The staff is very hospitable! I was iffy going into this since there isn’t much online about the hotel or what’s going on in the island. You typically only see the luxury resorts for Maldives but staying local was a great way to save some money and still have access to tours to explore the surrounding area and even visit a resort to get a touch of the experience. The island is still developing for tourists but Kaani was great with making the experience pleasant. There are plenty of restaurants to eat at in the area and Kaani had a great restaurant and dining included in the stay. They have three properties right next to each other so you’ll use the dining facilities and spa in the other hotels too. Bikini beach is right in front of the hotel as well. The locals are so kind!

We had an absolutely amazing experience at Kaani Grand View! The hospitality here is truly unmatched. From the moment we arrived, everything was taken care of with such warmth and professionalism.
A special mention to Tiger, who received us at the port and escorted us to the hotel — he’s truly a gem of a person! Always available, always helpful, and genuinely caring. He set such a high standard of hospitality that it’s hard to imagine anything better.
The restaurant team was equally wonderful — every attendant especially Asih greeted us with a smile and made dining a pleasure. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, making our stay even more relaxing.
We honestly did not want to leave! Highly recommend Kaani Grand View to anyone visiting — you’ll be well taken care of. 🌴✨

After a long journey traveling to get to the Maldives, we were greeted at the jetty by employees from the Kaani Grand Seaview. The manager, Tiger, personally greeted us and escorted us to the facility, which is a stone’s throw and short walk from the jetty. First impressions with a sincere welcome after extended travel time made a huge difference. But even after the first impression, we were regularly greeted by Tiger, he always made us feel welcome. Staff @ the dining facility on the property were also very personable, extending their warmth and hospitality. Special shout out to sweet Jusika with her morning and evening greetings. We also miss our chats with the wonderful Manoj and Rayhan. These three employees are hardworking, kind and sincere, made lasting impressions on our stay. The room was ocean front, clean and adequate. Nice lanai to sit and people watch minus the sand. The beach is literally steps away. On our departure, my faith in humanity, the person to person - face to face interaction that we have been losing post pandemic and technology had been restored.

The stay was just decent. If they had good customer service it would have been alot better. Had us sitting at at airport from 7am-11am. The only hotel with no rep on site at airport until 1030. When he got there he was chatting with others. There were a couple staff members that were nice but it was a maintenance guy. Room had a king and a twin bed. They only cleaned the king bed and often times took what was on that bed and threw it on that bed. Checked out and staff broke luggage on the way to airport.

The lobby is old and dark. Contrary to the picture, our Honeymoon Suite looks more like a family suite with an extra twin bed. Don’t bother spending extra as the room is simple and plain.
Hotel did not respond to inquiry re pickup at the dock, granted we booked our own speedboat transfer to arrive earlier in the afternoon.

This was a top notch experience!

Every great experience starts with the staff and Kaani’s staff is top tier!

The attention to detail is unmatched! From the time you arrive at the airport, Kaani sends an employee to help navigate you through the speedboat process.

When you arrive on Maafushi, more employees are waiting to take your luggage and guide you to the hotel.

From there, it is like you have your own personal concierge. They check you in while you relax on the sofas.

They arrange your excursions, if you are interested. They arrange your speedboat according to your flights. They give recommendations. Elena was magnificent!!! She really goes out of her way and it makes the experience extra special!

Honestly, all of the staff is excellent and the property was exceptionally clean. My room was literally mopped everyday! I’m a germaphobe, so this was most important to me and made a lasting impression.

Shout out to Jessica in the restaurant. Her personality really stood out! Again, that makes a big impression on guests.

I now hope to return again in 2023 because of this excellent experience !

Really adore this hotel and the service staff, whom I have grown fond of. The beach is near the doorstep, making it a prime location. So easy to book many activities with any of the staff, and we could reach out to a specific staff anytime via WhatsApp (thanks, Tiger!). Food and snacks were also within and just outside the hotel. Got the best value from this accommodation because the experience was easy and seamless. I had to cancel my second stay at a luxury resort because of contact tracing measures but it was a blessing in disguise! We felt happy that we could extend our booking, stay longer and have more time to enjoy Maafushi.

Kaani hotel is NOT a 4-star hotel. 2 stars hotel at best.

Pros:
Staff at the reception and waiters are amazing, friendly and helpful.

Cons:

Room is old, humid and dirty. Not a cleaning problem, the rooms need to be renovated. We found a COCKROACH at 2AM in the bathroom, the cockroach was coming from the wall frame which was in poor state. (See the picture). We tried to catch the cockroach (not what the type of activity I was planning on doing when coming to the Maldives) but it hid in the wall so we had to wait for it to get out of the wall frame. Disgusting.
The walls are dirty, the facilities are worn out (see attached pictures)
Breakfast & Dinner food are extremely poor (watery juices, recycled food everyday- they use the same food from the day before.) Also, please never eat any meat in Maafushi, it’s all disgusting, it seems frozen (no matter which restaurants you go to).
Maafushi island is extremely dirty. It is a shame to see that hotels do not even care about investing back in the community & island. It seems like the owner just care about profiting to the max, making the biggest margins ever (giving you the same unfrozen food everyday) and not even care to clean up the island or help locals.
It is a very cheap family hotel. All you’ll see are kids running around, screaming, crying etc. Don’t go there if you actually want to relax. Most and foremost, do not go there if you are a couple you will be so disappointed.

Booked double room sea view in Kaani Grand 11 months ago and I was put up in Kaani Palm beach which is under construction with full of dust and extremely noisy. The work goes on until midnight invariably everyday.
Despite booked sea view room, the room was on the side of the hotel.

This is our second stay at kaani grand. Since our last stay I have noticed improvement in breakfast as they have added an omelet station and coffee is readily available during breakfast. The breakfast staff is excellent. Some of the staff go above and beyond to help such as Joshim who never seems to stop working/cleaning. I booked a half board package and the dinner is not that great. In general the food is just ok. The lady at the front is distracted as I asked her several times for towels and had to walk down and ask, later I gave up and just asked one of the staff in the elevator. Had my towels in 30 seconds. The same issue happened on my last stay but with coffee and the same woman at the front. Im assuming she is management. In general I have mixed feelings about my last stay and may consider a different place for my next visit.

We spent 6 nights in this hotel, quadruple room. it's actually 2 rooms connected, so it's really spacious. The balcony is facing the hotel next door under construction but it did not bother us because we can just go out and enjoy the sea anytime.

Café service was good and the staff are really friendly. Food is not bad with reasonable price.

We went for the Real Break Excursion and I highly recommend this trip, my boys really enjoy this day trip, swimming with dolphins, nurse sharks and GT, touch the stingrays, lunch at the beautiful sand bank. We took lots of nice photos and videos for this day trip.

Overall, it's value for money. The hotel provides a medium range accommodation for those who would like to experience Maldives but can't afford the hotels in private islands :)

We went during the low, rainy season. This worked in our favour as the skies were clear till the last day of our stay, so we lucked out. There were no crowd being low season, so most times there were only a handful of people on the beach.
The family room was roomy and we love the seaview balcony. There's also a lift for those finding stairs difficult. Breakfast was adequate.
The only downside would be blackouts on two separate occasion. But the hotel managed to fix them very quick. The excursions also were a bit expensive but you can ask for a discount or go outside to find bargains.

The staff is excellent and very friendly, from check in we were greeted at the docks and brought to hotel and same at check out. The people who work there genuinely care about their business and guests. I found it to have been built in the best location on the island directly next to bikini beach, which we actually did not even use because of going on tours every day of our stay. The breakfast is kind of disappointing is the downfall, dont compare it to island resorts in the same area. The excellent staff, location, rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable and tv stations are good. All reasons why I will be back here in September.
*Please improve your breakfast spread and offer an omelette station. An actual coffee machine for breakfast would be a great addition

Great staff, Michelle at reception 5 star so was the bell boy and excursion staff. Highly recommend taking the excursions but be prepared to pay around $100 each person for each trip, but worth it! They take pictures and video everything which is included in the price and can be downloaded onto your smart phone (not iPhone) or bring memory stick.
Beach was disappointing due to the smell of the sand and water, smells like sewage, try it yourself go a little further into the most beautiful part of the water, natural sand bank, then scoop a handful of sand and smell it.
If you have children don’t buy half board for their is no kids food in the buffet, you have to order from the menu which they will charge you for, ridiculous since we had already paid for half board.
Overall wouldn’t return since they are building another hotel left of the picture shown of the hotel and it is a bigger one, the beach will be over crowded by then.

Nice location on the island however surrounded by building work which makes relaxing very hard.

Food quality very poor at times, staff not overly friendly and at times very rude. Calling you on the room phone to return beach towels before 5pm.

Lack of sunbeds, and the guys on the beach expect you to pay $5 each per sunbed per day.

20 people almost drawn in the ocean today aboard the kaani boat connecting maafushi to male at 12h30. We left in a small boat and about 5mn to male the bot started taking water, the pilot was extremely stupid, did not want to call for help on the radio, he was contacting kaani other boat only, we had the worst 5mn of our lives. We were in charge of calling the police, getting water out, moving stuff and women to the front, because it was taking water in the back. The day before we went on a kaani excursion, boat was also extremely old, dirty as hell and crew terrible. STAY AT HOTEL OK, BUT DO NOT, DO NOT GO ON ANY EXCURSION WITH THEM AND IF YOU VALUE YOUR LIFE DO NOT USE ANY OF THEIR BOATS. Also dinner buffet terrible for 12$ and we asked for a juice it was 5$, like one juice equal half the price of the buffet???

Great hotel right next to the beach. The room was excellent especially with a clean bathroom, comfortable bed, and air conditioning. Chairs for the beach and beach towels were readily available. The beach itself was beautiful. Nearby are juice/snack bars as well as watersports stands. We opted for the breakfast and dinner buffet package and the selection was good - they had local cuisine plus international so there was lots of variety. The staff were so friendly and always smiling. They were very helpful with everything. We are very satisfied with our stay here and would definitely book again.

Stayed there on my anniversary and was very disappointed. Booked my room with half board meal and the dinner we had was the worst in my 12 days Maldives trip. Very few items and foods were awful. Only one glass of cold drinks per person. It was very hot in the restaurant and it was dark. Breakfast wasn't very good as well. Staffs are not very friendly. Didn't get any snorkeling mask on the first day because they give priority to excursion going guests and they don't have enough for others. Very unexpected because I got free snorkeling gears even in very cheaper hotels.

On good notes, their room is very clean and view from balcony is very good.

No, I am not gonna stay at Kaani grand Seaview if I visit Maafushi again. A overpriced hotel.

Great location with good views of the bikini beach. The excursion center is well staffed with good trip options. We took the real break full day package and the snorkeling experience with the sharks was extremely unique and worthwhile. Restaurant lighting could be improved as it was rather dim during breakfast and dinner. Room was neat and clean. Inroom amenities should include bedroom slippers due to the sandy beach and the toiletries quality could be better. Overall good quality for value stay.

Pros: The view from our room was amazing. The location of the hotel is perfect. Rooms are clean and well maintained. The catering staff was very nice and helpful.

Cons: Not much variety in breakfast and dinner menu. The food was just average. The people at the reception were the biggest disappointment. They never had anything that we needed. Not even the basics. And they did not even try to arrange or help. Highly disappointing attitude of the people at reception.

It’s not a Resort but good place to stay and injoy

When we get down from speed boat a person from hotel is there to receive us helped us with our luggage. Check inn was smooth had welcome drink . Room is good large bed was comfortable and balcony is large but view is obstructed by trees. Breakfast is good and delicious dinner is ok but delicious only thing is missing is bar, for drinks you have to go to catamaran docked in waters but hotel arrange to and fro free of cost good experience beer 6$ and Wiskey for 8$ ( 50 ml ) . Location of the hotel is great on the beach and they provide Beds, beach towels and Snokerling gear free of cost. Staff is too good and always smiling and ready to help. Only thing missing is extra water bottles they provide only two half liter bottles. On site arrangements of tours and water sports.

Fantastic First. Kaani Grand Seaview had kindly arranged for our transfer from Male to Maafushi by speedboat at good rate. We were also well received upon arrival to Maafushi. Aswat from the hotel was great explaining what we can do during our trips and had organised our next day activity. Our whole 4 nights stay was just superb. Location great, able to see the sun rise and Sunset. All the staff friendly and make us felt so welcome. Will definitely make a come back to this beautiful place.
We celebrated our anniversary, our room nicely decorated. We had a nice candlelight dinner by the beach. We totally enjoyed our stay and experience the sea sports from snorkelling, scuba dive, jet ski, Parasailing and fun Tube.
Maafushi is just a perfect place for us.

The view from my room had a fantastic ocean view
The people working there was all very nice and helpful especially Aiman and the beautiful Shimana
They arranged albeauriful trips for me

Relaxing Hotel right next to the Beach

I had such a wonderfully relaxing time at Kaani Grand Seaview! The staff were always friendly and helpful. Special mention to Anas, who was always ready with a smile and a handshake whenever I crossed paths with him. Janaka and Kadir in the Buffet Restaurant area were also lovely. Also, the guys on the snorkelling day trips were amazing.
The whole place has such a relaxed vibe about it--great if you're after a real break away from the rat race. I was by myself but felt right at home. It seemed like a very family friendly place too.

At first it seem nice.

The bathroom has a stench.
The waiter asked if I liked girls because I was single and alone. I was doing a trip around the world. It was very insulting. Teach your staff appropriate manners!!!!
Halls are not air conditioned.
Next door the building is under huge construction. Pounding constanly.

Food was terrible. Go to Arena hotel next to it. Much better food, facilities not so close to the construction. Friendlier staff. I ate Arena hotel for most of my stay.

Staff is non interest in servicing you. Even though reviews say different. The staff routes out frequently.

Communication via is virtual non existent. Whats up app never got a reply.

Staff needs to be taught service first! Orientation about service excellence. So many opportunities to service the clients missed.

Needs variety in food selection. Same every day. Hire a chef and better quality. Find out how the Arena cook and display food.

My first day missing water bottles.

Massage person rip off. I paid her and I thought it was to pay for the service. I was billed later. Be aware!!

Ocean view was the only nice thing.

Give a 1 out of 10 for non service and over facility.

Nice Hotel Close to the Beach

My family enjoyed so much stayed in this hotel. The room is nice and spacious with sea view. The last day was great, I managed to do snorkelling with so many fish right in front of the hotel.

We enjoyed our stay at the Kaani Grand Seaview. The room was beautiful, with a great view, cool A/C, and an extremely comfortable bed. The front desk staff was kind and welcoming, and the housekeeping staff were friendly and efficient. All in all, a wonderful experience.
A few things that can be improved upon...
1. Restaurant staff is incredibly slow. Friendly enough, but no efficiency outside of breakfast. It took nearly an hour for our lunch of 2 sandwiches to be served (after we had to flag down a server to get our order in)...it then took another 20 min to get our bill. Food was mediocre. For some, this might not be an issue, but we were in Maldives to dive! It makes it challenging when the morning dive boats get in at 12:30 and the afternoon goes out at 2:30.
2. Rooms need better sound proofing. We heard every single coo, scream and cry of the baby in the room next to ours.
3. If you plan on scuba diving, go with the Eco dive club. The hotel does not advocate for them or mention them in your prearrival emails as they do with other dive shops. We spent our first evening on the island talking to every shop, and Eco not only had the best hospitality, they had the best pricing. Our diving was an unforgettable experience with them, and we felt our individual needs and desires were heard and catered to with extreme professionalism.

The positives definitely outweighed any negatives and we highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful unspoiled island, new hotel

Fairly new hotel (opened end of 2017) on relatively unspoiled small local island (Maafushi). Service of hotel staff wonderful, property well kept, everything was pretty new and clean. Workers always busy keeping property clean, constantly upgrading and adding to the new property. ALL the rooms are beachfront! Beach is beautiful although on smaller side. Beach towels, beach chairs all included however only one beach towel per guest that needs to be accounted for so make sure not to lose it. Lobby staff are especially wonderful. Hotel runs excursions daily for reasonable prices although transfers costs much higher if not enough people sign up. Restaurant not exceptional, not bad, just okay. Lunch is same fixed limited menu options everyday so if staying for more than 5 days, will be repetitive choices. Breakfasts are a highlight though especially local food options like a coconut tuna sambol thing they have and coconut roti to eat with it - DELICIOUS! Only negatives are speedboat rides to/from hotel to mainland or to other islands, airport and excursions can be really difficult if get motion sickness or have back/neck/spine issues - sit in back, face forward and hold on! Also day excursion to 5-star hotel (Vadoo) isn't premium drinks as advertised but food is great. Note liquor is illegal except at licensed luxury hotels so duty free items will be confiscated & held at airport until departure. Beautiful destination but a REALLY far away so will need a few days to adjust/enjoy.

Best Place to stay in Maafushi

Everything at Kaani Grand Seaview is perfect. The Location is excellent. Right in front of Bikini Beach. The view from the room is amazing too. But what makes Kaani Grand Seaview special is the staff. Their service is excellent. Best I have ever experienced. The receptionists take care of you like family. Special mention here for Pushpika who was very sweet to us throughout. Anas and Apou arranged our excursions and all arrangements were perfect. The Chefs and the Waiters in their restaurant were excellent. Overall it was an amazing stay and what makes Kaani stand out is it's staff. Big thanks to Kaani Grand Seaview for an amazing trip

The hospitality and the service is best in class.

The service from the staff is simply next level, they will be more then happy to organise and skedule any tour or trips for you,, the people at the reception manage the property and the customer very well,, overall the hotel is brand new and the king suite The top floor for which we got a free upgrade is more then what a 5 star resort can provide..I was ver happy with the service of the staff like which is one of a kind only I found in Maldives,, want to really thank the staff for taking care and managing everything very efficiently..
Very cost effective. The location is Wright in the beach and the view is simply beauty at its best ..

Great hotel, spacious and comes with a balcony with an amazing sea view. Breakfast was not bad, and staff were friendly and helped organised trips/ airport transfer.

Only downside was that the room was rather sandy/dirty when we first checked in. Was fine they made the room after our 2nd night. Nonetheless, definitely a hotel worth recommending!

When we arrive, Tiger(awesome guy) greeted us with a smile and show us the things and activities we can do in Maldives. He arranged everything for us and even found a solution when we missed our boat.

Clean and new hotel directly at Bikini beach

My family really enjoyed our stay here at Kaani Grand! We came here with minimal expectations after a not so pleasant night stay at Hulhumale, but we were pleasantly suprised on arrival at the hotel! When the jetty arrived at the harbour, there were staff who offered to carry all our luggages to the hotel to make our short walk to the hotel much more bearable. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and every single one of them never failed to make our days! Especially Tiger, who tirelessly worked to ensure that we had a good time for all the water activities and day trips. They were working really hard in preparation for the Christmas dinner as well. Breakfast here isn't overly grand but is acceptable - the coffee and eggs were good!

The best hotel in Maafushi

Brand new hotel. The rooms have everything you need - Flat 40” screen with SAT TV, modern bathroom, conforotable bed, big balcony with amazing view. But really what exceeded my expectations was the service! The Staff that works here are very kind and helpful and make sure you enjoy your stay - they clean the room EVERY single day, make up your bed, change the towels and re-supply bottles of mineral water. The receptionists were also outstanding - they responded promptly to all my requests and even one of them (beautiful and sunny woman) knew some Bulgarian phrases! I strongly recommend Kaani Grand Seaview to everyone interested to visit Maafushi-this is the best place with the best service!
