The room had all kinds of stuff that you would just expect a hotel like that to have all together. The curtain rod was laying on the floor and couldn't close all the way so napping was tuff. On vacation and wanting to sleep in wasnt ideal. There was wires hanging out of the mirror that looked horrible. One of the lamps on my side of the bed the light bulb was hanging by the wires. The shower rods hardware was put together all the way. So moving on to breakfast, at this hotel breakfast is 7am to 10am i showed up at 9:30 and there all the eggs where gone and also all the sausages. There was a hotel staff person that is in the breakfast area the entire time, i asked for more and they said \"sorry its to close to 10am to make anymore\" that being said when i am on vacation sleeping in and a later breakfast is what we are all about. Breakfast having a cut off time for food should be told to you on move in not that yes we have breakfast from 7am to 10am

The room did seem neglected and had bad looking carpet stains. The heater in the room did not work but the staff member came quickly to resolve it. The staff treated us great and was very courteous and accommodating but it's not a $200 a night room. Very oitdated.

It was very clean and the staff was very nice. We enjoyed our stay. I do have a suggestion to upgrade the toilet in the bathroom, it was very old and small, not the most comfortable to use. I recommend an oblong and ADA height. I would stay here again.

Wow wow wow! I’m not someone who takes the time to review place but when I woke up, I told my partner I was going to leave a review.
I should start by saying we got in late at night after sunset and left very early in the morning. If there was breakfast, we didn’t get a chance to try it.
The front desk staff in the evening was incredibly friendly, warm, and greeted with a big smile. Was happy to give recommendations for dinner when I asked. She was wonderful.
We were so tired, we watched a little TV in bed before quickly falling asleep. I dont sleep well when I’m away from home but this bed was 10/10 SP COMFORTABLE! And the pillows… I questioned if I could ask to buy one. I have never slept more comfortably in a hotel in my life and I travel fairly often.
In the morning, I woke up to see just how beautiful our view was. You have to get a room with a balcony facing the water! I watched a couple of harbor seals (just feet away!) and the shore birds in the very short time I had before we had to pack up and go to continue on our road trip.
I am so sad we were in a rush to leave because this place was amazing. Highly recommended.

The property is aged. Our shower had old holes in the wall where the old curtain used to hang. No attempt to cover/repair it. Also floors are thin, could hear people upstairs walking around at 2am. Beds were comfortable & loved the deck overlooking the river. Staff was super nice & very helpful which is what made me score this a 4. Very walkable to a great coffee place, restaurants & shopping along the river.

Overall we liked this property. Large room, good restaurants nearby, and convenient location. The in-room amenities were lacking (only one small bar of soap, no hand towels for bathroom, no bath mat, no shampoo or conditioner or body wash). My wife and I enjoyed our stay at River House Inn. Our goal was a few days of relaxation by the river and enjoying shops and restaurants at Old Town. River House Inn was perfect for this. We had a first floor river view room which is right on the river. River House is conveniently located on Bay Street with easy walking distance to Old Town. The only drawback was that the room didn't have good noise insulation. We could hear noise from neighboring rooms and the room above plus vehicular noise from the bridge nearby.

It was really nice to be just on the edge of town and to be able to walk to coffee spots, restaurants & the marina.

We've stayed here several times but this was our last stay. The location is great, but this place is not. The units are run down, not cleaned well, the carpeting is dirty, the sink faucet was broken, holes in the wall in the shower, walls are so thin we heard our neighbors throughout the night, etc. Overall, not a relaxing or comfortable place to stay. They are not keeping the rooms clean or updated at all.

The property was quiet and beautifully situated on the river with incredible views. The bed was very comfortable and had great shower pressure. We were able to walk to numerous spots for coffee, lunch and dinner. Loved the screen door however I was disappointed to have a camera on our balcony that I could see in the mirror while in bed in our room, felt like an invasion of privacy and wanted to keep the curtains open with such a great view but was unable to. Didn't really utilize the private balcony as much due to this which was a reason I booked here. Everything else was top tier.

The view was pretty BUT we were on river side and the bridge was very very noisy, every time a car or truck went over it it made a terrible noise all day and night. I would rate it a 4 for view and a 2 for accommodations. The bathroom was old and tiny, the rooms were cold and unappealing. Not worth the $250.00 plus that we paid. The shampoo they gave us was minuscule. It was a disappointment.

Great location, so-so motel

The location is fantastic. An easy walk to cute historic old town. However, whomever designed these rooms in the 60s for some reason put all the plumbing on the wall that would have otherwise been a window to a river view. The room was clean but very dated and a little beaten up. Cabinets were dinged and scratched, one of the walls had been almost punched through from the door being opened too hard (doorknob went through wall), and there was a strange musty smell of old building materials. An odd smell I know from working on cleaning up old rental houses.
It would have been nice if the tv would allow us to log into our streaming accounts.
The town seems to lack any upscale lodging which is too bad because the town itself is so charming. The people were nice at the hotel and breakfast was okay.

Great location. Noise from vehicles going over the bridge but not enough to disturb our sleep. Room could use some touch up paint, and the closet had only 2 hangers. Chair in corner looked tired. You have to request housekeeping service, but had no issue getting fresh towels, glassware, etc. Not an issue for a short visit. Would like to have an extra blanket available in the room as bedding is very lightweight. WiFi service was good.
