We walked in an apartment with dust and dirt on the floor, mould behind toilet door, mould on kitchen glass tray. They said this apartment was closed for some time. Housekeeping staff should be trained to check on details. Would not recommend for families who are particular about cleanliness. The management needs to take feedback seriously without giving excuses for lapses.

Uber and Pick-Me taxi service always had an issue with the location and would off-shoot, so you have to be vigilant and watch out for the cab.
There is a 24 hour front desk service, so Expedia needs to update their information to indicate there is a 24 hour front desk

Pleasant surprise

Very clean, well maintained apartment block. I got a three roomed apartment and they locked up two rooms as I booked only a room. I was free to use the rest of the facilities of the apartment, which include a spacious well furnished lounge/dining room, well equiped large separate kitchen and a balcony. The room had a large exceptionally clean ensuite. They provide large bath towels and all other toiletries. The lounge and bedrooms are air-conditioned and also has fans. They also provide fast wifi, TV and phone. You pay extra for a buffet breakfast and the building also has a large swimming pool on the topmost floor with a good view of the sea and the busy Colombo harbour. The staff are friendly and helpful. This facility is value for money and I ended up staying three nights there. I will be booking the same hotel in future visits to Colombo. The apartments are quite suitable for a family or group bookings. I will recommend this hotel to my friends.

Very problematic staffs

I have stayed here few times. Every time i have to face some sort of problems during my stay. At last ive decided not to stay as the staffs are unable to solve any problems faced to the gues. The staffs are unethical and try to give false information when they have problems with the rooms. Poorly maintained and always ends up with some sort of problems. In most cases hotel managers relocate rooms when there is a maintenance problem. However, expedia helped me and compensated the difficulties ive faced during my stay.

A great spacious apartment for a family of 4. Great option with the laundry too to catchup on washing. Beds are comfortable and showers are good.
Only one issue is the street noise. We were facing the main road and it was incredibly loud.
Swimming pool is great too!
Room service food was good and the staff are very helpeful and friendly.
We will stay here again.

Great rates for groups

Stayed one night with just my partner and would've gotten a much nicer place for the same cost. We then stayed a week with 6 people and the price was unbeatable for a serviced apartment. If you're travelling in a group this is really cost friendly.
Staff, cleanliness and amenities were all good but not amazing.

Decent but not worth the price in anyway

I stayed here for 13 nights. It was pleasant stay but a tad expensive for what was on for offer. Will I recommend to someone? Not at the price charged. Had issues with the wifi. When booked it stated that the rooms will come with a kitchen and cooking amenities but didn't find any. The water coolant machine wasn't working, complained about this from day 1 but issue was not sorted. The receptionist wasn't to happy that I had asked for the deposit back when leaving. No smile or thank you courtesy when leaving. Would I recommend yes @£30 a night but not at £100 a night.

Half-decent accommodation with a nice view from the rooftop (including the restaurant and pool). Almost completely lacking in charm except for the bustle of the predominantly Muslim neighborhood, including a mosque two doors down and halal restaurants.

Nice hotel!

This a nice hotel with an amazing view! The staff was super friendly. They allowed us to store our luggage for free while we went on a quick trip to Kandy. Rooms are clean and the room service good was good. The hotel rooms were like an apartment style. We had two rooms, with two full baths. , washer, kitchen, living room and dinning room and it was great!!

I have stayed at the Supun Residence a number times of before and have enjoyed my previous stays there, however this has been the total opposite. From the moment we arrived at the hotel we wanted to take a shower after our long flight, but this was not possible as there were no hair dryers in the room. We specifically mentioned this in our hotel request, but clearly wasn't followed through.

Being a self catering apartment we expected to there to be a working fridge and ample pots & pans for cooking. However the fridge would constantly freeze items rather than cool them, despite maintenance being called a number of times to fix this. There were also no pots & pans to cook with. The room clearly was not ready before we checked in.

Excellent, well maintained apartments!

We went as a huge group of 8 adults and 6 toddlers - booked two 3 BR apartments next to each other and had the best time ever. Apartments were maintained in excellent condition, location was perfect, breakfast buffet was to die for!
May plan another trip to Colombo just to stay at Supun Arcade one more time :)

This is our second visit. Stayed 18 days in April and 15 days in September 2015. We had a very comfortable stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Dinesh the manager for going out of his way to ensure that everything ran smoothly for us, the staff at the reception, Fazal and Prabuddha and the staff on duty, Rajendra, Salinda and the cleaning staff did a wonderful job to look after us. We will recommend Supun for any family wishing to stay comfortably in Colombo. All facilities are in excellent working conditions. From Ranga, Ishari and Amaya De Silva from Melbourne.

The apartments are large, and great when traveling in a group. Unfortunately, the entire apartment had a mite problem, and we had to switch rooms. We even switched apartments, and still had the same issue. The staff was very accommodating considering the issues, but I would recommend not to bring ANY type of food into these rooms. Even packaged food attracted these little creatures. They could do a better job at spraying and cleaning the apartments.

Nice place to return to after a long day out.

Check in/Check out was easy and painless. Staff courteous and helpful.The room, an apartment, was very nice. When we arrived there were one or two things that didnt work, the kettle, a light-bulb, etc but a simple call to reception and everything was put right - quickly and without fuss.

The rooftop pool is very nice but some of the small tiles surrounding the pool and on the pool floor have broken away creating sharp edges. We were glad we didn't have children with us. The rooftop pool does not have any shaded area and this meant we could not use it for long periods during the day.

The apartment was roomy and comfortable. The kitchen well appointed and more than adequate for a short or long stay. We only used it for refreshments and breakfast, taking advantage of Colombo's excellent choice of restaurants.

All in all, an excellent choice and I will stay at Supun Arcade Residency again.

I've been visiting Colombo since the last over decade and have stayed in almost every good hotel until last time when a friend recommended Supun ..... best thing is its very spacious staff very friendly and the pool at the 9th floor is out of this world ..... resturant needs a lot of improvement but if you are intending to stau for a weeks time it's better to stay at these appartment instead of staying in a crampy hotel room

We went to Columbo for the cricket. Unfortunately England lost both games. But we loved the hotel. The only problem was that there was not a lot of items to use in the kitchen. However the apartment was cleaned every day by very friendly staff.
We had a great time and would use the hotel again if we went back there.

Overall, we enjoyed our experience at this hotel. But, there were a few unpleasant parts. Be prepared to pay a deposit of $200.00 when you check in. We weren't ready for that and it did alter the amount of spending money we had for our trip. The housekeeping didn't clean our room during our visit which was only 2 days, but would have been nice to have the trash taken out and the dishes washed. The room was clean but I found the rat poison under the sink to be disturbing. The location was fantastic and the restaurant was also convenient.

We unfortunately had the electric go out 2 times while at the hotel. We were only staying for 2 nights and the second day/night we had the power go out in the room and we were told that we had to change rooms. They gave us a time frame of about an hour and we ended up waiting 2 hours with no electric, not air, not tv--nothing. And we had to call to ask them when they were sending someone....because even after 2 hours no one came to change our rooms and it was starting to get dark in the hotel. And it three kids we had to pack up all our bags just to move rooms for less than 5 hours, as we had to leave for the airport in the middle of the night. My husband asked the front desk if we could have free dinner or desert or something to compensate for the inconvenience. The manager basically said that by letting us change rooms they were doing us a huge favor, as they had to clean and change the linens. I was horrified to think that the manager actually expected that we would sit in the dark room until midnight when we left for the airport. Doing us a favor? Isn't in the responsibility of the hotel to ensure that the guests have lighting, electric, and safety. It was really rude and I think this hotel should not be ran as a hotel, but only a long term apartment. The manager does not have the capacity or training to deal with service oriented issues.

OK, but there's better hotels

Breakfast food standards and service was poor and inconsistent.
AC unit was broken for the duration of our stay and after numerous phone calls and different excuses, it was still not fixed.
The shower was moldy and the apartment walls was dirty and chipped.
For a whole day the television was out of order (no reception of the tv channels).
Wifi is NOT free in the rooms as it was advertised. You need to book directly with the hotel in order to get free wifi.
The towels was of a poor quality.

What a Bargain!

For under $100 AUD I had a great, spacious, clean 3 bedroom apartment with a balcony with sea views. My king size bed was heaven! The most comfortable bed I had in 4 weeks of travelling in Sri Lanka. Fantastic roof top pool to cool off in. Supermarket is only 5-10 minutes walk away, plenty of cheap local eateries close by. Would definitely stay here again.

Beware of Colombo Tuk Tuk drivers!

The hotel staff are charming and the rooms are clean and spacious . It is looking tired. The curtains are broken and need dry cleaning.( That is my only advice for the hotel owner.)
The other real issue I had in Colombo was some of the Tuk Tuk drivers made every attempt to charge you more and take you places you didnit want to go . Such as gem stores.

3 bedroom appt spacious but bedding horrible ...mattress's missing in 2 of the rooms so had to sleep on boxspring ...checked out early to catch train to Kandy but slept little. Also the area is not that nice so ordered Pizza delivery instead of eating locally. Better to find a place closer to Galle face Hotel in the real center.

Good residence for a stop-over

It's a good location for a stop-over before setting out to tour the rest of the country. It's 2 hours away from the airport during peak-hours. And one little-known fact: While we were merely 5 minutes away from the ocean, it's a surf-beach. Swimming is extremely dangerous and a beach is literally non-existent - lots of rocks. Since we had kids, we had hoped to use the beach....

Great for a stopover in Colombo

This place had a basic kitchen, Semi-automatic washing machine & neat bedrooms. It served as a place to rest before we went out to tour the country. The front-desk lady Laxmi, was extremely helpful and had the finesse and charm that one would expect. She let us keep our luggage in storage for 3 days while we backpacked around. Reason the hotel service gets a 3-star rating: After a 26-hour journey, the evening staff informed us that he didn't have a booking for us! After much panic, he corrected himself however we needed to deposit 200$. When I refused, he said that he would retain my passport. I refused; which led him to say, \"I will let you have a room now however, my Manager will talk to you about this tomorrow\". This left us very uneasy. Luckily, we met Laxmi the next morning and were put at ease immediately. The maintenance of the hotel gets 3-star rating because: The apartment (403) that we were allotted after our 3-day break had no over-the-stove hood, the washing machine drained into the laundry room and was fixed after several attempts by the technician, there was mold in the master ensuite, there was no fabric covering the bare metal ironing board. We used the pool on the terrace every morning but I have to mention that many of the tiles are chipped around the periphery. It is not a luxury hotel and we definitely did not pay an exorbitant price to live there. It was practical for us (family of six) and we did not go there expecting anything special.

It's an appartment hotel!

I was given a flat with three bedrooms, a kitchen, a utility room and a large living and dining area for the price of a room in Colombo! Unfortunately, they did not have my reservation but I had the confirmation email so check-in took about 30 mins in the early hours of the morning. When I got to the flat, the master bedroom was locked and the receptionist said the key for that room was in the manager's office which is locked until he gets in! Hmmm....!! A good hotel and I will stay again.

Stayed 21 days. Hotel on border of bambalipitiya & wellawatte and amenities including their market which was really useful. Apartment was well equipped incl tv, microwave, rice cooker, water cooler, fridge & gas hob. However only semi-automatic washing machine which resulted in losing several buttons from some clothes from the spinner. Staff were cordial but special mention for the lady at reception in the mornings who was particularly helpful and polite. However downsides include the wifi & housekeeping which we would request every 5 days. The lady who would sweep and mop would never clean the kitchen floor and left piles of dust she swept under furniture on some occasions and had kicked our shoes so she could sweep. If she had simply asked I would have gladly removed them. Bed changing was decent and plenty of linen provided. Swimming pool was pleasant. Definitely a good location and hotel facilities. Big downfall also is deposit of 200 US$ needed but takes 14 days to return which is never mentioned to you

It is more of a apartment rather than a hotel. There are couple of bedrooms depending upon which one you book. There is a nice kitchen with gas, cooking material etc. This hotel will give you large mineral water container so you don't have to worry about drinking water. I read about other comment about how noisy this apartment is but the truth is it is not that bad, there isn't any loud music going on, only sound is of vehicle as there is main road near by but if you are on higher floor it is not that bad. Only cons i found is that this hotel will charge you for Wifi and its too expensive, its about 4-8 usd per day depending upon the room you book.

First impression was terrible. The security guard told us we would have to wait to check in because everyone was on lunch-it was 2pm!! This was after we had been travelling all day. What happened to a staggered lunch?? The bellboy walked straight past us and went outside so we struggled up to our room with our cases. Rooms were large and spacious but the beds were extremely hard as mentioned before. We went up to the pool the next day to find it closed due to maintenance! No mention of this when we checked in so we went to see the manager to explain that we were only there for one day and the kids had been looking forward to the pool. To be fair he did check and we were allowed to use it whilst the guy touched up the paint around the pool. If we hadn't spoken up we would probably have missed out. Its in a decent location,about 3/4 hr from the airport (only at night! Probably 1.5hrs during the day because of traffic). It's ok for a stay and there isn't many hotels with a pool. A better welcome and more communication from the management would have improved our stay - first impressions count for everything.

Our family arrived late after a long day of traveling, and although the hotel was fairly empty, we were placed in a room next to a wedding party that raged until sunrise. The hotel staff slept in the lobby and were unresponsive to numerous requests for a quiter room or to ask the party to quiet down. No one onsite could help me, and the manager who could only be contacted by phone was no help either. We got no sleep, and the pool was not in a usable condition, so we basically did not get anything we paid for. This seems like more of a locals-only establishment, so I would not recommend staying here.

Excellent property, well maintained and has a reception area to check in and guide you to your apartment. Only downside is that there is not restaurant within the premises, however when you step out of the hotel and walk to your left there are more and enough of eateries to cater to all taste..We enjoyed our stay in this place and would stay again if we visit Srilanka in a large group of 4 and above.
