I enjoyed my two-night stay and am glad I chose this hotel for my first visit to Dana Point. The staff was cheerful and friendly. The room was much larger than expected, with lots of windows, a beautiful beach view, and a spacious balcony where I spent hours reading and listening to the waves. I also appreciated that there was no daily housekeeping, which suited me perfectly.

The hotel is older, and there are a few things future guests should know. While located directly across from the beach, the hotel is separated by a busy street and the railroad tracks, so traffic and train noise are noticeable. The bed was firmer than I prefer, the sofa was low with flat cushions, and the bathtub had no grab bars or other safety features, which could be a concern for some guests.

Overall, I’m glad I stayed here because the ocean view and balcony made for a relaxing getaway. This stay gave me exactly the peaceful retreat I needed.

The only positive experience we had was the helpfulness of the front desk person, KC. The room was very old. There were only three hangers in the one closet that was in the room. It was very dingy. There was no telephone in our room to call the front desk so we had to physically go there each time there was an issue the pullout bed/couch had the coils coming out was so uncomfortable. You couldn’t even sit on it yet alone sleep on it

Breakfast mediocre, but individual coffee service in lounge excellent.
Room had only one chair and a high bed, making it impossible for two of us to be seated at the same time. That small detail made the stay uncomfortable and greatly reduced our enjoyment of the trip and opinion of the hotel.

There is a restaurant/Bar next door that on the weekends plays very loud music with a DJ. Plus lots of drunk people all around yelling in the parking lot right next to our room. Windows and doors let in all the sound so we couldn't sleep at all. Plus I was so worried about safety because you could just walk onto the property and get to the rooms. I was not relaxed at all so we left the next day. The rooms look nice in pictures but that was it The bathroom was pretty but the shower was cold for like 10min and with no water pressure. We chose this hotel for the beach across the street which was beautiful but this hotel was not safe enough for my family of young kids. They did not give us a hard time when we cut our reservation early. Which we appreciated.

I arrived at 5pm after driving for 6 hours and was informed my room was not ready and that I would need to wait another 20 mins. Upon arrival there was a gentleman in front of me that had no reservation and was given 2 rooms on the spot. A reservation should come before a walkin. My room is my room. It should not be viewed as AVAILABLE to give to someone else.

The woman at check in was rude about the situation and downplayed me waiting. Check-in is AT 3!!!! My room should have BEEN ready and waiting for me at 3!! I paid for MY ROOM from 3 to 11 the next day. Yet, it wasn’t ready. She said it was fully booked the prior night so housekeeping was having a hard time cleaning.

Bathtub had dark hair in it. ICK!!! Sink had rust and leaked on the counter the whole time literally wetting my cosmetics bag. Furnishings are very cheap, uncomfortable and not welcoming at all.

Spa closes way too early! Closing around 11p or 12a would be much more appealing. People spend the day at the beach and it doesn’t even get dark until late. Which left no time to enjoy it. Towels ware awful!!! Mine had RUST stains on it. I would never offer those to my guests. And a set of 4 wasn’t even present! Coffee in room was also very poor quality.

Bed was comfy. And view was gorgeous.

The woman at the front desk needs an attitude adjustment and training on how reservations work!!

Everything was very nice given the level of the hotel. The view is spectacular. The breakfast is adequate but not hot other than great waffle makers. The staff is very helpful. The hot tub is hot and provides a nice view from the area looking at the ocean. The garage is clean and sufficient.
It overlooks PCH but the closed windows muffled the noise.

This hotel was in a decent location, but unfortunately, there’s no access to the beach directly across the street. You have to go over this ridiculously huge bridge in order to get to the beach, which is a very rocky beach so we just drove to Laguna each day. One thing I was very disappointed in was the fact I specifically decided to book this place so I can relax in the hot tub and look at the ocean. The view from the hot tub is good. However, the hot tub did not have any jets flowing whatsoever. So it was pretty much like taking a bath. For the first two days, the hot tub was ideal temperature but towards the end it got lukewarm. For the property managers this is something where a little can go a long way.! just fix the Jets to appease your customers. It’s really not a hard thing to do. And I would imagine it would boost your reviews a ton if the hot tub actually had jets. We also had trouble sleeping some nights because we stayed on the second floor and the floor above us, you could hear everything. Anytime someone moved any furniture or walked fastly you could hear it.

I absolutely loved the patio and the view. My trip was a much needed respite. And breakfast was an unexpected surprise; offering cereals, milk, waffle presses, fresh fruit, and free coffee all day. Staff was awesome! Especially DJ!!! Thank you DJ, I appreciate you! I hope to be back some day.

The hot tub was nice and warm and overlooked the beach. Super close access to the beach & dining options. Our beds were cozy and and the AC was great! We will definitely stay again.

This is my 2nd time staying here. Last year I had a single king with a balcony and ocean view. This year was 2 queens and an ocean view. The room was huge, much bigger than I expected. I was pleasantly surprised. The couch in the room was old and squeaky, but the beds were great. Loved the view. Beds were comfy. This room was much quieter than my single room. The breakfast wasn't huge, but it was free and it was a huge help because we were running late and needed something quick. Quiet, amazing location and the parking is perfect. We will definitely be back!

I initially booked one night in a two-queen suite via Hotels.com. The following evening, I called at 9 PM to extend my stay. Though my original room wasn’t available, the receptionist assured me that I could move rooms the next day and that I could stay in my current room until the new one was ready—no need to leave the hotel. The next day, the receptionist on duty (the manager) denied this arrangement ever existed, and I was told to leave. Only after I insisted they confirm with the previous staff did they ‘let it slip this time,’ implying I was being dishonest. I felt disrespected and let down by the inconsistency in service and tone.

The second room I booked was an ocean view only to find it out it was partial ocean view and my request to change the room was denied by the same manager.

I would have expected more professionalism and accommodation from a hotel manager!

Breakfast options are basic, prepackaged pastries were disappointing.

A note was posted that jacuzzi jets were not available to turn on. That was a bit disappointing. Rooms are located near the main street so we heard traffic and passing Metro train, through the night. Breakfast was more continental than a full breakfast. Overall stay was great.

1st, DJ, The night attendant front desk was great, very friendly and knowledgeable! We decided to spend our Anniversary at the Beachfront Inn & Suites this year and everything was good. Room was clean, loved our balcony partial ocean view. My favorite place to sit & relax. We enjoyed being able to have a nice dinner within walking distance! We did check out the complimentary breakfast. Enjoyed the boil eggs, OJ and banana among the other breakfast items displayed. Parking was underground which was nice, no problems. I hope they are able to fix the spa jets, maybe next time we will come back and enjoy it more. It was nice and warm and we did enjoy looking at the ocean. Keep up the maintenance, it's a great hotel!

It is a nice hotel, a little difficult to navigate inside because of the property design but once you get it, it's easy.

It's in front of the beach but you have to cross the street. To be able to get to the beach you have to climb a very steep stairs once you crossed the street (no elevator available) or have to walk to the nearest pedestrian crossing.

The cabinet needs cleaning and the caulking around the tub, inside the tub, around the toilet and other few other places needed new caulking. The staff was ok. Had to tell them to refill the waffle mix.

The rooms were in terrible condition. Dark mildew in the bathroom, layers of dust around bathroom door, hair on floor that was NOT ours, couch was not cleaned for quite some time, we did not even want to use the pull out bed option as there was food and other dirt in the couch that looked like it had not been cleaned for months/years. Our patio was a puddle as water was leaking down from the pool area to the outside drain in the morning and flooding right outside our room/patio area. We could not even sit outside to enjoy the sunrise. Breakfast did not have many options. The view is beautiful but the Inn looks very outdated and weathered. Staff was nice.

Although the location and overall property is nice, the place is outdated and could use some cleanup. Room was spacious but lacked any sort of personalization. One framed print in the entire place made it feel empty and blah. Hot tub was lukewarm and jets weren’t working.

I love this property! Great location near my favorite Aliso Beach. Close to Laguna Beach and and Newport but much better price. Great convenient parking. Good breakfast included. This place was perfect for what we were looking for. It was beach close, peek a boo of the ocean, complimentary breakfast. The staff was pleasant and helpful. They had great communication. The only negative was that the slider did not slide easily likely due to the salty air. We had a great stay!

The king suite is the best room at the property. Beautiful big windows and overlooks the beach. There’s a hot tub and continental breakfast in the morning. It’s roomy for a family of 4. There is a mini fridge and microwave. Not a ton of restaurants in walking distance, but the beach is super close. It’s a short drive to restaurants and stores. Parking is $15 a night.
