We had a lovely 9 night stay on this small island resort. We stayed in a room for the first 5 nights and then treated ourselves to an upgrade in a sunset water bungalow for 4 nights. Both types of accommodation were clean and comfortable. The bungalow added something a bit special with a glass floor to watch the fish.

A visit to the spa for a Balinese massage was lovely. The food served in the buffet restaurant was very good and each day there were plenty of options to choose. The staff were all very helpful. Our waiter, Shareef, was excellent. Visam made the transfer to our bungalow completely seamless.

The snorkelling was very good. Yes, much of the coral has died but there is still an abundance of sealife including sharks, rays, turtles and triggerfish. The shark feeding sunrise cruise is a must-do.

The only downside of our stay is a large resort development that is being built close to one side of the island. On some days, the noise of the building works was very noticable. This is beyond the control of the Adaaran resort, but it is a shame that such a large development is being constructed so close to an exisiting resort.

We had a wonderful stay at Adaaran Club Rannalhi and would definitely recommend it to families and couples alike. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed with a comprehensive and professional briefing by Ollie, who set the tone for a relaxed and enjoyable stay.

The stunning white sandy beaches, crystal-clear water, and excellent snorkelling make this a true Maldivian paradise. Whether you want to mingle or find a quiet corner to unwind, there’s plenty of space to do both.

The buffet meals at breakfast, lunch, and dinner were a standout — probably the best selection I’ve come across in my extensive travels. The food caters to a wide range of tastes and dietary needs. A special shoutout to Moosa in the restaurant — his warmth, humour, attentive service, and even napkin artistry added a personal touch that made every meal feel special.

Housekeeping was also excellent, with twice-daily service that was always prompt and of high quality.

A few areas for improvement: the inclusive drink selection is lacking — low-end spirits, frequently substituted brands, only one beer on tap, and cocktails made from overly sweet, pre-mixed syrups. Also, the spa services and excursions are priced far too high for the all-inclusive market segment the resort is targeting, which seems to deter many guests from taking part.

Overall, a great resort with friendly service, incredible scenery and outstanding food — just a few tweaks would take it from great to exceptional.

Paradise on earth

This was mine & my Husbands first time in the Maldives, & it was amazing!

From start to finish the hospitality was very warm & inviting. The selection of food was very satisfactory.

The cleanliness was very good.

The staff were lovely especially Shareef our waiter, he is the most warmest, gentle & kind hearted waiter we have had the pleasure of meeting. He would ask to replenish our drinks without delay & had such a great presence in general. He took the time to get to know us and made us feel very welcome. In addition JK, Arun, Manoo we’re very friendly and helpful throughout the trip.

The only criticism of the resort is that it would have been nice for the resort to put on a firework display at midnight to celebrate the New Year like the other Islands did ( we could see other displays in the distance). Also the entertainment each night could have been a bit better. I would suggest a games/ quiz nights. Snacks should also consist of more light snacks like crisps. Apart from that you can book this resort with peace of mind.

Great reef, food and overwater villas

This was our second stay at this resort and we really love it! The snorkelling is great with such a variety of fish, sharks and rays. We also swam with a turtle on the house reef! No fishing allowed on the reef allows for a healthy environment and the sea life are not wary of humans. You can really get up close and personal. Food is delicious - go for the All Inclusive option and your alcohol is also included. We stayed in the overwater bungalows both trips and they are worth the extra expense. Glass panel in the floor for you to watch the fish is awesome, especially at night when you turn on the light underneath which attracts them. Return guests are treated like gold with free champagne and fruit platter in the room on arrival, the Manager also met us and saw us off on departure. Staff are friendly, especially the bar staff up near the overwater bungalows! Happy to recommend and would come back again 😎🌴.

Had a great experience staying over at adaraan. Everything was perfect except there were ants in the shower.
One thing to note that they charge Mandatory transfer fees that cost 300 USD. There are cheaper ways to get there from airport but as its mandatory you still have to pay them for transfer.

Paradise indeed

On our honeymoon from Canada, it was quite a journey to reach the resort. We traveled via Air Canada and Sri Lankan Air. Overall it took us 33 hrs to reach Male counting in a 12hr transit.
Once we reached Male airport, as I read on prior reviews we headed on to the E2 counter for Adaaran to check in for the speedboat. We were asked to wait around the cafe for all guests to arrive.We were told that the boat would leave at 3:45 pm but we actually ended up leaving at 4:45 pm. Bought local SIM card from Oreedoo for internet (15 GB = $22 USD).Used only 8GB in 7 days.

The 45 min speed boat ride was awful & scary as the tides were high & your in the middle of the ocean (do the math).

We booked an all-inclusive water bungalow which was a dream come true esp with the glass floor! The condition of the room was NOT what we expected seeing that we are paying SO MUCH. The room was dingy & old, the washroom was dirty with ants and insects running everywhere & it smelled bad. The toilet flush did not work. After complaining about all this, mngmnt took care of it but the problems re-occurred. Day 2 the mngmnt did bed decor which should' v been Day 1.

Besides that, our waiter, Safraaz was fantastic and took care of all our needs immedtly. We snorkeled, island hopped and had an over priced beach dinner (just for the sake of it)and the spa twice. Overall the resort was okay, the food also needs improvement and with more variety. The island itself is perfect for honeymooners & 1st timers.

Worth the time and money

Over all the resort was very nice. Water was clear, rooms were clean but be forewarned that 'all inclusive' is NOT all inclusive. You have a set menu with lots of exclusions and times, meaning you can only eat certain items and at certain times, all others you have to pay additional fees.
Also internet is NOT free, which in the time and age especially with the high cost of this resort, it should be included.
Lastly some staff were not so friendly and lack customer service while others were very nice and personable. All in all, we had a great time!

I was disappointed when I checked in as my room was not clean but the management did get on top of this and also made an effort to make me feel more comfortable by leaving me a present in my room that night.
I did get concerned about the security guard nocking on my door at 4am one night for reasons not known to me and I was assured that this matter would be dealt with.
Regardless of the comments above I would visit this hotel again as the beach and diving Center are amazing.

Our stay was overall good apart from few things:

1- Check-in: we arrived at 11:30 am and we had to stay 2 hours in hot humid weather after a long flight and a bad sea ride, we understand that there could be some delay between checking out previous guests and checking in new ones , but you could at least welcome new guests in a closed waiting area with AC and comfortable seats like what we've seen in other hotels.

2- Privacy: there isn't any privacy in the over water bungalows, they are so close to each other plus you can see inside your next bungalow which is very inconvenient.

3- Beverages: the beverages list was very limited , no fresh juices at all although we're on an Island where fruits are supposed to be part of its culture!!!!

4- Internet access: Internet and Wi Fi is a very important thing which is always for free in any hotel, I don't know why it was for charge!!

Satisfactory only after a first bad impression.

The stay was fairly comfortable however, the hotel disappointed us immensely at first. At the airport, they tried to pursuade us to move to another of their property (Hudhuranfushi) and upgrading our rooms. On a very persistent and inconvenient haggling, they agreed to acknowledge our original reservation at Rannalhi. The ordeal caused us a delay of over 2 hrs. We learnt later that it was due to over booking and not any bad weather as the hotel claimed. We only wish the Adaaran club stands to its promise of good quality and professional service and not resort to unconventional practices that only creates bad first impression to its guest.

Amazing coral reefs and water villas!

We stayed in one of the new water villas (425). It was great! The views are simply amazing and having your own private area to swim was super. We ordered Breakfast to our room everyday which was very convenient and included. The best about this hotel is the area, there are amazing coral reefs! We got to see sea turtles, Sharks, eels, nemos and all kinds of fishes!
Only not so good thing is that special cocktails are not included in the all-inclusive package and the beach parties. Other than that, this is an amazing place.
Note: the hotel charges for transportation so even if you decide or have your own they will still charge for that, so make sure to check with the hotel about transportation before hand.

I don't know how to describe in words how beautiful this place is, I can't believe it's in our world. Hard working staff from cleaning rooms, bars, diving and restaurants, lovely people and really treat you so well. Food was amazing and water bungalows are stunning. Thank u to the staff that made our honeymoon perfect, hopefully see u again in the future.

Staff were all very pleasant & helpful. The island is a wee paradise. We had a water villa which was great. Pity you can't order drinks from bar to the room tho (even with all inclusive you had to pay for the fridge minibar in room). Trips were a bit overpriced. The island is great for snorkelling though. Think things like cocktail night should be included by the money paid for all-inclusive (cocktails are not included). Food was good. Decent variety & quality. Overall, very pleased with our stay. The above negatives didn't take away from our enjoyment. The staff really do work hard and deserve a thank you.

Water Bungalow - The Only Savior for Hotel

Positives:

1. The hotel has beautiful scenic views from the water bungalows and jetty.

2. Well equipped water sports facility.

3. Relatively cheaper mode of transport from Male airport.

4. Large beach area, and they provide free beach towels.

5. Snorkel gears can be availed from hotel at a reasonable rent (USD 5-10).

6. Wide range of spa services, but expensive.

Negatives:

1. The hotel offers limited services. Be prepared to walk long again and again to reception from your water bungalows, as the hotel will not provide room service for wifi or tour subscription. Wifi will be charged at USD 10 per day, or you can choose a 3 day package for USD 20. You will have to personally walk to reception and cannot get it done from your room phone.

2. All inclusive package includes drinks which are very cheap and never heard off. You will be paying extra per drink if you wish to have Absolute, JD, Glenfiddich, etc. The package includes VAT 69, Lion Beer, etc. (cant remember names of all the drinks)

3. The hotel is old and you can make that out from the loose hanging towel racks, rusted sliders on doors and jammed doors in your room.

4. The time limit for having lunch is until 2:30pm. So if you start dining at 2:10pm and say you take 30 minutes for having lunch. The drink will only be provided upto 2:30pm, if wish to have a drink at 2:35pm - SORRY!

the resort has good ambience, though the food is not upto the mark as it is not according to indian taste. Esp Vegetarians face a lot of problem.
Another issue that we faced was that on arrival, we were made to stay for 2 hours at the airport so that the hotel speedboat could accomodate 18 persons in one boat.
We had to pay $ 290 extra for the boat transport.
The liqour that are served in all inclusive package is never disclosed to passengers and you only get to know that they are serving you cheap liqour and that too without other options.

The coral reefs are beautiful, long stretches of white sand with almost no rubbish in sight. Maldives is the place for sea activities. Resort has nice food in the all inclusive buffet. Speedboat arrangements were good. But the bathroom in the above water villa had glass windows and doors facing out to the balcony and open sea. The glass is tinted so in the day you need to keep the lights off for privacy. At night with the lights on you will be fully visible to the passing boats ! Asked reception about a simple curtain but they had none. Bathroom door was sliding off the hinges and the screws on the handle kept dropping off. After a rain our tap and shower water got cut off for less than an hour. Maybe that explains the free champagne in the room. But overall it was a very nice stay. Will probably try other resorts next time.

Humbling Beauty

We were in the 2nd story of an overwater villa on the edge of the pier with nothing but ocean and sunset east of us. I can't recommend the overwater villa enough, unless you are trying really to save and want to stay beachside. Being able to see the sunrise, reef below, and sunset in the distance every day away from people passing by and bar music was really amazing.

We were literally the only Americans on the entire island, a rare breed in the maldives apparently because of the cost to travel and distance. But we couldn't have been more happy. We met a wonderful german couple and made a lot of friends simply by being present. We would recommend taking a day to do nothing and just enjoy / take pictures, then fill parts of each day with a few things to do. Don't overbook yourself in paradise!

3* food, 4* accommodation in a 5* location! Stayed in a water villa - large comfortable rooms, good facilities and fantastic snorkelling on your doorstep.
Staff are extremely friendly, as all inclusive they will go that extra mile (some might expect it but comes with the territory).
Buffet was ok, no Michelin star menu, but then we didn't pay the prices!
Basically you're in the Maldives - nothing else matters!

it was easy to find the Adaaran counter at the airport. The ~30 min speedboat ride to the island was bumpy because of the winds, but nothing the hotel could do about it. When we got to the hotel counter, there was no greeting. Checkin was smooth, and all the rooms face the beach. The room itself is a bit drab, but you really should be spending time on the beach. We spent nites in the room, because we're not bar people but there is a cocktail bar with music. Amenities were ok, 2 free waterbottles, clean linens, and tv with fuzzy visible channels. Our inclusive meals were at the main restaurant. They assign you the same table everyday, so you get the same waiter. Our waiter was ok, but he could have been more friendly. The island is pretty small, with a reasonably priced spa, and loads of snorkeling right off the beach. Pure paradise. Just wish the prices weren't so high!

The location of the hotel is very good. Its just about 40 minutes away by boat from Male. The rooms are of decent size and are kept very clean. The staff are helpful and kind. The food is pretty good but gets repetitive after a few days. The buffet has a very good spread. The taste is about average. For vegetarians, there is enough for survival but not the huge spread as the non-vegetarians.
The Water bungalows are awesome. Its spacious and just beautiful. The deck is not very private but is good enough to enjoy the ocean in calm. All the water bungalows offer good sunset view though its cloudy most of the days. We didnt get to see a clear sunset in the 4 days we stayed.

Cons : not enough spread for vegetarians in buffet, all-inclusive should include more options, Should provide the details of checkout earlier

The Hotel can do much more but I found them to be reluctant to improve. has good options for Vegetarians and Chief Chef has a great attitude.

There were eventes which were planned but get cancelled at the last minute. Amphitheater is there but they did not do any event there.

Maldives Experience within affordable budget

Luckily, we lived in the Water Bungalow so it's naturally beautiful by the room itselfs. It's very peaceful with the snorkelling area right in front of our terrace and the underwater scenes were fantastic. The life jackets had been provided within the bungalow but no snorkelling facilities. The best way is to carry them with you or you can rent them from the water sport center. For the bungalow condition, it was aged but still worked well in their functions. The best part of these is the mirror floor that we can see fishes from our bungalor floor.

From our all-inclusive package, we had gotten only 2 complimentary in-room bottles of water and 1 sparkling wine for the whole 4 days and 3 nights stay. The rest of minibar were not include in the all-inclusive package and you have to pay at the very expensive prices especially for water. Luckily, we have read other comments before going there, so we packed 5 bottles of 1.5 Litres water with us and this was such a great idea because all water bungalows were far from the main restaurant where we can have everything from all-inclusive package (10 -15 minutes walk) without any other surcharge. The foods were okay but predictable (same for almost 50% in each meal). The overall taste was acceptable and most of the protein they're used are beef, chicken and fish (rarely found squid, crab and shrimp).

Overall was fine and suitable with its price.

Beautiful resort with lots of excursions. Food was great. Unfortunately cocktails are not included in the all inclusive package.
On the expedia website it states that you need to arrive at the airport by 3pm to catch the boat to the resort however the last boat leaves at 430pm.

About us:
We stayed in a water bungalo under the \"all-inclusive\" option as a family of four (kids 15M & 13F)for my wife's 50th birthday. We were looking for a relaxing vacation.

General Impression:
Generally well satisfied with a few high and lowlights. Solid 3.5 star property. Would return at same price.

Our Room:
We booked 2 water villas (max occupancy 3pp, so if you have 4, you need 2 rooms) and were glad that we paid the extra. My wife was thrilled waking up to the view of the ocean right outside her large glass french doors, and it was great snorkelling right off your back deck. The floor, fixtures and furniture were dated and \"used\" but not terribly. There was all the amenities you would expect from a resort room.

The Grounds:
The island is small but quaint and well groomed & maintained. Plenty of great pictures to be taken. The restaraunt was quite good with a solid 3.5 star menu that had enough variety over the week. Dive shop had plenty of scuba trips & the sports hut had all the snorkel, windsurfing, etc gear you could want. Snorkel gear: $6/day or $40/wk. A few other fishing & island hopping trips were offered. There is a spa that we did not use.

Not a true all-inlcusive. Water is free only in restaraunt and bar and is $6/1.5L otherwise (buy at airport for $1.50.. plan at least 1 bottle pp per day). Only main bar is free for well liquor and one domestic beer brand. 2nd bar is pay only. Room service is pay menu only.

Little heaven

We are very happy with everything.It was above our expectations.The weather was nice,water clear blue and full of corals and sea life.We spend hours snorkeling.The staff was nice and friendly,food was good,room cleaned twice a day.Overall expirience was excellent.We would recomend Maldives over many other destinations that we visited!

Do check before you enter the room

The Stay was pleasant and exceeds my expectations, We booked an all inclusive and the food was excellent.

I would like to people aware of one thing, There is a Minibar which is not included in the Full board(all inclusive). they will keep all the items in the mini bar and they will charge when checkout. So please check before you enter the room all the items in Minibar are there and you are aware of what you are consuming.

For me when they allotted the room, they dint put the water bottles in minibar and i am not aware of that the water bottles will/should be there in minibar as there are lot of items in minibar at the time of check out they say that i have consumed the water, which i was not aware of, it was lucky that on the same time i purchased two water bottles from the restaurant so i got some point where i can defend that there were no water bottles included in Minibar when the room was allotted to me.

So please do check the items which will be charged and which are not. and check the items in the list match in your room.

Get secluded from ROW in Adaaran

went on a honeymoon, stayed in a watervilla. it was a wonderful experience, resort is well maintained, you get lots of privacy and yet everything is at a few min walking distance. the food had lots of variety and finger licking taste.

Nice place for relax~

We stayed at Ocean Villa for 4 days 3 nights. We are under all inclusive package where the food of the restaurant is pretty nice, drinks are free flow, tea break available daily too. Overall everything are nice. We wish to have island hoping trip but all the trips are available weekly not daily. We are a bit disappointed but in the end we manage to join a short trip to see dolphin. There are lots of Russian customer stayed in this hotel. The diving also trained by Russian trainer. The housekeeping of the hotel does not refill the shampoo for us. There is no toothbrush and toothpaste supply to us too. The spa in the hotel is nice. There is shark coming to the resort every night 8:30pm. The hotel used to feed them at that time but they stop. Sharks still swim over to wait for food everyday even the hotel has stop feeding them.

Breakfast is terrible... always cold even after several complaints. Not much variety in food selection for their buffet. Front office staff are not well train to handle customer feedback and the mgmt should be taught what is customer service.

Only a 3 star hotel

The star rating for this hotel is very misleading. At best it is just a 3 star hotel and not a 4 star property by any standards. 1. does not have a pool, 2. there is no room service 3. Only has one bar and a main restaurant 4. Food quality is very limited & very mediocre 5. Service is sub-par. The plus points are the island is very beautiful, snorkeling/diving is great and the water villas are quite nice but dated.

Premetto che sono stato alle Maldive 6 volte in tutta la mia vita. Tutti i villaggi differenti.

Bassa qualità del cibo con poca scelta
Ogni angolo di spiaggia è circondata da sacchi di sabbia per limitare l’avanzamento del mare.
Acqua ricoperta da foglie cadute dagli alberi.

Al momento tutte le camere sull’acqua sono in ristrutturazione. Molti luoghi sono inaccessibili per i lavori, tendoni verdi delimitano gli spazi di ristrutturazione, le camere sull’acqua sono tutte in ristrutturazione.
Molti materiali di costruzione si trovano in acqua.
Alloggiato in camera piano terra sulla spiaggia.
Ben pulita ma il bagno da rifare. Mattonelle di colore differente e materiali datati.

Wir haben unsere Flitterwochen auf Empfehlung einer engen Freundin im
Adaaran Club Rannalhi verbracht und es war so ein wundervolles Erlebnis und eine wirklich unvergessliche Zeit. Wir hatten einen Raum am Strand und einen auf dem
Wasser. Die Zimmer sind so schön! Auch die Insel ist überragend schön und es gibt immer was Neues zu entdecken. Auch das Essen und die Drinks haben uns sehr geschmeckt.
Die Leute dort sind sehr freundlich - insbesondere Sim Ran war jeden Tag soo unglaublich freundlich, aufmerksam und zuvorkommend und hat uns tolle Tipps für den Aufenthalt hier gegeben! Auch Ishani von der Rezeption hat uns so herzlich und freundlich in Empfang genommen und uns die Insel gezeigt. Beide sind wirklich so liebe Seelen - wie alle Mitarbeiter dort!

Wir waren noch nie so traurig, dass ein Urlaub zu Ende gegangen ist. Danke für alles, wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

The island is beautiful, but there are many rubbish scattered around the island, lots of pet bottle, disposable cups and bags. Including trash in the water. The cleanliness of the bungalow was excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful. Most corals are destroyed.
