Reasonably new hotel so rooms are ok. However, there was very limited tolileries provided, limited linen , no TV remote and room safe was permanently locked… also don’t bother with breakfast option… basically you get what you pay for and it was one of the cheapest options in the area.

fine hotel, terrible Wi-Fi

it's really not a bad hotel. It's location is on the main road. For us this was, probably, a good thing. For someone on a beach holiday, it wouldn't be good. Our room (709) was a large, comfortable suite with two toilet rooms. We had a nice view of Colombo city from one side and of the sea from the other side. The hotel was quite dead, however, and it was, sometimes, difficult to find staff people sometimes. However, our housekeeper was friendly and wonderful (though sometimes not available, too). The worst thing, and it is quite abysmal, is the internet service. It's totally inadequate for guests anywhere. It's a shame that they are using this antiquated system at a quite new hotel.

We noted that the cups and cutlery after use were washed in the room which is not a hygienic way of washing.

The staff are genuine and lovely in their work but they aren’t professional. I arrived close to midnight so I understand it was an unusual time but it took 20 minutes to check me in when all I wanted was a bed and sleep. I was also to have a sea view according to the booking but I woke up to a wall and saw a slice of the sea to me left. Please dont mislead with descriptions.

we were there during a time of political uncertainty. The hotel staff was extra nice to us and was very caring. The security at the hotel was good. they checked every guest that went in. The hotel was fairly well equipped with a gym and a fabulous Spa. The toiletries on sale were very good and were reasonably priced.
location was good and central and served our purpose. it was reasonably close to the Mt. Lavinia beach for anyone who wanted a swim in the sea to walk.
the hotel was clean and the house keeping was good.

Modern hotel using up to date technology but profiteering is the main motive.Air conditioning is put off at midnight to save on electricity expenses perhaps causing great discomfort in midst of sleep.Room amenities are refilled in a miserly fashion.In fact no replenishments after 3pm with the alebi of Housekeeping staff having left for the day.(as if the staff carry supplies with them home)

The air conditioning- room temperature was not controllable. It was 20.6 C when I occupied. The technician who came to adjust it could not not control the temperature. At the end I switched off air conditioning. The same applies too hot water. I had to open all taps for a long time to get hot water which made me feel guilty of wasting water.

Horrible experience in Anarva Hotel

The smell of the room was too much terrible. We smell humidity all night. Beds were highly terrible. Beds were wet due to humidity. Solving problem was terrible.

Our first room had an ocean view from a couple of blocks away. The toilet began to leak on the floor.
We moved to a second room where the only way we could get the AC to shut off was to manually turn it off. The food at the restaurant was decent.

Best hotel I've stayed at in Sri Lanka. Very clean and modern. Good attention to detail like towels in the gym and at the pool. Excellent breakfast buffet. The only bad thing i could is if you shower outside of peak hours it takes awhile to get hot water.

There is a need to attend to so routine maintenance to keep the showers looking clean.
Also there needs to be some attention to detail relation to Health and Safety eg a rail to assist you getting in and out of the pool. There is a lack of soft seating around the pool.

The breakfast is average would like to have seen more whole meal bread for toast and more choice of fruit and yogurt.
At times we experienced difficulty in communicating In English.

No room service, food hours are limited with very limited menu. No consistency in food, first time you order something and if you like it and repeat the same order next time you will experience different taste and very disappointing.

But people and staff are very nice. We cut down our stay from 7 to 2 days and the front office manager was extremely helpful in sorting out things.

Very little communication prior to check in, and when my questions were answered I was given the wrong information. Had to arrange my own airport pickup when I landed, when they said they had already done this. When I asked to do the same for my sister, the cost of the pickup was far too high and in the wrong currency to the what they had stated in the messages. Also booked a ocean view room, which after finally sorting - turned out to be blocked by construction anyway. Very disappointing

When we entered the room, there was a foul smell. It was only next day we found a dead pigeon in the balcony. It looked as of it was there for a few days. The Air Conditioner was not working in the room and it took about 45 minutes after check in for it to start.

The next day also the light only of our room went for half an hour. Inspite of all these issues being mentioned at time of check out there was absolutely no concern shown.

Pleasent stay with good food and great spa.

Similing staff. Very good cook made our kid a special breakfast. All are caring with good manners. Ground floor portor and security staff are very friendly and helpful.

Friday night DJ was very good and had a very good mix of songs. My kid likes him playing Alan Walker's songs.

New Hotel with Comfortable Rooms

Anarva Mount Lavinia is a very new hotel with good standard and comfortable rooms. It has in-house Aurvedic Spa facilities that offer discounted rates for staying guests. The roof top has a bar, small gym and a small sized infinity pool overlooking the sea, although hotel is some distance away from beach it offers beautiful view of sunset over the horizon. Anarva is conveniently located on the Galle Road however, the entrance to hotel is not that attractive with reception located on the second floor. The breakfast is not very exciting either, but hotel chef Sunil makes sure a few Sri Lankan dishes are always on menu, though there is not much variety on offer. The poolside bar is not of good value but is nice to enjoy a relaxing drink in evenings watching sunset. Anarva does not have a proper restaurant except dining area that serves buffet breakfast. The rooms are immaculate with modern fixtures and fittings, and of quite good standard when compared with similar hotels in Colombo. Hotel staff are friendly, courteous and always there to offer assistance when needed. Overall, Anarva offers good value for money and an enjoyable stay for the guest. Highly recommended to all visitors and guests with families.

Nice hotel badly managed

I have stayed here 3 times now because of work. It's a nice hotel with a lot of facilities.
However the staff is not trained properly. They lack basic communication and customer care skills that's needed in this industry.
Overall it's a OK place to stay when you are in Colombo

Relaxing Stay

We had stayed here before so we knew that the hotel was good value for money. The staff at Anarva are all very friendly and helpful. My mother was in hospital in Colombo whilst we stayed here and everyone was very kind to us. They took us to and from the hospital as needed and looked after us well. We will stay here again next time we come to Sri Lanka.

We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were comfortable and it was in a good location (close to shops and a short walk to the beach). The children enjoyed the roof top pool too.

Close to the beach , Colombo! The room was clean and house keeping was good . The in-house food could be better . Ordered a chicken fried rice and it had too much salt , was unedable. The massage therapies were good value for money . We will be back

Hotel was lovely staff were really lovely and couldn't do enough for you.
We had food in the bar area which was good and resonably priced.
Beds were comfy and breakfast was a good choice they even cooked me some bacon when i asked for some.
Personally i didn't like the area much outside but it was a quick one night stay before travelling down to Hikkdawu.
All in all a good hotel with fantastic staff and decent food would definately stay again.

Nice modern hotel, very clean and good service. Swimming pool on the rooftop is lovely but the area around the pool is small. It was very quiet when we stayed so wasn’t a problem but if it was busier then it may be. Perfect for a few days before moving round Sri Lanka.

Excellent hotel for Colombo and Mt Lavinia beach

We needed a clean, medium cost, safe hotel with easy transport access for a week and this hotel met all that. We opted not to eat in as there are many good food outlets within walking distance - The Fab, Family Super, BreadTalk and Mt Lavinia Hotel to name those we used. Mt Lavinia beach is only 15 minutes walk If you are here on Sunday don't miss the market where you can buy great fruit - we borrowed a knife from the hotel to peel and cut the fruit - the hotel even offered to cut to cut the fruit for us! The hotel has a luggage room to store luggage after check out that we used. The staff were friendly and very polite. My wiife used the infinity pool and was very happy with it.
