The spacious lodging was charming, very clean and the locale is terrific. The owner, Ursula, went out of her way to help on everything. It is the polar opposite of a large, impersonal hotel. Location - It is in the charming area of Rome known as Trastevere, and just off the Tiber River. I walked there to see Pope Leo at his Audience at St. Peters's Square. It is an even shorter walk to the Panthenon, Trivoli Fountain, the Spanish Steps and myriad other tourist highlights. There is no shortage of excellent restaurants and shopping opportunities within minutes of Residenza delle Arti. The Piazza is a happening place with gusto, street performers and the world class Basilica di Santa Maria. As a photographer it is a beyond terrific locale. This was the second time we stayed in Trastevere, and on our next Rome trip will again stay there. Enjoy!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Residenza Dells Arti. It was comfortable, beautifully maintained, and had
such a welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. We appreciated the thoughtful touches and the care you’ve clearly put into creating such a pleasant space. The number of restaurants within walking distance was impressive. Being able to walk to the various landmarks was a plus! That being said, taxis are always close by. We highly recommend this property and hope to return in the future. Thank you for making our time here so enjoyable

Residenza delle Arti is a rare jewel. Perfectly located in Trastavere close to the Tiber and easy walkable Trastavere area dining & attractions as well as river crossings to the heart of Rome’s most famous sites i.e., Fontana Trevi, Collesseo, Via del Corso and Vatican City’s Saint Peter’s Basilica et al many more; lace up your comfortable walking shoes. Spacious, clean, well appointed rooms with luxurious bathrooms. Grazie Mille host Ursula for a wonderful stay in Rome.

We enjoyed our stay at this property in the Trastevere area. Ursula was a great host. Very walkable, and lots of great restaurants and gelato shops in the area. Only downside was a VERY loud AC unit, but there were earplugs provided in the room to counteract, as the property is located along a very busy street as well.

We loved our stay here! The property is so fun and artsy. I think our room was the largest we had during our whole trip in Italy which was a nice surprise. We had a little sitting area and a spacious bathroom as well as a bed and a sofa day/bed. The windows were lovely as they opened up and at night you could fully black them out which was super nice! The room was also very nice. Ursula and her son were SO kind and welcoming. They walked us through everything and how to use it so we didn’t have any questions. We often struggled with locks at other places we stayed as they’re different from what we are used to, but not here. Everything was super clear and communicated. It was also very clean and tidy. They also helped us to book airport transportation for our flight out of Rome. Would definitely stay here again! Highly recommend!

This is a comfortable & clean place to stay, in a great neighborhood. I had a triple room with my sister and friend, and the room was big enough that we didn't feel crowded. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast available was nothing fancy, but totally sufficient. I'd stay here again.

Urzula made our visit to Rome incredible!!! Met us for an early check in after our transatlantic flight and helped us so many times with where to go - restaurant recommendations and everything - even surprising us with a little champagne and cake for my birthday on our first night! Location fantastic for getting around - a bit of a busy street but everything else about the room was amazing and Urzula’s attention truly made everything worth it!!! Nice variety of little breakfast treats, including some meats and cheese and fruits for me (I’m GF) and the room had big windows and shutters and the chining bell tower across the street was like out of a movie! Highly recommend!

We stayed recently for 5 nights. Our hosts, Urszala and her son, David, were just the sweetest and nicest people. They are very responsive if you need anything at all. She even decorated our room for our anniversary and left us a little bottle of Prosecco as a welcome. The room was very clean, bed and pillows are super comfy!! the shared kitchen area is very convenient and well stocked (coffee, tea, snacks, fruit) easy grab and go for breakfast. The location is within about 1.5 walking miles of all the sites and right on the bus line to the train station. The very best gelato we found is right behind the guest house. There is a little road noise because it's located in Trastavere right in a busy area so that can't be helped. The only suggestion I have is to repair the vintage parquet flooring. My husband said it sounds like walking on potato chips. Other than that, it was a great value and a very pleasant stay.

Ursula was such a kind host along with her sons who were both very helpful. Driving up to the property feels like you’re on a rough neighborhood but it’s completely safe and next to the best dining options in Rome. Taxi stand around the corner. The room was spectacular! There was a small issue with the bidet but that was not a necessity for us. Ursula provided us with some free beverages anyway because she truly felt bad it wasn’t resolved before we arrived. Some street noise but nothing out of the ordinary. Would recommend this place for anyone traveling to Rome.

Probably the best host we have ever experienced. It was raining a lot and the host and her family helped us tremendously both with the check-in and finding parking in the area. They went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great stay. Ursula is a sweetheart. The place is close to everything - landmarks around the the city and great restaurants. We had a really nice stay! The location is great for exploring the Trastevere area, so many amazing restaurants, bars and gelato nearby. Urszula and her son Lorenzo are wonderful, such friendly hosts. They added many special touches which made the stay even better. Bedding was very comfy including the kids bed, even though it’s on a main road we didnt hear any noise and the room can be made very dark for sleeping. Breakfast is a great start to the day and we loved our time here - perfect for our family of 4! Grazie

Common kitchen and pantry area that serves the handful of rooms is well stocked including fresh fruits, vegetables, pastries. Fridge with more breakfast items as well as stocked non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages are always available - and you keep track of your room's non-gratis items via handwritten chalkboard. Wonderful location to walk in any direction desired. We definitely hope to return here on our next trip to Rome.

Urzula was a fantastic host, as was her son whom checked us in, looks are very deceiving from outside, once in it’s like a time warp, beautiful and quirky.
We found some of the best restaurants around the back of the property, but loads in front tucked away.
Very easy to get to from the airport by train and then tram (tickets sold in the kiosk across the street) the tram stops around 20m past the door.
We walked everywhere after that to all the sites, as all very easy to get to by foot.

When we first pulled up to the property and saw the street block is covered in graffiti we were a bit worried but the minute you are greeted by Ursula you feel so welcome and cared for. Ursula and her son, David, are wonderful hosts, explaining the area, the coffee machine, kitchen use, etc. The area is very convenient with tram & taxi stand less than a block away. The room was spacious and comfortable, very clean, with a large, very clean, very nice bathroom and big closet. A big window looked over the square. We loved getting b’fast right outside our room, so easy, and could make a cappuccino/espresso and a snack in the afternoon. We had good dinners at restaurants in the area behind the hotel, a very lovely area, and much quieter than the area across the street which also has many cafes, and shops, but is more crowded. Despite a lot of graffiti on the buildings the area felt safe to us and we were very comfortable walking around at night. Ursula helped us with our luggage and had a car arranged to the airport (55 euro, very much worth it). We hope to return as there is so much more to see in Rome and this was a wonderful place to stay!

We stayed here for 5 nights in April.
Urszula ordered a taxi to pick us up from the airport for 55€ which was well worth doing after an early flight.
We were greeted on arrival by Urszula who was very welcoming and explained everything to us.
The room was more like a suite and very comfy with a very powerful shower.
There were lots of choices for breakfast which you just helped yourself to between 8 and 10 and ate it in your room.
The location was great with an ATM machine next door and a taxi rank and bus stop down the road.
We chose Trastevere to stay in because of the great variety of restaurants and bars all in a small area. A perfect choice for the evening. The hotel is just across the bridge from the centre of Rome so everywhere is within walking distance.
We would definitely stay here again.
Urszula’s hospitality was second to none.

Warning to be very aware that this is the WORST experience I have ever had and I have traveled all over the world.

1. It is not a hotel
2. There is no one at the property to assist
3. It is in a very UNSAFE neighborhood (my family and I were traveling in Italy and I ended up staying an extra night so needed to book at the last minute. My brother walked me down to the property and took one look and said you were absolutely not staying here. Not to mention that we could not get a hold of anybody to even gain access to the property and several hours later when I had to book an alternate room, the individual that claim to be representing the property responded back to me.)
4. Expedia did their best to help resolve, but the property never responded nor did anything.

Do not make the mistake of choosing this property in Rome as there are so many wonderful places.

THERE IS A REASON IT HAS A 10 RATING !!

With Air Canada losing my wife's luggage, our European sim cards not working & our lack of ability to communicate locally (Italian) Ursula & her son went OVER & ABOVE to help us get Helens suitcase (be it 55 hours later) safely to her property, prior to us leaving on our cruise. THEY are AMAZING people !!!! the property itself is GREAT, we love to walk & found that while the property was not in the specific old downtown, it is in a vary vibrant area of Rome known for its many restaurants, bars & markets. Unfortunately we were not able to take advantage of the breakfast offered, but there were take away snacks available that we took advantage of. They even offer an honesty bar service from the fridge which is great after a 10 - 12 hour day seeing the sights. IF we ever return to Rome this WILL be our place to stay.

note: the property (like most) in Rome is located in a busy area of the city ... IF U R looking for a quiet out of the way location this is NOT it, but if looking for an amazing place in a 'want to be' area - book away

This is a really fun space with enthusiastic and helpful owners. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of complimentary items to enjoy. The location is within walking distance to a great number of great eateries and historical sites. It is Rome's hippest neighbourhood. That being said, that does mean the streets are busy and there will be noise late into the night.
Also, I advise that if using this hotel, it is more like a B&B and so there is no 24/7 front desk. You will need a way to phone or text the owners for check in.

Ursula the host was extremely friendly, their whole family were helpful to us, and too bad we only stayed one night. The room was twice the size of a comparable value room in Europe. We understood there will be some noise as the windows face onto the main road, if you are afraid of noisy lively neighborhoods then don’t come to Trastevere and leave Rome immediately.

Really enjoyed staying here. The place was very nice - massive thick doors, high-quality windows, floating wood floors - along with its terrific location, and the service was outstanding. In our case, when the airline lost our bag for 4 days and then surprised us with unscheduled drop-off during the middle of our Sunday evening food tour miles away, Ursula even volunteered to bicycle to the place to assist. Recommend it.

Plenty of options to dine and drink in Trastevere, you will be spoilt for choice!

Urzsula and Renato were amazing hosts, they really went above and beyond for us, they told us the best spots to eat & drink. They also arranged our taxi for our return flight as we had to leave early hours in the morning.

Our room was cleaned daily, breakfast was good and the aircon was lovely, as it was really warm during our stay.

After a long journey to Rome due to our flight being delayed, we were surprised with welcome gifts in our room, as we were in Rome for my fiancé's 30th Birthday. It was such a thoughtful gesture and it really made us feel at home.

We will be recommending this hotel to all our family & friends. We loved Rome and would definitely stay here again.

Great location for foodies: the hosts are the BEST

Love this cute little hotel! The rooms were immaculate, the location in Trastevere neighborhood is great if you are a foodie. Excellent restaurants where the locals eat and far less expensive. It is close enough to walk to some of the sights, but super easy location to get to taxi or bus/trolley. The BEST part of this spot are the hosts, Urzula and Renato. They are the most gracious and kind. I will go there again just to see them.

Not only the residence is beautifully decorated and well kept, the person who runs the place is exceptional and I can’t stop thinking at her and her wonderful family. AMAZING place! Great location, great facility, and AMAZING hospitality!!! Would HIGHLY recommend. Shops and restaurants right outside the door. Short ride to airport, short taxi (10 euros) to tourist attractions like the colosseum, pantheon, etc. Is close to the river for nice walks. Appreciated the early check in. The breakfast was incredible (croissants, cappuccino, fruit, meats, etc). And our hostess came in early to give us breakfast before our early departure. Could walk to the Vatican if inclined. Our sincere gratitude. Of all the places we stayed on our 10 day trip, when visiting our daughter who is studying abroad for NYU, this was the best! Wish it had been for more than one night. Again, HIGHLY recommended!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!

Best Hosts in Rome!

It was hard to find at first. I asked so many people where the address was and nobody knew until I happened to ask the business literally right next door. However, the location in Trastavere is perfect for exploring Rome. There was a train and bus stop right outside and all kinds of restaurants nearby. It's a happening area so I would recommend bringing earplugs.
Inside there is a common kitchen area almost like a hostel and the room I stayed in was very large, as was the bathroom, plus it was equipped with a fridge, a safe, a full length mirror, a magnifying mirror in the bathroom, lots of complimentary toiletries (soap, shower wash, toothbrush, toothpaste, Q-tips etc), and of course a bidet. It was spotless and beautifully decorated.
But here's the main selling point of this property: Ursula and Renata. The place is great on its own, but they take it to the next level. They go above and beyond from the moment you hit the door. I left feeling like I'd stayed with family. I cannot say enough about the quality of the hosts. They were fabulous and I would return in a heartbeat.

The hosts (Renato and Ursula) were great to interact with and went out of their way to make sure we felt welcomed. This would definitely be my first choice to stay if I get back to Rome, They even left us a personal note and a bottle of Prosecco on our last night.

Great Location & Value

Christmas break in Rome. Location was perfect for us, all the main sites in walking distance and an entrance to cobbled streets lined with restaurants just opposite. Room was large, clean and modern. Hosts very welcoming and pleasant.

I stayed here for my 6 day Rome trip and I cannot say enough great things about Residenza delle Arti! From the moment I walked in the door, Ursula and Renato treated me like family. They are so kind, sweet and genuine! Genuinely interested in my adventures everyday. It is located so close to every great restaurant in Trastevere for lunch, apertivo or dinner. You can walk to any sight or shopping in the city center in 10-20 minutes. The B&B is immaculate and exactly what I needed. I cannot wait to go back!

Excellent location, close to lots of lovely restaurants and walking distance to all the main sites. Very easy to get to from the airport. The room was really large and a nice view out onto the main street. We had a great welcome from the owners and they gave us a bottle of Prosecco and a toy for our son on our last night. Next time we go to Rome we will definitely stay here again.
