The room is a one star at the most. The sink in the bathroom was leaking. The fan was working with high speed and wouldn't change. The bed was of very low quality with the pillows having some funky smell. The only positive thing is the kindness of the people working there. I will not go back.

We stayed in Crystal Sands beach for 7nights.. and it was absolutely amazing experience. Staff in hotel was always kind, helpfull and tooked care about all our needs. Rooms are nice, clean and with perfect pillows and mattress. Hotel is located in perfect location next to sea. Manager Jack was so kind and nice! We already miss these place and we would love to Come back as soon as possible! I recommend these place for all travelers who want to explore great service and stay in cozy and nice place in Maldives!

The hotel is conveniently located ; the manager - Jack is very helpful . Staff like Imon; Murtaza Hossain ; Rabbi ; Jerry are excellent.
Food is ordinary and there are options around; so don't go for an all inclusive .
We had booked in a Beach View room; but there was no water in the toilet in it (106 ). When complained , the receptionist offered to give a down graded room stating no other BW rooms are available.. that was very disappointing and I asked them to refund my money .. Jak intervened and gave us an upgraded room - Ocean View - much appreciated.

Infact dont book a BV ...its dingy ; if you are looking for one might as well go for OV

The hotel is ok for the price. The service is not awesome, but not mediocre either. It's clean and room service is available whenever you need it. The manager Jack was really awesome. He provided us with an awesome experience. He even let us check in at 12:00 am. He is really what a manager should be. Definitely visit here if you are taking a vacation. it will be worth it. Thanks Jack!!!

Great place to stay on local island Maafushi. Staff very eager to please. Included buffet breakfast and dinner reasonable quality but great service. In need of some TLC however all immediate needs addressed promptly. Air con can get a little hot in the afternoons.

We stayed at Crystal Sands, Mafushi for 11 days and we enjoyed every minute of it.
The service from every single person we encountered at CS was impeccable! Everyone was so friendly and accommodating - they truly made us feel like we were at home.
Mohammed, Roshan, Jack, Iman have been gems;
From organising special dinners to telling us local restaurants, they ensured our every need was catered to and more.

We can’t wait to go back! If your expectation is a small boutique hotel and your aim is absolute service, this is the hotel for you! We can’t recommend it highly enough. I have stayed at many five star hotels like the Hilton, Grosvenor House, Sheraton etc but what makes CS different is flexibility and service.

Thank you SO much to all the staff at Crystal Sands, you truly made our holiday one to remember.

I love the fact the hotel is solar powered and only 4 years old since it was built. Maafushi is a small island so everything is within a walkable distance. The hotel itself is very close to the boat drop off point. Jack who is the manager at the hotel is very welcoming and very easy to talk to. He will give you the best recommendation. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very neat. Unfortunately the room we stayed at had a AC problem and our room never cooled off as we wished. The staff tried to fix it and they responded very quickly to the problem. We just dealt with it because we only stayed for two nights. Overall I definitely recommend this place. It's quite, clean and everyone is very nice! I would love to come back to this place.

Relaxed and friendly Island paradise

We spent 3 days at Crystal Sands on our way home after a month travelling and really appreciated the relaxed friendly atmosphere at this small hotel. The room was a bit small for 3 but we loved the balcony overlooking the water and being only across the road from the harbour and 2 min from the small sheltered beach made it the perfect location for day tripping as well as relaxing on the island. This is not the island for you if you want gourmet dining but we ate fresh seafood by candlelight on the beach and there are many local restaurants to choose from and several small supermarkets for everyday purchases as well as trinkets and souvenirs . Day tripping is easy with us choosing the hotel options as they were well priced and convenient. Staying on Malfoushi is a good way to support the local economy and get an idea how locals inthe Maldives spend the day. It is a beautiful place and well worth the visit even on a budget.

My wife and I just returned from a 7 days break in Maldives, Mafushi. I stayed at the Crystal sands. The hotel was lovely, all the staff were very helpful, polite in particular, the hotel manager, Jack does enything in his power to make sure you are happy with everything. On our first day we were give a room that had less windows and we were very disappointed but jack then asked us to wait for 2 days and moved us to a beautiful room with a balcony with plenty of fresh air. Food was ok, breakfast although is the same everyday. Dinner was good though probably the best in the island. We also did a few excursions at a reasonable price. Going to the local islands like mafushi is probably the cheapest way of visiting the Maldives, just don’t expect to get a first world services.

Super 2 thumbs up to Jack who has been superbly awesome and helpful from the 1st to the last minute. Very accommodating in answering all my questions prior to arriving in Maldives. Personalized service to us and will go all the way to ensure everything goes smooth as requested.
Even went all the way to providing us a room even after checking out already to rest for an hour and shower, after our excursion and moving to another island...
With all these, he never asked for anything in return. Jack is an asset to this hotel! We will be back soon...

Hotel staffs are very nice and friendly, fast response for the email inquiries pre-departure. Everything can be discussed - good services! Hotel location is very near to the beach, water sports and ferry terminal. The hotel is located at the hot-spot area, where music surrounded, a lot of people walking on the street; The staffs would recommend/ arrange activities for you, so you wont feel bored during your stay.

Crystal Sands was indeed a home away from home for us, thanks to Jack and his Team. It was an amazing, beautiful experience for both of us and now we have with us countless memories to cherish our entire life and wish to come back again. A special thanks to Jack for always being there!!!

Crystal Sands DEFINED our excellent experience

We arrived in the Maldives with a lot of preconceptions - that it's going to be pricey, and the atmosphere tense (because the current govt has declared an emergency). However, we were pleasantly surprised at the unbounded hospitality of the people, and especially the staff at Crystal Sands.

Jack was super considerate, providing us with an early check-in (a godsend, because we had a red-eye flight) and then arranging for the best excursions possible.

The snorkelling and dolphin tour was excellent, while the jet-ski and banana boat was crazier than a good roller coaster. I would highly recommend the breakfast buffet (the staff whipped up delicious vegetarian fare especially for me), and I would call out Tarang for taking exceptional care of us. Finally, we are glad that we did not cancel the spa package, as I had one of the best deep tissue massages ever, providing a perfect ending to a ten-day vacation.

Jack, & Maria check me in brought me to my room. Air-con turn for over half not cold, boil water kettle don't boil. They told me, I booked standard room this is what I get. I refuse to accept and went MAD. I know they bully me, because I alone and 65yrs old lady. Over 2hrs they bring me better room, they told me cause more, I refuse to pay. Air-con works well and kettle boiling hot, I drink HOT tea.

Good location, close to beach and harbour. Fab staff who looked after us really well. Great buffet style breakfast and evening meals. Only had lunch once on final day which turned out to be great quality so would recommend. Officially Maafushi is a dry island (like rest of the Maldives outside of the resorts) but it’s possible to spend a day at a resort (which we didn’t do) or visit one of the two live on dive boats moored just outside the harbour (we visited both - short free boat ride from the harbour) if you want a drink. Maafushi for us was best of both worlds; lovely holiday destination but also chance to feel like you’ve visited the “real” Maldives rather than just a resort.

We went here for the second leg of our honeymoon after staying in a beautiful resort as we wanted to experience the local island in Maldives. The manager tried to give us a room with no view at the back of the hotel even though I specifically had booked a seaview, after complaining, we were moved for the rest of our 3 nights - sea view was much better. The hotel was clean and simple. I would question the 4* rating of the hotel as there are not any facilities in the hotel. Personally wouldn't return as the hotel was still pricey given the simple facilities. The island was great if you wanted to use it as a base for diving, which is what we did.

Awesome stay!

I absolutely loved staying here. I wasn't happy with the first room they gave me because it had a side ocean view but they were super helpful and switched it for me to a front room. The front rooms can be a bit louder though so just make sure you know what you want. They learned my name right away and were very good with costumer service which is something I value greatly. This is the place to stay unless you can afford $1000 a night for a resort :)

It was an amazing experience to stay at crystal sands from arrival to departure. We were very well looked after and all our needs were met beyond expectation. All the staff were friendly and the food and beverage manager Mr Salim went over and beyond to meet our catering needs. Food was the best on island. I was told mr Salim was brought in to improve the catering as this was previously reviewed negatively on the reviews, he surely has made positive changes. I would highly recommend this hotels for all, I was travelling with wife and tho children aged 6 and 9. There was also a mosque behind the hotel which made it easy to go for all prayers incl. Fajar (before sunrise).

I had a fabulous time in Maafushi and a large majority of that is due to the amazing staff at the Crystal Sands. Jack, Envy and all of the staff were absolutely fantastic. They went out of their way to ensure that we had a most pleasurable experience. Remembering all of our names and greeting us warmly each morning and upon each return to the hotel. It is indeed a small boutique hotel right at the port of Maafushi. The beds were a bit harder than I would have liked but nothing that a mattress pad couldn't fix. Also, I think that fluffier (and a bit cleaner) towels would be great, but again, that may be due simply to the water on the island and. All in all, a great stay and not only would I recommend it, but should I return, I would stay here again!

1- transportation : very easy from male & cost only 40$ return per person ( when you make hotel booking call them & they will arrange transportation for you )
2- staff : very friendly & helpful
3- food : i take full board ( that was the only mistake in maldives ) in full board or half board you will have limited menue to choose but when you take breakfast only & pay for every meal ( lunch & dinner ) you will pay same cost 50 $ per person per meal per day ( but in this case you will have all menue to choose ) ( salad5 $ to 7$ main dish from 10$ to 25$ )
4- activities : so cheap you can make all activities there by 200$ per person
5- wifi : good in receiption but bad inside rooms
6- people is very friendly & honest ( i was keeping my money in hotel or any expensive items never been touched )
7- Difference between private island & public island ( private island more privacy & so expensive - public island for enjoy & cheap

I stayed in this hotel for 4N3D. I had a wonderful stay. The hotel room was clean. It is situated right in front of the beach and it made me fall in love with it more. My gratitude goes out to all the staff in this hotel. All of them were very helpful and accommodating down to the littlest thing I needed. Jack, the Reservation Manager, Maria, divers and everyone in this hotel they made my stay fun and enjoyable. The hotel also offered lots of fun activities. The best Hotel in The Maldives on a budget

The hotel service was exceptional from the time they picked us up from the airport in a speedboat, to the time they checked us back out and booked us a speedboat back. The rooms were nice but ensure you book the right type of room facing a certain direction like the beach or you will be staring out a wall. The food was ok but the breakfast was not up to par in our opinion with options and normal breakfast style foods. The excursions were a lot of fun from snorkeling to dolphin watching. Overall we had a great took on a budget.

Maldivian Holidays turns into Maafushi Holiday :-)

Excellent Hotel with exceptional services.....probably the best one in Maafushi, hardly a one minute walk from the harbour. Extended my stay by two more nights due to extra ordinary courteous staff. Hotel has it's own activities schedule for the whole week so you literally don't have to bother about anything. Went on an Three Point Snorkeling (with lunch on sand bank) and night fishing (with dinner) and thoroughly enjoyed.
A highly recommended hotel and I'll love to stay again.

The best hotel hospitality I've ever had

My wife and I booked this hotel for a week as part of our honeymoon and have Gotta say, we have never had such good customer service and friendliness before crystal sands.

Each staff member of this hotel always greeted us with a smile and a hello and constantly asked if we needed anything and looked after all of our needs.

Hotel is right by the harbour and also right next to the private beach with beautiful views from the hotel rooms and terrace.

I'd like to say the reservation manager (Jack) and also the front desk receptionist (Mahid) made my wife's and my stay the best ever and we can't wait to come back in a couple of months.

Good location in Maafushi Island. Enjoyed the stay. Very friendly and helpful staff. They assisted with all requests.

Only small drawbacks are the view to beach/sea that is somewhat blocked by a harbor/port building and a breakfast buffet that seems slightly limited. This however did not impact the stay at all.

A pleasant stay!

The hotel is located less than 5 mins walk from the ferry terminal. It's not so near to the bikini beach but just a short walk since Maafushi island is pretty small.

The managers and staffs are very friendly and helpful. We were greeted with heartwarming smiles. On our last night stay they even arranged for a surprise flower bed decoration for us. A very sweet gesture!

Thanks for the hospitality and we would definitely come back to stay again.

Spent 10 nights at Crystal Sands hotel and fully enjoyed our stay. Clean, only 2yrs or so old hotel with very friendly staff. The hotel organizes snorkeling, sand bank, night fishing programs, too at a reasonable cost. The Hotel manager helped us with all kinds of questions, I can only recommend this hotel to anyone.

This is a wonderful hotel. They are very friendly and helpful. Arranged a lot of beautiful places for photo taking and snorkeling. It is nearby the pier, so you can easy to find it.And the meals are also good. We have a beautiful memony in there. And we will come again.

Nice hotel near to beach

Stayed 2 nights experience with Crystal Sands was awesome.
Arrived Male city to Maafushi, we travelled by speedboat. Per boat is US185.
Four of us shared, 20-30mins we have arrived.
Due to arrival date, we couldn't join the snorkeling package etc as it started at 10am.
Happened that my friend said she would like to travel to Adaaran Club Rannakhi.
They are fast enough to arrange speedboat and called Adaaran that we will be going over there. Per pax is US70 including speedboat. Payment is made at Adaaran. We enjoyed the scenery, buffet lunch, cocktail bar, tea break till 5pm to pick us up back to Hotel.
Next morning, we have arranged 2 points snorkeling. Per pax is US35 include lunch, speedboat. We made new friends from Sweden couple and Sri Lanka good looking guys. Total was 8 of us.
If you are traveling 2-3 pax, it will cost US50. (10am to 1pm)
Last day, we get to go snorkeling again. We travelled to shark point, sea turtle point and dolphin watch. But unfortunately, we were unable to see shark and dolphin. Luck enough to see sea turtle. It might not be necessary to get to go for dolphin watch. Wherever you travel by speedboat, you can see them. Per pax is US60 include speedboat and drinks(2hrs).
Afterwards we booked Jet ski ride (10mins) and Fun tubes (up to 20mins).
It costs US75 for 2 persons. You may check out beside the hotel. They might have more cheaper price.
Beside our hotel, speedboat cost US150. If you are lucky, can share with others. Only US25 per pax.

Wonderful and accommodating staff!! They made my 5 year anniversary so very memorable.. This hotel in my opinion is a 5 star all the way for the staff.. They go above and beyond to make sure you have a awesome time!! You will not forget it..

Hade en schysst balkong med utsikt mot trädgården och delvis havet. Åt hotellets buffé i trädgården varje kväll, var mysigt att sitta där på kvällen. Bra promenadavstånd till allt. Nära båtkajen vilket är skönt vid ankomst och avresa. Väldigt trevlig personal, jag fick en frukost att ta med mig vid tidig utcheckning.

Excelente atendimento e equipe esforçada. Exceto o gerente que fez corpo mole para algumas situações. Pacote com café da manhã, almoço e jantar e tudo o que foi comprado foi entregue. Excelente localização.

the best hotel I stay in Maafushi!!

港の目の前で便利。可愛いお姉さんが受付で優しく対応してくれるし、すごく気が利いている。部屋も広く、服をかけるオープンハンガーあり。洗面所、シャワー部位も広く、お湯は湯量、温度とも申し分なし。朝食は食べてないから分からないけど、夕食のアラカルトはメニュー豊富。なんと言っても！屋外スペースもあるが、寛げる屋内スペースがあるのがいい。一つ些細だけど改善点を挙げるとすれば、もう一つゴミ箱が欲しいことかな、トイレ用のしかなかったから。他にも同様のお値段の所もあり、何軒か泊まったが、ここが1番綺麗で居心地良かった。
It's just infront of the marina. There're a cute, very kind, & have a good attention womens there. The room has plenty of spaces, there's a open cloak, that can hang many closes. The washroom & the shower room also had a plenty of space, & there's plenty of hot hot water! I didn't eat the breakfast, but when I went to eat dinner, there was many orders of alacarte, & delicious. There's seats in out & inside, I really like that. Only thing to be more good, is to have another garbage in the room, there's only beside the toilet. Although, I stay in other hotels in Maafushi too, but here was the most comfortable & clean hotel!!

働いてる人が気の良い人/helpful mind

チェックインの際、少し前に来たグループにエクスカーションを勧めたり予約して貰ったりと時間がかかり、なかなか進まず。また、少し無茶な要望だけど何でも言ってみてと言われたため、声をかけてみると、少し待っててと大分待ち時間が長い。一方、困ったことに対して、しっかり対応してくれて、感謝です。
建物は少し老朽化してるためか、廊下がミシミシ鳴ったり、鍵が回し難かったり。でも、1番大事なホットシャワーがしっかり出るし、港から徒歩5分ぐらいで港からのメインストリート沿い、夜も人通りがある所なので安心です。後、意外にwifiが良い方‼︎ 朝食はレパートリーは少ないけど、そんなに食べないのでオッケー。ホテル前の屋外で食べます。
送迎もエクストラが入ってない20ドルちょうどで、マネージャーかな?の人が、わざわざ船まで見送りに来てくれる。働いてる人はみんな良い人だと伝わってくる所でした。
In the check-in, another group was there, & need a lot of time to complete the excursion, I need to wait a lot, even if I'm running out of time. & the other time, they said if there's something worried, talk to them anything, so I talked to them. They said wait for a minute, & I waited morn than 45min. But they helped me a lot, many things, even if I'm waiting a lot, I met a very helpful people there.
The hotel is near & front of that main street, no worried to walk around in night & hot day. The building is quite old, so somewhere in the steps has a noise, & the doors key need a time to use. On the other hand, there was plenty of hot shower, & it's the most important thing for me.
The people working there, all have a very helpful mind, I very glad to stay here. Thank you so much.

Posizione ottima, a pochi passi dalla bikini beach.
Cibo molto buono e stanza confortevole e con tutto l'occorrente. Personale squisito, sorridente e sempre disponibili. Un ringraziamento speciale a Jack che ci ha fatto sentire come a casa, grazie anche a Roshan che si è preso cura di noi. I complimenti vanno a tutto il personale, fantastico. Che dire...lo consiglio vivamente e noi sicuramente ci torneremo. Vacanza indimenticabile!

Ottimo hotel stato diverse volte e non perde mai un colpo.
Un tre stelle ma che ormai con quel che offre potrebbe benissimo essere un 4 stelle.
Economico ma di lusso.
Camere moderne spaziose luminose e molto pulite personale gentilissimo divertente.
Il cibo molto buono se pensiamo a dove siamo, tutto molto fresco.
Hotel offre poi dei servizi settimanali di escursioni assolutamente da fare anche replicandoli tanto il mare offre sempre cose diverse ..
Servizio di nave per aeroporto su richiesta al costo di 25 dollari a tratta.

Che dire un paradiso in tutti i sensi.

Struttura molto carina e moderna, a 1 minuto a piedi dal porto, 3 minuti a piedi dalla bikini beach.
Personale molto cordiale e disponibile, tutta via ho trovato un po’ “invasivo” essere chiamata tutti i giorni alle 8:30 del mattino per chiedere se volessimo fare delle escursioni.
Cena a buffet buona, molto scarso invece il buffet della colazione, molto tipico della loro cucina una pochissima scelta per chi vuole fare una colazione classica dolce.
WiFi scarso, per riuscire a navigare bisognava uscire in corridoio.
Apprezzata moltissimo la disponibilità di tenere la stanza fino alle 7 di sera per preparare tutto prima di partire.

1. I was here with my wife to celebrate her birthday. I told the staff on her birthday, 24th, when we finish our dinner at beach, would like our bed made with flowers and the cake be prepared along. However the bed was made at 23th, and the cake was delivered at midnight of 23th while we were asleep. Huge bang on the door which scared us. The surprise tuned into scary.

2. We were having 12USD/person dinner buffet. Surprisingly the food plants are always empty. We didn’t have any food at all. Although the charge had been waived, it still feel awful.

3. Breakfast choices are little, not much to have and staffs are not so friendly either. Asked for two plates of eggs, for me and my wife, the staff at the egg station complaint me of having to much orders like I shouldn’t. Feel really bad.

4. The WiFi was unstable and crashed all the time. Power outage is common.

5. Parts of equipment in the room was not working, the safe and half of light in my room was unusable.

6. The street behind hotel was full of cooking smoke whole day. If your room face the back, than The balcony is completely useless.

Overall, don’t waste your time and money on this one.

E' un hotel carino davanti al porticciolo dell'atollo di Maafushi.Si trova nella zona migliore e più vivace dell'isola.Personale molto disponibile e amichevole.Ha davanti palme meravigliose ed è stato molto suggestivo cenare la sera con i piedi sulla sabbia bianca del giardino.Peccato per la cucina poco incline ai nostri gusti occidentali e povera di ingredienti.Discreta la colazione.Belle le escursioni organizzate.

We didnt get the room with balcony we booked, after several times of asking the manager payed our speedboat to the airport. The staff is very unfriendly and uncooperativ, the manager was unreliable. We had to ask three times if he reservated us seats at the speedboat.
The breakfast wasnt very good, but the dinner buffet was okay.
The hotel isnt at the beach, like it is said in the description, so there is no beachview from the rooms.
All in all I wouldnt recomment the hotel, or the island for a vacation. On Maafushi is only one beach where tourists can swim, on the other side of the island one can only find tons of rubbish. So there is no maldives feeling at all..

Wir mussten die erste Nacht in einem Zimmer ohne Balkon schlafen, obwohl wir mit Balkon und Meerblick gebucht hatten. Der Manager wollte uns dann weiß machen, dass er uns für die übrigen Tage das beste Zimmer des Hotels gibt. Das \"beste\" Himmer ware jedoch auch lediglich nur mit Balkon und Meerblick, genauso wie wir es gebucht hatten. Nach viel hin und her und Nachfragen wurde uns schließlich das Speedboat zum Flughafen bezahlt.
Personal sehr unfreundlich, unkooperativ und kann sehr schlecht englisch.
Das Frühstück war sehr bescheiden, Abendbuffet war in Ordnung und für jeden Geschmack was dabei.
Hotel befindet sich nicht am Strand, wie es auf den Bildern aussieht und in beiden Zimmer haben die Bäder sehr unangenehm gerochen.
Insgesamt sieht es nicht aus wie auf den Bildern und ich würde weder das Hotel, noch die Insel Maafushi (vermüllt, nur eine Badebucht, sehr touristisch und laut) nicht weiterempfehlen!!
