The public onsen was very accommodating. The outdoor tub was one of my favorites especially with the perfect view of Mt Fuji. This is a resort which I was unaware of and kinda wished I stayed another night.

Getting around is limited however. Taxis and buses are not too common.

My wife and I stayed at La Vista Fuji Kawaguchiko to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it was an absolutely memorable experience. The facilities are top‑notch, thoughtfully designed, and very well maintained, creating a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere throughout our stay. Cleanliness was impeccable, from the guest room to the shared areas, everything was spotless and well cared for. The service rendered by the staff was excellent: warm, attentive, and professional, which made our anniversary celebration feel even more special. One of the highlights was the stunning view of Mount Fuji, which is truly breathtaking and well worth mentioning. Waking up to such a magnificent view made our stay unforgettable. Overall, it was a perfect place for a special occasion and a highly enjoyable stay.

Stunning view of Mount Fuji. Hotel is very isolated and unless you have a car you will struggle to find anything. Staff at the hotel found it very amusing that we couldn’t beaccommodated for dinner and there’s is nothing to buy in the hotel.

I booked this property last minute while traveling solo and exhausted. The location and views near Mount Fuji are beautiful, and the room itself was clean.
However, the stay fell short in terms of guest support and service. I encountered issues with basic amenities and had difficulty getting assistance when I needed help. When I attempted to escalate my concerns, they were not resolved, and communication was challenging due to the language barrier.
Ultimately, I chose to leave early because I did not feel supported or comfortable continuing the stay. At this price point and star rating, I expected high quality guest services.
This property may be fine for travelers who are very self-sufficient and fluent in Japanese, but I would caution solo or international travelers who may need assistance during their stay.

We loved our stay at La Vista. Was blown away by the view of Mt Fuji from our balcony even though it was a bit of a cloudy day. Welcome drink + coffee machine in the lobby with a view of the moutain is superb! Loved the private onsens as well. Did not try the public female/male ones. Room was very spacious and luxurious even with an extra adult and toddler in tow. We had a hire car (highly recomend for the Lake Kawaguchiko area) otherwise the hotel does have a courtesy bus at various times. It is a bit of a splurge staying here but well worth it. A highlight of our trip!

This property offers some of the best views of Mt. Fuji—absolutely stunning and crystal clear, with the serene lake creating a perfect backdrop. We stayed on the top floor and especially loved the private balcony tub. The room was peaceful and cozy—tight for two people, but well-equipped for a short stay, including a fireplace and a kitchenette with thoughtful extras. The bathroom was compact but manageable. The hotel has a unique Mediterranean vibe, which felt different for Japan, but came with great amenities like a bar, lounge, and on-site restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. Vending machines and ice were conveniently located on multiple floors. The staff were very friendly, and the grounds were well-kept. While the building and rooms could use a bit of updating, the views more than made up for it—especially from the lobby. If you’re coming for Mt. Fuji views, this is the place to be!

Hotel was great but the spa was not. My friend and I booked 120 minute massages. The quality of the massage was okay but the massage was cut 10 minutes short and the masseuse left for 15 minutes during the facial part. They put a face mask on us then left the room for 15 minutes. We would hear them in the other room and it sounded like the were cleaning up and trying to close up early as this was we were their last of the night. I checked the time when we were done and it was 5 minutes short as well.

We paid for 2 hours and the massage part only lasted about an hour. Unacceptable to cut it short and to leave the room without saying anything for 15 minutes in the middle of the massage.

This hotel offered incredible views of Mt Fuji and was the perfect location for a couple of days of relaxation at the end of our trip to Japan. The room was clean and well appointed and I loved that there was a bath with a window and view of the mountain. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the hotel was really quiet so I was able to sleep like the dead. We opted for the half board option and I’m so happy that we did because there weren’t any restaurants close by for dinner. The food at the hotel was excellent. As was the service. I would definitely recommend this hotel is your travels bring you to Mt Fuji. You will not find a better hotel than this one for sure!

The property location is stunning as you can probably see. The lobby has a lounge with view of Mt. Fuji. With welcome drinks and free coffee, it’s the perfect place to chill.
The private onsens are a nice touch with 5 different rooms to try. I preferred to sit in the hot tub in my room to have the view of Fujisan though.
The only downside of this place is that there is only French restuarant with a set menu. It would have been better if it was Alacarte. There are no nearby restaurants so I ended up skipping dinner that night, luckily there is a breakfast buffet which I recommend!
This is the perfect place to take in the beautiful view and relax!

True to its name, this is a villa with superb view of Mt. Fuji. Staff were courteous and professional. Rooms were spacious and clean. A suggestion: please advise the guests, in English, that the bath tub’s water will automatically turn off in 5 minutes. (We were anxious that the bath tub might overflow.) 😆 Other than that, the dinner and breakfast were excellent.

Love the hotel, could not have a better location of viewing Mt Fuji and Lake Kawaguchiko. Beautiful architecture. Fabulous rooms and amenities. HOWEVER, my husband and I were very disappointed, slightly shocked, that we could not be seated for dinner when checking in at 630pm. The hotel staff knew from email communication that we had traveled all day because we pre-booked the last shuttle. Hotel location away from town does not have other options for guests (without their own car) to find a meal. The front desk staff and dining room hostess would not even check to see if we could pay for a plate of rice!! Management should plan for new guests to be saved a few seats for dinner.

We booked this hotel for its view of Mt. Fuji which it delivered. Besides that, this hotel is average at best. It’s a very old facility. It seems like you can’t control the AC in your room, after asking them they might enable it for you, but then the AC unit would not give any cool air, just warm. You would be spending thousands of dollars, but they don’t even help moving some items for your comfort. The cleanliness was also subpar, as you would see mold in the shower.

Very traditional with excellent views

La Vista is set quite high up so if you're coming on the tourist bus (red line near stop 17) like us it's a bit of a mountain goat trek up the hill. If you have heavy bags it would be advisable to get a taxi. But when you get to the hotel the view is awesome.
I think all the rooms have a view, and we were lucky that Mt Fuji was visible and the day was lovely. The bathroom and balcony overlook the settlement below and the mountain.
The rooms are quite traditional but comfortable and clean. Ours had twin beds which were quite firm but I think this is standard for Japan. The TV had no English speaking channels so that was a waste of space. The staff were nice but most had poor English so there was a bit of confusion with a few things. We were told there was a light meal served in the bar at 6pm but when we went down there it was only a selection of 3 biscuits so poorly described (more \"afternoon tea\"). The restaurant was fully booked so we didn't really eat that night.
The breakfast was quite varied but more traditionally focussed than for Westerners. There were enough options but it was definitely aimed at locals not tourists.
Again tho, our main reason for booking the hotel was for the view, which was excellent. So all up I think we were happy with the choice and the view lived up to expectations.

Beautiful hotel with a magnificent view of Mt Fuji. It is a grand yellow hotel nestled in the hillside so the hotel itself is quite picturesque. We booked a room with a private indoor onsen with a spectacular view of the Mt Fuji from the room including from the onsen. The water was hot and relaxing and the hotel has free bath salts of several fragrances to add to the water. The breakfast is quite good with a large variety of food. Dinner also has a lot of variety and quantity. It is not directly in Kawaguchiko and is about a 15 minute drive away from the station with a free hotel shuttle to and from the station. Definitely worth it for the view.

We had a fantastic stay at La Vista Fujikawaguchiko. The service was excellent, from the friendly reception staff to the attentive dining team. The food was delicious, and they kindly accommodated our dietary requirements, which we provided in advance.

The views of Mount Fuji were incredible, and we especially enjoyed the bathtub on our balcony. The private onsens were a highlight, and the small touches like free ice candy and complimentary wine made the stay even more enjoyable.

I did not enjoy my stay at all . There’s spider net up on the ceiling and the room was extremely hot and unable to adjust the temperature on my own . The first night my daughter and I were up the entire night , is how hot it was in the room .
The location has a stunning view of Mt Fuji yet that is the only bonus . There’s no restaurants around and the only dinning option is hotel 8 meal course which was not delicios at all .
If you want to go to the town , you need a cab so it’s about $70 back and forth . Unless you have your own vechicle which we didn’t. The onsen was nice yet other then thar it’s not worth staying here . I would not come back to this hotel as there are multiple other options which are more affordable , clean and convenient.

We showed up for the Mt. Fuji marathon and paid a higher than normal price to stay here. We arrived at 5PM and asked to have dinner and they said no because the dining room is full. However, We had friends who checked in before us who went to dinner and confirmed it was actually not full at all.

We then asked what we can eat or if there was room service. They said that most things are closed and we have to take a taxi to all of them anyways.

For the marathon the following day we asked for help getting a taxi to the start and they were of no help. We saw a hotel car and they said they don't start service until after the marathon had started and the return service was hours after the marathon had ended. They told us to walk ...5KM in the morning of the marathon and back.

Just so that it's clear, I had emailed them multiple times leading up to arrival and no response. I assumed (incorrectly) that they'd at least have food available for hotel guests and since there was a shuttle and many marathon runners were staying there the shuttle would run. But nope. It was the worst stay on my entire trip to japan.

We enjoyed a 1 night relaxing stay - the staff are very polite and friendly. Our 3 bed room was spacious with balcony which had table and chairs, the lakeside view was great though the clouds hid Mount Fuji from view :(
Our bathtub had the same lovely view! The room had generous toiletries, tea, fresh coffee and pyjamas etc. The choice of breakfast options was good, it was aimed more at Asian than western visitors. The free evening wine and ice cream was a bonus! We didn’t try the public baths as the bath in the room was enough for us. We recommend this hotel for a break from city sightseeing!

We absolutely loved our 3 day stay at La Vista. The property is situated so you get a beautiful view of Lake Kawaguchiko and Mt Fugi( when weather is clear). Suggest staying a day or two to improve your chances of seeing the great Mt Fuji. It’s a fun Japanese style hotel with friendly staff and wonderful resort wear( pj, robes and loads of slippers) that you are encouraged to wear around the resort. The spa baths are great and when we were there in Oct, not crowded. They also have a shuttle that runs frequently to Kawaguchiko Station that was very helpful to get us to transportation to see the sights. Will be recommending to our friends.

Its a beautiful spot away from the hustle and bustle. Amazing views of the lake, surrounding areas and of course Mt Fuji!!!! Via our own private onsen and balcony. Gorgeous! Great size room with an amazing view of Mount Fuji and a bath on the balcony (very private). The staff is absolutely lovely and they will do anything for you to have a memorable and incredible stay. They have so many freebies as well (juice, wine, snacks, ramen). There is a full amenity section as well in case you need anything. The only caveat (which they tell you in the confirmation email) is that there isn’t a lot around and the restaurants close early, they do offer dinner on site which you need to reserve ahead of time. We had a little walk around and went to Lawson to grab some snacks (which is 20 minutes away on foot).

Every member of the staff except one, was kind, polite and helpful. The manager declined to allow me to eat dinner because i had no reservation. There are no other restaurants nearby. And he said getting a cab would take awhile. I am a 62 year old person with back and hip issues. Instead of finding a solution he sent me down a very steep road to the 7-11 2 miles away. This is an expense resort and there was no explaintion that dining in the hotel was the only option. I was embarrassed and disrespected by only one person. Otherwise it would have been a lovely visit.

The hotel deco is slightly old style. Room is spacious with good view. Onsen is lovely. Staffs are friendly. And buffet breakfast is plentiful and many choices.

Exceptional place. Clean, beautiful rooms with a great view of Mt Fuji from inside and from the balcony if the room is facing the Mt Fuji side which most are. Breakfast was a delicious buffet of Japanese and international food. The onsens (they have shared and private ones) were clean and authentic.

The property is half-way up a little hill so it's very quiet. The rooms and dining room have an excellent view of Mt. Fuji. Our room (2 twin beds) is of a good decent size and has a bath tub and balcony facing Mt. Fuji. Buffet breakfast has both Japanese and Western dishes - lots of choices and very tasty. There is also a free late night snack of ramen. There are also 5 private baths and one public bath. All very well maintained and clean. Service is impeccable. Would definitely stay again and recommend this to my friends.
