Very friendly staff. Comfortable room. Easily fits 3 and could fit 5 with the pull out couch. Walking distance to the main areas but this is a solid local spot with some unique finds. Fun to walk around the streets, lots of great restaurants, etc.

Close to the river and many attractions, this is the absolute most perfect place to stay in Rome! Just a block from two different taxi stands, it is located in an extremely walkable area, less than a 25 minute stroll down the street from the Pantheon. There are several fabulous restaurants just around the corner as well as a exceptional bakery and pizza shop which is the perfect spot for a snack or to pick up breakfast for the next day. Lots of space in the rooms and very quite. The antique chairs, dresser and secretary are among best furniture of any hotel I've stayed! The only caution is that there are steps into the bathroom, up to the toilet, and into the shower, so visitors with mobility issues need to be careful.

Folks at Sonnino were fantastic. Very friendly. I really enjoyed having our room made up each day. Was relaxing to come back to a tidy apartment. Rooms were very clean. Great location near river and restaurants. This was a few minutes walk to the busy areas so we found it very peaceful at night. Security was good. Thank you for a wonderful stay..

Sonnino Suites is a very small and homey hotel. Great prices! There is no lobby and only a receptionist during specific hours. The beds were very comfortable! Rooms were decently sized, bathroom was gorgeous but had a weird shower situation with no door for privacy. Overall 9/10

This property is in a good location. You are located where restaurants and shopping are accessible Trastevere. You have public transportation as you walk out the door. Sonnino was accessible in communicating to coordinate check in and out because you are on your own after check in. The lady that coordinated check in was nice. Customer service with the men there can improve. If you plan to use this place to just sleep this is an option. We walked to tourists location from this hotel. Location is great.

Our stay was very nice. We had a quadruple room and it was large and comfortable. The hotel is located in Trastevere just 1 block away from tons lot restaurants and shops. First time we stayed in this part of the city and we loved it. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful and checkin was a breeze.

Room was nice and clean. We were able to drop off our bags early to begin exploring. A/C was a plus in the afternoon. Be aware that this is on the fourth floor of the building. There a small elevator which helped with luggage and was useful at the end of the day. There is no iron in the room but we also didn't ask to use one. We would love to stay again.

The location is great. It’s a short walk to the Trastevere area which has great restaurants and bars. There are lots of shops as well. The building and room were beautiful. The AC was great, after being in the heat during the day! The staff were friendly and helpful. The lift is a welcome option to the steps if you have luggage to carry. We loved the option to check luggage there on travel days.

A great room for a family of 4. The location is walkable to the Colluseum and there is a taxi rank close by for longer trips. Just outside the BEST dining spot for evenings and a short stroll to the river. The beds were very comfortable and the room quiet. Staff very helpful, and the pick up from the airport was also great.

The room was very fancy, albeit a bit dated. We had plenty of space.
The TV was very small, but we only used it a little, so, not a huge deal. The shower was very small and the water temp was very inconsistent.
The staff was helpful. They helped arrange a car from and to the airport. The room was refreshed daily.
The reception area is not manned every day, all day. I left my key card in the room after hours and thought I was completely screwed. I called the number on the booking, and they instructed me on how to get the emergency key card from the outside lock box. OMG!! I don't know what I would have done if they hadn't answered. All that to say, this was a good hotel, near so many key areas. I would recommend staying here.

We'd wasn't as comfortable as we're used to and shower was a little small. Great for a couple nights! Everything was walkable, even though the area was a little dirty.

But bathroom is somewhat dangerous ( step up to get in it, step up for the toilet, step up for the shower). Great shower but bathroom is old, hair dryer would take someone with long hair 1 hour to dry. A bit of mold of the ceiling in the bathroom.

Avoid! Especially if you are a family

The rudest checkin I've ever experienced & it's safety is questionable.

They refused to give our son a bed even though we had already paid for it and produced the documents to prove it. We then had to pay 60 additional euro before they would give him a bed - holding a family of 4 ransom after a long day of travel. It started at 20 euro, then when we finally agreed to it to get some sleep.. it suddenly changed to 60 euro.

As per Italian law they take photos of your passports. But what isnt ok is they do so on multiple phones (!) which they walk around with and could easily be lost or stolen or compromised alongside the images of all your family's passports. The cleaner (!) who checked us in was on one of the phones the whole time messaging people so those phones are used for multiple functions which is not safe for devices use to take photos of such important documents.

The front desk is often not occupied so it's difficult to resolve issues at a time that is convenient for anyone other than the hotel.

The shower is covered in black mold and itself is the smallest shower I've ever seen, alot of people would struggle to move in it and so could easily slip/fall.

Avoid their airport taxi offer - its 50 euro
In any regular cab which is fixed price.

Avoid this hotel.

Great little spot within walking distance of many attractions (15 mins to the Pantheon, 30 to the Colosseum, and 40 to the Vatican), and there is also a taxi stand very close by. Tons of amazing restaurants in the neighborhood. The hotel itself is cute and the manager is very nice. They cleaned the room every day which was a good bonus.

Great location for walking to major tourist sites but noisy street. I asked about parking our rental car before the vacation and they didn't make it clear that we wouldn't have a parking space. They did help arrange a spot in a garage that was about a ten minute walk. Overall, lovely staff and nice room. People larger than 6'4\"tall or obese will have trouble fitting in the shower

We stayed here overnight for proximity to the train station at Roma Trastevere. Access was easy and communication was smooth via the hotels.com messaging system. The room was spacious, clean and easily accessible via elevator on the 4th floor. The host was kind and met all of our needs - even able to provide some extra pillows! Nice tall shower head, which I appreciated as a tall person. We would definitely stay again! :)

The room was spacious and clean, and the view from the window gave to a quaint church on Trastevere. My only complaint was that the building's door had a lock problem so it was always open, and the floor door to the suites was mostly open, so that I felt that the door to my room was accessible to anyone coming from the streets below, but that is most likely fixed by now. I would certainly stay there again if the occasion presents itself.

Amazing location! We had a quiet room and the bed was comfy. The reception was helpful in everything we requested for. The property is old and worn out but the location makes up for it. It is just opposite to the most buzzing area of Trastevere. Really enjoyed walking around the bars and restaurants on the river side and in Trastevere. The walk to central Rome is also not bad. The best part was knowing we wouldn't have to struggle to get back to the property later at night. Couple of amazing local bakeries also are around for a cheap but delicious breakfast. Gaaah I miss the Sfogliatelle at Giselda!!

The bathroom was a bit small and the shower was tiny for my 6'5'' husband. Our towels were changed daily though they could do with better cleaning - the TV remote was full of dust.

The view & location are the only kind things I can say about this hotel.
There is no hot water at this hotel. Water was blisteringly cold our last morning, so no shower and the other 2 days the water was luke warm at best. The building alarm also went off the last night of our stay around 12:30am for an hour while no one knew how to turn off, madness ensued and a peaceful and restful night was no where to be found. In the morning the staff (a woman) was not even apologetic and entirely not helpful. I’ll be seeking a full refund for my last nights stay.

The good: Great price, excellent location walking distance from the main attractions in Rome, and lots of restaurants nearby!

The bad: Loud! Right on the train line. I brought earplugs and it was fine. The shower is also quite small - particularly the door. I imagine some people would have a hard time getting in and out.

Overall would recommend if you're not going to be spending a lot of time there.

Appreciated rooms that put us in a neighborhood. The rooms were clean and comfortable and each room has it's own bath. Think the rooms are looking a little tired and could use a face lift but that doesn't stop you from having a good nights rest. Can't beat the price.

The very best thing about these rooms is the location. Trastavere Neighborhood is busy, vibrant and near basilica's as well as the river and the Jewish Neighborhood.

I would recommend these rooms to family and friends as well as stay there again.

Bit dusty!

Sonnino Suite is in the lovely area of Trastevere which has lots of choice for restaurants and cafes. But the room was not very clean, I had to dust the shelves and draws to put our clothes in the wardrobe we also had the window open for a breeze and loads of fluff and hair was blowing from under the beds. It is also quite noisy because the trams go past and it's on a busy road. We also had an early morning flight so asked the reception to book us their transfer service to the airport but it did not turn up! So we had to find a cab.

We stayed at 4 different hotels around Rome and Florence and this was the largest room, best shower, and best bed of the 4 hotels. The location is great if you are interested in eating and drinking in Rome. If you are trying to do more sightseeing (ie Colosseum / forum) you may want to look at hotels east of the Tiber River.

Cute place but lack of privacy

The place is well located and the room is cute. Unfortunately the isolation isn't very good so you can hear what is happening in the room next door or at the front desk. I was awaken by travelers doing their check in during the night and heard the front desk woman arriving In the morning.
So if privacy and noise isn't an issue for you, that's a good place. If you are sensitive, I wouldn't recommend it.

Location, location, location. We were more than pleased with our stay at Sonnino Suites. Very friendly and helpful staff who spoke good English. If you are traveling to Rome for a luxurious room, you’re doing it wrong. Excellent location not too far of a walk from Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, and even the Colosseum and Vatican if you are up for walking a mile. Not only would we book again, we already have. The room was very cleanly and the atmosphere was quiet. Perfect room for us, as we mostly wanted a clean place to touchdown and go to sleep in between our explorations of the city.

We stayed there the night before our flight home to the US and it was a great way to end our 10 days in Italy. We had been to Rome before and fell in love with Trastavere so we knew this location. Robert was wonderful and checked us in quickly and set up our airport transportation for the next morning. A/C was great and the rooms are nice!

We stayed at this hotel because of it's great location.
Restaurants are on your doorstep and it's a great wall into and around the city.
I would definitely recommend staying here. The only things I can think of are there were no drink facilities in the room and our shower would get blocked duing use.
Over all we had a super stay at this hotel.

Great value hotel in good area

We loved Sonnino Suites, probably mostly because it was located in Trastevere which is the perfect neighbourhood to stay in for bars, restaurants & sightseeing.
The room was clean, had air conditioning, lots of space and really great value.
Would definitely stay here again.
