Like a lot of Japanese apartments and houses, this is run by a local Japanese family for over 30 years. The owner came out to welcome us when we were parking our car. It is very thoughtful to provide a small wagon to transport luggage’s from the parking lot to the house.

The front office has lots of cat decorations and the whole villa has several cats sitting or walking around which adds fun and has amused our kids. Owner also recommended many attractions and activities in Fujikawaguchico.

The house is big for the family of 4 and has floor heating in the dining room. We liked there are 2 washrooms, and they put towel supplies for both days of our stay. There are seasonings and cooking oils provided, and EVEN plastic wraps which is very useful for packing sandwiches for our lunch. The hot spring is comfortable and there were very few people after 8 pm.

The villa is a few minutes walk from the lake. There is the cherry blossoms festival during our stay so several streets are lightened up at night. We couldn’t get up early so didn’t get to see the reflection of Fuji mountain (6-8am).

Overall, we highly recommend this place.

The perfect base for experiencing Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchiko
From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond — greeting us warmly and taking the time to walk us through everything: how to get around, the best spots to see Mt. Fuji, and local recommendations. Their hospitality was truly off the charts.
The room was spotless and comfortable. The hotel offers a free shuttle to and from the train station, which made getting there completely hassle-free. Location-wise, you really can’t do better — it’s just a two-minute walk to the cherry blossoms and the lake. We woke up to a stunning view of Mt. Fuji in the morning, which alone made the stay unforgettable.
After a long day of walking and biking around the area, the onsen was absolute heaven — the perfect way to unwind. If you’re visiting the Fuji Five Lakes area, this is the place to stay. The kindness and attentiveness of the hosts made it feel less like a hotel and more like staying with family.

A wonderful blend of modern comfort and traditional bedding experience. Absolutely loved this place, with a spacious cozy clean apartment all to ourselves with heated floors, beautiful Mt. Fuji views, and the lake just a short 2-minute walk away. Warm hospitality throughout thanks to everyone who works there, absolutely amazing and if only we had stayed bit longer with better weather! The hospitality is top notch here. This villa has an airb&b vibe. It is not as fancy as other hot spring hotels but if you are looking for a family place that is quiet and relax, this is the place. The front desks were so helpful. We received a binder on where to go, food options, etc. And he even helped us figuring out how to get to our next destination. I will definitely stay here again.

My wonderful experience at Lake Villa Kawaguchiko

I normally don't leave reviews but this is an exception. The village was amazing. Aesthetically it's gorgeous, the view of mount Fuji was breathtaking, the house is clean and has many amenities.
A big plus is that the owners know English and they helped us a lot finding places to eat and gave us a lot of useful advices on where to go and what to see in the Kawaguchiko area.
Overall an amazing experience and I can't recommend enough.

We had such a pleasant stay at Lakevilla Kawaguchiko! The place we stayed at was so clean, comfortable and came with everything, including a kitchen, dining area and living room. The whole area was so peaceful and safe with a beautiful view of Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi nearby.

Most importantly was the hospitality and excellent service we have received. We were treated like family. We would definitely recommend Lakevilla Kawaguchiko to anyone who would like to visit the area of Mt. Fuji!

During my visit to Japan, Lake Villa Kawaguchiko emerged as a standout experience. Hiro, the host, was exceptional. Hiro's fluency in English made communication effortless, and he ensured constant connectivity through channels like WeChat, WhatsApp, and FaceTime. The villa itself is a haven—well-maintained, fully equipped, and boasting a mesmerizing direct view of Mount Fuji.
Hiro’s thoughtfulness was evident throughout. He provided coupons for local attractions, free shuttle rides to the Panoramaview Ropeway and even arranged a sunset bicycle rental when most places were closed, graciously waiving off the rental fee. Another convenience was their service of ordering and delivering meals from top local restaurants right to my room.
Upon departure, Hiro’s team stored my luggage, later meeting me at Kawaguchiko Station for a hassle-free handoff. The villa's proximity to the serene Kawaguchi Asama Shrine added a peaceful dimension to my stay. A delightful surprise was the villa’s self-planted corn, incredibly sweet and juicy – a must-try. And for feline lovers, the adorable cats at the front desk add a cozy touch.
In essence, Lake Villa Kawaguchiko offers a blend of luxury, convenience, and genuine warmth. It's more than just accommodation; it's an experience I wholeheartedly recommend.

The place was a complex of a few cottages surounded by greenery and flowers. Very nice place, close to the lake kawaguchiko. The house was spacious and suited us in size. The house had a fully equipped kitchen and we could prepare a meal. There was a dining room with a large table and very comfortable chairs. The shower and bath were also comfortable. The bedrooms were on the top floor of the cottage which was led up by quite steep stairs. One room had two beds, and the other room was traditional Japanese style, sleeping on tatami mats. The owner was very nice, explaining about the house and the area, giving us some ideas for our day trip. This place was the highlight of our trip because we woke up in the morning to see the beautiful mount Fuji, very clear with its snow cap on top. By the lake it was even more impressive. We loved the house and the whole area of lake kawaguchiko.

Amazing stay at Lake Villa Kawaguchiko. It was around a 6min walk from the bus stop (check bus times as they often stop running quite early in the evening).
The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful during the check-in process. They provided us with pamphlets and tips about local sightseeing destinations, how to travel to each place, and food recommendations. It's also only a ~5min walk to the lakefront, where it is popular to see the sunrise over Lake Kawaguchiko with Mt Fuji in the background (highly recommend). And there's often a food truck that stops outside the villas for breakfast in the mornings.
The area itself is a small group of villas (super cute layout). Our villa was very clean, warm, spacious, and homey. There were only 2 of us, so we had the choice of staying in either the normal beds or their futon beds.
The villas also had a shuttle service for our luggage after we checked out which was incredibly helpful (they transported it to Kawaguchiko station for us - need to liaise the timing of this with the reception staff). Highly recommend this stay!

The villa is exactly as described and what we were looking for. The view is perfect, the service excellent and the accommodation very good.
with choice between Japanese style and western style the bedroom fits everyone.
The location is 5 min walk from the shoreline, but the view of mt Fuji is from the house itself.

Even though it is self service, there are food trucks in the morning as well as lunch/dinner so very easy if you just want to relax.

Fantastic, marvellous and wonderful stay.

The hospitality we received was remarkable. We contacted via WhatsApp and they gave us instructions clearly how to come to the villa. They also provide free shuttle service from Kawaguchiko Station. On the day of arrival, they even whatsapp to ask if everything is alright and coordinated the time to pick us out of the shuttle bus service timings. On the way to the villa, we wanted to drop the grocery shop to buy things. He drove us there and waited for us while we bought the food stuffs for 30min. Upon arrival, we were greeted by 3 of them. They were so friendly and explained all the things for checking in, travelling within Kawaguchio, where to see Mt Fuji and even ask for our plans returning to Tokyo 2 days later. We were also blown away with the view of Mt Fuji from the villa. It was unbelievable. The red line of the tour bus station 16 was just 3-5min walk. The lake where u can see the sun rising to see the reflection of the mt Fuji was just 5 mins walk. There is also common Onsen in the villa. It was awesome. The villa had all the facilities you can ask for. We prepared our breakfast and dinner during our stay in the villa. They even came to our villa to explain all the amenities and how to use clearly. The villa we stayed had spring water mini osen too. Most importantly the view of mt Fuji was beyond words and we were mesmerised the 2 days we were there. We love the place so much and we will defiantly go back because we love the hospitality and the location.

Everything about Lake Villa Kawaguchiko was amazing! The check in was easy. They explained the property and room in detail. They recommended nearby food and attractions and made us feel very welcomed. All the staff were so polite. I spent 2 weeks in Japan (Osaka, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Tokyo) and only one night was in Kawaguchiko but it was the highlight of my trip, no exaggeration. The kindness that the staff showed me and my wife left such a heartfelt feeling of kindness, they really made us feel welcomed. The room we stayed in was so huge! The best part for us was trying out the onsen, then grabbing a few beers from the vending machine right outside and relaxing in the Japanese style dining area. The lake shore to view Mt Fuji is really just a 3-4 minute walk from the site. I hauled my camera backpack and full size tripod to take night photos without any problems. Finding the location wasn't too much trouble at all from the nearby bus stop (5 minute walk maybe?) and after we checked in the staff asked if we'd like to arrange be dropped off at the main bus station in the morning. I highly recommend this property, and I will absolutely stay here again next time I visit Japan!

Simply the BEST!!!!!!!!! Before we arrived, the host/owner of the villa, Hiro-San gave us plenty of tips, ideas, advice and recommendations regarding Mount Fuji. Hiro-San’s brother picked us up from Kawaguchiko station which helped us a lot especially when we had heavy luggages. When we arrived at the Villa, they hosted us at their warm and cozy reception and went the extra mile to help us book our tickets for our bus ride to Mishima station the next day and even helped us with directions to Kyoto. Hiro-San then brought us to our cottage which was simply amazing! It was cozy, clean, had really almost everything you can think of, even the carpet flooring had heating. He orientated us on the apartment and we were pleasantly surprised that he upgraded our cottage to one which had a private Onsen. The private Onsen experience with a cold beer in freezing temperatures is really an experience not to be missed. I would also recommend you trying the takeout food they offer. The rice dish and sushi is the best takeout food I have eaten. Hiro-San also played an extremely pivotal role in helping me with my proposal at 7 in the morning in a freezing cold weather and even managed to get a rose. He even brought us to Asama shrine despite a busy schedule. After we checked out, he even took time out of his busy schedule to bring us to hike up Chureito Pagoda for picturesque photos. Thank you Hiro-San and team for your warm hospitality. This experience will be forever be etched in my memory.

All services are generously provided with comprehensive explanation of in-house facilities and advice for local excursions. The owner can communicate in fluent English. It would be better to stay more than one night as you have to check out by 10am presumably to allow sufficient time for thorough cleaning. The only comment is that normal beds are located not in doored room and thus less privacy.

I've been travelling to quite some places around the world, especially in Euro-Asia. Lake Villa Kawaguchiko is so far the best place I've stayed at. The host, and all the crew members, were all very warm-hearted and always ready to offer you a helping hand. The villa is so well priced, so well located, so spacious, so clean, so tidy, so stylish yet also traditional, so warm even in the coldest winter days that I travelled. I will come back to Mt. Fuji area, and I will definitely stay at this villa again! You won't waste a single penny you spend on this lovely villa!

A Gem in Mt Fuji

Top notch in every department! Thank you to the wonderful hosts who never say no to anything. Their hospitality together with the beautiful cottages and the majestic Mt Fuji fronting the villa made our stay truly memorable. Clearly the hosts took pride in their property as the cottage was impeccable! It was spotless and the bedsheets for the futons were crisp and smelled fresh. Even their pet cats seemed well adjusted there as they were a delight with the guests! Will definitely return and stay longer next time.

The owner Hiro-san was very helpful by providing information on how to get to his property prior to arrival. Upon arrival, he gave us wonerful suggestions on itinerary when and where to view the Mount Fuji. You can tell he is really proud of his hometown! The cottage has a very cozy feeling and a full kitchen for us to do our own cooking. Because of last minute cancellation from another guest, we got upgraded to a cottage with private onsen for up to 2 ppl. I would give this property 6 Stars if I can. Would love to come back again!

Amazing experience! Loved everything... Charming villa, warm hosts and a gorgeous view of Mt Fuji. Be sure to book your free shuttle bus service! It is a distance from the main station but not to worry, there is a restaurant just 3 min walk away. They can even drop you off at a supermarket or convenience store to get some takeaway food before sending you from the station to the hotel. Food order delivery service from a few eateries is available through the hotel until 7.30pm. Enjoyed the public onsen too (there is an indoor one as well as an outdoor one). Cannot recommend it enough!

From the pre arrival help via email to the meticulous attention paid to our well being during our stay from 31 May till 2 June, to the after check out follow up. You can feel his passionate wish to ensure your stay was impeccable and beyond excellence. We were very pleased with the entire property in terms of the location, cleanliness, spaciousness, comfort, amenities and warm feeling. We were at a loss for words with the hosts' friendliness and helpfulness. The entire ambience of the stay was very warm. We will definitely stay at Lake Villa Kawaguchiko again if we should holiday in Fujikawaguchiko again. A fantastic and amazingly beautiful family hotel. Even have you own hot spring in your unit. The hotel owner Hiro is very friendly. He will recommend you where to visit and which restaurant is good. They have a lovely cat and you can play with it. It's just 3 minutes away from the lake and Mt Fuji view. Highly recommended if you want to have a super relax holiday. We just wished we could stay few more nights. Definitely will come back during autumn time..

Perfect spot for Mt. Fuji area activities

We stayed for one night only at the villa in early April. What a pleasant surprise it was, arriving to find that our villa had been upgraded to one with its private onsen! The villa is quiet and literally minutes away from a good Kawaguchiko lake side viewing spot for Mount Fuji. I wish we had stayed for longer, and will certainly return again. Only thing about the location is that, it would be better to have a car to get around.

A hidden gem to view Mt. Fuji

I had a truly fantastic experience staying at the cottage. An absolute value for money piece of a gem, the cottage offers a serene surrounding as well as a great location to view mount fuji right in front of Lake Kawaguchiko. Our host, hiro-san and his team of well mannered service personnel were enthusiastic in promoting the area and were warm and friendly towards the guests. Not to mention that the property also has an onsen which provides a pleasurable experience in the countryside. We will definitely come back again.

This place was amazing! Cottage style, with two bedrooms (one traditional japanese style and one western style) upstairs, living/dining, full kitchen and bathroom downstairs. The service was great. Staff (Hiro) top notch - so nice and attentive. Hiro gave a great recommendation for dinner and told us a lot about the area. Really, I can't find anything I didn't like about the place or the people. The day we left, Hiro took a picture of us in front of Mt. Fuji, and then sent me an email with the picture to make sure I had a copy of it. This is not your typical impersonal hotel. Wish I could have stayed longer. I highly recommend!

お部屋は清潔で綺麗に保たれていました。従業員の方も親切で、観光情報など詳しく教えて頂きました。夜はBBQを楽しみました。コンロからテーブル、椅子まで全て用意してくれるので、手軽です。各お部屋の前庭は植栽で仕切られていて、プライベート空間で楽しめました。
露天風呂から見える富士山は最高です！
またお邪魔したい思います。

スタッフの方々は皆さん感じが良く、説明も丁寧だった。部屋の設備は決して新しくはないものの、とても清潔で快適に使えた。特にトイレが綺麗だった。何より河口湖のすぐ傍にあり、富士山がよく見えて最高だった。しかも周囲は静かな雰囲気で、非常に心地よく過ごすことができた。

很棒的飯店

這次的住宿體驗非常的好，入住時間剛好遇到了下雪，但屋內暖氣、地暖、空調常開，一點都不覺得晚上寒冷。
安靜的環境，走路不用幾分鐘就可以到湖邊拍照。
事後才知道，因為住宿期間遇上下雪，老闆還很貼心的提前聯系我們，可惜因為我們是外國旅客，所以沒有聯絡到。

寝巻きが無い、3人の客にタオルが二枚しかない。あじ首にダニに噛まれた跡があった、水のボトルがゼロ(小さいホテルでも有る、お風呂のバスタブがヌルヌル、コンセントのプラスチックが欠けている、3人で7万円ではかなり悪い、惜しい、狙いは良いが基本ができていない、おお風呂は誰も居ない。

旅館外可以見到富士山，很美。旅館很整齊、乾淨，廚房設備齊全，屋外可以BBQ，旅館亦可代訂晚餐。員工熱情推介附近景點，亦會安排退房後將行李送到車站，讓我們可以輕鬆遊覽景點。整個住宿體驗完美，期待下次再入住。

快適なコテージでBBQ・バス釣りを満喫！

広々としたコテージは隅々まで掃除が行き届いており、タオルや寝具も清潔でとても快適な滞在でした。河口湖まで徒歩で数分なので、釣り好きな主人は早起きしてバス釣りを楽しんでいました。
BBQセットをお借りしましたが、準備・後片付けはスタッフの方がやってくださり、手軽に楽しむことができました。車で数分の距離に大きなスーパーがあるので、食材やお酒の調達にも困りません。
スタッフの皆さまもとても親切で感じがよく、とても楽しい滞在となりました。機会があればまたぜひお邪魔したいです。

また利用したいと思えるおすすめの宿です！

まずフロントスタッフの皆さんが親切で気持ちよかったです。近くに食事ができるお店がいくつもありますが、大晦日を過ごすため我が家はスーパーとコンビニで買いこみました。ファミマまで徒歩10分くらい、セブンは15分くらいだったかと。ちなみに12～3月まではBBQはできません。河口湖（富士山の眺めが良いスポット）まで徒歩3分程度でしたので、夕方外に出てサンセットを楽しみました。波があり、逆さ富士は現れませんでしたが、翌朝波の穏やかな時間帯は観れました。大浴場は15：00～23：00、翌朝7：00～9：00まで入れるとのことでしたが、早朝チェックアウトしたため朝は入りませんでした。温泉ではないのでしょうが水質は良く、適温。富士山を観ながら入ることができ、女湯の洗い場は3席、混雑もなく快適でした。備え付けのアメニティはリンスinシャンプーだったので、トリートメントくらいは持参すればよかったです。ドライヤーの風量はかなり弱いですが何とか乾かせました。バスタオルや浴衣は有料と思っていたのですが、Hotels.comからの予約であればバスタオルについては無料で用意してあるとこのと、知らずに持参して荷物になってしまいました。フェイスタオルは付いています。部屋は広く清潔でした。ベッドルームは和室と洋室があり、3名の宿泊だったので洋室にはベッド2つのところエキストラベッドを1台入れてくださっていました。和室の布団も使ってよいと言われました。施設内で猫を飼っているようで家族の1人が猫アレルギーのため少し反応が出てしまいました。それ以外はすべて快適に過ごせましたので、またBBQのできる季節に利用させてもらいたいと思いました。

Great location with access to the lake/ beach in a couple of minutes and views of Mt Fuji direct from the property. Fantastic service from the guys at reception; from the shuttle bus to sightseeing advice, sorting extras out in the cottage and helping us with escaping the typhoon. The best and most genuine that I’ve experienced! Thankyou again for letting us stay with you.
