The management policies at the hotel are ridiculous! Check in is not until 4, check out is at 10 and the clean your room at 5 when you’re getting ready for the evening.

The hotel is somewhat remodeled but has a ways to go to be in good shape.

Have stayed here a few times, and it’s always our “go to” when we are in Orange County. Love the property’s location… so close to shopping and restaurants, and within walking distance to the beach and pier (just under 1 mile). The room was great; spacious, clean and comfortable with a balcony and slight ocean view. We will be back!

Pool furniture is filthy dirty.

Nicest thing was the vanity and the jacuzzi tub. And the bed was nice.

TVs technology is old. Needs to be easier to watch netlfix and other apps. Not user friendly.

Corridor carpet is filthy and walls are marked everywhere.

I saw some reviews of people that had bad experience this year but for me it was start to finish just marvelous.

I made sure on Expedia I bought a room with an ocean view which is wonderful but of course it's several blocks from the ocean, but it's way better than the freeway view.

There's coffee in the room and it's about a 5-minute walk from the main drag the Avenue Del Mar in San Clemente where there's all Shops and restaurants, and it's about a 5-minute walk from the bagel shack.

and I didn't use the pool or any other amenities but I slept in a beautiful clean spacious room with a big beautiful clean bathroom and just completely enjoyed myself in the town and in the facility with a wonderful kind multilingual staff and just overall excellent excellent experience.

I think I got free parking by purchasing through Expedia and I'm not sure if there would have been a parking charge; I didn't really check that in detail. In any case I didn't pay for parking by booking through Expedia I believe. Probably worth checking for sure if you book here.

Very convenient location in San Clemente. Room and bed were comfortable and the hotel was quiet each morning. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The pool/hot tub area was a bit tired and sun worn. Everything worked and was useful at the pool but it did not fit with the rest of the property.

When we checked into our room we didn't have a tub/shower as reservations had stated. They did give us another room after about 40 mins later but I had to go down stairs to find out what was going on. The attitude of the one woman behind the desk was not caring at all. Next room they gave us came with a tub/shower as promised but NO balcony. In the morning went down stairs to get a cup of coffee for my wife and self and NO creamers so I asked the man behind the counter if he had any and was told NO, they only get one box???? 2 hours later when the day manager came on there was the creamers. The room was very worn and the tub had terrible texture on the bottom of the tub. This place has really lost its luster!

Exactly what we needed for our trip. We were happily surprised at the quality of this hotel for the (off-season) price. Perfect location. Clean, comfortable room. Free parking. The property is close to the highway but we had no issue with noise. Walking distance to all the downtown spots. It’s not a fancy hotel, but it worked great for our visit to attend a friend’s wedding. We didn’t check out the pool or hot tub, but they did tell us those were available.

Nice hotel in a great location to explore San Clemente. We took train from San Diego so didnt have a car. Easy enough to get to from train station. Quiet and peaceful location, close enough to walk downtown but not too loud from night time crowds. Overall the staff was friendly and let us check in a couple hours early. Room was large and clean, we had a nice balcony. My only complaint was about the pool. We were traveling with 3 year old and she really wanted to use pool. We had to walk back and forth 3 times, twice because our keys wouldn't open gate to pool, he kept giving us new keys, until finally we were able to get into pool area. But then we learned there were no towels, so again had to walk back to front desk. you would think the guy at front desk would have mentioned something about towels one of the 2-3 times we checked with him about the pool.

This is our regular hotel when we go to San Clemente (about 5-6 times/year). Everything was top shelf in terms of cleanliness, staff friendliness, etc. The only disappointing things were I could not make tea in my room and my room was in the corner where the ocean view I paid for was somewhat obstructed.

Worth the price? Not in my opinion. I’m sure back in the day this was a beautiful hotel, but now, it is not as beautiful as depicted. Does not seem like there was any effort to upkeep the hotel property and room was just decent. But I don’t expect much out of a hotel room besides a comfy bed and honestly, it was not.
While everyone else around us got to check in before 3:30, we were told we had to wait until 4.

Didn’t check out the amenities outside the room but I’d be willing to bet they were absolutely fine. The room was good but the evening worker lacked customer service skills (which hurts when you expect a warm welcome). The jacuzzi was too hot, uncomfortable m. The paint was even peeling off. We told the front office but the temp didn’t change. We asked for towels and the person at the front desk told us that they will give us towels the next day. Our experience could had been better m-I had family stay there too, we were disappointed.

Wouldn't recommend walking back up the hill 😊 There is a free shuttle bus that comes around right by the beach. There’s also a train that goes to Oceanside and other beaches by San Clemente Pier.

I extended my stay and made every effort to ensure payment was handled correctly. I called the front desk to confirm the charge, and I even went in person to ask if my physical card was needed. The receptionist assured me multiple times that the card on file had already been processed.

The next morning at 9 AM, I was woken up by the same receptionist stating she was unable to run the payment—implying that I was intentionally avoiding it. My card had an issue earlier that day, so a processing error was possible, but the interaction felt unnecessarily accusatory.

About 30 minutes later, she called again saying her manager wanted my card “in case I left without paying,” which was both unprofessional and disrespectful, especially considering I had proactively tried to resolve this in advance. I even told her multiple times that I would come down shortly to provide the card, yet she still came to my room and knocked on the door, which felt intrusive and unnecessary.

This was perfect. My friend’s band was playing across the street and we were able to walk to dinner. Go see my friends band and then hit a bunch of clubs down the main street and then come back to the hotel. It was great.
