Room was in good condition. Staff were extremely friendly and courteous and worked as best as they could within a the many flaws of the hotel.

Ice machine broken, bar unmanned, room service every other day, ineffective communication between room and front desk (had to use WhatsApp) no tv (had to use your personal streaming like Netflix) and when it wasn’t working, no maintenance available until 11:00 pm that night. No food available at beach front bar on the first day.

Shout out to Jamal who went over and beyond to accommodate for the flaws and made the stay bearable.

Sad to see such a previously prestigious site in this condition.

We had a lovely stay at Mt Irvine Bay Resort. The staff at the front desk (including Sarah and Joel) were friendly and professional. The hotel is beautiful and well kept. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the bathrooms were modern. There was a slight musty smell to the room but this was not a problem.
The pool and beach access were great.The beach was lovely and as a hotel guest we got chairs and umbrellas. The beach music was a nice peaceful level such that you can feel the vibes but enjoy the serenity.

The one pitfall with the hotel is the restaurant. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The staff do work hard but most are not trained to provide quality customer service.
Breakfast on most days was a tenuous process where you felt like you were annoying the staff if you asked for a menu. Some things they just could not explain. Eg. the special wad saltfish....saltfish and what? Or when i asked what an item on the dinner menu was. No explanation...but maybe a roll eyes. It's such a pity because the restaurant area is a feast for the eyes....just not the belly.

Dinner there is a let down as well. Unfortunately there is no kids menu. The waitress said she was new so she was unable to give any explanation to the menu. They eventually found a drinks menu but the bartender seemed unfamiliar with the drinks.
Our last day there the breakfast came quickly and was good.
Overall we would defintely return to the hotel but we would not have lunch or dinner in the restaurant.

This hotel was terrible. First, the toilet seat was not fastened properly and it kept slipping off the toilet. The tv was not working, when it was on the screen showed a box stating “weak signal “. The tiles on the pathway to the beach was full of moss and slippery. The room had a musty odor and the room was not cleaned for the duration of our stay. When we reported the problem with the tv, the front desk replied that there was no one available to check it out because it was the weekend.

However, we had breakfast at the hotel and it was very good. They also found a rental car for us even though it was a holiday weekend.

Overall I probably won’t stay at this hotel again. Everything I wanted I had to get myself at the reception (towels…etc). The staff was lukewarm at best. Not that friendly. Additionally, while the property obviously was amazing in its day, it’s a little dated, and not well maintained. The main areas seemed deserted, and we only saw a handful of guests during our stay there.

The best part of our stay was the beach. It was amazing. The water was serene and clean. Not crowded. As a member of the hotel you were provided a chair (no towels). There was a bar that opened later in the morning, and food was prepared at the canteen. The location is perfect.

There needs to be many improvements. The rooms were okay but no regular housekeeping occurred and tv service/wi-fi did not work. Staff were friendly but there was not nearly enough staff and you could tell it was very hard for them to keep up with basic services. The pool was nice but there was never a bartender at the swim up bar so hard to enjoy it for too long. I could tell that this was once a beautiful resort but it is falling apart. So sad to see. Unfortunately, unless there were major improvements made, I would not stay at Mt. Irvine again and would not recommend it to others.

This was the most terrible stay , -100, will never stay here again or recommend to anyone. Beautiful property but the staff was not properly trained and the area is not maintained. There were problems with water and electricity, the WiFi and tv in the rooms do not work even though it was complained about to the manager, we were never offered another room or compensated. The housekeeper is the best thing about the property, she was very kind, cordial and very helpful.

The resort is very expansive and has a nice cool and relaxing atmosphere to it. Some of the cottages appear a little run down but the grounds are well taken care of and the plants well manicured. The pool is huge and the depth good enough for swimming and relaxing. For the dates we stayed at the resort, I believe we were the only guests. Some areas are poorly lit in the night making the walk to the rooms a little eerie. The beds in our initial room were not very comfortable. The staff did well to respond to our concern and provided us with an upgraded room although the beds were only slightly improved. Special mention to Anishka (I believe that's her name) at front desk who attended to our every need, and to Dion as well. The bartender, Joel, at the swim up bar was very attentive and friendly. We took the b/fast, lunch and dinner package and the meals were sufficient. Lunch at the 1763 restaurant was great and the staff very friendly. To get to this resort and move around easily it is recommended to rent a vehicle.

The team at the Sugar Mill restaurant were all pleasant, courteous, and customer service oriented.
I also appreciated My. Irvine Bay Resort’s efforts at communicating the issues with the water service interruptions, and their frequent personal check-ins to see if we had any concerns.
We also appreciated the invitation to the Management Cocktail hour and their attempt to get to know us on a personal level and another opportunity to address concerns.
We were extremely impressed with the young and smart management team we interacted with. We believe that they will bring new and innovative ideas by “thinking outside the box” and make the resort a success, if given the opportunity.
The Mt Irvine Bay Resort team were also very responsive to my questions via chat prior to our trip.
However, I wish there was better communication and transparency about the operations of transportation to and from the airport and the Spa services that are provided on the property. In communicating with the hotel, I was told via chat that “the service charge will be applied to your resort account for payment prior to your checkout.” But, this was not the case as the taxi fee turned out to be a cash transaction between ourselves and the driver. And, when I inquired about Spa services, it also turned out to be a cash transaction because it was separate from the resort.
All in all, we enjoyed the warmth of the Mt. Irvine Bay Resort team and their commitment to making our stay as enjoyable as possible.

The property is located in a nice area of the island, walking distance from the beach. It was very quiet. The room was was not fancy, but was very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Staff was really nice. The place is also Beautiful with nice ocean views. The are doing some renovations on some of the rooms so we did hear an occasional drilling or hammer but once you are in the room you hear notting. Room we got was pretty and had a modern feel but stepping out on the balcony you feel like you are in nature. Beach was a 5-10min walk and you have to cross the road. We went to a fish fry even on the beach hosted by the hotel on the beach and it was really good, food and bon fire was exciting. We did not use the pool and much other amenities but the free breakfast on a morning was great and enough to start your days on the right foot.

I received a free shuttle from the Ferry port. Check-in was quick and easy. The room was nice. My main issue being the AC that stopped working on my our last night. The water takes a little while to heat up. The pool is heated and lovely! The staff are friendly and helpful. They can assist you with arranging transportation as well. The only meal we ate there was breakfast and it was ok. The dinner restaurant staff need training. The menus are 1 page so don't expect too much variety.

Please do not be deceived by this property, they Advertise a lot of amenities that they do not have. We did not have any Wi-Fi, no TV, no bartender at dinner, A very limited bar at the “swim up bar”, no one was available at the so-called spa anytime we went, there were no wash cloths on the property, they did not have fresh towels when we were leaving to go to the beach. The price does not justify what you are provided, very disappointed in this location and it was a very disappointing time for myself and a party of nine which included an 80 year old woman and they placed our room at least a mile away from the front desk and we were not provided a wheelchair or any assistance to get her around the grounds until the last day. The general manager has alleged to provide some compensation towards our stay, and I am currently still awaiting this. Two stars at best and that is just because the staff was friendly and the breakfast was good.

We originally paid for a pool view room was put in a garden view room. When asked to be moved had to wait. It was moved to a lesser nice room, no refrigerator no microwave coffee machine didn’t work. Only one restaurant was open for limited time. Gift shop wasn’t open. No concierge, pool hours closing at six. No communication as far as dinner times, Or other activities at the facility. The staff was overall very friendly. I thought it was expensive for the amenities and services provided.
Free breakfast and free transportation to and from the airport was a plus beardie was wonderful enjoyed the education about Tobago!

Property is deceiving. The outside looks nice, but the rooms are in terrible condition; the bed is like sleeping on a cardboard box, and the bathroom is so bad. The head of the shower was disgusting, the sink had mold, and there was hair on our door knob. We got two rooms, and both were disgusting. We stayed one night, so we dealt with it. The pool was full of debris and floating bugs. The staff mentioned someone would come but never did. The staff was friendly, from the receptionist to the bartender. We also had to pay extra to check in around noon, which was $40.00 per room. Also, another guest, we overcharged for 2 cups of soup, which equaled 90.00 US. A ripoff. If you want decent rooms, please go somewhere else. Our driver mentioned the hotel was in excellent shape and robust when his mother worked there. It seems to have gone way downhill. I will say they did provide us complimentary transportation to the airport, which was great.

Everything was pleasing except for the beds which were extremely hard. When we provided the feedback will departing, we were told that we could have requested the additional mattress top for the bed. This I found extremely disappointing and shocking as I have never had to request this as an additional option in any of the several hotels I have stayed at. This is poor and needs to be improved.

I've stayed here several times, and the hotel - for Tobago - was always, in my opinion, pretty good. Decent breakfast and pleasant pool area. This is still true, but the cottage room (102) I paid extra for this time around was not good. The general impression was old and tired and run down. Beds were terrible, with pillows as hard as bricks. No aircon in the sitting area, so that was too hot to use, nor in the bathroom, which had lighbulbs heating that up to sauna levels. The aircon in the room was either on at full blast or didn't work - and it was really noisy. The TV was unwatchable, not sure for what reason but the image was completely washed out. Hot water pressure in the shower was a trickle at best. Breakfast is still decent but handled really inefficiently, leading to unnecessary queues, and the servers constantly forgetting the order, having to be reminded - something they don't take very well, making you as a guest feeling guilty for reminding them you ordered toast or coffee without it appearing. Never enough pool towels (which is ridiculous, going to ask and being told I'll have to wait an hr for them to clean them is just mindboggling). Beach is closing at 6, but they take the sunbed from under you at 5.25, also pretty ridiculous. The hotel give an impression of tired and run down, badly in need of upgrading.

The pool was really nice. Airport transfers aren't available but the taxi we asked the hotel to arrange for us was at the airport waiting for us as we requested.
The buffet on our first night was really poor quality for the price tag. Only buffet was available and given the location of the hotel, going outside the hotel was impossible w/out a car.
We requested an early check in and communicated our arrival time but we had to wait almost an hour for our room and we only got access to it when I called a Snr member of staff on her cell. When we got to the room (Cottage) the key card did not work so we had to wait outside the door for them to get a master key to open it.
Because of Covid restrictions, they did not take our luggage in, which we understood, but when we complained that the cable wasn't working, the person who came to deal with it, walked straight in the room with his boots to attend to the problem, covid restrictions didn't seem to apply then.
The phone in the room also did not work, apparently a TSTT issue but we only knew when we picked up the phone to call Concierge; so we had to walk to the front of the property every time we needed something - the cottage rooms are further away from the property than the regular rooms.
Housekeeping had to be called to take away/wash dirty dishes although garbage had been emptied when we were out.
Insufficient towels, bathroom tissue etc was replenished in the bathroom although housekeeping was done on 2 occasions.

But the room was not that updated and the surprise $25 per child per night expense was a big difference in the price I had already paid online to hotels.com. I wasn’t expecting the room to be $200 plus a night after adding the children. They didn’t give us a bigger room or anything so I’m confused what the extra $75 a night was for! The rooms were not that up to date and there were no fridge or microwaves in the rooms. There was a brush fire nearby and the whole room and pool area smelled of smoke. Overall I wouldn’t go back and we are already looking for an alternative place to stay when we return in December.

Rooms ok but in need of modernisation. Breakfast quality was poor other than the eggs. Tables not completed prepared and service slo. You had to work hard to get what you wanted.

The exception to this was the egg lady who was friendly and efficient. Also the customer relations lady was helpful, friendly and proactive. We enjoyed the management drinks evening.

Staff at reception helpful but managed to mix up the room bills and despite asking for a reconciliation by email, I have yet to receive one.

Beach was very good.

I specifically had on my reservation a pool room view which I booked months in advance and even corresponded with the “resort.”. The manager said they could not accommodate me, there would be no compensation AND said that if I left, I would not get a refund! Outside of my room was disgusting with a dirty stain. my bathtub had a big dirty ring on the base of the tub and they said it was a stain, they ran out of wash cloths so I had none, the towels were dingy and frayed, the hotel food was HORRIBLE, even the bartender couldn’t identify their version on crab and dumplings which took over an hour to get. The pool was nice, but when I asked about how often it was tested on a daily basis, no one had an answer! If you are from the US, NYC, this is NOT a resort. One step from glamping to me. The breakfast was okay, but there were bugs all over the pineapples and a few guests like myself were horrified. I also had to fight off the birds who were like vultures looking for food at your table. I would NEVER return here, AND I left early because I had had enough. College kids, ok, but not discriminating adults!

Love the scenery,and the ambiance,but the standard rooms need to be upgraded,but overall it’s a lovely place to vacation with kids or just as a couple or by yourself
Love the welcoming complimentary Drink which was offered to US.The staff was pleasant,especially the young lady I meet,cant remember her name,but was on duty between 23,24 from 3-11pm and have three kids,but looks like,she just finished High school.well done.keep up the great customer service,was very helpful and helpful in meeting our needs

This hotel has an old school look which is its charm. The common areas feel cozy with the dark wood decor yet the openness of the dining veranda and lounge areas maximize the flow of ocean breezes. Combined with the friendly, helpful staff, you can’t help but relax.

The property is beautiful and well maintained, just cross the street and you are on the beach. Everything was gorgeous especially for picture taking.Then you get to your room. We expected resort and got bland hotel. There's nothing resort like about the service, the room looked decent when we walked in, not as nice as we thought, especially for the girls who got the executive room. The beds were hard, didn't sleep well the entire time, everyday I was promised a mattress pad and never got it. They seemed to be low on everything, towels had to constantly be asked for, the rooms weren't properly cleaned particularly the bathroom and we weren't messy,all they had to do was make the beds and wipe down the sinks. One day we returned from the beach to then change for dinner and the room was never touched, there were no towels, even though we did not leave them on the floor so they wouldn't take them, I almost missed my ride because I was late. Calling down to the front desk was a hit or miss. Breakfast was pretty good, we did have to ask for utensils and napkins. I was never around for lunch or dinner but according to a couple friends lunch consisted of a sandwich. We couldn't get information from the front desk regarding car service but did get a great guy Andy. Didn't bother with the spa morning I wanted to have because didn't want to chance whether it would be good or not. If you only need a place to sleep then this is fine, but Tropical Pleasures in Plymouth is cheaper

I visited Tobago January 23-27, 2020 and on February 2, 2020, my body is still paying for it. My room's door latch was broken and had no connecting piece to latch the door. I came with friends who were in the room next door and both of our room key cards stopped working multiple times. My friends' room being the worse as they had to enter their room through my room door most of the trip. My room had ants continually on the bathroom counter and main room's dresser. If you are American and use wash cloths to shower with, bring you own. The property doesn't carry them. I understand that in the Caribbean it may not be a popular item, but they receive quite a bit of American travelers that would use them. The towels they did have were often stained. I was told that laundry isn't done everyday so there could be a shortage of clean towels. Dining in the restaurant for breakfast is a game of Slap Yourself and Keep Away as you're constantly bitten by bugs and the birds are constantly landing on your table. The pool had lose tiles and the seats at the swim up bar had jagged edges. The property definitely needs updates and repairs. The worst of it were the mattresses. It felt like sleeping on non-bendable metal springs with a thin piece of cloth pulled over them. I woke up the first day with serious back pain and it hasn't subsided yet. The staff is hospitable and as helpful as possible.
