The hotel is very nice and the staff has outstanding customer service. My only gripe is that is regarding the alleged amenities and the fact they are not all on the property at the Doubletree Hotel. You have to walk to the Hilton, which is sort of close but also far when you expected all amenities to be at the property. Specifically, the wellness center/spa, fitness facilities, indoor pool, and spa are NOT at the Doubletree. The walk to the Hilton is approximately 1-2 blocks because you have to walk around to the front of the hotel. The wellness center is phenomenal and worth the money, but I did not like the misleading advertising on the Expedia page.

All around good. We feel that we got a better value than the Hilton hotel next door. Great view, location, setup, etc. Wished the pools were warmer as they were too cold to enjoy. Breakfast was good too.

We had a wonderful stay at the DoubleTree. The warm welcome, complete with their signature cookie, was a delightful and heartfelt touch—it was absolutely delicious, too!

The hotel’s location is excellent, within walking distance of American Village, with plenty of dining and drink options nearby. We booked a sea view room and were thrilled with the breathtaking scenery. We even had the perfect balcony view of the New Year’s Eve fireworks on December 31st.

Our room was comfortable, and we slept very well thanks to the cozy bed. Breakfast offered a good standard of choices, including fresh juices. We especially enjoyed the made-to-order omelettes, prepared by the chef with options like ham, spinach, and cheese. The restaurant itself is beautifully situated, making breakfast with a sea view a truly enjoyable experience.

If we had to note one small critique, it would be the fried eggs, which we found a bit overcooked and dry on the bottom.

Overall, our experience was very positive. Should we return to American Village, we would happily choose DoubleTree again.

The property is amazing. The staff at check in were fantastic and helpful, the room was incredible, spacious, clean & tidy with impressive views. The laundry facilities are convenient but the dryers are not great and we ended up having to put the cycle on for a long time for our clothes to actually be dry but even then, they weren’t fully. Buffet breakfast was delicious and the pool facilities both on site and across the road at the other property were great. Very sad to have left the place but will definitely be returning.

I recently stayed at this hotel, which is housed in a new building with modern amenities. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay. However, I found the hotel to be overpriced for what it offers. It doesn’t have its own beach, and you have to walk about 10 minutes to reach the nearest one. The breakfast menu was quite limited, and the room felt too small considering the price. Overall, while the service was great, I expected more for the cost.

Beautiful place

First of all I want to say that the staff at the hotel are really very kind. Although we couldn't check in first when we arrived at the hotel early, it was very convenient to store our luggage. The hotel is very close to the seaside and theme areas, which is very convenient. We only stayed for one day this time and hope to stay for two nights next time. The room has a balcony, and you can see the sea view when you open the window, which is great!

I was originally debating between the Hilton and the Hilton doubletree as both are right next to each other but I am so glad I choose the doubletree! Staff was amazing, my check in experience was with Thanh who was exceptional! She provided us maps, recommendations for our entire stay! The scenic views of the water are closer to the boardwalk so you get to see the entire view that’s unobstructed and perfect to watch sunsets as balcony’s are equipped with chairs and tables. This place offered the easiest access to both pools and ground access to the board walk of American Village, I could not recommend more! If you also decide you want to rent bicycles, they offer them right outside the lobby which is super convenient to rent/use.
We also had a later flight so needed a taxi scheduled around 4 pm. Apparently taxis stop running after a certain time and the hotel went above and beyond to secure us a taxi at a fixed rate. Amazing service and highly recommended if you’re staying in Okinawa!

Relaxing new hotel with best pool.

Hotel is new and pool is defiantly the highlight (great for lounging, relax and kids!). Staff were great (especially Daeson). Breakfast buffet was fabulous as was the Moët and Chandon event (great value!)! Only negative was there was no good swimming beaches nearby (apparently the good beaches are on the islands which are more of a treak) and drinks were expensive by the pool. Variety of restaurants nearby. A bonus is you can also use the Hilton across the roads pools and gym too.

Simply superlative. Has to rank among the Top Three hotels that we've stayed at in Okinawa. Unmatched location in the Mihama section of Chatan-son. Close by numerous eateries and shopping venues. We only stayed here for a day but wished we could have stayed longer!
When you stay at the Double Tree, you are also able to use any Hilton hotel amenities such as the swimming pools and whatnot. It is a nice perk.
The hotel is newly built, so everything is very clean and modern. I wish it was taller so you can get a more private view from the balcony, but the ocean view is beautiful nonetheless. The staff are very courteous and can speak English pretty well. They even had a surprise for us when I notified them that this was our honeymoon.
The rooms are a good size and I noticed that of the 3 hotels we stayed during our trip, the Double Tree had the most TV stations (in case you'd want to watch TV).
The hotel is walking distance to the American Village, which is awesome and convenient.
The only downside is that breakfast is not included and is pretty expensive.
I would definitely stay here again if I ever go back to Okinawa.

Overall very pleasant stay. The staff is very friendly and attentive, especially at the check-in where our son was very sleepy the staff helped to cheer him up. The rooms are clean and nice. The bathroom, especially the shower, I found a bit too functional, the bathroom design could be a bit nicer for this category of hotel. Breakfast with a good selection and very tasty. The breakfast room has a nice view to the sea and to the pool. Onsite parking is free of charge.

This hotel is only one year old and feels fresh, clean and modern. The bathrooms are particularly nice and the rooms are comfortable, with one notable exception. I found the chair in the room to be one of the most uncomfortable and impractical I have ever found in a nice hotel. I inquired at the front desk if there were any other chair options, and there aren’t. If you watch TV sitting on the bed you’ll be fine. But if you want to sit in a chair before going to bed, you might not find it very comfortable at this property.

Gorgeous hotel! So modern and clean. The beach views were incredible. Definitely spring for a room with a balcony—if’s worth it! OH and the shower. The shower was a spa oasis. I didn’t want to leave.

All of the employees were kind and helpful. As an American, Iwas worried about the language barrier, but they were patient and several employees spoke fluent English.

My mom and I went on to stay at a similarly reviewed property in Beijing, and all we can talk about is how much we miss our Oki hotel!

Home away from home

Brand new hotel that is very comfortable to stay in and central to a lot of the attractions in American village. Staff go above and beyond and even helped us bring our luggage to our room. (Bonus brownie points!!)

Just a note though that the terrace room is located on the 2nd floor only and there is a fence around the terrace partially obstructing the ocean view. So if you are really keen to stay in a room with an unobstructed view of the ocean then it's better to choose a balcony room on the higher floors.

We loved loved loved the hotel. Our room wasn’t ready yet when we got to the hotel in the afternoon. However, they apologized and put us in another room before they could give us our room. We were very happy with the customer service. One of the best of all the hotels I’ve stayed. The hotel is super conveniently located and the garden pool was very nice. We didn’t get to use the Hilton amenities across the street but it’s a very nice offering. We had the king room with the balcony, which had amazing view of the ocean. Overall, great service and super clean and comfortable rooms!!

Fortunately for me, I just arrived after the Trami Typhoon, and left before the Kong-rey Typhoon hit. Unfortunately, Okinawa was hit pretty hard. The hotel was in the process of cleaning up and dealing with power issues. They gave me a free upgrade to an ocean view due to no air conditioning. Fortunately again, for me, they got the air condition up and running an hour or so later. Great roof top bar area with pretty spectacular views as well. Very close to American Village with many restaurants and bars too.
