or offer another room for a hr to shower only said ok then walked away.

This property was amazing for what I wanted, needed and price. We had a balcony over looking the pool that I could also see the Ferris wheel. Room was clean besides under the beds needs some tlc. Would have been nice for a coffee pot in room but everything is walking distance or a quick drive that it was ok. Too cold for the pool but the pool was clean. right on boardwalk so made it easy to come and go especially with a five year old. I would definitely stay here again

No one was at the front desk when we arrived, so check-in took longer than expected. Room was clean, but dated including the furniture. The bed was comfortable, a/c worked well. Bathroom fixtures appeared to have been updated recently but the towels weren't. I know, sounds weird, but I like a nice towel when I get out of the shower.
Pool chairs were uncomfortable. I saw at least 3 different styles, one was cracked. I got our beach chairs and we used them at the pool. The pool was clean but areas around it needed attention. Signs were confusing, some handwritten on cardboard, gates bent or crooked. There was a drain clean out in the parking garage leaking, don't know what it was. Overall we enjoyed ourselves, but some attention to details would have made it better.

Parking was almost a block from the room, so if it’s raining moving all your belongings to the room can be frustrating!! I always bring cleaning supplies but glad I did came room was dirty, fridge had crumbs and hair in it!! Bathroom had hair and brown stains in the side of the toilet!! We was offered another room checked it out was also not so clean!! Property is really old and could use some real work not just paint job! The guy at the front desk was so nice and tried to accommodate but the older lady seemed to be uneasy with helping me!! I hate to do such a terrible review cause I try to give benefit of the doubt but I will never stay here again and I do not recommend unless you coming for boardwalk, it’s conveniently located directly on boardwalk!!

Disappointed with how you could hear everything as if windows and doors were left open. However, the worst part was the cleanliness. It was not clean. We checked in and staff were really nice. But qe couldnt stay. So we lost 2 nights worth of money and had to find another hotel. We couldnt stay in that. Hair and dirt in the bathtub/shower, dirt on the bed sheets and bed skirt.

The room smelled strongly of cigarettes and marijuana; my son became ill from the smell. Reception was informed of the incident and offered a much lower room. The beds are very small and have springs, and my back is stiff. There was one time, in the middle of the night, when I slept on the floor because my back was hurting.

The beds were not very comfortable and in our case, the headboards were not attached so they rocked and hit the wall a lot just turning over in your sleep and the pillows were super thin and barely there bring your own pillows.

Aztec is fine if you need a place to stay but could use updating. Beds were clean and comfortable. Air conditioners leaked water every so often. Maintenance came to fix but the next day it happened again. Pool area is great, though pool is not heated, we enjoyed poolside room. Shower fixtures are very nice and shampoo/conditioner is provided. Connected to a restaurant that opens to the boardwalk. Great location! Lots of potential!

The whole place had holes, rotten wood, cracked walls and gave you a gross feeling. Just looking at the beds made you feel itchy and like bugs were crawling on you. We didn’t even stay. We got to the beach early, we’re so excited to get to our room to shower and relax so we checked in and ended up leaving three minutes later because it was so uncomfortable and dingy. Drive 2.5 hours to end up driving right back home.
